Happy New Year CAWylie!

The Bible A.D. MiniSeries

The wrong Kevin Doyle is credited/linked on this page. The correct Doyle was is British, but was born in 1960 AND is famed actor in the acclaimed TV show Downton Abbey. The link on this page now is to a British soccer player. Mr. Doyle's page should also be updated with a television credit for AD The Bible Continues. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.251.145.220 (talk) 01:48, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! Next time, feel free to be bold and change things yourself. — Wyliepedia 03:45, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Killed in January

Yes of course, but you didn't move them to January, nor do we know what date to move them to. Surely there's room for listing them as of today, based on the announcement. -- Y not? 20:34, 23 April 2015 (UTC)

There. Happy, now? This discussion belongs on the Deaths talkpage, by the way. — Wyliepedia 20:38, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
I am happy, thanks. You're unnecessarily unpleasant. -- Y not? 20:41, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
It ain't easy being green. I'm just not one to like those listed there that are only notable in death. Hence, my suggestion above. — Wyliepedia 20:45, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Gadahn is clearly notable, Weinstein more tenuous but was kept at AfD. Lo Porto probably NN, we'll find out I guess. -- Y not? 20:53, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Don't really care. This is a DI2015 matter. — Wyliepedia 22:00, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Don't look now... — Wyliepedia 04:13, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Moved to January, with specified death date. Looks good. -- Y not? 16:58, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Episode list for unaired but announced episodes (WP:TVUPCOMING)

Hi CAWylie, I wanted to have your opinion on why shows shouldn't be added before they aired. (I wanted to add an episode list for Dominion, when I saw your comment (Do not add (2015) until episodes have aired in 2015, as per WP:TVUPCOMING.)) I am asking because I am doing some work for a website which grabs its infos for upcoming tv shows from Wikipedia and I couldn't find anything regarding this matter in the WP:TVUPCOMING site. Will it be from now on that the episodes are only added if they aired? Or did I misunderstand something and can still be added when the episode is officially announced? If not, is it possible to add the announced episodes as a comment to the site? Thanks for your help Goreb (talk) 14:15, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

@Goreb: Adding 2015 to section headers and in other areas for shows or seasons presumes the shows or seasons will start this year. It's perfectly okay to add episode tables with titles as long as those titles or dates are sourced (and not from IMDb) and officially announced. — Wyliepedia 22:57, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

Reddit

Wylie, what's the prevailing wisdom on the reliability of Reddit AMA's? James Duff did one on Major Crimes yesterday, and says they have 18 episodes this season (see here; it's only a short way down). I'd like to add it, but not at the expense of the usual suspects getting their panties in a bunch. --Drmargi (talk) 01:03, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

@Drmargi: I consider it a social media site, but, since Twitter is pseudo-acceptable for such minutiae, I don't have a problem with adding its info. James Duff's posts could also be acceptable "self sources". Heck, even Futon has been inaccurate at times, but is gospel 'round here. — Wyliepedia 01:20, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Ordinarily I'd be reluctant, but this seems pretty unambiguous. Well give it a whirl. --Drmargi (talk) 01:23, 10 June 2015 (UTC) (And thanks for fixing the link.)
Are you whirling or am I? (And bare URLs exceed the margins on some devices, shrinks my phone screen. Habit.) — Wyliepedia 01:28, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
I will. I need a cheap thrill. --Drmargi (talk) 01:44, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Uhhh. Gawrsh! @Drmargi: I added to your thrill. — Wyliepedia 02:20, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Made you blush! I'll check it out. --Drmargi (talk) 03:33, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Man, you're fast

Josef Masopust just died. The Czech Wikipedia doesn't have any changes yet, other than the date of death. ---- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.228.166.148 (talk) 17:59, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. That's the beauty of reliable online news agencies. — Wyliepedia 19:44, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi, CAWylie. Thanks for your concern about Dylann. This redirect is an {{R from given name}}, and redirects to Dylann Roof because "Wikipedia has only one biographical article of a person by this given name." See Template:R from given name for more information. If you still have concerns about it, take it to WP:RFD. See also: Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2015_April_12#Johnni. Thanks, -- Tavix (talk) 00:09, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Please discuss it there, not here. — Wyliepedia 00:18, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Then respond at the talk page. I posted it at Talk:Dylann. -- Tavix (talk) 00:25, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Welcome back

Hi Wylie, welcome back after your break away. You have probably noticed that an old regular has returned to Deaths in 2015, so we will have more "gnoming" to do. Regards, WWGB (talk) 11:35, 21 July 2015 (UTC)

@WWGB: it's more of a life reset than a Wikibreak. No computer, phone went from iOS to a crappy prepaid one with crappier internet service. But yes the housekeeping duties here have resurfaced. Need more towels and pillow mints. Cheers. — Wyliepedia 16:20, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Deaths- Jeannette Cathy

Just me being sneaky. More than 1 way to skate something past the Man.

Saw where you said Hi on my page. Been really busy. My father has Parkinson's so I have been traveling back and forth quite a bit. Hopefully things will settle down soon.Sunnydoo (talk) 06:18, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello CAWylie, Thanks for recent edits on Jenny Beck. That page is somewhat confused and before your edits contained a DoB and career details for a different actress. It seems there are 2 Jenny Becks. Jenny (IMDb) and Jennifer Rae (IMDb). There is also a post here. If you get time can you take another look at the article. Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 03:33, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Update the "Rae" was inserted into the name in June 2015 here by an IP editor. I wonder if it was a deliberate attempt to confuse? Eagleash (talk) 04:16, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
I replied at the BLP board. It's possible wishful thinking and jumping the gun by the IP. — Wyliepedia 04:22, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
If both had been active until recently, pictures would help. Wyliepedia 04:23, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Morristown

Why did you removed my addition to The Morristown, Tennessee article????????? --ACase0000 (talk) 02:58, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Replaced the section. However, I still think that Wikipedia is not a travel guide, nor should any of the places listed have their own articles. Lived here for 46 years, nothing notable thus far. — Wyliepedia 04:32, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
I am sorry. However I am in the process of creating articles on two of the places I listed. I am sorry for an trouble. :) --ACase0000 (talk) 04:49, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Also I never said you have to add the section back. Like you said, "nothing notable thus far." --ACase0000 (talk) 04:54, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
WP:US Cities says adding neighborhoods is okay. I just think it bloats the pages and adding one paragraph neighborhood articles just bog down WP. — Wyliepedia 05:02, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
I am sorry for any trouble. Have a good night. :) --ACase0000 (talk) 05:23, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
And yet you will do them anyway. I am taking Morristown off my Watchlist now. — Wyliepedia 05:27, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
What does this have to do with my Communities section and you removing Morristown from your watch list? I have not did a thing. I am confused. --ACase0000 (talk) 05:41, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

You apologize for troubling me, so I am preventing it. Pardon me while I sleep now. — Wyliepedia 05:52, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

I am very sorry. I won't be editing the Morristown page again. :) You don't have to remove a page cause someone else edits it. Good Night, Sir. I hope you rest well :) --ACase0000 (talk) 05:58, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Last call, last reply. I'm not claiming ownership of the page, but I have done 15% of the edits there to try and keep it concise and encyclopedic. Add what you want, I care not, but I don't believe it should mirror the graveyard of text that is Knoxville, Tennessee#Neighborhoods. Happy editing. — Wyliepedia 06:03, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
I understand. :) Also thank you for all your hard work on Wikipedia. :) You don't have to reply to this message. --ACase0000 (talk) 06:10, 16 September 2015 (UTC)
Okayyy am logging off now. WP notifies me when you reply, via phone jingle so buh-bye, bye now, buh-bye. — Wyliepedia 06:16, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

How merged? Moved?Xx236 (talk) 08:25, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Merge-move, yes. But please keep any further discussion here. Thank you. — Wyliepedia 11:35, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Pat Dunne. Sorry, my mistake.

Hi, Sorry I hit the wrong button and reverted an otherwise good edit. --Dmol (talk) 01:09, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

It's alright, although I was about to give you a jingle. — Wyliepedia 01:11, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

I don't get the lawyer bit.

Was it just because I used the word "law", or is there something about wanting a RfC to actually lead to a stable consensus that makes me a lawyer? If it's the former, I can change that to "guideline". If the latter, would it be better to expect the standard we arrive at to only stick for a few months or weeks? It sounded like you were also sick of the constant inconsistency among us, by your comment.

A little clarity? InedibleHulk (talk) 19:59, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

"Former" CEO

On the Recent Deaths page, I noticed that you deleted the "former" from the item I posted about Andy Grove. I referred to Grove as "former CEO and Chairman" not because he was dead, but because he didn't hold either title at the time of his death, having already retired from both positions. But I don't know what the stylistic conventions are around that, and whether there's a useful standard way to indicate whether or not people still held notable titles at the time of their deaths. Schoen (talk) 00:31, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Butch Jones article

Add the Butch Jones article to your watchlist if you haven't already. I've been reverting vandalism and non-npov for the past hour or so, and I imagine more will be coming in the next few days. I did request semi-protect. Bms4881 (talk) 05:48, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. I sent them a little welcome, stop it message. Most pages don't get protection for one vandal, but they can sure get warnings and banned if they persist. — Wyliepedia 06:30, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

Gratitude

Thank you so much for your well spoken 2-cents-worth on Scream Queens. I appreciate it so. You have done amazing work over the years on some of my favorites (Fringe, American Horror Story), and I want you to know that your indelible work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Here's to many more years of contribution. LLArrow (talk) 23:45, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Invitation

Thanks for your recent edits to women's basketball related articles. I'd like to bring your attention to and invite you to be a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Basketball/Women's_basketball. It isn't very big, and there's lots to do, but this is a place to keep track of what needs to be done.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:08, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! Might as well join. Did three in one day! — Wyliepedia 13:10, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Suggested process

We are new enough that not all processes are standardized or even recorded but here's what I do in some situations:

When I create a new team year page, such as 2015–16 Florida Gators women's basketball team

I add a checkmark, if it is just a year page (or two, if a year page with roster), to the relevant Group table list here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Basketball/Women's_basketball/US_College_Division_1

Then, if I created a new roster, I copy that roster to the general team page, for example, I just did that for Florida Gators women's basketball--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:49, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

I'll leave it up to you whether the general team page for Georgia and Tennessee should also have the current roster. They didn't have an old roster so I didn't update it.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:52, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Color module: East Tennessee

Hey, CA. Can you provide a linked source for this addition: [1]? We're in the process of trying to establish documentation standards for additions and changes to the college color module, and your cooperation and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 18:49, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Sorry. Added here. — Wyliepedia 19:06, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. That's perfect for now. I replied on the module talk page, too. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:25, 2 November 2015 (UTC)

Good One

You and WWGB are on fire tonight with the humor. Both of those gave me a pretty good laugh. Dont get too many chances with Gardeners going in, guess you just have to pick your opportunities and prune your references. You have really planted the seed with this one.Sunnydoo (talk) 02:59, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Do you get paid by Wikipedia?

Do you get paid by Wikipedia? Do you know anyone who gets paid by wikipedia? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Odirjmm (talkcontribs) 23:47, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

No, I don't get paid. Only these people do. — Wyliepedia 23:51, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

If you get a chance

I put up a death on WWGBs talk page to be reviewed before i put it in. It would be an exception to the rule so I thought we should discuss it first. It is for Patsy Cline's husband, Charlie Dick, that has died. Pop over and let us know how you feel.
