In reference to the recent revert of my edits on Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 page
The article had been vandalised by some troll and highly opinionated lines were added with no source which parroted the government/right-wing line. I merely edited these lines to remove the bias. I do not believe my edit should have been reverted.
However, upon checking back on the article, I have found that the problematic, biased lines that I removed/fixed have been changed so the article is neutral again. WatermelonSeller05 (talk) 08:30, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
Regarding the revert made you in Babri masjid page
Hi DaxServer,
I have made an edit to the Babri Masjid page about Tulsidas mentioning the destruction of the temple. As you have reverted by suggesting not to use court documents, can you help in making that edit? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you. Take care. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 11:10, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Bsskchaitanya I'd suggest researching for scholarly resources in Google Books, Google Scholar, JSTOR, etc.,. Since the work had been there for a long period of time and is an important one, there're certainly studies on it about the topic you want too add. Good luck! — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 12:59, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your inputs. Found two articles which reported about Rambhadracharya whose testimony was recorded during proceedings of the Allahabad court.
- 1.Tulsidas’ testimony, Daily Pioneer, 18 August 2020.
Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Rambhadracharya of the Ramanandi Sampradaya submitted in an affidavit before the Allahabad High Court on July 15, 2003, stating that in Shri Tulsi Dohashatak, the poet bemoaned the misdeeds of Babur and destruction of the Ram Temple by Mir Baqi. “The Yavanas (foreigners) filled with anger ridiculed the mantras, Upanishads, brahmanas and Puranas; after cutting the tuft of hair (shikha, choti) and yagopavit (sacred thread of Brahmins), they expelled the followers of Hari from their homes. Tulsi says this is a bad time for Hindus” (Bhad hari bhagaye desh se, TuIsi kathin kujog).
“Babur came with sword in hand in the summer months of Vikram Samvat 1585 (1528 AD) and created havoc (anarth). The beautiful Ram Janmabhumi temple was ruined and a mosque built; Tulsi felt aggrieved (Tulsi kinhi hai).” Further, Mir Baqi destroyed the temple and the murtis of Ram Darbar (family of infant Ram) as a broken-hearted Tulsi cried for protection (Trahi trahi Raghuraj). Tulsi continued, “Where there was a temple on Ram’s birthplace, in the middle of Awadh, Mir Baqi built a mosque.” In Kavitavali, Tulsidas laments, where are the ascetics (dhoot, avadhoot), the Rajputs and the weavers? He expresses detachment from society. Tulsi, he avers, is devoted to Ram, will eat by begging, will sleep in mosque (masit mein saibo).
- 2.Guru Rambhadracharya, Who Deposed On Behalf Of Lord Ram In Allahabad HC, Times of India, 23 January 2024.
He cited verses from two works of Tulasīdāsa – eight verses from the Dohā Śataka which describe the destruction of a temple and construction of mosque at the disputed site in 1528 CE, and one verse from Kavitāvalī which mentions the disputed site.
- Can you suggest if these sources can be used to support that sentence. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 13:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Bsskchaitanya Can you research for sources not connected to the SC judgement and from independent sources? It'd be better if the source is about the Tulsidas' work directly. — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 17:14, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

- I will revert the edits made in some wikipedia pages accordingly. As a general question I am asking this one. How to point out if some reliable source involved in highly opiniated and one-sided in reporting. Personally, it is noticed by me there is some bias against topics related to Hinduism and India by some reliable sources such as Al Jazeera. In that case how to counter that on Wikipedia? Any suggestions would be grateful. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 18:03, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi,
I notice that that you have cited mention of Adi Sankara's visit to Ayodhya has no due weight while reverting an edit made by me in that article. However, I would like to bring to your notice that Adi Sankara holds high importance in the history of Hinduism and its revival. He is credited with identification of many teertha kshetras such as Jyotirlingas, setting up Dasanami sampradaya, writing commentaries on many important Hindu works, propagating Advaita etc. He visited many holyplaces across India (and Pakistan). From a scholarly perspective it can indicate for existence of such site in that area and how Ayodhya was revered by Hindus from other parts of India. For example, he visited Draksharama (nearby my hometown) which indicates the ancient Siva temple there was prominent even during 8th century. We can notice inscriptions by Cholas in that temple. However, this temple being in South survived the vicissitudes of time unlike the temples in other parts of India which suffered from iconoclasm and sometimes complete destruction. Therefore, information that Adi Sankara visited Ayodhya way back in 8th century indicates it was an important pilgrimage site even during that era. In that section of the article, my intention was to provide information about Rama's significance and subsequent importance of Ayodhya as a pilgrimage site owing to its relation with Rama's life events. So, it is my request to consider your reversion. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you and have a nice day. Bsskchaitanya (talk) 06:08, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

Article on Rajnath Singh
Kindly do not remove the contents of Rajnath Singh page, which would be highly improper. I have not added any defamatory content to Wikipedia, as in case of Rajnath Singh. Every thing I have stated is based completely on reliable and respectable magazines articles, already in public domain. Every statement is based on facts, with definite evidences in public records. Similarly there has been no violation of copyright infringement. The material written by me needs to be presented in the article because it is based purely on public documents of extremely reliable acceptability. Removing them would be shielding truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Goodwikie (talk • contribs) 11:45, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
Relationship with BJP
I have very strong apprehension that you have a very close relation with BJP and your reactions to my edits are primarily governed by that relationship.

Non-neutral actions
I am waiting for your response to disclosure of your relationship with Bhartiya Janata Party. Your extra-ordinary interest in selective subjects gives a very strong indication that you are not working in a neutral manner but are working here to keep certain hard truth away from Wikipedia readers, on behalf of someone, most probably BJP. My submission is that you kindly come out with truth in this regards. It is once again prayed to kindly not come in the way of truth and delete those articles written/amended by me which are based purely and completely on facts and reliable evidences. Such an act comes in the way of truth and justice, and also hampers the basic purpose of Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Genuinewikiuser (talk • contribs) 01:31, 11 March 2024 (UTC)

Controversies section of Yogi Adityanath page
As stated in reply to the query/comment/act of Mr DaxServer, it has been completely established that the two major controversies related with Yogi Adityanath are an essential, inalienable and necessary part of his life journey, whether anyone likes it or not. They are both uncomfortable and unsavoury facts related with his life journey, but have helped shape his political rise in the immense complexities of political scenario of Easter Uttar Pradesh, and hence cannot be taken away, and need to be necessarily presented.
It is for these reasons that they have been brought back, based solely on the genuineness of the need of these two issues.
I would request Mr DaxServer not to remove these Edits, because his interactions so far give a very clear indication that he is not a neutral editor but works for the political party BJP. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Genuinewikiuser (talk • contribs) 11:44, 12 March 2024 (UTC)

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary, as you did at Muhammad zubair. We are writing to inform you that your recent edits on Wikipedia have been flagged for engaging in an edit war and disrupting the editing process. Your repeated attempts to add information without proper consensus and edit warring are in violation of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
We understand that you may have strong opinions or beliefs regarding the content you are adding, but it is essential to follow Wikipedia's collaborative editing process. Edit warring disrupts the ability of editors to work together and compromises the quality and neutrality of Wikipedia articles.
We urge you to refrain from further edit warring and disruptive editing practices. Instead, we encourage you to engage in constructive discussion on the article's talk page to reach a consensus with other editors. Consensus-building is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia, and it ensures that articles reflect a neutral and balanced point of view.
Failure to comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines may result in administrative action, including the possibility of being blocked from editing. We hope that you will take this warning seriously and contribute positively to the Wikipedia community by respecting the collaborative editing process. Sak7340 (talk) 14:28, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

FYI - you're at three reverts and I've gotta be fair and warn everyone on that article. I'd hate to see you get caught up by the 3RR report, when it's really likely they'll get a block for the edit-warring and hopefully disruptive editing in genera. If they keep pushing it, just let it stay until the EW report is handled. Fun stuff, I know. Ravensfire (talk) 17:16, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Ravensfire Thanks for the note. It is WP:NOT3RR#7 for the reverts you and I made. — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 17:29, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- I was wondering if I should ask for ECP protection or just wait a tad bit longer for an admin to be available to act on the 3RR report — DaxServer (t · m · e · c) 17:30, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
- Probably falls under that, but you want to mention that in your edit summary so a reviewing admin knows what you're doing. I think ECP isn't needed right now - it's one disruptive editor, so block them and it's resolved. If they try the IP route, then semi-protection. Hopefully they are getting the point - I know, not likely given their talk page comments where they steadfastly ignore the main points being made. Ravensfire (talk) 17:34, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

Rollback
Hello, DaxServer,
Please do not use rollback to remove a PROD tag from an article. Rollback is intended to be used to quickly undo vandalism not to revert good faith edits of regular editors. Just either "Undo" or make an edit of your own, removing the PROD tag and leaving an appropriate edit summary explaining your edit. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:36, 9 May 2024 (UTC)

Cut the drama here and stop using threatening language
That passive agression you are showing on my talk page, "you are warned, don't do this again" stuff like that, just cut that already. Instead, explain to me in a civil manner what is the issue you got with my edits. That link leads to disambiguation page and I only fixed that. Stop assuming that other people who edit are doing disruptive edits, and only you hold the beacon of righteous authority here. — Hemant Dabral (📞 • ✒) 09:18, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

Founder of Amaravati
Please respond in Amaravati talk page:Old City, Hyderabad was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah (died 1612), not some Chief Minister or Politician, who built a software park 386 years later 35 km away in the city of modern Hyderabad during 1990's. Similarly old city Amaravathi is founded by Vasireddy Venkatadri Nayudu (died 1816) not some Chief Minister or Politician who is building a government complex 200 years later 35 km away in the city of modern Amaravati, Pls change it in the Amaravati article's infobox. This is applicable to any city of the world, Amaravati is not unique to this. Just because somebody is a fan of N. Chandrababu Naidu, cannot endorse it to the article illogically. Rajiv Dixit
Hi DaxServer. I respect though am disappointed that you didn't respond to my ping from the current RfC. I hope you don't mind my asking, could you shed some light on the political aspects of how Dixit has been portrayed? I'm guessing that it mostly revolves around his relationship with Ramdev, so supporters of Ramdev have supported Dixit. Given Dixit's rhetoric, the INC and it's supporters would tend toward undermining Dixit, and the reverse with the BJP. Your thoughts would be appreciated. --Hipal (talk) 17:51, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

Other Noteworthy Stuff
- Launch of WikiProject Deprecate P642: The goal of this project is to prepare for deprecation, and eventual removal, of the property of (P642). Currently, of (P642) is labeled as "being deprecated", meaning its use is still allowed, but discouraged. From a peak of around 900,000 uses, the property now has around 700,000 uses (see status here). Our goal is to reduce that as much as possible in a systematic way, while ensuring that appropriate properties exist to replace all valid uses of of (P642). The latter is key to officially deprecating the property. Before removing the property, we want to get as close to zero uses as possible.

Updates for editors
- The Structured Discussion extension (also known as Flow) is starting to be removed. This extension is unmaintained and causes issues. It will be replaced by DiscussionTools, which is used on any regular talk page. A first set of wikis are being contacted. These wikis are invited to stop using Flow, and to move all Flow boards to sub-pages, as archives. At these wikis, a script will move all Flow pages that aren't a sub-page to a sub-page automatically, starting on 22 October 2024. On 28 October 2024, all Flow boards at these wikis will be set in read-only mode. [18][19]
- WMF's Search Platform team is working on making it easier for readers to perform text searches in their language. A change last week on over 30 languages makes it easier to find words with accents and other diacritics. This applies to both full-text search and to types of advanced search such as the hastemplate and incategory keywords. More technical details (including a few other minor search upgrades) are available. [20]
- View all 20 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, EditCheck was installed at Russian Wikipedia, and fixes were made for some missing user interface styles.
Updates for technical contributors
- Editors who use the Toolforge tool Earwig's Copyright Violation Detector will now be required to log in with their Wikimedia account before running checks using the "search engine" option. This change is needed to help prevent external bots from misusing the system. Thanks to Chlod for these improvements. [21]
- Phabricator users can create tickets and add comments on existing tickets via Email again. Sending email to Phabricator has been fixed. [22]
- Some HTML elements in the interface are now wrapped with a
<bdi>
element, to make our HTML output more aligned with Web standards. More changes like this will be coming in future weeks. This change might break some tools that rely on the previous HTML structure of the interface. Note that relying on the HTML structure of the interface is not recommended and might break at any time. Tech News: 2024-43
Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Weekly highlight
- The Mobile Apps team has released an update to the iOS app's navigation, and it is now available in the latest App store version. The team added a new Profile menu that allows for easy access to editor features like Notifications and Watchlist from the Article view, and brings the "Donate" button into a more accessible place for users who are reading an article. This is the first phase of a larger planned navigation refresh to help the iOS app transition from a primarily reader-focused app, to an app that fully supports reading and editing. The Wikimedia Foundation has added more editing features and support for on-wiki communication based on volunteer requests in recent years.
Updates for editors
- Wikipedia readers can now download a browser extension to experiment with some early ideas on potential features that recommend articles for further reading, automatically summarize articles, and improve search functionality. For more details and to stay updated, check out the Web team's Content Discovery Experiments page and subscribe to their newsletter.
- Later this month, logged-out editors of these 12 wikis will start to have temporary accounts created. The list may slightly change - some wikis may be removed but none will be added. Temporary account is a new type of user account. It enhances the logged-out editors' privacy and makes it easier for community members to communicate with them. If you maintain any tools, bots, or gadgets on these 12 wikis, and your software is using data about IP addresses or is available for logged-out users, please check if it needs to be updated to work with temporary accounts. Guidance on how to update the code is available. Read more about the deployment plan across all wikis.
- View all 33 community-submitted tasks that were resolved last week. For example, the South Ndebele, Pannonian Rusyn, Obolo, Iban and Tai Nüa Wikipedia languages were created last week. [24][25][26][27][28]
- It is now possible to create functions on Wikifunctions using Wikidata lexemes, through the new Wikidata lexeme type launched last week. When you go to one of these functions, the user interface provides a lexeme selector that helps you pick a lexeme from Wikidata that matches the word you type. After hitting run, your selected lexeme is retrieved from Wikidata, transformed into a Wikidata lexeme type, and passed into the selected function. Read more about this in the latest Wikifunctions newsletter.
Updates for technical contributors
- Users of the Wikimedia sites can now format dates more easily in different languages with the new
{{#timef:…}}
parser function. For example,{{#timef:now|date|en}}
will show as "24 November 2024". Previously,{{#time:…}}
could be used to format dates, but this required knowledge of the order of the time and date components and their intervening punctuation.#timef
(or#timefl
for local time) provides access to the standard date formats that MediaWiki uses in its user interface. This may help to simplify some templates on multi-lingual wikis like Commons and Meta. [29][30] - Commons and Meta users can now efficiently retrieve the user's language using
{{USERLANGUAGE}}
instead of using{{int:lang}}
. [31] - The Product and Tech Advisory Council (PTAC) now has its pilot members with representation across Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America. They will work to address the Movement Strategy's Technology Council initiative of having a co-defined and more resilient technological platform. [32]
In depth
- The latest quarterly Growth newsletter is available. It includes: an upcoming Newcomer Homepage Community Updates module, new Community Configuration options, and details on new projects.
- The Wikimedia Foundation is now an official partner of the CVE program, which is an international effort to catalog publicly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerabilities. This partnership will allow the Security Team to instantly publish common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE) records that are affecting MediaWiki core, extensions, and skins, along with any other code the Foundation is a steward of.
- The Community Wishlist is now testing machine translations for Wishlist content. Volunteers can now read machine-translated versions of wishes and dive into discussions even before translators arrive to translate content.
Meetings and events
- 24 October - Wiki Education Speaker Series Webinar - Open Source Tech: Building the Wiki Education Dashboard, featuring Wikimedia interns and a Web developer in the panel.
- 20–22 December 2024 - Indic Wikimedia Hackathon Bhubaneswar 2024 in Odisha, India. A hackathon for community members, including developers, designers and content editors, to build technical solutions that improve contributors' experiences.

Important: Please update user script installation
Hi there, you currently have a user script installed from Anne drew Andrew and Drew

To fix this, please update your JavaScript pages (Special:MyPage/common.js or Special:MyPage/skin.js) by replacing all instances of Anne drew Andrew and Drew
with Anne drew
.
If any of this is unclear, please ping Anne drew for help. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!
