Ways to improve History of radiation protection
[edit]Hello, Crismorera18,
Thank you for creating History of radiation protection.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This page is way, way too long and covers too many topics. It should be split up into multiple pages, and some parts may already be elsewhere. For instance, microwave radiation and smart phones don't belong in a page with a large focus on hard radiation (alpha/beta/gamma).
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ldm1954}}
. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~

[edit]Hello, Crismorera18. Thank you for your work on History of radiation protection. Ldm1954, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:
A good start, but this page has major issues. It covers too many different topics, and should be split into multiple sports pages. Some of these will remain, others such as the smart phone speculation belong as part of other pages -- and are probably already there.

Paid editing
[edit]Your user page indicates that you are being paid to edit. However, you are not following our paid editing or conflict of interest guidelines. Paid editors should not directly create or edit articles in mainspace. Rather, proposed new articles should be created as a draft and reviewed by articles for creation, and proposed paid edits to existing articles should be made as edit requests, so that non-COI editors may review them. Please ensure to follow these requirements going forward, as continued violations of these requirements are likely to lead to a block from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:29, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, please note that you need to make your paid editing disclosure using {{paid}} for each article you were paid to edit. The disclosure on your user page is not sufficient. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:49, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Castlereagh Canning duel
[edit]Hello, as I tried to publish my own translation of my article (I am the main author) today I was in a for a shock to see someone else already did that. Now I have to bear the consequences because I was intend to have it as my own work and then to guide it through the process of a nomination as a featured article - so I am not in the happiest of moods. Now, what is done is done. But I would like to ask you that you don't translate more of my articles, because I fully intend to do that on my own, now that I left the german wikipedia. Michael G. Lind (talk) 11:45, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Michael G. Lind,
- As part of the OKA project, we are currently translating all featured and good articles from all Wikipedias into English. That's several thousands articles, most of which were several years old, which is why yours was picked up. I'm sorry that we translated an article that you were planning to translate yourself -- we were only trying to help expose the great quality content you published to more people. Could you provide us with a list of the articles you intend to translate? I'll then make sure to exclude these from our backlog 7804j (talk) 14:13, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- I have come across this exchange, Michael G. Lind, in connection with my interest in translations by those connected with OKA. I am fluent in German and appreciate the many contributions your have made to the German wiki. I should however bring to your attention that Wikipedia relies on wide collaboration. Articles created by any editor can be improved or translated by any other contributor. Under Wikipedia's terms of use, articles do not belong any individual. If you wish to improve the English translation of Castlereagh-Canning duel, you are of course free to do so but from your editing history on the English wiki, it does not appear that you have a record of B-class or higher achievement. May I suggest that instead you encourage the translation of your articles by OKA contributors so that English-language readers can benefit from your enterprising work. If you can subsequently come in and make further improvements, so much the better. And if you really do intend to work on improvements to the English version for GA nomination (or higher), please let me know. I might be able to help you along. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 16:43, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, since this is en.wiki in english: Now, after the process of cooling down, let's have a restart. So, I am fully aware that "my articles" do not belong to "me". I didn't know the project OKA (interesting and fascinating as it is, I absolutely love the idea). Maybe both of you are able to imagine that I was shell-shocked to find the translation I just wanted to publish. The work being done, I spent some hours with last weekend. Also I instantly saw some trouble on the horizon. Because in de.wiki I was the main author and of course I have the expertise to guide the article through the process of a candidacy here, but now - technically speaking - Crismorera18 is the main author and I am going to need his approval. You have my blessing to translate some of my articles, just ask beforehand and let us coordinate our efforts so my very own efforts are not abundant, okay? For instance, articles like Granita Deal / Midlothian-Kampagne / Stanley Baldwin shall be left out, I would love to do this all alone. Carlton-Club-Treffen 1922, Robert Stewart Viscount Castlereagh / Andrew Bonar Law / Anthony Eden / Harold Macmillan shall be yours. Concerning H.H. Asquith (imho my best one) I would advise you to be very careful, since the en.article is a huge work, indeed in some parts voluptuous. In my opinion one needs to thighten it up a bit to improve the article - which is not an enviable task, one needs to know the stuff. Happy editing!--Michael G. Lind (talk) 12:05, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- We don't usually expand articles that already exist in English, as it is harder to reconcile with existing content. The 3 you mentioned (and the other ones listed after that) already have an EN version, so we were not planning to translate them. Therefore I don't expect there will be any other conflict with the articles you are planning to work on
- We are of course happy to let you lead the candidacy process and give any approval you may need for it.7804j (talk) 14:31, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
