Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, Cambalachero,
I noticed that your sources are two biased. Most of the articles are from La Nación, which is a right wing newspaper, MDZ online, another dubious right wing source. Please take into account that all points of view should be reflected. Opinions from other ideological standpoints should be welcomed, not just deleted. Mi additions have not been slanted, since they were all backed up with leadings newspapers in Argentina, and authoritative opinions. I also detected some typos. Before publishing your work, please run the spellchecker. If you continue editing work, I will keep on reverting the changes, it just takes using the Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V keyboard shortcuts. I suggest editing just part of my work.

- Left and right have nothing to do with a source being reliable or not. La Nación is a newspaper of record, and the second highest sold newspaper of Argentina. El Argentino and Página 12, on the other hand, have been financed by the Kirchner government to act as their propaganda networks, twisting information to fit their political agenda. And they have very low sales: now that the government does not finance them, they are on the brink of bankruptcy. They are neither leading nor authoritative. Carlos Menem
Hello Cambalachero: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Carlos Menem has been completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
You will notice that I have archived one the article's citations (#2) and I suggest that you archive the rest of the urls as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop “dead links” over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at one of the url's I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=22 February 2015}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.
Kind regards, Twofingered Typist (talk) 21:28, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
@Twofingered Typist: Cambalachero: In This edit of Carlos Menem, you inserted the italicized words in this sentence: During this time he helped the chaplain Lorenzo Lavalle, despite of being a Muslim. What is your source for Lavalle being a Muslim? —Anomalocaris (talk) 22:10, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- I now understand you mean, despite Menem being a Muslim. I don't know why it should be surprising that a Muslim would help a non-Muslim chaplain, but whatever. —Anomalocaris (talk) 22:27, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Anomalocaris: I only copy edited this article. Other than that, and archiving a URL so that Cambalachero, who requested the copy edit, can see the syntax, I have no responsibility for the content. I see the statement is now flagged for a citation which is a good idea. Regards Twofingered Typist (talk) 12:06, 11 May 2016 (UTC)

Question on Wikipedia Articles on Treaties
Dear Cambalachero. I hope everything is going good with you. I am interested in starting work on the article about the Secret treaty of Alliance between Peru and Bolivia (1873) (which I am currently proposing to rename as the Treaty of Defensive Alliance (Bolivia–Peru) at the article's talk page). I wanted to know if you had ever worked on a similar project in the past and, if so (and if it is not too much of a bother), if you could please provide me with some pointers (perhaps a model article?) on what should be included in the page. It's nothing urgent, so please do respond whenever it is most convenient for you. Best.--MarshalN20 Talk 17:58, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, but you are on your own in this. Remember that I declined to be included in the topic ban appeal, so that you could get rid of it, without the divisive opinions towards me getting in the way. However, I think I can give you a generalist advise: think of a well known and visible analog of the topic you want to edit, which is from the English-speaking world. I will surely have been seen and edited by many more users, and be in a good format to follow (saving the distances). For example, if I want a model for the articles about presidents, I check the article of Barack Obama; if I want a model for a comic strip, I check the article of Peanuts, if I want a model for a heavy metal band, I check the article of Megadeth, and so on. Cambalachero (talk) 18:17, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, the TB slipped my mind. Sorry about the mix-up, Cambalachero! I will follow the suggestion. By the way, have you considered also appealing the TBAN? Plenty of time has already passed and I do not think that it is in any way being preventative of anything (nor that it ever was to begin with). In any case, let me know if I can be of help. Sincerely.--MarshalN20 Talk 18:34, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Public image of CFK
Hi! I'm sorry for my long absence – it's been a turbulent few weeks, and as you pointed out, I failed to deliver on my promise to write an alternative article on CFK's public image. For that, too, I apologize.
However, I got some done a few weeks ago, and I think it would serve as a good starting point for an improved article. Despite your objections, I have among other things established a controveries section. See for yourself if it seems decent. If you accept this, we could easily fill in the remaining information, including info from the current article. I hope we can put the rather heated argument from earlier aside, and work together more constructively from now on, as you obviously sit on a lot of knowledge on the subject. :)
It's obviously not nearly as rounded or complete as the current version, but just take a look.

Μαρκος Δ (talk) 23:07, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi again. But that is my point – you are presenting your opinions as fact. That is what I've tried to tell you all along: your language is not encyclopaedic, even if the basic information is correct. So when it comes to the word "alleged" in reference to, for example, their cult of personality, that's not because I'm denying that it's near-universally accepted, which it could well be for all I know. The point is that you are writing information as if it were universal truth.
- Your language goes "CFK has a cult of personality and manipulates the media, because [reason]", while the correct phrasing, as in any Wikipedia article on a politican regardless of political color, would be "According to [commentator], CFK has a cult of personality, and [rival] has alleged her of manipulation." Do you see the difference? I'm not disagreeing with your allegations, but you cannot honestly argue against the use of "allegedly" in the text -- that is standard phrasing for anything even remotely controversial. If the original article were unbiased, it would not have received any negative reactions, as Wikipedia articles are supposed to be exclusively based on hard, undisputable facts. I wouldn't have made any changes if it met all standards. As you pointed out, I am a socialist. However, I still understand that socialist governments have made mistakes, including in my own country. I'm not covering that up, and I'm not denying CFK's mistakes. On the contrary, I have included them in my draft, using neutral, impartial and unbiased language.
- Wikipedia articles should not be politically colored. Is it a coincidence that the article in question, which has been accused of partiality, was written by a vocal anti-Kirchnerist? Do you really think so? Doesn't that just prove my point that the anti-Kirchner bias shines through? Especially because I myself am not a Kirchner supporter, and have few to no strong feelings about her or her party.
- You literally just used the sentence "The supporters of the Kirchners are proud of their blind loyalty to their leaders". Would you call this impartial language? Would you say that someone with these views, and who is unable to put these views aside to write seriously and factually about CFK, should be allowed to edit her article? You personally hold the opinion think their loyalty is blind, but it's not a fact, and should certainly not be language used on Wikipedia.
- I'm sorry, but if you are unable to see the difference between the examples I used, and you still don't get the point, I suggest we have to contact unbiased, third-party editors to fix the article and settle the argument. I hope you agree with me here.

Hello, I'm ThePlatypusofDoom. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Cristina Fernández de Kirchner without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Welcome
Welcome aboard! Good to have quality editors in support! Can you help spread the word on this and invite more people? Currently running Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, which would be great to see for Latin countries on here, they badly need it too! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:39, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
Alphabetical
Hi, though I don't object to it, long term it would be difficult due to page size we have to archive after 1000 or 2000. See Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. Plus when the list gets in the thousands it will take quite an effort to scan down the lists to find the alphabetical place. I think we're best with just order of improvement. People will find it easier to just add to the end when it gets big!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:56, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
I think we'll stick with alphabetical after all, I agree it looks tidier. But might be trickier when the list grows. I will try to get more people on board with it next week. Hope you continue to contribute to it in the meantime and we can do a Destubathon for it soon!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:56, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:28, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Dispute Notification
I have filed a dispute on the article of Fidel Castro. I do this because it is recommended "If you begin a discussion of another user on a common notice board, it is expected that you will notify the subject user by posting a message on their talk page". Do not report me as vandal. This is the only instance in which I will write something here. If this is not the way to do it, let me know how it is done. Editor of the Week
Editor of the Week | ||
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week for your long–term FA and DYK work. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project) |
User:MarshalN20 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:
- I nominate Cambalachero to be Editor of the Week. Cambalachero has written 2 featured articles, one of them of great importance to the history of Argentina (May Revolution) and the other about a disaster that hit close to his home (2013 Rosario gas explosion). He has contributed 117 Did You Knows, and continues to improve articles related to Argentina (with numerous successful good article nominations). Basically, Cambalachero is here to write an encyclopedia, and I think that this focus on the central mission of Wikipedia should be rewarded by his peers.
You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

About your biased editing in Alberto Nisman's article
I write you here so we don't drag along this issue any further, instead of just waiting for you to answer in the article's talk page (of course, feel free to answer there if you will):
You are just plain wrong here. If you don't want to leave the section "Political contacts with the CIA, FBI and US Embassy" because of that "conspiracy theories out" argument, we can discuss it further at another time. BUT you ALSO want to delete the section "Alleged money laundering and undeclared earnings" just because you feel so, speciallly considering that it is NOT a part of O'Donnell and Wikileaks controversy in the article. In fact, the information about Nisman's alleged money laundering, undeclared earnings and information about secret offshore accounts comes from totally differente journalists and newspapers. So, what's your excuse here? You just want to delete it for your own personal reasons, otherwise you could have talked about it first here. You sir, are a nothing but a devious hypocrite, and I expect this injustice to be corrected.
Then again, nobody mentions the fact that both sections -"Political contacts with the CIA, FBI and US Embassy" and "Alleged money laundering and undeclared earnings"- are indeed in the Spanish entry of this same article. So let me ask you again, why is everyone who allow it to be there wrong and ONLY YOU are right here?
