Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. so where's the 'discussion'

i responded there.. you are fast on revert, slow on response.. 178.148.10.191 (talk) 01:51, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

It was up to you to take it to talk actually. Anyway, there is a discussion now. Dbrodbeck (talk) 02:01, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
nope, it was up to you to explain on talk why you removed the sourced sentence.. you cannot just delete stuff without any explanation whatsoever. 178.148.10.191 (talk) 02:03, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
Well, I've never seen anyone else interpret BRD that way, and I have been editing here since about 2006. Anyway, the point is moot, the discussion has started. Dbrodbeck (talk) 02:05, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
i've been editing since before, and i've seen a few interpretations of a number of policies, guidelines, and even essays (which you linked to). btw, almost every essay has a counter essay, and i provided you with such at that talk page.. 178.148.10.191 (talk) 02:11, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

If you would like to use this

Hello D. I enjoy the (tm) that you are using alongside "Chaneyverse" - If you want to make it more official looking you might use this "Chaneyverse" Another editor created it for me a couple years ago since I like to refer to Troll-be-Gone when removing trollish comments. Cheers and enjoy your weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 15:58, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Oddly, Warren Chaney is in both pics..... Dbrodbeck (talk) 04:39, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
That is excellent!! And there are at least a dozen sources (self-published to be sure) to prove it :-) MarnetteD|Talk 05:04, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

I remember seeing these images in the books that really existed at the local library when I was a child! I think they were published by International Dynamic Publishing Inc. Thanks for writing about them, it really takes me back to when I was a child. =) You should consider writing more about the other images by Warren Chaney! I remember they won awards from The Totally Real Critics Association and made major contributions to the field. --User:TotallyNotASock (talk) 06:30, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

I saw those when I was stationed in Okinawa. Dbrodbeck (talk) 13:59, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

Trivia?

Just wondering why my work on the University of Western Ontario page was discarded. After looking at other articles of Canadian universities, like the McMaster page, there were mention of school songs and/or bands. Insight into this edit would be appreciated. R.schneider101 (talk) 23:07, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

Trivia as in trivial, like unimportant. That said, take it to the talk page of the article, perhaps others will disagree with me. It is pretty standard to delete stuff and then discuss it, nothing personal. (Check out WP:BRD. Dbrodbeck (talk) 23:25, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

Question

Hello, thank you for your edits. Can you tell me what should be fixed so we can add this into article? Thank you so much! --Ąnαșταη (ταlκ) 22:26, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. It is probably undue weight. That is my view, but take it to the talk page of the article and see what others think. Read WP:UNDUE to get a feel for what I mean. Dbrodbeck (talk) 22:40, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Charlie Lindgren, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lakeville. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Murder vs. Killed

Killed would be more appropriate, as it is the term used by this website for articles on Stalin and his purges. An encyclopedia should always try to be neutral in its terminology. (217.42.104.189 (talk) 18:56, 6 April 2016 (UTC))

Then go get consensus there and edit that page please. Dbrodbeck (talk) 18:57, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
You might want to look at Great Purge where 'murdered' is used in the lead. Dbrodbeck (talk) 19:06, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
I think the term "murdered", while obviously true, is too emotional for a neutral account like an encyclopedia. (217.42.104.189 (talk) 19:38, 6 April 2016 (UTC))

Dbrodbeck and @Hwy43: Sorry to intrude, but I couldn't help it... I totally agree with you. This user is very disruptive and doesn't seem to like discussion as he always reverts my messages on his talk page with no talk back whatsoever, as well as on those two wiki talk pages you mentioned. And with those "lol" edit summaries to boot, he is clearly WP:NOTHERE and is just trying to retaliate childishly from the discussions at Canada Day and is holding a grudge for whatever reason. I don't think he's broken 3RR, but I don't think he should continue to get away with his actions. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 18:34, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

Can you create a page on Psychosocial assessment like what is it, what are the methods or structure, theoretical background...etc. and edit Psychometrics with the inclusion of how to create a questionnaire in a simple language (not too much academic lingo). Include Item analysis, Factor analysis, Item bias, Reliability, Validity, Standardization...etc. If not possible can provide links since you are more related the field, you can see through the links and content what is relevant and what is not. Thank you.61.0.76.21 (talk) 06:38, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

Enrolment

Never saw that spelling in my entire life, but now I see it's the preferred spelling outside the United States. I'll put it on the list with favourite, colour, and neighbourhood. :-) Freddiem (talk) 02:44, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Yup, and cancelled as well.... Dbrodbeck (talk) 10:44, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I looked up cancelled and that's the preferred outside US but interestingly enough I use cancelled rather than canceled. And it's just the opposite of enrolment. With the l vs. ll. Go figure. Yesterday, I had a friend on facebook who lives in Ottawa tell me he wants to move into an "old Victorian pile", "pile" that was a new one on me. Freddiem (talk) 10:03, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
Pile is an odd one, mostly archaic I think. Whereas most everyone in Canada spells what you would call a 'check' a 'cheque' but spells the thing you get at a hockey game a 'program' and not a 'programme'. We are nothing if not odd...... Dbrodbeck (talk) 11:13, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

FYI, I changed my mind and decided to follow a similar procedure to that commonly employed for gamergate-related disruption and sanctions: topic ban first, and if it happens again, block. It saves on back-end second-guessing, but loads a little more fussing into the front end. Acroterion (talk) 02:15, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Topic ban for Jed Stuart

I really think it's time to request a topic ban for Jed Stuart. Do you agree? If so, a simple "yes" will be enough. If I can find a couple of good editors who agree, I'll start an ANI thread requesting it and post a link back here. If you don't agree, please let me know why.
