- Hi Jamiebuba - Thanks for taking pains to review my re-submission of the Maxim Sonin article. Compared to the previous version, I added references to two independent sources, two reviews of Sonin's novels, both by noted literary critics. The first review, by Konstantin Kropotkin, is a part of a general article on the state of the LGBTQ literature in Russia, but it devotes 7 paragraphs to the Sonin's novel. The second review, by Edouard Lukoyanov, is a full review article that is 100% focused on the Sonin's second novel. Gorky.media is the largest Russian literary magazine, which reviews less than a dozen books a month, so a full article review is a sign of notability. I thought this satisfy the requirement for notability for authors writing not in English. Cyclik (talk) 19:01, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Summer in a Pioneer Tie—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 05:35, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- I changed the translation of the book title "A Summer in a Pioneer Tie" to "A Summer in the Red Scarf" as the previous one was misleading. The word "scarf" has been used for the object it refers to from the first day of the USSR Young Pioneers organization, which borrowed the "scarves" from Boy Scout organizations. A "red scarf" is a historically common and exact translation for what the character (a young pioneer) wears in the book.
- I am less sure about "a scarf" or "the scarf", yet the second "the scarf" has been traditionally used in English-language titles for this purpose. Cyclik (talk) 05:42, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
