April 2021
[edit]Hi BandH2020! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at St. Joseph School (South Bend, Indiana) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Hello and thank you. First of all, I'm new to Wikipedia and still a learner. I have a bit of experience with html and thought I could apply that here. Secondly, I'll try not to make that mistake in the future. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BandH2020 (talk • contribs) 23:16, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions alert: post-1992 United States politics
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Transportation in South Bend, Indiana. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. —twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 02:36, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, however was this was my intention. The maintenance template cited two issues with the article; bare URLs and link rot as well as not citing all of the necessary resources. I removed part of the message (on purpose) because I had removed and replaced all the links that suffered from link rot. I will be sure to give reason for things like this in the future by using the edit summary feature. BandH2020 (talk) 15:31, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- The problem is not really links that have actually suffered from link rot per se. It's that the article uses bare URLs which increases the risk of the sources being unverifiable if the links suffer from link rot in the future. —twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 23:31, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. That is much clearer. I believe that I understand now. One last question; when I wanted to create this article (Transportation in South Bend, Indiana), it was never a draft. It was never even reviewed and immediately moved to the articles section. Is there a reason for this? BandH2020 (talk) 23:51, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- So every autoconfirmed users, including yourself, can create articles without going to the draft process first, but if you want to use that process, you can go to Wikipedia:Articles for creation. —twotwofourtysix(My talk page and contributions) 00:09, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

A lengthy welcome
[edit]Hi BandH2020. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.
Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 17:42, 13 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited South Bend, Indiana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page St. Joseph River. Concern regarding Draft:South Bend Common Council
[edit]Hello, BandH2020. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:South Bend Common Council, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 21:02, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
The article Key Bank Center (South Bend) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Obviously the building exists, but can't find enough in-depth coverage of it to pass WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 12:04, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
