Kennedy image
Regarding this edit, could you take a moment to explain to me why the badly framed and cropped official photo is a better choice for the Joe Kennedy III infobox than the closer-cropped and more aesthetically pleasing version of the official photo? I'd appreciate it, because in all honesty, I can't think of one good reason why you would change it. Thanks. -- ψλ ● ✉ ✓ 01:49, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Winkelvi: The standard, as I was told, has always been that we use full version from the official's website, no matter how badly cropped their photo is. I say "as I was told" because I, too, tried to change a badly cropped photo about a year ago (though I can't remember exactly who or what article) and was told we use the full version no matter what. I would suggest starting a discussion on Kennedy's talk page (maybe RFC?) and get a consensus. This is definitely a problem throughout the American politicians articles (i.e. Maxine Waters, Kamala Harris). Hope that helps? Corky 20:17, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding. I've heard previously that the official photo is generally preferable but I can't say I've heard that the official photo, if badly done, cannot be edited. It is, after all, in the public domain and can legally be edited. In this case, I think the official photo is less than optimal because of the poor framing and cropping and see no reason why we can't use the cropped version. After all, it's still the official photo, just a better version of it. Yes, I could run an RfC on it. But those can take up to 30 days, and honestly, I just see the need for it. Why not just suffice it to say that two editors who are fine with the photo have boldly decided that the cropped version is the better of the two? -- ψλ ● ✉ ✓ 00:51, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
- Go for it, Winkelvi. Just do the same for other articles, too. Corky 01:55, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

Shaun Vandiver infobox
Hey Corky - Vandiver had a significant playing career and really should be in the Basketball biography infobox vs the college coach infobox so his measurements, draft info, and European playing career are captured. I don’t mind doing the conversion, but I wanted to let you know as a courtesy since I know you have done the bulk of the work on the article. Thoughts? This would lose record and salary from the infobox, but add more playing career detail. Rikster2 (talk) 14:49, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm good with the infobox change... his playing career was probably much better than his coaching career and IMO he is being over paid! Both don't deserve to be in the infobox... I just did it to be consistent with other ESU coaches. It's very likely this is his last season (or the Hornet Nation can hope 😁). I'll let you do the conversion if that's good with you? Corky 16:01, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I’ll take care of it. Thanks! Rikster2 (talk) 18:35, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

MIAA Tournament article?
Hey - a while back an editor created conference tournament articles for a number of Division I and Division II conferences (example). I was a little surprised that he didn’t create one for the MIAA since it is one of the stronger leagues. Would you be interested? Not sure individual tournaments are notable, but the conference tournament as a whole is. Rikster2 (talk) 14:17, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Rikster2: Yeah, I can do that. It's been on my to-do list for a while! I'll try and start working on it within the next week. Corky 17:13, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
Newman
So I've been out of commission for a little while so I am wondering what "affiliate member" means? Are they going to be basically an unofficial full member? In any case. [1]–UCO2009bluejay (talk) 20:29, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- @UCO2009bluejay: Yes, that's basically it. Newman will leave the Heartland Conference after the 2018–19 season to become an "associate member" of The MIAA which means they will participate in all sports, with the exception of football; "affiliate members" only participate in one sport. The MIAA, according to its commissioner, is currently looking at "removing a requirement that member schools must sponsor football in order to be a full MIAA member institution". More than likely, Newman will become a full member within the next five years... Hope that helps! Corky 20:51, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Okay thanks, I know this isn't a forum but the MIAA needs to get rid of that rule if SBU and LU are in the GLVC for football. (Now look for the 16th member.)UCO2009bluejay (talk) 20:57, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, I completely agree! The commissioner has already been changing things over the past year I've noticed (news releases, graphics, staff, etc)... I expect more over the year! Now the question is... who should be the 16th member?! Corky 21:05, 13 February 2018 (UTC)

Joseph Cella is not a career member of the state department
Cella has never worked for the State department. He was Trump's liason for Catholic affairs during the campaign. Once again you would have known this if you had bothered to actually visit the link. Nowhere is it described that Cella has ever served in the state department. Although he has worked for Congress for 20 years. The CSUMB athletics primary logo? TjBison (talk) 03:14, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- @TjBison: Yeah, look all over their website, publications, social media, etc. It's not rocket science. That's why I had placed the "MB" logo in the article in the first place. Corky 03:26, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- This and this. TjBison (talk) 03:32, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- OK, so? Just as it is with article names, we use the commonly used logo rather than the "official" logo. Sometimes, they start re-branding before they update their websites... it's been known to happen. It's pretty clear they use the MB logo over the otter head. It's the most recognizable. Corky 03:46, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- Also, you need to learn WP:BRD. You made the change, I reverted, now discuss it and get an agreement. Otherwise, you're edit warring. Corky 03:49, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- Please be aware that the Otter logo and MB logo are "official" logos of CSUMB athletics. And didn't you call me out of not using primary logo? Can you provide a reliable source that the Athletics dept has in fact re-branded?
- I'm aware he Otther logo is an official logo, but they hardly use it anymore. As I've said before, we use the more commonly recognizable logos. In this case, its's the MB logo as that is what is used most often – I think that's pretty clear. To make it clear to you, I've posted links below:
- Please be aware that the Otter logo and MB logo are "official" logos of CSUMB athletics. And didn't you call me out of not using primary logo? Can you provide a reliable source that the Athletics dept has in fact re-branded?

- Well that should do for now. Should I list more? Can you provide a reliable source that Central Connecticut has rebranded to the logo you replaced it with? I say change CC's back now as it looks like they use that more often. Corky 16:20, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- I looked into the discussion about the Cleveland Cavaliers logo and the census seem to be that primary logo should be presented in the infobox over secondary/alternate logos despite the team's choice of logo for their social media accounts.
Now regarding the CCSU athletic logo, they have not re-branded as far as I can search on their news. I tried to replace the current CCSU primary logo with the secondary one as it was and is "commonly used" within the athletics website. But then you reverted it because it is not the primary.
So now going back to CSUMB, if you can provide a reliable source that they have indeed re-branded then we shall keep the MB logo as the logo on the infobox; otherwise we should change it to the actual primary logo. TjBison (talk) 01:23, 17 February 2018 (UTC)- I'm not changing my mind on CSUMB. As I've said before, there is enough evidence to show that they don't use the Otter logo. The reason the Cavaliers have the logo it does now is because it was commonly used (as shown in my comments) and was the primary identifier for the team when that discussion took place. This is the way we've always done it. I've already agreed to revert my Central Connecticut revert as I've noticed it is not commonly used anymore. So once again, I'm not changing my mind on this. Maybe you could start a RFC on the talk page and see what others think. I certainly will post every piece of evidence I can to show my case, as should you if you go that route. USCIS mission statement
Please explain why you undid my entry on the page United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The revision to the mission statement was a major news story, covered by all major media. Why is this not relevant information for the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Taquim (talk • contribs)

. As for my reason, I removed it per WP:MISSION and WP:UNDUE. If you want it added, you can now take it to the talk page of the article for others to weigh in on their opinions. Corky 04:11, 24 February 2018 (UTC)- Actually, this is why came here too. Just to be clear, you've boldly removed content, (sourced content at that) and anyone who disagrees with you can revert you. It then falls to you to explain your edits on the talk page and seek consensus. WP:MISSION is an essay... and nothing more. It is not a policy or even a guideline. I would suggest you slow down on these mass removals, perhaps even restore them for now, and start a discussion on the validity of wp:mission and if it should be implemented. This will help cut down on potential disputes and disruption. - theWOLFchild 04:31, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Would you have a look at Claudia Tenney? Also Anthony Brindisi if you have a chance. Thanks. Marquardtika (talk) 03:44, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Marquardtika: What's the main issue on those pages that you're wanting me review? Corky 03:50, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- I'm concerned about WP:NOTNEWS, WP:UNDUE, and WP:NPOV issues, specifically with regards to the 2018 election content. In general, I don't believe it's encyclopedic to cover the constant "he said/she said" that is part and parcel of all campaigns, and that most coverage of individual elections should be on the election pages, not the candidate pages. Marquardtika (talk) 03:53, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll take a look this evening or tomorrow and let you know my thoughts. Corky 06:02, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Tenney is probably in for a very tough reelection race from Brindisi, and she has made numerous remarks in the past month that have drawn considerable national attention. You can Google her name and "Parkland shooting," "un-American," (regarding the State of the Union speech), and "character" or "domestic violence" with "Rob Porter" and probably will see 100,000 or more hits on each. From a backwater congressional district, she's thrust herself into the national limelight on three occasions in less than a month. She's having trouble raising dough in what should be a cakewalk for an incumbent. I haven't seen anyone comment on the irony, but she's an attorney who's disparaged attorney Brindisi because his attorney father represented some alleged goombahs before he was born, 40-some-odd years ago, and even though he gave up his criminal practice in 1983. It's hardly "he said, she said." Activist (talk) 07:08, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Marquardtika and Activist: Anthony Brindisi#2018 Congressional election certainly lacked references. Two references for one section and one reference having seven sentences... seriously? I think it certainly needed trimmed... which I removed a good chunk unsourced information. Removed the same info in Claudia's article. MelanieN has started a section at Talk:Claudia Tenney#Sins of the donors you may be interested in... citing WP:UNDUE reasons as well. She's more experienced in this matter than I am, but I have to say I agree it should probably be removed... Corky 21:48, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Corky, I have invited the anon editor to discuss issues on the article's talk page. Hopefully everyone can talk through the matter.
The sentence that anon added is probably accurate, but as you point out it is not directly supported by the citations.

Acting as Predecessor
You said that "we've been listing them in the infoboxes for years" without using the Acting person. But I've seen several examples where that isn't true (for example - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bolden). And like I said, that's not how it's done on the official example page for this type of infobox. So is there a wikipedia rule you know of, because I couldn't find one. - It seems as if many politicians use the permanent predecessor, not the acting, and have in the past few years since I've been editing AFAIK. US Cabinet secretaries and other government officials do this. IMO, it makes most sense too... acting officials are only performing the duties of the permanent position, therefore aren't numbered (i.e. 46th Secretary of State). We should only include those who hold the permanent position. Corky 21:42, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Loyola Ramblers athletics style guide references
Hello, Corkythehornetfan (talk), I just thought I would inform you that I had added a URL reference for the Loyola Ramblers athletic teams at Module:College color/data, per LoyolaRamblers.com. The actual edit diff is found here. Feel free to change or remove it if you can find an actual style guide for the Ramblers' athletics teams. I have searched Google, but have come up empty. Maybe we should contact them directly and ask about it? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 02:04, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Charlesaaronthompson: That's fine, I couldn't find one either. More than likely they won't post one and I think the colors we have now (I extracted from the website) are fine.
- I would like to talk about this edit, though. You may want to check your email (again) that dates August 29, 2017 with the subject "Virginia Athletics brand". I forwarded you an email, which I believe you told me you received, that came directly from the Athletics Department. It is also the color they use at virginiasports.com. Corky 02:56, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, I just checked it. I couldn't remember if I had received it, but yes, I did. Sorry, I was only trying to help using what I thought was official sources, but the contents of that e-mail supersede the University of Virginia brand website, since the UVA brand website only really applies to the university itself, and not its athletics department. My mistake. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 03:04, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

List of Michigan State Spartans men's basketball seasons
The automatic set colors are no better at contrast issues than the ones I used. Additionally, at least one other page ha changed the colors to correlate with the team: Wisconsin. I don't see any need to keep them all the same and better contrasts is better I think. Lincolning (talk) 20:15, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Lincolning: The automatic colors may not be much better, but at least they are more compliant than manual colors being added. Those colors were not compliant, nor were Wisconsin's (which I just removed). Before people go adding these manual colors to the tables, I think we need to have a discussion on this either at the template's talk page or the WikiProject's talk page. Governor's Cup (Florida)
I've got no problem with you removing the team logos from the Governor's Cup (Florida) page, however you might want to go through other sports rivalry pages as well. I only added the logos because I'd seen it done elsewhere. (e.g. Bruins–Canadiens rivalry, Pearson Cup, Capitals–Flyers rivalry, Capitals–Rangers rivalry, Citrus Series, Yankees–Red Sox rivalry, Lone Star Series) Cheers, -Creativewill (talk) 00:17, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Creativewill: I've removed the logos from the Pearson Cup, Capitals–Flyers rivalry, Capitals–Rangers rivalry, and Citrus Series articles as at least one of the logos were non-free. Bruins, Yanks/Sox, and Lone Star are all public domain files, so the logos can stay. Thanks, Corky 01:02, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
2017–18 Big Ten Conference men's basketball season: color changes
Hey Corky, just wondering why you made the changes to the colors on 2017–18 Big Ten Conference men's basketball season? The colors as they were fell within the compliance protocol which states that it should reach at least WCAG 2.0's AA level, and AAA level when feasible. If nothing else, they look too much alike now, the color was a good differentiation. Lincolning (talk) 21:07, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Lincolning: Just because it is "at least 2.0", doesn't mean it is compliant. I'm not color blind (no where close to it), but Maryland sure isn't readable and Minnesota is difficult to read as well. Plus, we're not being consistent –
{{CollegePrimaryStyle}}
is being used for some and{{NCAA color cell}}
for others. Why not just use one? I've been using the secondary color to try and separate the colors so at least they will be compliant all around, not just 2.0. Corky 21:38, 28 March 2018 (UTC)- Most are fully compliant, the Iowa one in particular, see: Iowa. I agree the Maryland is less than great. I just think as long as they are compliant and confirm the actual color of the team, we should allow them. Lincolning (talk) 21:52, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, an I changed it to the gold background so that black and maroon wouldn't be so close together. IMO, if at least three WCAG boxes don't say "YES", then it isn't compliant. If the "are colors compliant?" box says "sort of...", then I usually accept that. In the end, I personally don't see the big deal if we don't have both school colors. Corky 22:35, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

- The websites won't likely change until tomorrow or sometime this week. The White House won't release anything, just like they didn't for Tillerson. The only announcement made was on Twitter. I'd like to just go revert them all until we have a source, however, I have learned that it's not worth the time to constantly revert because it will just be re-added. Sorry, mate! As a side note, the sectreayr does not have to give a speech before the acting can start... it's precedent that they give a speech but is not required. Corky 22:57, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
There appears to be a misunderstanding
First of all, “moron” was Tillerson’s quote. My edit summary just stated the content of what was being added. Second, I was reverting a bot, not a human editor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eminent Philosopher (talk • contribs) 22:46, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

I need your help
Hello Corkythehornetfan (talk), I was wondering if you could help me with something: I'm trying to update Template:2018 Villanova Wildcats men’s basketball navbox so it shows up at the bottom of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Game article. Where I need your help is in the template itself. I'm trying to update the template so that whenever a user clicks on the view or talk page part of the template in the left hand corner, it directs them to the template itself, and not a redlink. Please help? Thanks. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 19:31, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

issuing warnings
It helps our countervandalism effort if you issue warnings after reverting vandalism; Twinkle makes this very easy, too. You reverted vandalism by Jubresner but issued no warnings and many admins will refuse to block vandals whom haven't been sufficiently warned. I slapped the vandal in question with warnings and I believe that's brought it to an end, but we might have already achieved a block and prevented further vandalism for which I'm just going to have to keep an eye out. If you have a question about changing your Twinkle settings to semi-automate this, please ask. Thanks for your help. (I am not watching this page, so please ping me if you want my attention.) Chris Troutman (talk) 00:41, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Chris troutman: Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind. How do I change my Twinkle preferences to semi-automatically? Corky 02:25, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- From Wikipedia:Twinkle/Preferences, under Revert and rollback click some options for opening the vandal's talk page after you revert. Under Warn user you can set options for your default warning level and add any custom warning templates you like. (There are already a bunch of templates loaded.) That way, when you use Twinkle to revert vandalism it will open the offender's talk page, you select the warning and hit "submit". Maybe four clicks for the whole adventure. That dialog at the user talk page also has the option to report the editor to any of a couple drama boards for action, so a report can be submitted to AIV with diff attached after the fourth/final warning was given. There are also options for ANEW and SPI. I find it immensely useful. Chris Troutman (talk) 02:49, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, Chris troutman! I've gone ahead and updated the preferences. Corky 02:57, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Corkythehornetfan. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Alex Shih (talk) 07:13, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

broken citation templates
With this edit, you broke nine cs1 templates (search for the accessdate= text in the rendered page or turn on cs1|2 maintenance messaging. Please fix these and take more care when using scripts.
Scripts are problematic. They are assumed, rightly or wrongly, to produce correct results. Alas, this is not the case for all tools. I have found that reFill is prone to errors and its owner unresponsive. Every edit made by that tool should be carefully scrutinized for correctness.

Can you chime in on this for me
Hey I know you edit college basketball pages frequently and I'm looking for people to help me with a content dispute I'm having with an IP that seems to be never ending. It's regarding team pages that have a table listing the seed each year the team qualified for the tournament. This IP I am debating has added the years the team missed the tournament to several pages including (and what started this) the page for Kansas. Me and 2 other editors have not only stated the years missed serve no purpose for inclusion but also that it's a consensus not to include the years missed and the IP is not backing down. The debate is at Talk:Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball#Tournament Seeding History. Your input would be greatly appreciated!!--Rockchalk717 03:40, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing
Hello,
There will be some changes to the way wikitext is parsed during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at Special:LintErrors. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.
There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with misnested tags and table problems. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{infobox ship}} is parsed).
If you are interested in helping with this project, please see Wikipedia:Linter. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at WT:Linter if you have questions.
Thank you for all the good things you do for the English Wikipedia. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 19:05, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
University of Cambridge logo
Hi Corkythehornetfan,
Seems to be a bit of confusion re: the logo. My understanding of the situation is that it is a copyrighted logo, and therefore altering it is not good practice. In the portion used section it stipulates: "The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image." While I appreciate that the university coat of arms is displayed above, this is not the university logo. The purpose of the section at the bottom of the infobox is to display how the university brands itself. The university brands itself using the two elements (coat of arms, and wordmark) together without exception. Your decision to only include the wordmark was therefore not the university's. All of the ancient university pages and their infobox reflect this.
I hope that by explaining my position that we can avoid further edits. Thanks! Malinion (talk) 22:14, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Malinion: Thanks for reaching out. This is Wikipedia, we don't have to follow their "request" to keep the wordmark and coat of arms together. If anything, the coat of arms is copyrighted but the wordmark is not since it is just text. It serves of no value to have the coat of arms at both the top and bottom of the infobox... if you want the coat of arms and wordmark together, then I recommend removing the coat of arms from the top of the infobox. If you don't like that, then we can seek a consensus (RFC?) on the talk page. Hope that helps. Thanks, Corky 22:34, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Corkythehornetfan: Hey, thanks for the quick response. I can appreciate that we aren't bound to a company's guidelines for the usage of the logo. You make a good point about the copyrighted status of the logo which is why I was careful with my wording. This issue for me arises from the fact that I do not feel the wordmark holds any value for the reasons you just explained. Without the adjoining shield it is kind of redundant. I've popped a discussion up on the talk page just for the record before you responded, but I think an RfC would be good idea, even if it is just to avoid this sort of issue cropping up again. Thanks again. Malinion (talk) 22:44, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Malinion: I don't think commenting on the file's talk page will do any good. Hardly anyone but the editors of that page have it on their watchlist. I'd suggest having a discussion on the university's article talk page... Corky 22:50, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Self-published content
I am not sure why this was removed. There is still too much self-sourced content. Look at the "profile" section for example.Zigzig20s (talk) 07:24, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- Would you like to restore it? Then we'll have to fix the problem by replacing the self-published sources with articles in the press, etc. I think a couple of self-published sources is fine but not entire paragraphs!Zigzig20s (talk) 08:16, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hey, I did it and explained why in the edit summary. I also left a note at WP:Universities. Hopefully this will be fixed in time, although it may take time.Zigzig20s (talk) 15:00, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure why it was removed, ask Gilliam why they removed it. At least you've started a discussion so others can weigh in... I'm not big on tags at the top so I could go one wash or the other. Corky 16:35, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

Gina Haspel
Hi Corkythehornetfan Some people are jumping to Gina Haspel is going to be acting CIA Director. And I saw one of them is you. And The CIA did not put something out on this and Mike Pompeo did not ether or the President Or the White House. Who knows maybe Courtney Simmons Elwood Will be the Acting. Like Robert Wilkie Takeing Acting Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Lets all wait till tomrrow or Tuesday if they change or Say something on this. Unless if you have something. That would be nice.96.36.68.29 (talk) 20:37, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks:96.36.68.29 (talk) 20:50, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- And yes, I realize that I "jumped the gun" when I tell others not to. The reason being was because she's the nominee for the Director position and it was very unlikely that she wouldn't be named the acting director. Corky 21:44, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
Hello, I attempted to add some content to the "banks" section of Political appointments by Donald Trump regarding Mnuchin being confirmed as United States Governor of the various banks. But I had some issue with "rowspan" for multiple positions. Could you please take a look? Thank you. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 17:06, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

Keith Kellogg
Hello Corky, is Keith Kellogg still the executive secretary of the NSC? I see that you wrote that he currently holds both positions, and I know that he will still serve as a presidential assistant, but the news articles that I read (and that I cited in the article) portrayed the promotion as a way to allow John Bolton to continue to reshape the NSC to his liking, with another position being opened up for him to fill (and that strongly implies he won't be the executive secretary anymore). Am I wrong on this? Either way, I would appreciate a clarification. Thanks. --1990'sguy (talk) 01:53, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- @1990'sguy: All I had interest in doing was adding his new role. I read the White House press release... but apparently I didn't read in its entirety (bottom of the release clearly states he previously served as the Exec. Secretary). Thanks for catching it, I'll let you do the changes. Corky 02:29, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks! Do you have any idea as to when he left his position as executive secretary? If not, I will just put his start date as VP NSA as the end date. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:14, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- @1990'sguy: Not sure, if I had to guess though I'd say when he began as the NSA for Pence. Corky 19:16, 30 April 2018 (UTC)
- OK, that's what I just did. We can always change it if we learn of another date. Thanks! --1990'sguy (talk) 19:23, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

References for Steven Mnuchin
I Corkythehornetfan I asked JocularJellyfish on there talk page were the References for Steven Mnuchin being on the Banks. So as soon as JocularJellyfish get those References for me that would be great. In the mean time I am keeping them on there. And if JocularJellyfish does not have References for Steven Mnuchin. Lede question
re MOS:LEAD, how would you suggest refactoring List of Big 12 Conference football standings in a manner which preserves the utility of the existing Big 12 Conference football link? Delink and bold the existing text, and then introduce a hat pointed to the conf article? The issue is prevalent throughout the cat. Thanks, UW Dawgs (talk) 18:49, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- @UW Dawgs: If you want to save the link for the article, then just unbold the wording... I'm fine with that. I removed it because it is listed at the top of the navbox, so I don't think it is needed. With that being said, the leads in these articles need changed per WP:REDUNDANCY... they should not say "This is a list of X" or "This list of Xs...". Instead, maybe give a brief description on the subject or something in that nature (see List of Alabama Crimson Tide head football coaches as an example, but obviously it doesn't need to be that detailed). Corky 19:04, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- Ala "This is a list of the yearly football standings of the Big 12 Conference.{cite}" Is that reasonable in your view, absent a verbose lede? — Preceding unsigned comment added by UW Dawgs (talk • contribs)
Yes, that's fine. Nowlet's figure out to reword it per WP:REDUNDANCY... "This is a list of..." should be ignored and reworded... something like "The Big 12 Conference has sponsored football since its establishment in 1996." or however you think it should be worded. Corky 22:23, 29 April 2018 (UTC)- @UW Dawgs: I've combined the two sentences, and added... , and has kept to the sentence. Corky 23:25, 29 April 2018 (UTC)

Paul M. Nakasone
Since U.S. Cyber Command has now been elevated to full unified combatant command status, it now take precedence over joint activities such as the National Security Agency. As a unified combatant command, Cyber Command now receives far more funding than the NSA. This is why that I put the Infobox with Cyber Command on top. Even the NSA, on Nakasone's bio page, places his title of Commander of Cyber Command ahead of his title of director of NSA here. I'm open to to discuss about this. But at least you now know my justification. Neovu79 (talk) 22:20, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

University colors
Hi Corky,
Thank you for the message you left on my talk page pertaining to the academics and athletics color distinction for California and UC Davis. I put a note before the accompanying text of basestyle (in navbox) and titlestyle (in external links) for both universities so these kind of edits won't be done in the future.

Edit summaries
Regarding this, there was an edit conflict between ours. However, since you don't always leave edit summaries, I find this one uncivil. — Wyliepedia @ 02:37, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- Not everything needs an edit summary, but I did add one when I made my edits to the article. And I'm not really sure how there was an edit conflict between our two revisions since they were 14 minutes apart. Had it been an edit conflict, it would have told you that there was an edit conflict, which you should have then read to look at the differences between the conflicts. Corky 03:25, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- I edit via phone, which took that long to research and add a death source and changes. What I should've done was not add a source at all and watch his page patrols revert your edits entirely, as they have done with unsourced changes all day. — Wyliepedia @ 06:37, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi Corkythehornetfan Gina Haspel is still Acting Afthr she gets Sworn in we have to Conciter her as the 7th Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. You do remember right? And She have not been Sworn in yet she might be Sworn in tomrrow. Becuse President Trump and Vice President Pence might make a Sworn in Ceromony for tomrrow I found who made the edit first and remind that User to Wait next time till she is Sworn in becuse more people get in on it and all those people get the page lock and some people can't edit. - Yes, I remember, you don't need to tell me every time. The problem is, editors are going to edit the page and we're all going to end up in a big edit war... which to me is a waste of time. So, yes, I have made the edits as well as others and am not going to bother edit warring with others. Corky 21:43, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I came across Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles baseball while doing new page patrol. While that article is not great, I do think it makes a claim to notability (multiple DII championships) and with some minor cleanup (and the addition of a stub tag) was getting ready to mark it as patrolled. I don't feel strongly about this so I've not undone your revert but wanted to throw out a contrasting opinion about notability. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 16:02, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Barkeep49: Thanks for the message. I've reverted myself for now – my issue is that it is short (and not great like you said) and doesn't really show its notability other than in the infobox. Corky 16:21, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Your edit of the article Commandant of the Coast Guard
In the second line of code of the article Commandant of the Coast Guardit says "use dmy dates||date=August 2014". Corky, you have changed the entire article to "mdy" format, thus ignoring the established date format, which is contrary to the MOS instruction that you are using to justify your changes. The "dmy" format was chosen because this is a military related article and the date format was chosen in August 2014. As a courtesy, I am requesting that you revert the changes you made to the article relating to dates. Respectfully, your fellow Hornet and Kansan (and Brother from the East)... Coach/AD tenure navboxes
Corky, do you think these navboxes should have a uniform formatting? Jweiss11 (talk) 03:34, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, and neither of them – as long as you or I are editing (let's be honest) – will have groups like the football navboxes or university navboxes do. I think, regardless of how I have edited prior to the last month, that they should be using
|titlestyle=
rather than|basestyle=
because it is only the title we are colorizing. Aside from that, I still prefer {{color}} over {{white}} or {{black}}. Corky 20:08, 4 June 2018 (UTC)- There are, in fact three such navboxes that do employ groups: Template:Case Western Reserve Spartans football coach navbox, Template:Florida Gators track and field coach navbox, and Template:Texas Longhorns athletic director navbox. Jweiss11 (talk) 02:41, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Wow... so 3 out of 1,000 navboxes have groups? They can use basestyle. I can't see a whole bunch of others looking the same. Corky 03:32, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

These teams use this image as their logo ([4][5]) and their was a FUR at File:TorontoBlueJays2012cap.png. Since you replaced the logo on Toronto Blue Jays with File:Toronto Blue Jays cap.svg], why do you believe it is fair use eligible on this article and not the others? TDL (talk) 15:16, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- I work primarily with university articles and to me, this logo is like a university logo/seal. We don't use them in multiple articles per WP:NFC#UUI§17. That's what I see here. If you disagree you can add the SVG logo into those two articles and add the FURs to the file page and I won't mess with it. Corky 04:23, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I've gone ahead with that. TDL (talk) 13:48, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Blakebs
Hi Corkythehornetfan. Blakebs changed all the dates of the white House Staff. - Sorry, but more than that was just ceremonial. The source they provided (https://projects.propublica.org/graphics/trump-disclosures) looks legit and reliable. No edit war has occurred so there is no reason to warn them. You need to take it up with them. Corky 04:17, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Nevermind the fact every other high-ranking official in every administration ever has a start date of January 20 and I doubt anyone has the time to go to each page and change it based on the flimsy sources of 96.36.68.29 I certainly won't do it. Hello. Would you be interested in helping me develop Draft:Intellectuals for Donald Trump or offering some thoughts please? Re: "school colors are incorrect"
I apologize. When i sent the comment about used-to-be-called ipfw's colors are no longer blue and white, but have been changed to black and gold, i didn't notice the active date on the page. It is indeed a page for a previous school. My comment is irrelevant. Stocktrader0101 (talk) 20:57, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

MOS:Font size
Hey, Just wanting clarification, I understand MOS:ACCESS#FONTSIZE, however, does that apply to ALL infoboxes? The only reason I ask is because there are several, even those of the newly confirmed nominees, that do not conform. I'm sure it was unintentional, however, to me it seemed like a targeted revert when the others of Emily Coody Marks, Jeffrey Uhlman Beaverstock, Colm Connolly, Maryellen Noreika and Jill Otake were untouched, yet, apparently in violation of MOS as well. Just curious. Snickers2686 (talk) 02:03, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Snickers2686: Yes, it applies to all infoboxes. I don't have those you listed on my watchlist, nor did I know about them, otherwise I would have taken care of them. They've been taken care of now. My reverts are not targeted, I already the page on my watchlist, so I saw the change and reverted. Corky 02:25, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Corkythehornetfan: Okay, that makes sense, I apologize. I just assumed you saw/followed the confirmations of the other nominees as well, my bad. Snickers2686 (talk) 03:23, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

|name=
FYI, the display of |name=
in {{infobox officeholder}} has nothing to do with Wikidata - most of the templates simply default to displaying the article title when that parameter doesn't appear. You can confirm this by comparing the Wikidata item and the enwiki article for Jeff Beaverstock - the Wikidata item uses a different label than our article title, but the template display matches the article title. Nikkimaria (talk) 03:33, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Nikkimaria: That makes more sense, I just assumed it had to do with Wikidata (which I don't know much about!). Thanks for the info! Corky 03:39, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Football logo
I recently changed the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football logo from the years 2011-2018 to the “Ragin’ Cajuns” wordmark. I changed this because Louisiana football uses this logo from 2011-Present. They have never used the Louisiana workmark, as it was only used by Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. I just wanted to clear that up. 71.88.147.93 (talk) 19:54, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- The problem is that File:Ragin Cajuns logo.svg is a non-free logo (a.k.a. copyrighted) and can only be used in the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns article per WP:NFC#UUI§17. The wordmark is also used in the 2018 Football Prospectus. It it the only simple logo that the school is currently using, therefore per our WikiProject's standards, we have to use the 'Louisiana' wordmark in the all team articles for Louisiana. Please don't revert any further per WP:BRD or you'll be edit warring. Hope that helps. Corky 20:28, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- My question is, if we cant use this logo because it is a copy-written logo and non-free, then how is any other college team able to use their logo, such as the LSU 2018 football page or Alabama 2018 football page? Seanmyers2004 (talk) 20:43, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Seanmyers2004: Both LSU and Alabama's logos fail the threshold of originality. They are simply too simple to be copyrighted (letters and/or shapes). You can see WP:Non-free content and WP:Public domain for more. Corky 21:48, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

- @1990'sguy: how do you want it cropped? Close up (shows a portion of the microphone) or zoomed out with some of the podium showing? Corky 22:17, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- I'd say closer up, showing his head and waist. Part of the microphone would probably show, but the podium probably shouldn't show. I would like it to be a suitable crop to serve as the main image on Jim Oberweis's article. --1990'sguy (talk) 23:24, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Oregon State Beavers colors at Module:College color/data
Hey Corkythehornetfan (talk), I thought I'd leave you a message on your talk page about the color renderings for the Oregon State Beavers. I don't want to engage in an edit-war with you over it, so that's why I'm leaving a message on your talk page. Anyways, I thought I'd tell you that yes, you're right: the official color code for the Beavers is #DC4405 . I guess the question is how to render it. I think it's pretty obvious that Oregon State's primary color is orange. I checked Snook.ca to see whether white or black would be more color contrast-compliant, and here are the results:
white text on orange background
black text on orange background
I still think orange should be rendered as the primary color for Oregon State at Module:College color/data. I guess what I'm saying is, feel free to respond or reply to this message. Thanks. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 04:27, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, it is pretty obvious that Orange is the primary color but per the links above, they are still not that compliant and color-blind users would still have trouble reading the words in the navboxes. I have never been a fan of “preserving the school’s color” as the primary background color when it isn’t accessible. It’s not fair to our color-blind readers. OSU uses a black background for their website, so I don’t really see the problem. It’s not as bright as OK State’s where black font is accessible, otherwise I’d be OK with it. We have it it listed in the infobox as “Orange and Black”, that’s the main thing. Corky 04:51, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- OK, I guess there's nothing we can do about it. I guess I'll have to agree to leave the color rendering at the module as-is for now. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:02, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

FDIC
Hi Corky, thanks for uploading File:Jelena McWilliams official photo.jpg. I'm not sure if the treasury tag is exactly correct; I asked a question earlier at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions/Archive/2018/September#Are works by the FDIC public domain? and the consensus was that the FDIC is an independent agency of the federal government so the regular PD-Gov tag is probably better than the PD-Treasury tag. I don't mean to second-guess your judgement (I was uncertain enough to ask the question, after all, and am relying on other people's research/opinions here). Thanks for taking the time to upload the picture (with bonus crop!), because I certainly didn't get around to it :). Hope all is well.-Ich (talk) 10:18, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Ich: I really wasn't sure, either, but I think you're right! I just assumed it was a Treasury license because they deal with banks. I've changed it to {{PD-USGov}} per your discussion. Thanks for saying something, good to know I have a second pair of eyes watching! Corky 12:13, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

- @WizardKing: No, I have never heard of that school. My username refers to Emporia State University (my alma mater), whose mascot is Corky the Hornet. Corky 03:20, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Ah. Thanks. WizardKing 03:40, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

- I removed it because it was an unrecognized file name and I couldn't find the picture for some reason. Looks like you had typed File:|JaneL.Corwin.jpg instead of File:JaneL.Corwin.jpg. I've re-added it. Corky 04:43, 4 October 2018 (UTC)

A.B. vs. B.A.
Saw your comments on C.J. Mahoney of A.B. vs. B.A. True the A.B. is uncommon but that's what Harvard awards.Bjhillis (talk) 23:30, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Bjhillis: Thanks for letting me know. We should be doing what is most commonly known to the average reader, even if that means going against Harvard. The average reader probably doesn't know that they switch it to "AB" and I certainly was one of those. Corky 00:15, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

US political bios infoboxes
Howdy, before you go the revert route (remember post-1932 US politics under 1RR ruling) open up an Rfc on your concerns about what should or shouldn't be in an infobox. GoodDay (talk) 23:45, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
I see you've indeed opened an Rfc, which I've commented at. Best to wait until you get a consensus there, before you attempt any changes. GoodDay (talk) 23:55, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Except that’s not how it’s done on Wikipedia. We’ve never done this before, including when Trump was elected president. There is no consensus, and your guys’ version is currently being contested. I’ve started a talk on both Colyer and a WikiProject’s page. Same goes for you and everyone else, seek consensus. Corky 23:59, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- And, if you’re going to do this, at least wait until the votes are “official” as done by the election boards of the states. Corky 00:02, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- We've been doing these kinda edits on election articles for years. There's a lot of these articles. I don't mind if you get a consensus for all of them, but first do so. GoodDay (talk) 00:07, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
G-elects & LtG-elects infoboxes
Actually, I will make those changes that you & M are insisting on, while given the credit to both your insistence. GoodDay (talk) 05:00, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
It looks like we're going to be busy for the next 2 months, with that annoying mobile editor. He's only doing it for self-entertainment. GoodDay (talk) 15:53, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

In relation to the topic, yourself & @Therequiembellishere: may want to meet each other. GoodDay (talk) 21:46, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- We've met, we get along, we just have our differences. Corky 22:09, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
Will you PLEASE get a consensus to delete the governors-elect & lieutenant governors-elect from those bios or leave them alone. PS: You got what you wanted with the other topic. Isn't that enough? GoodDay (talk) 15:57, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

United States Senate committees
Hi Corkythehornetfan I know you do other Goverment pages and As I look at each Senate committee like United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation someone put Rick Scott, Florida Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee Kyrsten Sinema, Arizona and Jacky Rosen, Nevada there is no surce no one put a surce if these's new Members would be on this committee. And plus the website is not updated.
Here's another United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations someone put Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Mitt Romney, Utah Ted Cruz, Texas Who knows if they are on this?96.36.68.29 (talk) 05:05, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

You told me .gov images were public domain
What are you talking about? It didn't come from Treasury? At the top of the page it says 'US Department of the Treasury' right next to the CDFI seal. This is a gov site, and you told me pictures from a gov site were public domain. Why can't I use these? Blakebs (talk) 17:14, 11 January 2019 (UTC)
- Common sense would tell you that not everything on a government website is created by the government agency. The privacy policies on the website explain that. Most agencies will have similar backdrops for their personnel. Also, the exif data at the bottom of the page tells you when those pix were taken (if the pix have them) and that right there should be a good indicator. You can’t just assume that if it’s on a government, that it’s a government-issued photo. You need to do more reading before uploading anymore photos. You have been blocked from Commons for a week, I’d recommend taking that time to read up on guidelines. Don’t upload them the English Wikipedia either as that’ll get you blocked too. Corky 00:25, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
- In fact, Blakebs, Gregory Fairchild’s image was nominated for deletion back on 5 April 2018... which can be seen on your Commins talk page, so re-uploading a deleted image that is copyrighted is a blockable offense that should last more than a week. Corky 01:15, 12 January 2019 (UTC)O
- I didn’t block you on Commons, Yann (an administrator) did. I’m just telling you what would more than likely happen from what I’ve seen in the past. You think I’m controlling, but I’m not. You are one of the most rudest persons I’ve ever met. Continue to go against consensus, and I’ll be glad to report you. Have a good weekend, Corky 23:39, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
Maps
Hey, Corky it's been a while. When you get a chance can you let me know who I can contact about a map like we have on the MIAA page (which as you know will need to be updated for the 2019 season?) But a prolific editor, who has expanded NCAA championship content significantly, created a map on the RMAC page [7] which has a lot of extra data space compared to the one on the MIAA page, which as a "file." (Also, can you help in informing them Dixie State is moving to the WAC next season[Or, I'll let them know if you'd like me to discuss this with them]). Thanks-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 16:45, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hope all is well, UCO2009bluejay! I can create the map... it'll be Friday though before I get it created (if you're good with that?). I have the MIAA map on my list to-do list. If I don't get around to the MIAA map update in July, you can request an update at Commons:Graphic Lab/Illustration workshop on Commons and someone will update the request. I'll let you notify them about Dixie State and will be glad to jump in if needed. Corky 18:26, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
- No problem, it was just that a file saves alot more room than a bulky table. Thanks-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 18:32, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

Logo update
It was pointed out over at Talk:Tampa Bay Rays that the Rays officially made a slight change to their primary logo in the last year, which I confirmed per the logo history on their website. The image from the website is a .jpg but I know a lot of the logos that are used on Wiki are .svg so I thought I would ask since you are fluent in the updating process if you were able to make this fix? - They’re too small, but putting that aside... they’re bad quality. We have better quality photos that are better than these. If you can find a higher quality photo, I’ll be glad to upload them. Corky 23:43, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Razorbacks logo
I created an account to ask if you could fix the dimensions on the Arkansas Razorbacks logo you uploaded. It’s the File:Arkansas Razorbacks logo.svg - KBugg8694 This webpage contains a logo that has the correct dimensions, if you’d be able to use it: https://brand.uark.edu/graphic-identity/logos-and-wordmarks/the-razorback.php - KBugg8694
- @KBugg8694: can you tell me what specifics there to the change? When I updated the file, it was taken from a football game notes.. thanks, Corky 17:49, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
- The file you uploaded is has been scrunched horizontally. Unfortunately I’m not sure of exact dimensions (this isn’t my forte, sorry), but I know that this file is directly off the University of Arkansas Style Guides & Logos webpage. Sorry I can’t be more help than that, but it’s mainly my lifetime as a fan that helps me know that the current upload is inaccurate. Thanks for anything you can do. KBugg8694
- I’ll take a look on Friday, I have a couple of other svg files to upload as well. Corky 19:01, 22 January 2019 (UTC)

Template:Western State Colorado Mountaineers football coach navbox
Corky, any idea what's up with Template:Western State Colorado Mountaineers football coach navbox? The displayed colors don't seem to match what's listed at Module:College color. I can't figure what the problem is. Let me know if you can take a look. Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 06:51, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Not sure what was going on. I removed “State” from the name and it seems to show the colors. I know they removed “State” some time ago, and it was recently updated to reflect that change at the module. It’s been fixed now. Corky 11:52, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Jweiss11: should be completely fixed now.. “Mountaineers” was spelled wrong at the module for their old name “Western State Colorado Mountaineers“. Corky 13:40, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

Hello Corkythehornetfan, would you please upload what I believe is S.D.TX United States Attorney Ryan Patrick's official photo, assuming it is legal to upload to Wikipedia? The image is here: [8] --1990'sguy (talk) 01:33, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi Corkythehornetfan the chopping thing is dead Blakebs won I tried for you but no body wants to chop the pctures. So I am going to tell Blakebs if they want to unchop the pictures they or you and me can unchop every pic for her. Unless if you can make the cace to her. Cabinet of Donald Trump

Thanks96.36.68.29 (talk) 01:21, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- No, once Nikki Haley left, that position was removed as a cabinet-level member. The only reason it was a cabinet-level member was because Haley convinced Trump to keep it there while she was Ambassador. See this article. Corky
Ok now I see. I did do a little bit updateing on the pages and added notes on the
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabinet_of_the_United_States
and for this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formation_of_Donald_Trump%27s_Cabinet sence the Ambassador to the United Nations is not part of the Cabinet any more I wanted to add a new section called Cabinet jobs not in the Cabinet anymore. Or just take away the whole thing.96.36.68.29 (talk) 00:28, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
Hello Corkythehornetfan. I am looking to clean up the file File:Saturday Night Football logo.svg. Did you obtain this file from a PDF, or did you get it directly as an SVG? If you have the original file and format available, I'd like to use that to clean up. Thanks in advance! Pbroks13 (talk) 17:19, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Pbroks13: I'll get back with you tomorrow. I downloaded it from a NFL media site, which you need credentials too. I'll look for it and let you know once I have it. I believe it was a SVG directly, but I don't remember. Corky 04:28, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- Do not worry if it is too much trouble. I did a bunch of manual editing, and got the file from 1.1MB down to 93KB (I feel like the changes are not too far off from the original, so we should be good). Pbroks13 (talk) 03:02, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Pbroks13: I located the original source... if you want it, hit the email button on the left, send me a message, and I'll send you the direct file. It's EPS with a 14.7 MB file size... I reduced it when I uploaded it, but that is all I could do... Sorry for the delay! Corky 16:58, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Image request: Dan Patrick
Hello Corkythehornetfan, would you please take a look at File:Dan Patrick Texas.jpg? Patrick's article has been the victim of at least two attempts[9][10] in the past month to add inadequately-licensed images, and I don't know if this image is one of them (it looks like a promotional photo, so I'm suspicious). If there is no violation, I would appreciate it if you would crop it, so it can at least be a decent infobox photo. --1990'sguy (talk) 15:19, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- @1990'sguy: I’m not convinced the uploader is the author... the exif at the bottom shows it was taken by Lavender Marsh of the Texas Senate Media Services. Corky 15:50, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and tagged it as lacking permission. Corky 17:11, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Fresno State Bulldogs colors at Module:College color/data
In reverting my good faith edits at Module:College color/data regarding the official HTML color codes for the Fresno State Bulldogs, you said "Fresno State hasn’t changed the hex codes. Athletics is separate than university and I have the art sheet to prove it." The edit diff is found here. I was wondering, since you said you "had the art sheet to prove it", if you could please provide the URL reference for the Fresno State art sheet, if at all possible? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 03:50, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- @Charlesaaronthompson: The art sheet was emailed to me from their Trademarks/Licensing director, Clarence Chiong. Athletics uses Pantone 199 C and Pantone 2787 C as their primary red and blue, and the colors at the module came by 'Inspecting the Element' tool on the gobulldogs.com website to be more accurate. That is different than the university, and is quite noticeable when looking at their websites. Corky 04:00, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- Is there any way you could please forward via e-mail that art sheet to me? I believe you and take you at your word. I also promise not to use it at the module. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 04:09, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
John Fleming photo
Hello Corkythehornetfan, it appears that John Fleming (American politician) has a new official photo: [11] If the license makes it legal to upload here, would you please do that? --1990'sguy (talk) 03:30, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Jim Oberweis photo
Hello Corkythehornetfan, would you please check File:Jim Oberweis Photo.jpg to see if its properly licensed. It's likely his state legislature photo, though I have also seen the image on his campaign websites. I suspect (but cannot be certain) that the uploader is connected to Oberweis in some way. --1990'sguy (talk) 18:31, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- @1990'sguy: They use it on his state senator bio, but we have no way in knowing if the uploader (Isham0223) is the original author/representative of his office. I would mark it as 'missing permission'. Better be safe than sorry... they need to send an OTRS ticket in. Corky 20:36, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Kirstjen Nielsen/ Here we go again
Hi Corkythehornetfan Here we go again I know you got the news that the President Tweeted that Kirstjen Nielsen will leave. And as you know other users are jumping to conclusion that she is leaveing today. On the news reports I saw there is no offical end date yet. I am sure it will be later this week and Plus the DHS Website did not update yet. Pete Stauber
Pretty sure the photo you found is a campaign portrait, as it's dated from 2017 as per the metadata. File:Pete Stauber, official portrait, 116th Congress.jpg is likely the congressional portrait as he's appears to be wearing the red 116th Congress lapel pin (as seen in other 116th Congress portraits), but frustratingly, I can't seem to find any high resolution version, and his office hasn't responded to queries. Connormah (talk) 04:57, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Connormah: I saw that, though I wasn’t really sure what to do because they are using it on his official House social media accounts. Like you, I couldn’t find a higher resolution of the yellow tie portrait. If the one I uploaded violates guidelines due to possible copyright, you can delete it! Corky 14:44, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- It could have been released, but it's hard to know for sure without contacting the office I guess. We could err on the side of caution and use the one with the yellow tie as it appears to be more recent too. If only made it easy for us and used the official House photos... Connormah (talk) 19:38, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
- I completely agree, but we wouldn’t know what to do if they didn’t challenge us like this lol I’d say go ahead and use the yellow tie to be on the safe side. Corky 05:33, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- Sounds good, I've swapped it out for the time being. Hopefully we'll be able to find a higher res version of it sometime soon. Connormah (talk) 15:27, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

There was news that Chris was going to resign at the end of April, however, he is apparently still there due to his (very) active Twitter feed. I can’t find anything on Douglas Webster, either. I’ll revert unless a source can be provided for all three saying they’ve resigned. Corky 13:22, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
- Giancarlo penned a goodbye letter that was shared on his official twitter six hours ago at https://www.coindesk.com/christopher-giancarlo-cftc-future-of-blockchain and the Washington Times list of Trump nominees says he resigned April 13, 2019, it's also my lone source for Puchala's resignation, it says she resigned last July. User talk:Blakebs 1:54, 15 May 2019 (CST)
- So, April 13th wouldn’t be his official end date... it’d be at least May 15. Also, it doesn’t make sense that they’d leave Puchala on their website as a current member 10 months after her resignation. I think we need to find more (reliable?) sources before removing. Corky 20:44, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
- Blakebs I do beleave you on Douglas Webster becuse he is not on the Department of Ed website anymore https://www2.ed.gov/news/staff/bios/index.html and plus Denise L. Carter https://www2.ed.gov/news/staff/bios/carter.html has the job now.96.36.68.29 (talk) 21:25, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

Constitution Party logo
Would be you be able to upload a more accurate version of File:Constitution Party (USA) logo.svg ? The main issues are that the two middle white stripes should not be transparent, and that far right edge of the top red stripe has been cut off. If you’re able to do it, that’d be pretty cool. Thanks either way. KBugg8694 (talk) 07:11, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
VanVleet
After watching Fred VanVleet tearing up the eastern and national NBA finals, I was wondering if he had an article. If not, I figured I might do one, or see if you're interested in doing one even though he was a Shocker. Sheesh! There is one and there have been about 35 edits to the article in just the last week or so. It made me wonder, "How has Ron Baker done lately?", since I haven't seen him play this year. I watched him in a Knicks/Warriors game 2 1/2 years ago where he played real well. He's also got an article, but it's sad news. A crash with Anthony Davis may have caused his ultimate exit from the NBA. I also discovered he's part Pottawatomie. 14:39, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Activist: yup, Fred VanVleet a LOT of IP edits the past week! I don’t keep up with NBA — never been interested in it for some reason! I keep up with football, though I couldn’t tell you much about that either. lol I couldn’t even tell you which Kansas players are still in the NBA and which team they played for! New Houston Rockets logo
Hello Corky, I was wondering if you could please update the primary logo for the Houston Rockets to their "R" logo? My source is the team's Twitter account, per [12]. This is the only change, in my opinion, that should be made until the team unveils its new uniforms later this month. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 22:01, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

RSU/Newman
Hey I know you've been updating the navboxes for the upcoming MIAA realignment. When it comes to the official day and the MIAA page can be updated, I think that Rogers State and Newman don't have any sports that would be affiliates in any other conference as the MIAA sponsors championships in each sport. Would you mind verifying that?-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 21:48, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
- @UCO2009bluejay: Rogers State sports will all be in the MIAA, as will Newman. Corky 06:32, 22 June 2019 (UTC)

We don't do Acting people as the predecessor or the Successor. No matter its 6 years or 7 days we don't do Acting people as the predecessor I do want us to do the acting people for every page like Pompeo Sullivan was the Acting predecessor for the Pompeo page as Secutary of State. That is what I keep telling Therequiembellishere. You know what we do on every page and the standers are. like you seid earlyer this isn't rocket science.96.36.68.29 (talk) 23:39, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

United States Secretary of Defense
Hi Corkythehornetfan I don't know if you saw it yet but on the [United States Secretary of Defense] page on the list under Mark Esper it say he is from Washington and on the [Cabinet of Donald Trump] page it say Virginia and what the President put out on the website it say Virginia https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/president-donald-j-trump-announces-intent-nominate-individuals-key-administration-posts-11/ I don't know if it was a mistake or someone was not looking it up and just copy and Paste it.96.36.68.29 (talk) 00:42, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

"most articles have the living former govs on their article"
False, when talking about quality articles. The following lists are featured:
- List of governors of Alabama
- List of governors of Alaska
- List of governors of Arizona
- List of governors of Arkansas
- List of governors of California
- Governor of Colorado
- List of governors of Connecticut
- List of governors of Delaware
- List of governors of Hawaii
- List of governors of Idaho
- List of governors of Illinois
- List of governors of Indiana
- List of governors of Kentucky
- List of governors of Michigan
- List of governors of New Jersey
- List of governors of New York
- List of governors of Ohio
- List of governors of Pennsylvania
- List of governors of West Virginia
- List of governors of Wisconsin
Of the above, the ones that have a list of former living governors:
- List of governors of Michigan
- List of governors of New Jersey
- List of governors of New York
- List of governors of Ohio
- List of governors of Pennsylvania
- List of governors of West Virginia
- List of governors of Wisconsin
Furthermore, all of the ones that have it are much older features, and don't match the format done by newer features, like (soon) Georgia. The ones that aren't featured don't matter because most of them are a total mess that need to be worked on extensively to bring them up to standards. --Golbez (talk) 14:50, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

Edit request for Template:Infobox US university ranking
Hey Corky, I hope this finds you well! I was hoping you could update Template:Infobox US university ranking for me. Unfortunately, I don't have the credentials yet to update it myself, and I noticed you made the last edit on there. If you can, I'd appreciate you changing the citation for Washington Monthly. I've listed the new reference:

- Thank you, Corky! I'd like a couple more of them updated in September and October when the next batch of rankings are released. Are you open to having me reach out again, or should I look into gaining the privilege? It looks more involved than rollback, which I gained several years ago. Thank you again for your assistance on this one. Buzzards-Watch Me Work (talk) 00:42, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Buzzards-Watch Me Work: No problem! You can shoot me a message if you’d like, I’ll be more than happy to update it. Duke Blue Devils official colors
Hello Corky, I just wanted to clarify what the exact shade of Duke blue is as it relates to the Duke Blue Devils athletics department. According to GoDuke.com, the exact official colors for Duke are Duke blue (Pantone 287) and white. I cross-referenced the color at Pantone.com. The shade there is #003087 . I don't want to engage in an edit-war with you over at Module:College color/data, but I am asking if there is any way that the color for Duke could be changed to match the color found at Pantone.com? Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 18:29, 24 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Charlesaaronthompson: GoDuke.com uses #013088 ... which is probably more accurate than Pantone and Duke brand guide? I just think it's pretty clear the blue is not the light (royal) blue like the brand guide lists. Corky 13:41, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
- OK, I understand. Is there any way you would be willing to use the URL reference from GoDuke.com, and use #013088 as the official shade for Pantone 287 C for the Duke Blue Devils over at Module:College color/data? I feel like the URL reference from GoDuke.com is more accurate than the brand guide. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 19:40, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

Black text in NFL team templates
Hello Corky, I have a question for you: do you know how to remove the black colored text from National Football League (NFL) team templates, such as Template:Los Angeles Chargers or Template:Miami Dolphins over at Module:Gridiron color/data? - Hi, please see User talk:Ahecht#Color modules for why I made the changes to the Dolphins' navboxes. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:02, 13 December 2019 (UTC)

Removing Edits on the UL Article
You have removed several sections on UL article, stating that they were 'not sourced.' I can't help but notice that there pretty much identical sections in other articles that you leave untouched. An example of this would be the numerous sections in the LTU article that are list pretty much the same type items (parts of the campus, dorm history, etc.) and which none are 'sourced.' Can you please explain to me the disparity in your editing? If one article is not acceptable, then why is the other one?
Here is the link to what you deleted on the UL article:
And here is the LTU article that lists pretty much the same thing, which also does not have sources, but that which you have not removed anything:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_Tech_University
If you would kindly tell me what type of source that you require for the edits I will certainly get them, as everything that you deleted is 100% accurate and informative. Thanks.
- It all depends on how much I look into an article. Some days I look deep into an article and remove unsourced content, other days I only make brief edits. I don’t single any articles out. Sources should be from secondary articles (newspapers, news stations, etc.). Corky 03:07, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Miami Heat team colors at WT:NBA
Hello Corky, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to weigh in on the discussion regarding the Miami Heat's team colors over at WT:NBA? I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 19:39, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Charlesaaronthompson: Give me a brief overview of what this conversation is about... I really don’t want to read all of that. Corky 10:44, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- OK. Here's a brief overview of what this conversation is about. I'm the only editor who wanted to change the Miami Heat's (and Sioux Falls Skyforce)'s colors at Module:Sports color/basketball and in the infobox of the Heat and Skyforce's articles so that they were red, yellow, and black–in that order. The other three editors in that discussion wanted to leave the colors as black, red, and yellow–in that order. That's basically what that discussion is all about. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 14:06, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. Personally, I’d leave it black, red, yellow as I’ve seen the team more with black and red. I really don’t see yellow except the logo. Corky 06:13, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- OK. Thank you for your input. It looks like it is in my best interests to WP:DROPTHESTICK and move on, since the established WP:CONSENSUS for the Miami Heat's colors at Module:Sports color/basketball and in the infobox of the team's article is for the color order to be black, red, and yellow–in that order. This is based solely on the team's Reproduction and Usage Guideline Sheet. The one question I never got to ask is this: aren't teams represented by their logos? It's pretty obvious to me that the primary colors of the Heat's logo are red and yellow, with black used as an outline color. The only reason why I wanted to change the colors to red and yellow with black as a text color is to represent all of the club's colors. However, with that being said, I can see now that I am definitely in the minority. So, I shall simply WP:GETOVERIT, and stop trying to change the colors. I will leave it alone for now and respect the clearly established consensus. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 21:11, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, they are represented by their logos, but just because a color is in the logo doesn't mean it's in the teams colors (on the college side, the Florida Gators don't have green in their school colors). Teams don't need to have every color associated with them in the navboxes, either. IMO, it's better to just use three colors that work and you know are compliant - in this case it's red, black, and white. Corky 18:03, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

Florida Gators Athletics Style Guide
Hello Corky, I was wondering if there would be any way you could please send me an e-mail that contains a digital copy of the Florida Gators' athletics style guide? I have searched for it on the Internet and cannot find it. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 21:50, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Because it’s not on the Internet. I’ve sent it your way, an email from July 2017. Corky 01:04, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- OK. I just received that e-mail. Thank you. You're right about the color codes regarding the Florida Gators. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 01:11, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- @Charlesaaronthompson: Check your email from July 11, 2016 regarding the university colors. They use a different red. Corky 01:27, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- OK, I found that e-mail. You're right again: the University of Mississippi does use that specific color code for Cardinal red. I will just let you go ahead and change the color codes in the infobox of the University of Mississippi article. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 05:34, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
