About non-admin closures of AfDs

[edit]

Hello, Coolperson177. Thanks for attempting to do non-admin closures. But you should be careful not to do closures that you do not have the tools to implement. At Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Religion of peace, the consensus was to delete the article, then redirect it. But you closed it as a simple redirect. That was not the consensus. I have reopened the discussion, deleted the article, and then created the redirect. It's best to do NAC closures only on non-controversial or non-complicated results such as Keep, especially at first. If you have any questions or need any advice, just ask. -- MelanieN (talk) 19:23, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Sorry. I wasn't aware of the difference. Thanks for telling me. --Coolperson177 (talk) 19:51, 22 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of QuickSun Technologies

[edit]

Hi, Why are you deleting the QuickSun Technologies article? I would like to tell you that QuickSun Technologies is an Indian Financial Company based in Gurgaon, India and the company served 30 state in India. And I work in the company and it is a big corporate company. I have attached the reference on article. Kindly remove the speedy deletion tag on the page. Thankyou Raebareli Area (talk) 14:18, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly consider it. Raebareli Area (talk) 14:55, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Raebareli Area! I want to clarify that I didn't put it up for speedy deletion. I nominated it because I was unclear of the notability of the organization. For an organization to be notable, it must be covered in multiple news sources. If you have more sources, please do add them to the article. Please comment at the discussion page if you oppose the deletion of this article, but don't remove the tag, that's disruptive. Thanks! --Coolperson177 (talk) 17:05, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of refs

[edit]

Hey! I noticed that you added refs to Super Mario 64 however you ddin't use the {{cite web}} (or similar) template which (as far as I know) is required (or at least recommended) to be used in a ref. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:20, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Blaze The Wolf. I was adding content from journals, and there is a special template for that, {{Cite journal}}. {{Cite web}} is only for content from websites. --Coolperson177 (talk) 22:13, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I knew there was a similar template that would be more appropriate which is why I said "or similar" because I really only know of Cite web. Just figured I'd remind you to use the appropriate template. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 13:11, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Uncapitalization of hub

[edit]

Hello! Just figured I'd elaborate a bit more on why I uncapitalized hub. Hub isn't an acronym for something which is usually why something would be written in all caps. It might be shot for something but I can't really think of what it would be short for at the moment. Hub is simply the word used to describe a main area of a game that lets you access all other levels of the game, similar to a world map in Super Mario World. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:53, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I just looked "hub" up in a dictionary and that makes sense now. Thanks. --Coolperson177 (talk) 19:55, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! I saw it when viewing what was changed in one of your edits and I was just like "why is hub in all caps?" and so I fixed it, but didn't catch the 2nd instance of it being in all caps. Not meaning to be rude but is English not your native language? (it's ok if it isn't, you can still edit English Wikipedia) ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:19, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, it is. --Coolperson177 (talk) 20:21, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok. Again, I'm not meaning it as an insult. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 13:25, 5 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:04, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for closing Talk:Dino (disambiguation)#Requested move 24 November 2021 but you cut and pasted the talk page meaning that the edit history was left at "Talk:Dino (disambiguation)" while the content of the talk page was at "Talk:Dino". If you can't complete a move please list it at WP:RMT, thanks. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:15, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your closure as "no consensus" on File:Love Train - O'Jays.jpg, but do you think that's the right decision? I just saw one keep vote with inadequate justification and one comment. --George Ho (talk) 04:14, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my justification was that it was repeatedly being relisted by admins after the first !vote, and since almost nobody else was sharing their opinion after the last relist, the discussion failed to reach a consensus. If that's wrong, I'm sorry; my intention when making these closures is to clear out the backlog. — Coolperson177 (t|c) 05:07, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your closure and your clearing out the backlog, but I'm still unsure whether the closure was right or wrong. The result would be either just as you concluded (usually by an admin), or the image would be deleted, which you're unable to do so, regardless of only one "keep" vote. --George Ho (talk) 05:24, 5 December 2021 (UTC); edited, 05:25, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, since I can't comment any further on the closure, if you don't wanna undo the closure, then I'll just create a newer, clearer nomination referencing the 1st nomination. George Ho (talk) 06:09, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, if you want to get more input, that's fine. — Coolperson177 (t|c) 13:45, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[edit]

Hi Coolperson177. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! FASTILY 03:37, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Super Mario 64

[edit]

On 12 January 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Super Mario 64, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Super Mario 64 has been the subject of medical literature showing a correlation between habitual playing of 3D platformers and increased grey matter in the brain? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Super Mario 64. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Super Mario 64), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

@Coolperson177: It is no problem. My review was not as thorough as Jaguar's. Thanks for the reference, I will be sure to use it in the future. - Jibreel23

DYKSTATS

[edit]

Hey, coolperson177! I noticed your contribution to Wikipedia:Did you know/Statistics :) I appreciate it! Unfortunately, there's a snag there—when articles get lots of views on dates that aren't the DYK date, they are subtracted out from the number of views the hook gets. So, for example, here, while the article gets 5,707 on its DYK date, it also got an average of around 1,150 views per day in the couple of days proceeding it. If you subtract those out, the number of views is equal to 5,707–1,141.5=4,565.5, which is a little below the 5,000 mark needed for inclusion. I'm really sorry about that! theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/she) 01:08, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't notice that in the rules. It's fine. — Coolperson177 (t|c) 01:18, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance with article

[edit]

Hey! I have a feeling you're busy with improving Super Mario 64 right now, however when you get the chance, would you mind helping me out with Euro Truck Simulator 2? I'm not quite wanting to go for a GA quite yet, however I do want to get to that point eventually. Right now I'm just improving the article based on what's in the peer review. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:12, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze Wolf: When I get the chance, sure, I'll try to help. I have a question for you though: Do you think this section of the Super Mario 64 article should be removed? I have someone at the FAC page suggesting that it's trivia and I want to see if I can get a consensus. — Coolperson177 (t|c) 18:21, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe. If it seems like something that would be notable enough to be mentioned then it needs to be changed from a list format to prose. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:24, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
