@Furius: The article doesn't already exist, firstly the Ashburnham and Penhurst article is about both parishes which should be split and secondly "Ashburnham and Penhurst" doesn't exist as a civil parish anyway only as a joint council and should probably not exist. Yes, you're right - I was too hasty with this. I see that with other cases of joint councils we have articles for the individual constituents (e.g. Brandon and Bretford, Broughton and Milton Keynes Parish Council) and that most of the data ends up on the constituents' pages. In that case, I guess that we need to migrate most of the material from Ashburnham and Penhurst to the articles on Penhurst and Ashburnham which are currently redirects (disambiguators aren't necessary if there are no other places of the same name, which seems to be the case with both of these). @Furius: Yes the content of the draft can be moved to the Penhurst redirect and then the draft can be redirected (and possibly history merged) since indeed it doesn't need disambiguation, you could accept the draft and then tag it to be history merged. Indeed the rest of the material from Ashburnham and Penhurst should be moved to Ashburnham, East Sussex (Ashburnham is a DAB page so disambiguation appears nessesarry) and then the "Ashburnham and Penhurst" can probably be redirected there. The confusion here is that these are 2 different civil parishes with a single council and while civil parishes (current or former) will meet WP:GEOLAND as legally recognized councils that are only councils probably don't since they probably don't satisfy WP:ORG and can probably just redirect to the largest CP they cover. Hi Crouch, hope your doing well. I was wondering in your opinion could the following areas have a similar page to the County Durham and Borough of Middlesbrough pages?

• [Nottingham]
• [East Riding of Yorkshire]
• [Liverpool]

and

• [Manchester]

so there is a difference between for Nottingham, Liverpool and Manchester the main settlement and the wider city borough as I know Manchester does crossover into some local authorities in Greater Manchester as well as Liverpool with Merseyside. Nottingham has West Bridgford, Bulwell, Arnold and Beeston nearby. And East Riding, Blackpool and Shropshire could cover the wider boroughs like Shropshire with Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Bridgnorth and Church Stretton. East Riding with Beverley, Goole, Hessle and Bridlington and Blackpool with any outlining villages or notable settlements with civil parishes? Maybe also Derby, Leicester and Lincoln could?

@RailwayJG: I'm doing fine thankyou, I hope you are to. East Riding of Yorkshire and Shropshire could be split like County Durham. Blackpool, Liverpool and Nottingham are single unparished areas which as you say the settlements include suburbs that aren't in the district but the convention seems to be that we don't split, see Wikipedia:WikiProject UK subdivisions/English districts#Principals does the district contain an urban core, some inner suburbs, possibly without all its surrounding suburbs? probably this should not be split, as these tight borders are historic. With Manchester this case is different since it does include Ringway parish but I'd expect that given the complexity of Manchester and the fact that the term is usually used to refer to a larger area (namely the Greater Manchester built-up area) that splitting would likely cause more confusion but in any case a discussion would probably be needed. (talk page stalker)To be honest, Crouch, Swale, I'm not sure why you don't just create these articles directly into article mainspace, unless you're deliberately trying to show how inadequate the AfC process sometimes is ;) This village/civil parish is clearly suitable for its own article. I'm not even sure if it's appropriate to have a joint article about the two villages, apart from the tenuous reason they currently share a parish council. Sionk (talk) 12:13, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

@Clarityfiend and Sionk: As Sionk notes the parish is clearly notable and both parishes should have their own separate articles and the joint parish article should probably be redirected to the larger one (or the district like on Commons). Clarityfiend the submission can be accepted and then history merged with the old Penhurst article and I'll move the Penhurst content from the joint parish to the draft. @TheBirdsShedTears: What is unclear, although the sources may just have 1 fact per source the place passes WP:GEOLAND as a legally recognized place. There isn't generally a requirement to have pages and pages of text about a place but in any case in the listed buildings references and British History Online there is pages of text about places in the parish. The first reference talks about Hereford, Herefordshire along with Munsley which is unclear if Munsley is a place, lake, or any other things. The 2nd reference returns with an error

The 3rd reference is displaying a map which is not sufficient at all. The 4th reference showing a piece of text

Aylton, Little Marcle, Munsley, Pixley

which makes it more questionable.

Add just 2 references than loading with pointless refs.

@TheBirdsShedTears: Yes the 1st reference is just for location but the 2nd reference did used to work (until 2017) and there's no requirement that a URL is still working per WP:KDL. The source gives the population which clearly satisfies WP:GEOLAND and anyway there's a working URL here.
