GP riders

[edit]

Hi, please try to take more care when creating new articles for GP riders, there is already a lot of backlog for this kind of biographies: in the lead sentence, a bracket is missing after the birth place; the direct links to season articles are currently "20xx Moto3 season", without "Series"; don't be misled by bad examples (long story, not your fault) so please avoid adding unformatted lines in the career statistics section (e.g. 2015- 16th, FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship) but consider converting them in prose; at the end of the article, add , and then . In this way, other users would save some time. Thanks, –Gpmat (talk) 09:12, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You are still missing the closing bracket after the birth place! –Gpmat (talk) 10:04, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So many articles without references

[edit]

Hello! Am I missing something? Why are you creating so many detailed articles on Grand Prix racers, without providing any references for them? All BLP's have to have at least one reference...HappyValleyEditor (talk) 15:21, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, partly my mistake-- I nominated many of your racer articles for PROD as they had no refs. But they did have an external link with the info needed, so I went through and converted them to proper inline references. Maybe you can make them inline refs in future articles? Please stop trying to introduce flagicons to this article. This RfC at WikiProject Boxing concluded that there is WP:NOCONSENSUS on the issue of flagicons, therefore the original edition of the article without them should stand. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 17:40, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why there is this kinda problems? IMO its look much better with flag icons and its opponents nationality is good to know. Most of boxers profiles have flag icons so why this article have problems with them.

As I said, read the RfC to find out what the issues are—there are many, and it goes much further than just "But they look good!" WP:NOCONSENSUS is just how it is for now. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 17:55, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, most of those reasons are totally bullshit. Also there is many kind of reasons but still most of wikipedia boxer profiles dont have that problem. Its not make any sense. They still represent their countiries and its important thing to see in those boxing records.

Sure, sure. Heard it all before. WikiProject MMA got rid of flagicons in 2011, and those records look great now—nice and tidy, with no eye-candy cluttering it up and people changing flags because of ethnicity/citizenship, etc. Those Project members had to put up with a lot of whining, complaining, calls of "Bullshit, I wanna see cute little flaggies, waaahh!", but eventually logic (and WP:MOSFLAG) prevailed and *gone* went the icons. Just like that. The next RfC for them on boxing records will be around soon, so drop on by when it happens. It'll likely resolve the WP:NOCONSENSUS. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:42, 8 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. Wikipedia should show all information needed and fighters natioanlity is one important thing. MMA profiles not look good because they miss important information. Wikipedia have lot of problems and also F1 racing recors look terrible these days after they change them bigger.

Numbers

[edit]

Please don't re-add numbers in 'By season' tables, they were already added by another user some time ago and then progressively removed (not always by me—example) as they are insignificant, they have no implication in a rider's results. –Gpmat (talk) 17:25, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And do we really need those new tables, just the latest way to fill empty articles, generating even more backlog and increasing the (future) amount of work to do after every race to keep them updated?–Gpmat (talk) 17:33, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I won't update feeder series statistics then. I update only GP riders list which is incomplete.

I'm not sure but I think that the team column was possibly kept because it gives a minimum of information, more than the bike number that by itself may have no meaning.
Unless they are judged to be non-notable by other users, I wouldn't delete the tables you have added. I just thought that having one more table for Grand Prix statistics was probably too much, in my opinion at least. –Gpmat (talk) 20:55, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Osian Pryce

[edit]

Hello, Boxingup. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Osian Pryce".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the db-afc, db-draft, or db-g13 code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 21:55, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
