User talk:Chachu207
Welcome!
[edit]I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.
Additional tips
[edit]Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
Happy Wiki-ing.
[edit]Protecting your userboxes
[edit]Because of the current campaign against userboxes, it's pretty likely that many of your boxes are going to get deleted from their template space soon (especially your Flying Spaghetti Monsterism box, but in general, any boxes that could be considered to express a point of view someone might disagree with). These templates could very possibly be deleted in the next week or two. The best (and really, only) way to protect those userboxes is to perform a "substitute" command on each one of them, which will put the code directly into your page, instead of calling on the template every time your page is loaded. That way, when the template is deleted, it has no effect on the code resident on your page.
In order to do this, go into your user page, and wherever you have a template, insert "subst" inside the brackets. So,
{{template name}} becomes {{subst:template name}}
and your userboxes will all take up residence on your page. Sometimes this makes the formatting funky, and will require some tweaking in the code to restore the layout of your boxes as they were before. If you have any questions about this, please drop me a line. Regards, JDoorjam Talk 23:26, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks very much for letting me know about this, and I will change my UserPage ASAP! --Chachu207 11:13, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
OK, all done now. PS, if anyone sees this message, DO THE SUBST THING! Life or death! --Chachu207 18:49, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:PIC834714.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:PIC834714.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]Hi -- I appreciate your offer to looking over my Amherst Museum article. I'm afraid I couldn't find any comments you had though -- you indicated they'd be here? --Hiraeth 17:39, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry. I havent put them on yet. But, no time like the present, so... The article is good overall, but it reads a bit like an ad, so is not technically NPOV. I would also suggest the removal of bullet pointed text, and the insertion of paragraphed text, in proper sentences. If anything else crops up, i'll leave a message here, or on the article discussion page. --Chachu207 18:35, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you. I was wondering about that myself. I work in marketing, so I tend to write everything that way -- I appreciate the advice! --Hiraeth 19:16, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Law Enforcement Project
[edit]Hello, I guess its just us for now, do you wish to start talking about hitting off this project? Tutmosis 00:45, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- First of all, thanks for following up my ad. Second, I was thinking of development of templates, standardisation of articles, and other stuff, which I have listed on the main page. --Chachu207 17:41, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Hello there. I just noticed your message from way back in February re your project. Sounds interesting but being relatively new to this computer technology you'll have to keep it nice and simple! Your project sounds interesting and I can give you some input from an operational stand point. Anything need looking at? Dibble999 13:51, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, thanks for your offer, and due to the small size of the project, all that needs doing is starting and expanding requested articles, and the like. Any templates, or other ideas that you might have would be most welcome. --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 03:09, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Concordia is an organization of editors on Wikipedia that strive to encourage civility and fair treatment among all editors in the Wikipedian community, from the Wikignome to the Wikiholic. We currently need help in getting going, and making the community understand our aims. We work for civility. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you have ideas, let us know at our talk page, or on the IRC channel. We aim to spread civility in every way we can.

WikiProject Law Enforcement
[edit]Is there a project header for this wikiproject? You know, a "this article is art of wikiproject law enforcement, b class," and so on? If not how do we go about making one? It would just be nice to be able to put something in the talk pages of the articles that's all, ive written two that should have it but as yet have nothing to put there. Many thanks. --SGGH 16:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I've made a wikiproject banner, member banner and started putting the banners on articles that should be in the project. I am still eagerly awaiting your thoughts and contributions.--SGGH 13:46, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Are you actually still wanting to be a part of this wikiproject? Please let me know, I've begun recruitment and so on.--SGGH 15:20, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Further apologies from me, as I'm still not sure if you want to lead the project, technically its your project as you set it up, iv just been in your shoes for a little while, so to speak.--SGGH 17:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, glad to see that we're now in communication, and I have to say that I would be very willing to let you take over as leader, but I would appreciate some form of position. Your decision really. --Chachu207 ::: Talk to me 18:10, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
[edit]- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
[edit]The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

- Yes but as long as he doesn't say the word "police" or have any items that only the police have (eg. batons, cs gas) he should at least have the words "security" on his front and back (front badge = breast patch, back = large) and if asked if he is police, to answer no immediately. Speedy deletion of Template:Moved to Reference Desk
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:Moved to Reference Desk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

License tagging for File:Peru exit stamp.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Peru exit stamp.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:05, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:EntranceWest.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:EntranceWest.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 11:25, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
