July 2023
[edit] Hello, I'm Ss112. I noticed that you made one or more edits to an article, King Von discography, concerning the updates of review statistics, box office numbers, sports statistics, or some other frequently updated data with a fixed web address, but you did not update the |access-date=
parameter in the citation template. The |access-date=
parameter is the full date when the content pointed to by the URL was last verified to be working and supporting the text being cited in the article. This means that the parameter needs to be updated whenever the content is updated. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cover art
[edit]So I was wondering... how'd you get the cover art for video game articles I've written? Is it allowed by copyright law to upload cover art? I'd really like to contribute to these types of articles. Thanks, TarantulaTM (speak with me) (my legacy) 14:10, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- You could upload files here. WP:File upload wizard. Most video game cover art is usually copyrighted and not released under a free license, so you'd choose the option to upload a non-free image. Then you have to follow the steps provided so you can upload it. Make sure the image also meets WP:NFCC. DaCrashy (talk) 21:41, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- Another question: do you have to get the cover art from the official website (like you did with Only Up! where you got it from the Steam page)? TarantulaTM (speak with me) (my legacy) 14:04, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
- You could probably get cover art from most marketplaces such as Steam. You could also get it from official websites if you want. DaCrashy (talk) 20:40, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

"Declining speedy. Article wasn't created by this user." Except it was - in contravention of a block for socking - User:Imakewikipedianpages is a sock of both User:Caucasian127 and User:NormalguyfromUK - the master, in fact. Can you please reinstate? Ta! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 11:53, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, I just found that out. These articles are about similar topics as well. I was just confused because Imakewikipedianpages user page didn't say he was blocked, so actually I think does seem to valid for CSD then. DaCrashy (talk) 11:58, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- You can delete the block notification from a talk page. Trick is to look up the user contributions/logs - see here. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 12:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yep, I do see that. It does say "Blocked with an expiration time of indefinite". Thank you for pointing that out. Next time I should probably look at that. DaCrashy (talk) 12:06, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- No problemo. They've been pretty active and very socky for quite a while now!!! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 12:11, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit]I find it hard to believe you’re only thirteen… no offense but how the heck do you already have a beard? And you’re surprisingly mature for your age too, based on your behavior on Wikipedia. 79.153.226.3 (talk) 05:46, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah I know (I tend to get comments like that both on the internet and personally). I'm not sure about how I got my beard. I been on Wikipedia for a year btw, so I have an understanding of how things work 'round here :) DaCrashy (T.C.) 06:05, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

GIFs and that kinda stuff
[edit]How do you make a GIF (like the one you made for the article Only Up!)? TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 14:46, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- It really isn't that hard tbh. I just found a YouTube video and screen recorded the part I wanted to put in the GIF. Then I converted the video to a GIF using EZGif. Just make sure the image is relatively small in size (small enough to meet WP:IMAGERES) because for some reason, whenever a bot automatically reduces the size, it removes the frames of the GIF for some reason, so keep that in mind.
