Request on 09:51:58, 10 September 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by Aboutian
Please advise what would change this assessment of my article Financial Institutions Revenue Collection (September 10). Your assessment said "This submission reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article. Submissions should summarise information in secondary, reliable sources and not contain opinions or original research. Please write about the topic from a neutral point of view in an encyclopedic manner." This seems like an almost 'automatic response' but I feel it should not apply to my article. I especially do not understand as it uses almost identical wording to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spahn_tax. In fact, I thought the only possible objection would be that it was too similar - possibly verging on plagiarism - but instead, the Spahn one is fine but mine is not. Any assistance much appreciated.

Request on 15:22:29, 10 September 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by WikiVK
Thank you for informing me that the text submitted to Wikipedia "Mani Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore" was rejected on the grounds that the topic was not notable.
My motive in offering this submission arose after recently stumbling upon the Wikipedia page "List of Educational Institutions in Coimbatore". Knowing something about India, where I lived for 30 years and in particular about Coimbatore city, I was horrified to find that Mani HS School was not even listed. It is one of the oldest institutions with a good track record and having produced many distinguished alumni. I rectified the omission by offering a list entry, which was duly accepted - I think.
I then noted that every other entry on the List hyperlinked to dedicated webpages and I therefore created one for Mani HS School using the primary sources at my disposal, applying the same quality standards of journalism as Wikipaedia generally. The text was written in a neutral tone and its purpose was to highlight and present an important and noteworthy educational institution whose omission appeared to be, at best an accidental oversight.
I am now told that the subject is not notable. Wikipedia has extensive guidelines on notability and I cannot claim that I understand them all, but the prime precept as I see it, is the test of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". But while seeming intuitively plausible, the idea that repetition is a test of good value (such as a thousand lies making a truth) appears a feeble test and even, rather tautological! But I am not here to question.
However, I think anyone who judges my contribution as not notable, should be prepared too, to defend the other entries on the same Wikipaedia page that are already live, and therefore have presumably passed the "notable" test. I refer, for example, to schools on the same List, such as (a) Islamiyah Matriculation Higher Secondary School, (b) Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School (c) Nirmala Matha Convent Matriculation Higher Secondary School, etc. - and indeed, any of the 17 schools on that List, of whom none except about two would be really considered noteworthy, if not notable. In fact, the last named (c), has only three sentences of text in its dedicated webpage and two references, both to itself, all of which adds nothing to the sum of human knowledge. Pray, tell me, what is it that distinguishes my contribution as being unworthy, while all these rest have been passed?
As for the second flaw, that of improving the referencing so that the information is verifiable, the quoted references are all online, except for one primary source, a 50-year-old printed book of which only one copy is believed to be in existence. I can easily obtain for someone to verify a photocopy of the original text, which is in tamil, and which I had translated for my submission. There is nothing else than I can do.
Despite all of the above, I do understand from the rules above that I should not be really writing all this here, but should address it to WP:AFCDH, whoever that may be. But you see, I came in here to offer something that I felt would be a useful addition to human knowledge and not to become embroiled in what seems to me an extremely complex system of checks and balances, even if it is all quite marvellous. And really, as there is nothing more that I have that I can usefully add to the text of my submission to make it "notable", I have to reconcile myself to letting it die quietly. I thought it would only be polite to explain to you my silence and hence this reply.
And finally, thank you for inviting me to the Teahouse. I had not really planned on embarking upon becoming a Wikipaedia editor/author in any big way. I have spent most of my lifetime writing researched reports on healthcare strategies and don't think I really have more appetite for the cut-and-thrust of peer-reviewed journalism that this occupation - or hobby - appears to demand.
Kind regards
WikiVK (talk) 15:22, 10 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi WikiVK. You need to provide at least two, preferably more, reliable, verifiable and independent references that have 'significant coverage' of the subject per WP:GNG. Further information can be found at WP:NHS and WP:WPSCH/AG and WP:ORG. In regards to the other schools you mentioned, they were created BEFORE a new policy was introduced. Thank-you David.moreno72 08:21, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
19:19:37, 8 September 2017 review of submission by Historybuff21
I just wanted to get a little more clarification on why you declined my resubmission. After the original denial (for the same reasons that you used), I removed any comment that could be construed as opinion, and added an additional source for the one line that could possibly be considered opinion (that assisted living and personal care were considered interchangeable). I am not using any original research, so I'm confused why you denied it. Could you please help me better understand? This is a confusing matter for people in PA, and I've heard many people ask what the differences are, so I'm just trying to provide clarification.
Thanks for your consideration. Historybuff21 (talk) 19:19, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
I see that you have answered other people's questions, but not mine. Am I not asking correctly? This is the first article that I have posted in about 10 years, so I'm rusty. Historybuff21 (talk) 19:11, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Historybuff21. I declined your submission as it is too specific. A better option might be a section topic of 'Comparison between assisted living and personal care' in the Assisted living article, which includes the situation in Pennsylvania. If the section becomes too long, it could then be moved to a seperate page. Thank you David.moreno72 01:23, 12 September 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Newsletter
Backlog update:
- The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
- Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!
Technology update:
- The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225
General project update:
- On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
- Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.
- To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

14:10:35, 24 September 2017 review of submission by Typom
Hello David.moreno72,
Thanks for reviewing my draft. I need additional guidance. I translated the article from the French article about Bernard Charbonneau, with all its existing references, assuming they would be acceptable in the English version I drafted. Isn't it the case? If not, I'm not sure if/how additional references can be found. Thanks In advance for your clarification and help. Have a great day.
Hi, I have added several references to the Bernard Charbonneau article. Do you think it is publish-able now? In the meantime, I have got "move" privilege (because of 10+ edits) but I assume it would not be appropriate to my move the article myself in light of the fact it was rejected once. Please confirm if my understanding is correct. Thank you. Best Typom (talk) 23:59, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Typom. The article is now much more likely to be accepted, unfortunately I do not review articles by request. Yes, it would not be appropriate for you to move or accept the article. Just be patient, and I'm sure that it will be reviewed. Thank you David.moreno72 00:13, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Copyvio check
Hey David, just wanted to drop you a note about AFCs and copyvio. It's vital that you always check for copyright violations in draft submission. If you don't have it already, you should install Earwig's copyvio script, importScript('User:The Earwig/copyvios.js');
, which adds the copyvio check right onto the left frame. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 11:38, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Primefac. Thanks for the tip. How do I install the script? Cheers David.moreno72 11:45, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi,
Are the new changes appropriate to make the article "publishable"? If you reckon the guy is not suitable for an article, I will not argue about that. How do we establish someone or something as important enough?
Thanks,

JoãoMM (talk) 13:46, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hi. The subject needs significant coverage from reliable, third party sources not connected with the subject. Someone has to have written a great deal about them in order to establish notability. All the draft now has is IMDB. IMDB is not considered a reliable source as it is user editable.Dlohcierekim (talk) 14:07, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Dear David
you reject my article for the third time . it is not just about forward contracts its about a new crypto currency. May I ask you for a favour to consider it again while I input more appropriate referencing ? I am trying to do my best for the Wikipedia and after spending some time working on it, I got a message from you – do not resubmit ? Would you please consider it again ?
Forward contracts is not a crypto currency - its commodities etc...
This is your message : ===Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Forward contract instead.
- Hi @OxanaSelekhova:
- Lets have a look at your references
- [1], The Ethereum BlockChain Explorer, API and Analytics Platform
- [2], Cryptocurrency Exchanges / Markets List
- [3]Cryptocurrency Exchanges Are Increasingly Roiled by Hackings and Chaos
- [4] A forward contract is a private agreement between two parties giving the buyer an obligation to purchase an asset (and the seller an obligation to sell an asset) at a set price at a future point in time
- [5], Cryptocurrency calculator & converter
- [6], limitations for purchasing and using LAT in USA, dated July 25, 2017
- 1 is the Ethereum API, not about LATO.
- 2 is an Exchange list, not about LATO.
- 3 is about Cryptocurrency Exchanges, not about LATO.
- 4 is about a forward contracts, not about LATO.
- 5 is a calculator, not about LATO.
- 6 is about LAT's, not about LATO.
- It really is very simple. The references have to be about the topic, not something else. Any further questions are to be directed to WP:AFCHD. Thank you David.moreno72 13:39, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

- Hi @OxanaSelekhova:. To improve the article it has to be about Liquidity Asset Token, not about a broker. Given that it's a relatively new concept, it is probably WP:TOOSOON. I will eliminate it all over
Besides there are many new concepts as cryptocurrencies are relatively new in general
Here are some articles you have and I wonder if after all my editing you would consider it again? As its also belongs to this list ?

Regarding Draft:River Hawkins
Two comments on your recent review of Draft:River Hawkins which I reverted:
- In general I don't think it's a good idea to review the same draft over and over again; it's better to let someone else take a look at it, too. Firstly, we might miss something that someone else notices, and secondly, we should not act as one-person doorkeepers.
- The specific review said the page was an "attack page" or "vandalism". There was no negative content in the draft whatsoever, and while the subject may not be notable, there was no vandalism either. Huon (talk) 13:28, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Firstly, it's best to not tell someone that they don't comply WP:COMPETENCE. There's too much of a risk that it might anger them instead of motivating them to be more competent. In the best case scenario, as we've just seen, it does nothing. I was also wondering if, at this point, we should go ahead and MfD this draft. I mean, there are inline citations...technically. They're all DJ Smiths' releases, though. -- I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message (talk to me) (My edits) @ 01:35, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi I dream of horses. Yeah, you're right. It certainly is frustrating when an editor resubmits without reading and/or understanding the notes. As such I am taking a break from AfC reviewing, especially in light of the comments from you and Huon. Go ahead and MfD the article. Let me know and I will add an ivote. I'm going to focus on other things, hopefully not treading on any toes. Thank you David.moreno72 01:50, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Women of Rock Oral History Project
I'm a little confused- the sources I listed are reliable, secondary sources, entirely independent from Smith College and the oral history collection. I deliberately excluded any articles or interviews conducted by Smith College. The Women of Rock Oral History Project is a collection of personal and professional biographies documenting the lives of women rock musicians. This is an academic, educational, archival project, housed at a major institution so it is not something that would appear in a major popular rock music publication. These interviews are available to the public and are valuable primary source materials that could greatly serve Wikipedia's gender discrepancy. The project is notable because it is the first of its kind in the country and this is noted in the references I posted- I was being careful about not using promotional language in the text.
I will work on linking the interviewees to their Wikipedia pages.

Hi David.moreno72, this is Anton Mundinger. I have working in the George Pepper (film producer) Wikipedia entry to make it better (with more reliable sources) so it can be accepted by the editors . Would you have a minute to have a look? I'd really appreciate it. I must confess I am a bit lost with the different methods to contribute to Wikipedia - but I am a big fan of the project - free and open for everybody with internet access. Thanks in advance.

Why is Matthijs Otterloo's page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Matthijs_Otterloo) rejected? In my opinion it does adequately show the subject's notability, with enough press mentions, his verified status on Twitter and the times he was seen on Dutch television.
Hi, David,

Ned Kelly
Hi. Please list the errors, incorrect quotations and incorrect labels. Thanks. - HappyWaldo (talk) 07:39, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi HappyWaldo.
- Your first edit, listing in chronological order, great work.
- Your second edit, has incorrectly labelled the portraits. You have Scanlan and McIntyre mixed up, which is surprising since the portrait which you removed was of McIntyre. Your own mistake is one of the reasons why McIntyre deserves his own portrait. If you look on the internet it is very common that the policemen are incorrectly labelled. Wikipedia should be a reliable source where people can reliably depend on who they were. Their portraits also deserve some respect. The three that were murdered should be all together, and the lone survivor, should receive special recognition as his evidence was the linchpin in the trial. If you wish to remove the portrait of McIntyre, counter to the current consensus of adding images achieved through two seperate RfC's, you will need to raise your own RfC.
- Your third edit uses an unreliable source that has mistranscribed the quote. The current source is the handwritten letter, and what is currently in the article is word for word. If you wish to dispute the originality of the Cameron letter, may I suggest that you take that up with the Victorian Public Record Office.
- Your fourth edit removed an image that was the result of a consensus achieved as a result of previous RfC. You cannot remove it without another RfC. (Given that you participated in the RfC, you cannot claim ignorance.)
- Your fifth edit was the unexplained decropping of the Aaron Sherritt image. The crop enables a better viewing of the subjects face.
- Given your reckless and wilful disregard for the RfC process and the consensus that has already been achieved, on multiple occasions, any further edits where consensus has not been reached, will be reverted as vandalism, and you will be immediately reported. Thank you David.moreno72 08:46, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
- I can recognize Scanlan and McIntyre apart, simply made a mistake in captioning image. If the Stringybark Creek section was cleaned up, there wouldn't be room for so many images. Very minor differences in transcription of Cameron letter. My gripe was with the removal of the quote box. Also I explained the Sherritt crop: "full image". Might it be worthwhile to have the full, original image available? Yes, you won the RFCs, and for that the article circles the drain just that little bit faster. You have treated it like it's an actual Wiki devoted to Ned Kelly, not part of an encyclopaedia with universal readership. It would be nice to see the page meet the criteria for a good article nom, but that would mean altering or undoing a lot of your work. As of now I can't be bothered dealing with the drama that would result from that. - HappyWaldo (talk) 10:12, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I hope to resubmit this article, but I wanted to know more specifically why it was declined and what I can do to fix this. You mentioned it was because a lack of notability so I have added more to that; however, I was wondering if you could possibly explain in more depth what this means? I have read over the wiki pages that are given as references for help, however, I need a little more. Thank you so much for your time! Samantha Jensen
Skj288 (talk) 18:41, 18 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Skj288. The article was declined as it had no inline references. There should be at least three references that have 'significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject'. It should then be possible for someone else to recreate the article based on those references. For instance, the current reference does not even mention ABXY Studios. Another issue is that the article is full of external links. External links ONLY belong in the External links section, and should only relate to the subject. The history section is about the history of Barker and not about the history of ABXY Studios. The main issue though is I don't think that the studio is notable. When I did a Google search there was no significant coverage in secondary sources. A Google trends search for 'ABXY art gallery' came up with 'Hmm, your search doesn't have enough data to show here.' That strongly indicates that the subject is not notable and is not suitable for a Wikipedia page. Sorry about that. David.moreno72 00:48, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi David! I see the issues you mentioned and I will edit those for sure. There are more than 3 independent sources that have done articles on the studio, I just did not have them in the sources place, so I will fix that. If you do a google search, the first five are actually of the studio and of other places where the art from ABXY is located, so I am not sure what google search you were doing. Because it just opened, there is more things published now, verses when I first sent in the article. If I fix the issues you mentioned, will it be possible to resubmit it for an edit? And no, I am not asking you to review it now, just if it will be possible to resubmit after edits? Thank you so much! -Samantha Jensen

- Hi Skj288. I have reviewed your article and it is still not suitable. The problem is that it still does not contain any 3rd party, independent references about the subject, which is an absolute requirement to establish notability. References 1-7 are all written by the owner of the gallery and so are not independent. References 8-14 are about exhibits or the artists, and not about the studio. The only reference actually about the studio is reference 15, but it is an interview with the owner, and so it is not independent. Please read WP:IS and please do not submit until there are at least three 3rd party and independent references that are about the studio. Thank you David.moreno72 00:56, 21 October 2017 (UTC)

inline references
The need for inline references only applies to BLPs and to controversial or disputed information. Please do not use it in other cases. And in any case, it is not usially the key problem which is more likely to be lack of sufficient substantial reliable sources for notability. The purppse of AfC review is to prevent articles from being entered that will inevitable fail WFD. Its easy to move references inline, if that;s the only problem, and it can be done in mainspace--articles do not generally get deleted at AfD for this problem. . I am confused, first you said i needed more inline references now you left a message saying ' The problem is not inline references. You said that I need to prove the notability of my text by having substancial reliable sources. You also said that my article goes too in depth for a player which wants to play the game. More reliable sources means more research, therefore lading to more in-depth text. What do I need to do?
- L weiwei yt since I was the last person to decline the article, I should clear up the confusion. So:
- I looked at it again. In fact, the CBC and techcrunch sources taken together are sufficient to show notability; I should not have said otherwise.
- As for the excess detail, I see you removed some of it. But in this article the remainder of the content seems supported not by the references , but your personal judgment. That is not how a WP article can be written. Though you do not have to reference every fact in detail, you need to do it at least approximately, enough so the reader can see that it is what third party published sources have said, not your opinion--and you must remove all that is just your opinion.
- The facts about how many episodes/stories/viewers there have been is something that does need a specific reference--and a specific date to which the figures apply.
- In the reviews section, miscellaneous individual reviews on a web forum are not satisfactory references--they need to be actually published by a reliable source.
- The entire section of detail about a particular game is entirely inappropriate and should be removed entirely.
- and you ought to enter the sources in the standard format using the reference template on the editor. See WP:REFBEGIN for the details--it makes them more convincing, DGG ( talk ) 16:20, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
- {{U|DGG} Well, the entire section of 'Emerald' is by self-judgement since it's a story within Episode and has nearly no information it on the Internet except the story's blurb. Should I post the same thing which I had posted for Emerald onto Wiki FANDOM first, then copy and paste it back here so it can be sourced? The rest of the article however, could all be sourced. The section on Reviews are all 'fan-based' so I'm not sure whether I should delete the entire section. Is a source reference at the end of every paragraph sound sufficient? Thanks a lot.

Kelly
"In 1869, while a teenager, Kelly was arrested for assaulting a Chinese merchant. In 1870 he was arrested for highway robbery in the association with the bushranger Harry Power and later that year for assaulting a hawker. In 1871 he was convicted of receiving a stolen horse and imprisoned for two and a half years. In his early twenties he led the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft." Is it not apparent to you how stilted and tedious this is? It's like it was written by an autistic robot (no offense). Also it's redundant to note that Kelly was a teenager in 1869 (his birth date appears in opening sentence and people can count). Per MOS:INTRO there is simply not enough room to list comparatively minor events like the scuffle with Ah Fook. Unlike the Stringybark murders, it is not an essential part of the story. I've changed the citation and reworded it to state that a teenage Kelly "joined" the Greta mob rather than led it. - HappyWaldo (talk) 08:55, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Tomorrow I'm going to go through secondary sources (many of them listed in the largely unused bibliopgraphy section I added) and get to the bottom of the Greta mob timeline. If it turns out that Kelly joined the mob in his twenties, then I would suggest the following tweak: "While a teenager, Kelly was arrested for associating with bushranger Harry Power, and later joined the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft." I appreciate the corrections you've made and leave them be once verified. You clearly know a lot about the Kelly story. However I do take issue with the addition of minor crimes and events to the lead, eg scuffle with Ah Fook. I think the Harry Power association and Greta mob connection paint a good enough picture of Kelly's early criminal activity, don't you agree? From what I've read, family members fell under the sympathiser umbrella, so I removed "family" per WP:TERSE. But if you think it's necessary to single out relatives, then I don't really have anything against it. We both want the best for the page so I'm willing to discuss and reach some kind of compromise before any future changes/reverts. - HappyWaldo (talk) 13:37, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
- Do you have a copy of Peter Fitzsimons' Kelly biography? Pages 104 through 112 are devoted to the Greta mob. 1877 seems to be the year it gestated. Ned would have been in his early twenties at this time. So you are correct. If it's alright with you, I'll change the reference and add that Kelly "later" joined the mob. - HappyWaldo (talk) 05:47, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi HappyWaldo, any mention of the Greta mob has to be after he was released for receiving a stolen horse, so that it is in chronological order. My suggestion is, 'While a teenager, Kelly was arrested for associating with bushranger Harry Power, He was convicted of receiving a stolen horse in 1871 and imprisoned for two and a half years. In his early twenties he went on to join the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft.' But I'm still not happy as it is giving undue weight to only two of his early crimes and his "Greta mob" involvement is not even mentioned elsewhere in the article, a violation of WP:LEAD where it says 'Apart from basic facts, significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article.' I'm happy though to compromise and keep it in if you can compromise with the following suggestion. So per WP:LEAD, 'Like in the body of the article itself, the emphasis given to material in the lead should roughly reflect its importance to the topic', his first run in with the police with a charge of highway robbery is important to the topic. Also, his assault on a hawker in which he received a prison term is also important. ALL serious charges like assault and highway robbery, especially where a term of imprisonment is involved deserve to be noted in the lede, and yes I do agree that minor crimes such as 'riding over a footpath' should not be in the lede. In the spirit of cooperation, I'm sure that you could create some prose that saliently incorporates all of his early notable crimes. Also, you will need to remove the existing reference as it does not even mention the 'Greta mob'. If you wish to replace it with the FitzSimons biography, I am more than happy. Speaking of the FitzSimons book, the front cover https://d3cxckyc3pu9pz.cloudfront.net/images/9781742758909.jpg has an excellent picture of the 'Kelly log'. Given that FitzSimons thought it notable enough to be on the front cover of his book it is a travesty that it is not currently on the page. Also, in future please do not revert good faith edits per WP:ONLYREVERT, do not misrepresent sources per WP:DISRUPTSIGNS or exceed 3RR as per WP:3RR, it is very disruptive. I look forward to your suggestion. Thank you David.moreno72 07:54, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'll try come up with a sentence or two that efficiently and chronologically covers all of Ned's pre-outlaw criminal activity and run it by you. You are right to point out that the lead should reflect the content of the article body. Would you like to weave in some stuff about the Greta mob? And I thought this was the Kelly log (image can be seen in the capture and release of hostages section). As far as I'm aware the log itself no longer exists. - HappyWaldo (talk) 08:33, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- How's this for a condensed version of his early criminal career: "While a teenager, Kelly was arrested for associating with bushranger Harry Power, and later joined the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft.[1] He served several prison terms for a variety of crimes, the longest stretch being from 1871 to 1874 on a conviction of receiving a stolen horse, resisting arrest and fighting with police." - HappyWaldo (talk) 00:17, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- @HappyWaldo: Putting the Harry Power and Greta Mob so close together implies that he was still a teenager when he joined. The Jones book says that he joined the Greta Mob just before the Stringybark murders. I don't have access to FitzSimons book, so he may say different. So trying not to have too much weight on his early charges, for which he wasn't convicted, what do you think of this revision, which also includes a bit of his 'going straight'. 'While a teenager, Kelly was arrested and charged for a variety of crimes including highway robbery, assault and associating with bushranger Harry Power, but wasn't convicted. In 1870 he was sentenced to a 6 month prison term, and later the next year for 3 years on a conviction of receiving a stolen horse. Upon release Kelly worked as a labourer and was the overseer for the Burkes Holes sawmill. After the injustices of the Fitzpatrick incident, he joined the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft.' Regards. David.moreno72 03:53, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- I think the size and detail of your proposal lends Kelly's early crimes undue weight. There's nothing all that notable about them, other than the fact that they were committed by Kelly. Anyone else with a criminal record ending before the Stringybark murders would have faded into oblivion by now. We need to provide the background but move on quickly to the real meat of the matter. For the sake of clarity and ease of reading, I think two sentences are necessary: one to cover Kelly's early criminal connections (Harry Power, Greta mob), and one for his crimes and stints in prisons. That's what I attempted with my proposal. - HappyWaldo (talk) 05:24, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- @HappyWaldo: How about this then, which is even shorter, but is most importantly, in chronological order. 'While a teenager, Kelly was arrested for associating with bushranger Harry Power. He served two prison terms for a variety of offences, the longest stretch being from 1871 to 1874 on a conviction of receiving a stolen horse. He would later join the "Greta mob", a group of bush larrikins known for stock theft.[1]' David.moreno72 05:44, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- That works for me. Glad we could arrive at this compromise. - HappyWaldo (talk) 10:11, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi David, it seems you deleted The Globe Post page today because of several factors such as it failed to provide references for its notability. I am not really sure in what format references should be provided since there was only a single line in the page.
The website was referenced by dozens of university pages -- which are one of the most reliable websites. Washington Post, Reuters, MSNBC, Huffington Post are some of the websites that referenced The Globe Post. Yesterday, a global coalition against ISIS shared The Globe Post's story. Today, U.S. State Department shared one of its stories. I would be happy to share those links with you if you want. I just don't know how to put references on its Wikipedia page. I believe there is a growing interest in The Globe Post, but Wikipedia editors are not allowing it to present itself.
I am more than happy to provide additional information why it is notable -- such as its mission to train journalists, its vast global network -- but I didn't include those lines just because you would tag it as advertising. Please advise -- what else should I write to avoid it to be advertising or how I can put more references? I wrote one single line just to avoid any type of violation and now you are saying that it fails to show as a notable company. When I write what the company is, it fails because it allegedly is advertising. What is the solution then?

The link to reference has to be just "https://www.fcc.gov" because their website doesn't have more detailed URL due to use of the inquiry mode of finding data on their website
