Thanks for adding the photo to this page. It really helps add atmosphere. By the way you don't look that much of a div with Mr Cascarino. I have a photo of me with David Wilkie (swimmer) that I hope never sees the light of day and I certainly wouldn't have the courage to put on my talkpage Gmac101 (talk) 14:28, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Have a reference ;-) how a plc conducts its business
Thing is, "Wigan" never did confirm anything. Dave Whelan mouthed off in the paper, as have Gold/Sullivan, but neither website said a dickybird. Trouble is, one tends to go with the momentum of media waffle with a managerial appointment where a player transfer wouldn't be added until he'd had his picture taken in the shirt. That's why I prefer editing historical stuff, at least that way you can generally tell verifiable from fiction. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:35, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]It's good enough for me to support already, but one more quick query. From doing a couple of searches I've found a number of references to the poor standard of the pitch from four or five years ago - heavily sanded, resembled a ploughed field, string of recent matches postponed, and it appears that the problems were severe enough to result in the drainage system being replaced. Do think it is significant enough to merit a mention? Oldelpaso (talk) 21:56, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi - as part of my project to create articles for Southampton players I have added Jim McAlpine. As he played his last two seasons at Gillingham, can you add anything to the article? Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:44, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Personal Attacks?
[edit]I didn't say anything personal to him. I just told him to stop deleting the article for no reason other than he didn't like what was being written. Its all true as I provided evidence for so I didn't see what his problem was.BadboyIain (talk) 16:37, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Tony Pulis
[edit]Also, why have you deleted the stuff about Tony Pulis? If you can re-write it in a more neutral tone then please do so but its all true. I think its important for people to know how he was recieved at the club. If you can't think of a better way to write it then I'm going to re-add it in the near future. BadboyIain (talk) 16:46, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Jesus christ. We're all adults; is 'fuck off' actually 'extremely out of order'? Is everyone on wiki so highly strung up that a swearword deeply offends them (not aimed at you; please don't have a go at me about personal attacks)? Are you satisfied now that I've provided enough evidence that you can leave this article alone and draw a line under all this? BadboyIain (talk) 19:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ShootCover.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ShootCover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Deletion rationales
[edit]Hi. :) I saw your deletion of Rhys G Evans in the deletion log and just wanted to remind you not to let the article content show if the article may be an attack page. Given the nature of that one, I suspect it may have been. Since the deletion log hangs around after the article is gone, the attacks remain visible as well. Happy editing, and thanks for joining the ranks of CSD handlers. We certainly need them. :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:59, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your note about Weston-super-Mare A.F.C. & well done for all the work you've put into this. It is certainly getting to a "B" class but still lacks citations for lots of statements. I already made a major change to the team article based on the club template set by Wikiproject Football and I assure you that it's a wonderful article and ready for people to add more information now, plus that if it's good enough to take the "stub" tag off, so be it! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Stanleybadge.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Stanleybadge.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:27, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Have you thought about adding to your collection of stars with a featured topic?
[edit]Whilst scouring around bored today I had a thought, WP:FOOTY has featured articles, featured lists (even a stray featured pic on commons) but as yet, no Featured topics. Looking through the criteria for these it seems like the collection of Gillingham articles may be a bit of a shoo-in if those that aren't featured could get GA or could be excused under the caveat that "Items that cannot achieve a high rating due to their limited subject matter have passed an individual audit for quality." Have a look and see what you think, of course I'm much too lazy and distraught by the current financial status of my beloved STFC to be bothered in helping, but I thought I'd recommend the FT to you if you're looking for a new challenge. FT nomination
[edit]Don't worry about the nom, I have archived it all now. I think Gillingham would be the way to go, though not if I beat you first with AVFC. ;) Only got one history article to do now, though it is taking some time and I'm off on hols soon. WP:FOOTY will soon have several potential FTs, no rush. Warm Christmas regards. Woody (talk) 14:04, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- GA don't do lists, FL is the only way up for lists. ;) Woody (talk) 14:28, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- They don't do lists under the reasoning that a list is either complete or it is not, so FL is the only way to do them. It will do fine at FL, a good peer review should clean up all the problems. I will take a look at it now. It is not as if there isn't a precedent to follow. Woody (talk) 14:32, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

4. Should be done in copyedit, shouldn't it?

Image copyright problem with Image:Drawing4562563657365865846.svg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Drawing4562563657365865846.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:03, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Current featured noms
[edit]Hey Chris, just back from holidays and I noticed you've got two featured noms running. I managed to miss both PRs but I'll try to get onto to providing comments to you as soon as possible. Hope you had a good holiday period... work tomorrow, yuck. All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 11:44, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Chris, reviewed Stocksbridge, next one coming soon. I've left some comments on the talk page (rather than the FAC page, since I missed the PR, don't want to bloat the FAC), hope some of them are useful, let me know. All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 10:36, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Chris, List of Gills bosses now reviewed, again I've left comments but not so many and they're at the FLC. Let me know when you want me to review both again! The Rambling Man (talk) 11:23, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- All good, but I think you now need a ref for Pulis misconduct...! The Rambling Man (talk) 11:31, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Aha, new graph. Nice one! The Rambling Man (talk) 19:00, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:SteelsOldCrest.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:SteelsOldCrest.jpg.
Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:44, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Featured topic
[edit]Yeah, very nice. I'll have a better look when I get to work but that looks like a winner! I may need to do some work on ITFC, only need to get the history and Portman Rd up to (at least) GA and I'll be on your heels! The Rambling Man (talk) 07:30, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Gills

Featured topics
[edit]Hey. Seeing Gillingham's success, so far at least, at WP:FT, I wondered whether you feel York City and its related articles would pass this? Only part of the criteria that seems a bit obscure is the use of "featured articles", which I'm assuming is referring to featured content in general? Hope so, anyway. And I'll be taking a look at Gillingham FTC soon! Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 18:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Per WP:BLP, what was your criteria in declaring him dead? Was someone younger declared the oldest of a category he's in (ie. So and so born in 1908 was the oldest living member of this club, therefore White must be dead)? Cheers, CP 17:32, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
WP:LOTD
[edit]In the last month, you have created a new WP:FL. From what I can tell, you are a veteran and have produced others in the past. Congratulations! You may be aware of WP:LOTD and have probably heard from me in prior months. We are experimenting with selecting Lists of the Day so similar to the current WP:TFA and WP:POTD features that run on the main page. I am invite those who have created new FLs in the last month to participate.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 21:59, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Something to look at should you have the time. Possibly the most controversial list WP:FOOTBALL has seen for a while! We had a superb PR (makes a change!) so hopefully the FLC should fly. I'd be interested in your views! All the best The Rambling Man (talk) 23:01, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
