1930 Mestaruussarja

[edit]

Hi Rakuteno6. It is great to hear from you. Your additions look fine and improve the base information. If you wish to it would be easy to add a further section on "Participating clubs" - refer to 2001 Veikkausliiga to copy a template. This will then allow enough room to include a map:

At the moment I am running into difficulties using this 1920-40 map - http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Finland_%281920-1940%29_location_map.svg&filetimestamp=20100216184500

You will notice that I have now inserted the map on the 1930 Mestaruussarja page. I have also presented the map to WP.FOOTY - hopefully someone will subsequently insert the 1920-40 version for us. Kind regards League Octopus (League Octopus 15:23, 6 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]
Koppapa has now fixed it for us and I have substituted the correct version on your page. League Octopus (League Octopus 15:28, 6 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Sports Museum of Finland

[edit]

Hi Rakuten06. Player articles are not my specialism and I have asked GiantSnowman if he can assist on that one. The website that is very good for historical material on Finnish football is the Sports Museum of Finland. Use these links to access the most useful historical articles - http://www.urheilumuseo.fi/Default.aspx?tabid=2986 and http://www.urheilumuseo.fi/Desktopmodules/etaika_arkistot_extra/tiedostot.aspx?ID=2742.

These documents cover the early years:

Holger Salin appears a few times in both the above articles. Kind regards League Octopus (League Octopus 09:43, 7 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]

I know a bit of Finnish but I rely a lot on Google Translate and the "common football language". I cannot speak a word of Portuguese but have recently produced CU Micaelense (not quite completed) and CD Operário - the language barrier is not really as significant as one might think. Re the Holger Salin article it is good to use a template that you are comfortable with. League Octopus (League Octopus 13:40, 7 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]
Google Translate is an option if you ever wish to write an in depth article but it obviously has to be used very carefully. Your revamped 1931 Mestaruussarja looks fine. League Octopus (League Octopus 14:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Hi there - it's still not long enough to not have the stub tag, but having a stub tag isn't a bad thing - in fact, it can be good, as it lets editors know that there is a short article that needs improving! If you need any more help then please let me know. Thanks, GiantSnowman 12:43, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There's the possibility that Worldfootball simply matches his international years as his club years, but it's the only source I can find which details his club years! GiantSnowman 12:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There are plenty of sites available - we try and keep a list here. Also feel free to ask at WT:FOOTBALL in case anybody has any off-line sources such as books, magazines etc. 13:08, 7 July 2012 (UTC)GiantSnowman

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
