Lao script
Wow, you can type in Lao? It will be good to have someone here who can do that. Badagnani (talk) 08:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I am only a student of the language, but it seems desperately unrepresented here. Mostly I work over at Wiktionary, so I have a particular pleasure in linking up foreign-language words if it seems helpful. If there are pages you want me to look at, please feel free to let me know! Counter-offensive
User:96.229.179.106 seems to be on a counter-offensive against you, inserting Vietnamese into a host of articles about Chinese districts. DHN (talk) 17:46, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I doubt they have anything to do with Vietnam. I've seen some located in Hebei province. DHN (talk) 18:06, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
鍋巴/锅巴
I'll take a look. But its simply the dried crusty layer of rice from cooking rice in a wok over direct heat. Sjschen (talk) 20:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Not too sure, fact is most of the east asian cultures consume many of the same things. While few consider it to be a dish on its own, it is a item that is used in Chinese cuisine, and commonly served with soups or stews. In fact, the stuff is commercially manufactured in China due to demand. Sjschen (talk) 21:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I'll let you do the honours since you we first to find this info :) Sjschen (talk) 02:33, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jewelchang/2041191780/ is probably more representative of "tradition" guoba though. Sjschen (talk) 03:58, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
That should be okay, though it would be great if we got both of the above pictures Sjschen (talk) 04:07, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Really, the CJK versions of this scorched rice food is all the same. Should we just make one article for it instead of having three? Sjschen (talk) 01:31, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Maybe start a gallery? btw why do you think zhajiang mian and Jajangmyeon should be different articles? Really they are the same thing but with minor regional variations. No? Sjschen (talk) 21:09, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
I guess it all depends on the perception of differences, but I guess it's something that can be debated forever and ever. Merging the articles in these cases can becomes rather political and "heated", such as referring sushi as "Japanese Gimbap" or gimbap as "Korean sushi". With that in mind, what should this guoba/nurungji article be called then? Sjschen (talk) 21:29, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
WP:ANI#Long time abusing Wikipedia by Japanese editors from 2channel meat/sock puppets
Hi, Badagnani, I just come to inform you that you have been exposed to 2channel, Japanese famous bulletin board. Unfortunately, many Japanese editors seem to have abused Wikipedia with the threads for a long time. The discussion set up three days ago, but I let you know of this now. You remember the fruit revert warring around Korean fruits? That case is also related to this matter. Azukimonaka (talk · contribs) has been indefinitely blocked for his abusive sockpuppetry and you had met him to discuss Japanese or Korean cuisine related articles several times or his supposedly past socks. I translated some of information regarding you, but the threads are too many, so if you have a time to look at it, please visit the links listed there. I also add the diff in case you come to the page much later. If it is archived, you would find it in No. 380 or 381. Or use Special:Whatlinkshere Thanks. --Appletrees (talk) 02:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you're mentioned a lot because you have been editing Korean related article a lot especially on Korean cuisine and culture which are Azukimonaka and other sock/meats' interests (?). If you leave your thought on this to the ANI, I would appreciate your response more. Thanks. --Appletrees (talk) 10:35, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Brookingslogo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Brookingslogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi. I'm curious why you rolled back my revert on Long Xuyen. I had previously removed the WP:NN folks that were redlinks (per WP:BIO) and noted that in my edit summary. An anon IP had restored them. and I addressed that on his/her talk page. Toddst1 (talk) 01:59, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Use of word 'Karnatak'
No one writes 'Karnatak Sangeetha' in South Indian Languages. All write either "Karnataka Sangeetha' or 'Karnataka Sangeetham', I am not sure how 'Karnatak' came to English. I think accuracy in representing information using original word is more important than popularity. E.g. use of Indian words Anecut, Bungalow in English. Please post the details with evidences that why you think 'Karnatak' has to be included in the Carnatic Music Article. Also please give the reason why you deleted all corrections instead of adding 'Karnatak'. I will modify my future edits based on your response. Thanks.Naadapriya (talk) 10:20, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- The evidence is above. Most of the primary ethnomusicologists focusing on this music use the term to refer to the music. Thus, it needs to be included. Changes should be made very gradually and there was no consensus for the large set of changes implemented earlier. We can change each thing deliberately once there is consensus. Badagnani (talk) 17:55, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input. The new edit includes 'Karnatak'. The changes are very moderate and they have been discussed by 6-7 editors in detail since Feb 3, 2008. And all changes are strongly inter dependent and needed same time. The edits do not change the current template. Therefore further changes with discussions and consensus should be be made through edits. Sorry for the inadvertent typo of your name in the edit summary. I have fixed it with redirect.Naadapriya (talk) 09:34, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Your justification is not clear for recent 'undo'. I have included your suggestion of adding ' Karnatak'.
The template is there since beginning and I have followed it. It is not clear why you are using 'Undo' of my edits to fix an issue that is nothing to do with my consensus based edit. New format issue is an item to discuss than 'Undo' unrelated valid edits.Naadapriya (talk) 21:45, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I reviewed your discussions. Still I cannot find a valid objective evidence regarding 'Karnatak' by west accepted by Karnataka (Carnatic) music scholars. Please identify if you have already posted it. Otherwise please provide one with evidence that it is a scholarly article at least recognized by a reputed University that has department of Karnataka (Carnatic) music.Naadapriya (talk) 21:45, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Reply to message posted on Naadapripya's talk page: The revised lead paragraph was concise. It is important to tell readers about different names that the original name 'Karnataka Sangeetha' has. Also article is for all Wikipedia users not just for ethnomusicologists. Answer to previous comment about scholarly evidence is still needed to continue constructive editing.Naadapriya (talk) 22:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Reply to message posted on Naadapripya's talk page: My edits are nothing to do with 'etymology'. The current article that you were also involved for long time in editing does not have a section on 'etymology'. You never brought up the issue in discussions.
Also many other articles do not have 'etymology' section. The names quoted in the first paragraph are names used in parallel today which readers need to know in the very beginning. Except for the original name 'Karnataka Sangeetha' no one knows how other names came. Neither you have provided any scholarly evidence to date unless I have somehow missed it. If you think an 'Entomology section is needed then you should discuss not execute unrelated 'undo' of my edit. Still I do not understand the purpose behind your 'Undo' of my edits. With 'undo' now the article is left with incorrect statements contradicting the real evidences and it is giving wrong information to readers. Your random undos arestalling the progress towards posting accurate information. Please stop such 'undo'.Naadapriya (talk) 08:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Reply does not answer why 'undo' my edit which is not related etymology. Also please identify the correct reference for real evidence since many current ones in the article as identified by others editors are weasels.Naadapriya (talk) 09:04, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Takht, etc.
All looking good :-) I added the definite article to the Arabic name because I seem to be getting more google hits with it. — Zerida ☥ 23:16, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, it's the name of the qanun player. It would be spelled Fahmy Awad, BTW. — Zerida ☥ 23:41, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well, your Arabic seems quite good to me. With regard to Awad, while he himself was Egyptian and the ensemble here is done in distinctly Egyptian style, I don't believe the singer is and the scene doesn't look very familiar. My earlier google search indicated that Awad had helped set up the Tunisian orchestra in the 60s, so the clip may be of a performance from there. — Zerida ☥ 19:22, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update, Badagnani. I will certainly defer to Prof. El-Dabh here :-) — Zerida ☥ 02:29, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

List of genres in double bass article
I wonder if I could convince you to restore my edit which removed the list of genres from the lead in this article. Here's why I think my way is better. First of all, lists like that here (in Wikipedia in general) are always contentious things and tend to attract disproportionate amounts of flotsam and jetsam, as every passing editor wants to add their favorite item that simply must be in that list. Second, what I wrote was absolutely true: that the bass is used in many genres of popular and folk music world-wide. Notice I didn't claim that it's used in all genres, or that it's widely used in many modern types of music (which it isn't, as you correctly pointed out, compared to the electric bass). I'll watch here and see what you have to say about this. +ILike2BeAnonymous (talk) 23:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- The thing is, I think that list does cover the bases as far as "popular" genres go. Badagnani (talk) 00:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- But what about folk genres? other traditional types of music? Do you see the problem? Someone will always be able to come along and say "but such-and-such isn't listed here, so I'll add it". Better to keep it general than invite an endless stream of additions. +ILike2BeAnonymous (talk) 00:13, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Re:Rau dang
Bacopa monnieri seems to be called "rau đắng biển" (sea bitter herb) in Vietnamese. I think the more well-known version of "rau đắng" in Vietnamese is grown in people's back yards, not near the ocean, I'm not sure if it's applicable to Bacopa monnieri. By the way, it seems that this picture is of "rau đắng", not rau rang as the caption suggests. DHN (talk) 10:39, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Re:Phuong Vy
She has 4 names because her parents can afford 4 names (seriously...richer people like to give longer names to their daughters). Since she is known by the stage name Phuong Vy, I guess she should be sorted as such. DHN (talk) 23:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- The name is a single unit. Think of it as something like "Ma-don-na" DHN (talk) 23:55, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sort it under "Phuong Vy". DHN (talk) 00:41, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Re:Kai-lan
Seems like it's also known as "cải ná". I doubt rổ is a Sino-Vietnamese word; as with most food influenced by Cantonese immigrants, they are rarely known by their literary names. DHN (talk) 07:28, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Rổ means "basket"; I think in this case it's a corruption of some Cantonese term. DHN (talk) 07:51, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
waterboarding sources
Hi Badagnani, I don't like putting sources on a subpage. As we're saying right now at Talk:Waterboarding, hardly anyone bothers to read the sources--putting them on a supage makes it that much more unlikely that anyone will look at them.
One thing that occurs to me is that we could create Talk:Waterboarding/Sources, which could then be transcluded onto the main talk page. That way there would be no risk that the sources get archived, they would be visible on the main talk page, and we could have a numbering system. What do you think of that? --Akhilleus (talk) 03:36, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Talk:Tamil
The Tamil page is not an article, it is a disambiguation page. I am not sure that the WikiProject banner belongs on its talk page. There is enough problem with people putting all sorts of irrelevant material on the disambiguation page. Think about it. --Bejnar (talk) 07:45, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

See Sarsi (drink). DHN (talk) 01:50, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Believe it or not, the common word for "motorcycle" in Vietnamese is "Honda". This is an example of a genericized trademark. DHN (talk) 01:57, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I take it back. I am not aware of any word that corresponds to "root beer". According to vi.wiki, "xá xị" can mean several things:
- A name of several plants in the genus Sassafras
- The name of Smilax regelii
- The name of Aralia nudicaulis
- The soft drink made from Smilax regelii; a corruption from the Cantonese. DHN (talk) 02:04, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I asked around, the name used is indeed "xá xị". It's also known as "Thums Up", a brand name of a Coca-Cola product that has appeared in Vietnam in the past 2 years[1]. The dictionary definition you found is a description of what it is ("soft drink made from tree roots"), since there is no direct equivalence. DHN (talk) 16:41, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

non-Latin characters
Give me one good reason for including those characters, please. Tony (talk) 00:36, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm keen to explore different ways of doing this, since (1) including inline non-Latin text is disruptive to the reader and looks messy on the screen—certainly to the extent that is done so in that article; (2) non-Latin text is totally inaccessible to all but a tiny minority of English-speakers; and (3) is of questionable use even to those who do read Chinese. Some editors, you may have guessed, decide to do this to the hilt, providing the original where there's highly questionable utility even in searching on the Internet for an item, or verifying it in the original language.
- Why is it not preferable to give a glossary at the bottom of the article, listing the Chinese character equivalents for some of the items used in the main text? Read the version I created and seriously ask yourself whether that, or your gobbleygook, crowded, messy, foreign-looking version, will make more sense to all but the chosen few who speak and read Chinese.
- Another issue is that the pinyin and audio representations are provided without saying which Chinese language they are in: while Putonghua may be the default, hardly any non-expert readers will know that. Tony (talk) 01:35, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- You haven't said why any of the Chinese characters should clutter the text, rather than being sequestered in their own section at the bottom. And while they might be useful for you, you are one in a half a million users. Think of others, particularly the generalist readers. Or perhaps you intend that only experts read this text? Tony (talk) 01:49, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi Badagnani - I have reverted your edit to Hiroshima (band) - neither AsianAmerican-stub or LosAngeles-stub is appropriate for a stub on a band. No other bands have stubs relating to either the race of the people involved (imagine the huge number of bands which would flood any stub category for African-Americans. Bands are only stubbed according to either genre or nationality. Neither are bands stubbed according to the city in which they are based, unless their location is officially sanctioned/supported by local authorities (e.g., Anaheim Brass Band, City of Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra). A jazz band should be stubbed only with the appropriate nationality-band-stub and genre-band-stub. Grutness...wha? 06:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Please try to understand why stubs are sorted the way they are before mindlessly reverting an incorrect stubbing. Also, please realise that part of the reason for the removal was the deletion of {{Los Angeles-stub}}, per the decision at WP:SFD. You might like to check Category:Asian American stubs and Category:Los Angeles stubs, where you will see that no other bands are stubbed in this way. This article should NOT get AsianAmerican-stub, nor should it get LosAngeles-stub. Grutness...wha? 06:44, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
I respectfully disagree. Asian American bands are a rarified item, and the purpose of stubs is to bring editors with a particular interest or expertise to articles which they may improve. African American bands are just not comparable, because Asian American bands are so much less numerous. This is why blanket rules such as you are reverting (more blindly than I) are often not helpful to our project. The discussion page was the proper place to ask for the removal of the stubs through calm discussion, not reversion and use of all capital letters in edit summaries.
- What you're discussing is the use of a stub template for something for which it is not intended. Stub templates aren't meant to be for the benefit of the search by a specific WikiProject - that's what talk-page banner templates are for. If you wish the article to be listed by your wikiproject, I'd suggest using them - something that is already done, if the talk page is anything to go by. Stub templates are intended for use across Wikipedia by all editors, and as such are intended to be as uniform as possible for that reason. Which means that yes, African-American bands are exactly comparable, irrespective of numbers. So use an Asian-American banner template for your wikiproject on the talk page (which is appropriate), but don't use AsianAmerican-stub on the article itself (which isn't). As to using capital letters in edit summaries, I have not done so, as a quick check of the history of that article, its talk page, and this talk page, will show. Grutness...wha? 07:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. It does currently mention at the end of the previous paragraph that Cage was a student of Cowell's during the era. Do you have a source that states Cage specifically took the "Music of the World's Peoples" course (and perhaps specifically where)? Best, Dan.—DCGeist (talk) 07:47, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Choi Seung-hee films
Hi Badagnani. The "Bibliography" you moved to "Films" is actually a documentary video made in 2000. Choi Seung-hee did appear in films, and those should rightly go in a "Filmography" section. I think the documentary is more of a source/reference/bibliography though, and not really a "Choi Seung-hee" film. Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 23:20, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Food categories
I have moved a ton of dishes from the Category:Chinese cuisine into their respective cuisine. Please do not move them back. I am basically trying to organize them some more. Before, everything was lumped into one category. I am still no where close to done. I'll continue it later. Basically the Chinese cuisine category shouldn't have dish items. Your latest edit on Carnatic Music
Hello Badagnani. Your edit taking back the lead to earlier accepted version is OK with me. But your edit has removed the new subsection on' Ugaaboga' that was discussed and supported with no opposition. I assume you did not intend to remove it. Unless I hear otherwise from you I will add the new subsection on 'Ugaabogas' needed for the article. It is a very important element of Carnatic Music. ThanksNaadapriya (talk) 21:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
OK I will make it brief and add a separate article for 'Ugaaboga'. Many sections are too long in the article. Please make English corrections if needed.Naadapriya (talk) 06:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for editing my addition on Ugaabogas. It looks better now. I have added a new article to build this important item of Carnatic musicNaadapriya (talk) 07:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Ugaabhogas
Viruthams have existed for thousands of years, like slokams. They're like a raga alapana, but are lyrical by nature. Some Tevarams are sung as Viruthams, as are certain other forms...such as Ugabhoga. Ugabhogas are devotional by nature, much like the other forms, so it doesn't even belong in the CM article. Purandaradasar did NOT introduce the Ughabhoga - it was introduced by the Haridasa movement. The concept of virutham wasn't introduced by Papanasam Sivan - it existed thousands of years ago. Papanasam Sivan merely composed more, much like composers prior to his existence, including Gopalakrishna Bharathi, Muthu Thandavar and Arunachala Kavi. The editor pushing for the introduction of material has deliberately introduced factual errors. Ughabhogas are NOT integral to a concert. In fact, you can handpick which concerts actually have had ughabhogas sung in them. I request you raise these concerns at the relevant pages. Ncmvocalist (talk) 07:29, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
External links
Would you please explain your revert? What do you mean by "links seem good"? If you mean that they're working (as in not dead), then there's simply would be no end to dumping links there. None of those I removed would qualify as RS and are merely private websites of individuals. They are not authorities, they are not official sites and for all practical reasons, they're as good as blogs. Sarvagnya 19:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, at this site I need to evaluate the following for inclusion in the Korean wine article (I haven't run into any of them before and don't know where to include them):
- 처음처럼
- 설화
- 수복골드
- 군주
- 국향
Badagnani (talk) 01:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to butt in here uninvited, and I'm currently under the influence of a strong dose of cheongha, but thought I'd put in my two-cents. I do drink Korean wine, often, and enthusiastically. The names you list are all brands of drink made by the Doosan company. 처음처럼 (Cheo-eum cheoreom) is soju. 설화 (Seolhwa) I'm not sure about, but looks like a version of Nigori sake or makkoli. 수복골드 = Soobok Gold. It's 14% alcohol and looks like Cheongha, which I see links to nigori, but should probably more properly link to Sake, served cold. 군주... (Goonju) not sure. Looks like something I had in Korea called okmiju-- booze made from corn. All I can say with certainty about it is that it's tasty, and I'd like some to follow my cheongha... 국향, again, looks like cheongha... This probably doesn't help much, but I hope it does.... Regards. Dekkappai (talk) 04:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
You mean 국향 is like cheongha, but with added scent of chrysanthemum flowers? Or is that just the name? And why is the 군주 so orange in color? I think there must be some citrus in there. Badagnani (talk) 05:25, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- The above comments were pretty much guess-work on my part based on some years in Korea, much of that time spent enjoying the local liquor. I would guess your chrysanthemum theory is also correct, though again, just a guess. My guess that 군주 is something like okmiju was based on the color-- okmiju was orange-ish. As usual, I've got some other articles I'm planning to work on at present, but if I get time I'll look into the Korean wine article later and see if I can find some sourcing/information to help out. Cheers! Geonbae! Uihayo and all that... Dekkappai (talk) 18:58, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Badagnani. I don't know who put in the Chinese at the article, but I noticed the traditional & simplified were the same... which can't be right. As to dialect, she spoke Taishanese. Whether that's reflected in the Romanization, I don't know. Dekkappai (talk) 22:39, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Korean Chinese dishes?
copied from WP:KO--Appletrees (talk) 21:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I do not believe the dishes on "to-do list" Badagnani (talk · contribs) added are Koreanized Chinese foods, so spent some time searching relevant info. Indeed these are just Chinese dishes not to have become such dishes like jajangmyeon, jjamppong, or tangsuyuk. Therefore, I removed the dishes except ulmyeon, because I'm not sure whether the dish, a similar to da lu mian (打滷麵) in Chinese cuisine is Koreanized or not in Korea. The rest of dishes are transliterated in Korean. Badagnani, I think you should request your list to Chinese project. You can add Korean name for the dishes if articles regarding them are ever created. I put their original Chinese name and hanzi, so you can find needed info over the web.
- wēnlŭmiàn (溫滷麵 / ulmyeon 울면 in Korean) noodles, seafood, and vegetables in a chowder-like soup. It is similar to da lu mian (打滷麵)
- laziji (辣椒鷄 / rajogi, 라조기 in Korean) sliced chicken and vegetables with garlic and chili pepper[4]
- ganpengji (乾烹鷄 / kkanpunggi, 깐풍기 in Korean) chicken and vegetables sauteed with garlic-flavored sauce
- babaocai (八寶菜 / palbochae, 팔보채 in Korean) mixed seafood with hot sauce
- liang zhang pi (兩張皮 or 洋張皮 / yangjangpi, 양장피 in Korean) peeled lamb gut, seafood, and vegetables in mustard sauce)
--Appletrees (talk) 21:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- The above dishes are not as much familiar and moderate price as jjangnyeon, or tangsuyuk in Korean. Due to its cheap price and new taste, jajangmyeon has gotten into Korean culture deeply and Korean has tried to make Korean version of the dishes. However, the recipe of the above dishes are not much different from the original. Therefore, they're just Chinese dishes. However, the dishes are mostly from Shandong region, and I don't know they're popular there.--Appletrees (talk) 22:25, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
A little help....
I've noticed your great work over the years. Since I live in China, I've only been able to access Wikipedia by proxy and haven't been able to edit for a long time. Finally, the Great Chinese Firewall is letting Wikipedia through and I want to start editing again. Can you help me??? Do you know of a China city project or any spcific formatting issues for Chinese cities? The city stuff, say Guangzhou for example, is a mess. Can you point me in the right direction?Mike (talk) 07:01, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome. I went to work on the to-do-list for the China Project and started the List of Chinese Cuisine Names. Most of the regional cuisine pages are neat and tidy with just a few representative dishes listed. However, I looked at the Beijing Cuisine page and noticed a huge list. What do you think about just leaving 5 to 10 representative dishes and moving the rest to the cuisin name list? Or, we could follow a format similar to Cantonese which retains many dish names but icnludes more info, making it more encyclopedic rather than "list"? Mike (talk) 05:34, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Traditionally, yeast was the leavened, but I would be surprised if there were no added chemical leavening. Sodium or ammonium bicarbonate comes to mind. I have doubts about added aluminum, but who knows? Sjschen (talk) 23:36, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I doubt they use baking powder. But baking soda in the form of sodium bicarbonate, and possibly ammonium bicarbonate is used. The first is very safe for consumption but leaves a salty taste. The latter is not as safe when food is not completely cooked, but quite safe when the food is heated for prolonged periods since this drives off ammonia. Ammonium bicarbonate also does not leave the salty taste that happens with sodium bicarbonate. Sjschen (talk) 23:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
It's yeast[5]. As such natural fermentation with wild yeast may not be out of the question, perhaps this is why it's not on the ingredient list? Sjschen (talk) 23:54, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
The previous is 4 ingredient (flour, wheat gluten, water, yeast), this one uses 3 (wheat gluten, water, yeast). Sjschen (talk) 23:58, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I guess that depends on the subject of matter ;) Sjschen (talk) 15:45, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Washtub basses
Solid call. I just wanted to get those four articles subdivided out of "String Instruments" and into some sort of category, but I'm totally open to the name. The four articles currently listed mainly mentioned the one-string aspect, but I can see how that's not necessarily a defining characteristic. We at least have those four grouped together now, so the only question is what to call the subcat and where to file it. I'm open to any ideas. MatthewVanitas (talk) 07:21, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. There will be some instruments which positively are in multiple subcats, or positively cannot go in a subcat, and I'm cool with either option. Since "Washtub bass" has at least four related articles, I think there will eventually be a mutually-agreeable name for a subcat for them.
Do you think we can get a quorum to make any sweeping decisions about how to sort out Musical Instruments, or has the project died down to just a few hardcore organizers?

Edit war on FSU Seminoles
thank you Badagnani for your interests in improving our article, however you are in an edit war on our page. WE in the Wiki Project Florida State University look after our pages and edit them with great care. We use the Discussion page to better our articles to avoid these conflicts. This is how the Bobby Bowden/Paterno issue was resolved. Thank you--UkrNole 485 (talk) 14:48, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yes thank you but right now its 3-1 in favor of the footnote idea. I think as well as Nolephin and UkrNole 485 that that is a fair trade.--68.35.201.31 (talk) 23:43, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- "Contrary to the NCAA’s statements, the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma is on record as unopposed to the use of the Seminole name. This past July, the Seminole Nation General Council, the legislative body for the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, resoundingly defeated a motion to denounce the use of Native American nicknames and images in sports and other events. The vote was 18-2."
- "On June 17, 2005, the Tribal Council of the Seminole Tribe of Florida voted unanimously in favor of a written resolution to reaffirm its ongoing support of the university’s use of its name and symbols. The significance of putting this resolution in writing is enhanced by the fact that traditionally the Seminole Tribe of Florida has not seen the need to commit these kinds of relationships or agreements to writing. Their word is their bond. During the presentation of that resolution to me at the Tribe’s Big Cypress Reservation, Tribal Council member Max Osceola said, “We have to respect each other’s views, and in the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s view, you honor us by using the name Seminole.""

Photos
Thanks for noticing. I'm having fun contacting people at Flickr and getting many photos released for use here. I've really unearthed some surprising photographs. I think there may be a Coltrane in the works...crosses fingers. Check out the new Taj Mahal (musician) photo at the opening. That thing is smoking hot. Anyway, thanks for contacting me. Keep up the good edits. (Mind meal (talk) 04:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC))
Yeah, I do tell them about how frequently visited we are. Most seem to already be aware of this. Wikipedia is really the #1 source for information people come to. Also, most are happy to have their photos so widely viewed. Every once in a while someone gets a bit prickly, but I have it set up where I provide all relevant info on licensing and such in my intro request so that they know the rationale for needing the required licenses. It is real fun actually. Take care. (Mind meal (talk) 04:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC))
I haven't found one of Blackwell, no. Some of the old school guys are hard to track down. However, I did find a woman with a lot of old school cats today that released a bunch; they are old and grainy, but they do the trick. These were folks like Red Holloway and Flip Phillips. Maybe I'll try finding one of Blackwell outside of Flickr. Get one under a GNU license. (Mind meal (talk) 04:52, 15 April 2008 (UTC))
Regarding the B&W photos, that might have been me uploading them. Perhaps you mean photographer Tom Marcello, who released several photographs in this vein: Sonny Stitt or Zoot Sims. Or, the cream of the crop: Charles Mingus. (Mind meal (talk) 04:58, 15 April 2008 (UTC))
Yeah, that was me. He claims to not be a professional photographer, but I disagree. His photos are unreal. That one of Mingus is now one of my favorite photos of a jazzman ever. (Mind meal (talk) 05:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC))

Custard-apple
The discussion has already been had. For over a year now, it has been WP:PLANTS policy to distinguish between plant taxon and plant product, and to have separate articles for each. I don't think it is necessary to duplicate the discussion over and over again for every vegetable this applies to.
Please be so kind as to explain to me what is so illogical about distinguishing between a fruit and the plant that it grows on. They are, after all, completely different concepts.
Hesperian 05:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm am not sure if our messages crossed or what. It has most certainly been discussed. Hang on a sec and I'll dig up some links. Hesperian 05:45, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

- Point 2 of Wikipedia:WikiProject Plants#Plant article naming conventions
- And the same text, duplicated at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (flora)
- But of course, you're well aware for this convention.[6]
- So, now that I have provided evidence that there is broad consensus to keep these distinct concepts as distinct articles, I think the most appropriate way to proceed is for you to revert your reversion of my split, and then start a discussion on whether we should make an exception for this article.

Celery
And celery too?
I clearly have the weight of published convention, and the agreement of WP:PLANTS, behind me.
Why don't you step aside until you've figured out whether your actions represent the opinion of more than just yourself.
Hesperian 06:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's the standard and it works well, preventing any confusion. Says Badagnani. I've just shown you that the standard is to split these articles. Does the view of Badagnani trump consensus? Does Badagnani get to stonewall, pending a discussion that has already been had, just because Badagnani disagrees with consensus? Hesperian 06:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd love to see you over at Wikipedia:Five pillars arguing there's no consensus for any this so-called "policy", amongst "editors specializing in celery-related topics."[7]
- What is the point of establishing consensus on how to handle a general situation if that consensus counts for nothing in specific cases; if the conversation has to be had again and again and again every time someone wishes to apply it to a specific case. I think the reality is you don't like the consensus, so you've decided to pretend it doesn't exist.
- Hesperian 06:28, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
A predictable response. You don't like the consensus, so you'll declare it not well thought out. Never mind the fact that I've pointed you at two weeks of discussion totally 60kB. Never mind that fact that the convention has been in place for 18 months, and working nicely. The consensus can't possibly be right, because then Badagnani would be wrong. Heaven forfend!
What this boils down to, is you don't like the consensus so you refuse to let it be applied.
Hesperian 06:59, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Warning
Bagadani, as the above editor has pointed out, there is clear consensus to split these articles. I suggest that you revert your changes as requested. I hope the issue is resolved and work can continue to be done
Please be considerate of the consensus of the pages, users feel threatened when someone enters and edits the hard work already placed. Also your personal beliefs on the Native American mascot issue has allowed you the skew a POV to that side just as you feel "we have love for our school". It would be best in the future to discuss changes to be made to gain such consensus. You are an editing machine and i dont ask you to stop just be considerate.--UkrNole 485 (talk) 12:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Blocked users
Blocked users, IPs or accounts, can still edit their own userspace in order that they may make an appeal with the unblock template if they want to. What Jacques was doing was editing the template to make it look like he had unblocked himself. He hadn't edited anywhere else than his talk page, though (my rollback on Vietnamese tiền was undoing an old edit of his that was missed originally). If enough of that kind of nonsense goes on, an admin will eventually protect the page so the unblock template (which shows up other places once added) will not be abused. The talk page in question has since been so protected. Cheers! --Bradeos Graphon Βραδέως Γράφων (talk) 13:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Could you please review WP:EL and discuss on Talk before adding external links to this page? Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 18:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
- Mamenchi was confirmed by CheckUser as a sock of JacquesNguyen. I did notice the similarities between Jacques and Doremon's editing, but for now...CheckUser has exonerated him. Boldface electric bass
Re: "The term "electric bass" is presented as an alternate name in the very first sentence of this article. Should we put in bold or italics (or a different color) to make it stand out even more?":
I think the answer should depend entirely on Wikipedia protocol. If Wikipedia articles customarily do this, we should; if they don't, we shouldn't--and I'm not sure if they do (well, I'm pretty sure they don't do the color).
The reason I'm addressing this question here rather than in the bass guitar article, though, is that I very much doubt boldface or italics or color--or neon lights, for that matter--will do any good. Despite what I and Grove said about bass and electric bass being abbreviations for bass guitar and electric bass guitar, it seems clear that there is a sizable contingent of players who are effectively using these terms as euphemisms. Why euphemisms should be felt necessary I don't quite grasp, but it may have something to do with perceived prejudices about the guitar (that it's supposedly easy to play and so on). I don't know what the cure for instrumental low self-esteem might be, but it's hard for me to imagine Wikipedia could (or should) disperse it.

Four Gentlemen
I took the original seasonal assignments from Japanese Wikipedia [8]:
- 春は蘭、夏は竹、秋は菊、冬は梅と、四季を通じての題材となる
I couldn't find much at all on the Internet to support this. This Chinese site [9] does give:
- 春兰、夏竹、秋菊、冬梅是国人心目中的四君子
While the above is not conclusive, I'd like to see some decent evidence before the article is changed.

Work on Eastern Bagpipes
Thanks for the help on getting the bagpipe section cleaned up! Had a couple quick issues: -Italics: What's the justification for italicizing the Arabic script equivalents? The purpose of the italics in the Latin script is to denote a foreign word, and the Arabic terms are already clearly foreign words. The italics also makes the words that much harder to read, so it seems counter-productive. -Arabic terms: The lettering you found for Ghaita looks good, but the term for Jirba seems odd. It's really hard to read that font, especially italicized, but the first letter looks like an "f" or a "q", and I can't tell if the third letter is a "y" or a "b". It could well be that the actual spelling is far from the Gulf Arabic pronunciation, but are you quite sure about the spelling? -Ghaita/Raita: I know the current Wiki article lists it as an oboe or hornpipe, but I keep running across references mentioning the ghaita as a bagpipe. Is this a confusion with the mizwad, people calling a circular-breathed oboe a bagpipe, or is there a variant of the ghaita which includes a bag? MatthewVanitas (talk) 12:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Dog meat is usually eaten as tang not as jeongol. The clumsy food in the picture is jeongo that should be inserted to here? I don think so. That is also no text info. I sense that why you created this article and request yukgaejang article to be made because they're somewhat related to dog meat. You know that I'm the one who creates Korean related articles in these days, so your unhelpful hidden message on the article is just annoying. Melonbarmonster's previous comment on your POV is so right. That is how Westerners conviniently call the food in their language. Tteok can be made with barely powder, buckwheat, white wheat or potato flour. New Project
Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:38, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

main page
Don't know if you saw this and this - the main page for 5/4/08 omitted mention of Kent State, apparently because of the ref tag in the May 4 section. I had objected last year to the wording that appeared and again this year to proposed wording that read "1970 – The Ohio National Guard shot at students in Kent State University protesting the United States invasion of Cambodia", as I think to say they "shot at students" is a serious understatement. But we won't get any wording in unless we can remove the tag. So - I think we need to do some work on that section and improve the references. I'm writing to you, because I had the impression that you have access to the archives. I'm also not clear on when that tag was added or if the section refs have improved since it was added - I'll take a look at that. As I'm sure you agree, it is important for this event to be remembered. I was surprised yesterday to see Fox News mention it, and I must say, they did so in a non-partisan and fair way, at least in the report I saw. All best Tvoz/talk 04:50, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, neither am I sure what needs to be added, but apparently someone thought that references needed improving. I guess we need to add citations for the basic facts. I'll see what I can cull from the Eszterhas book "Thirteen Seconds", but I htought the archives might be a good source for citations. Tvoz/talk 05:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

It is well known that all chemical articles will or should have a chemical structure. So adding tags requesting structures accomplishes nothing. Its great to see that you care about this need, but your obvious skills might be better spent on projects related to adding content to these articles, vs simply asking for images, some of which are non-trivial. --Smokefoot (talk) 13:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Alan Hovhaness.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Alan Hovhaness.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
The following images also have this problem:

Double bass
Hi Badagnani, I wanted to say I am pleased that the double bass article seems to be fairly stable, and that we have managed to suppress repeated efforts to put "bull fiddle" into the lede. One area of the article that is weak is the long list of composers of bass repertoire. I think that we should either develop it (by converting the list to prose, and fleshing out each composer with the dates they were active, the style they write in, the types of pieces they write, and putting it in a chronological order). Failing that, I think we might want to just relocate the list into a separate list article. One of my concerns with having a long list in the article is that these lists are a great way for BadFaith editors to sneak in nonsense or POV stuff, which hurts the credibility of the article. To make my point, I bet you that if I added in a minor 1950s composer who never penned a single double bass work, it would stay there for years. By converting it to prose, it "raises the bar", and makes it harder for people to add nonsense. I have fact-checked similar lists and found that people have added all sorts of random stuff, ranging from seeming self-promotion of non-notable people to straight-out vandalism-style nonsense....................................By the way, here is the list:Other composers to have written solo works for the double bass in the 20th and 21st centuries include Reinhold Glière, Paul Hindemith, Luciano Berio, Christian Wolff, Fernando Grillo, Sofia Gubaidulina, Jacob Druckman, Iannis Xenakis, Elliott Carter, Salvatore Sciarrino, Vincent Persichetti, Mario Davidovsky, Samuel Adler, Bright Sheng, Oliver Knussen, Giacinto Scelsi, Charles Wuorinen, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Lowell Liebermann, Georges Aperghis, Ana Maria Avram, Philippe Boivin, Aldo Brizzi, Gualtiero Dazzi, James Giroudon, Ramon Gonzalez Arroyo, Karim Haddad, Pierre-Alain Jaffrenou, Pierre Jodlowski, Michael Levinas, Martin Matalon, Horatio Radulescu, Kaija Saariaho, Sylvano Bussotti, James Dillon, Pascal Dusapin, Brian Ferneyhough, Philip Glass, Bruno Maderna, Philippe Boivin, John Cage, Tom Johnson, and Franco Donatoni.OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 04:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, I agree...it would be good to consider a separate list article similar to your oboe repertoire article. ThanksOnBeyondZebrax (talk) 04:54, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Kappagammapsi.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kappagammapsi.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mister Senseless™ (Speak - Contributions) 21:40, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Category:Image request templates
Hi Badagnani. Template:Reqimage has been depreciated for the last two years. For Talk:Fantasy on Japanese Woodprints, Op. 211 and Talk:Jins, please consider using a different graphics request template from Category:Image request templates. For example, {{Reqdiagram}} can be used for diagrams and {{Reqequation}} would seem to work for score fragments. {{reqimageother}} is used for a graphics request that is not a map, a diagram, or a photograph. Original researches
You're defending for original researches and unofficial name of the tteok by an editor with no source. Besides, as I wrote it at edit summary, huitteok is garaetteok. Even more popular and culturally important tteok articles are not made yet. Huin means "white", nothing else. What is your reason to urge to make such article with the unofficial name? So if you can't search and create an article by yourself, why don't you ask somebody knowledgeable of Korean food first.--Appletrees (talk) 17:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Can you even don't read "tteok"? Why did you insist on putting it? Tteok is NOT NOODLES!!!!!!!--Appletrees (talk) 17:18, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Are you retaliating?
Listen, what are you thinking? You too know well that I'm not a native speaker of English, then what did you do on doljanchi article? If you found that simple grammatical error, you could've fix it by yourself, but you left the weird hidden mark on the article. Besides as you already saw the two lists of museums in South Korea are marked "incomplete". The lists miss about 200 more museums to be added on the list. Did you even see the museum template by city, province and institution. Your behaviors obviously appear to some sort of childish retaliation. I sincerely suggest you to learn Korean because that can you find desirable sources by yourself not introducing false and original researches to Korean related articles. --Appletrees (talk) 17:48, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- That is not my last question, That is the concern about museum lists. Whenever I find something dubious or illegible from articles here, I usually search sources by myself and fix it or ask the editor who introduced information. You know too well that I wrote the article and tend to feel very irritated by your hidden remarks, but you always choose to do so. That behavior is ntentional, and not good faith. Before concerning my tone, you should not repeat your past errors again and again. And stick to reliable sources. If you can't, please let articles others with reliable source edit. --Appletrees (talk) 17:59, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on heavy metal fashion. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.

- Stop! Cease! Desist! Do you speak English? Do you want to be reported!? You won't respond to my warnings or comments it seems. I was already warned by another user who realized their mistake, apologized and struck out their warning. I am deleting OR that I said I would delete on the talk pages of those pages a long time ago. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:17, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm gonna ask you once nicely. Revert yourself immediately on both of those pages, or be reported. You have violated WP:3RR and will be blocked if I report you. However, if you revert yourself I won't report you. Do so NOW. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:20, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- I know you can talk, damnit. You just left a comment on a user's talk page. I demand you respond at once and explain your edits. I have already reported you to an administrator. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:30, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
And you must be joking. My user page is not the issue here and is of little importance. It contains a minor amount of profanity. The reason the editor apologized with me is because I explained the situation to them on their talk page. Give me a break? You think people are scared of me? Oh no, he might threaten you...over the internet. The user struck out their comment because they saw I was only deleting original research. And let's cut the crap. Now you're trying to talk to me all respectable (which if fine) but it's a bit late. I'm not the "bad" person here. You violated WP:3RR. I could have reported you to WP:AN/3 which would have assured a block. However, I reported you to an admin (you may still be blocked, though). I did not "massively blank" anything. I deleted original research, pure and simple. You are also in violation of WP:POV. You think that its, "basic information about heavy metal fashion and fans," but that's your opinion. My opinion happens to be that those pages are full of wrong information. I've been slowly deleting things out of them for months. Now I don't think you're a bad editor (you have a ton of edits under your belt and that has to count for something) but I'm asking you to please revert yourself on those pages. I will retract my report to the admin if you do so. Those pages need to comprehesnively be rewritten with reliable sources. All that junk in there now is false or unverifiable. Don't let yourself be blocked. Revert yourself now on both of those pages. Other people (incl. yourself if you want) can work on it (using reliable sources) and rebuild it as a better article. Right now you're violating a few things, though. I would revert you (as I am in the right) but I won't violate WP:3RR. I would have to wait till at least tomorrow. But in the end I would win out anyways. So I guess you can do this the easy way and revert yourself and avoid troubel...or the hard way, in which you may be blocked and the article will be reverted to my version anyways. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:52, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, then. Be blocked. I told you already, you are in violation of many wikipedia policies right now. I already said my user page does not matter and is of little importance to you. It is non-threatening and is intended to be humorous. But it's also my user page. I had to deleted the one or two sentences that were sourced because they were supporting arguments that were not sourced. Capital letters? Give me a break. Don't get "stuck-up" with me now. You don't seem to realize what you are saying. "blanking of basic information does not assist our users in learning more about these topics," goes directly against wikipedia policy. Per WP:V which you dearly need to read. Information must be verified and reliabely sourced. We cannot allow users to read misinformation. If that is your attitude then you should not be on wikipedia. We cannot allow users to view "basic information" if that info is not sourced and is OR. Not to mention perhaps false. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 20:06, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Request reason:
Was reverting massive blanking of text that did include sources; blanking editor consistently used profanity, all caps, and abusive language, leading me to believe that the blanking was not done in good faith; I did not revert more than three times in a 24-hour period
Decline reason:
Neither of you were behaving particularly well over that exchange. In the future, solve disputes by engaging outside help; try WP:3O or WP:RFC. If you are in the right, uninvolved editors will back you up. — Jayron32.talk.contribs 02:32, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Question
You said you're a vegetarian, so I guess you have not had all of representative Korean dishes made with meat, chicken such as galbi and bulgogi. But if you're strict vegan, you can not even eat seafood/ egg/ any byproducts from cattle. That means you could not eat Korean soup/stews or other noodle dishes made with beef, chicken, anchovy, clam, fish broth. You might've never tasted samgyetang, seolleongtang, maeuntang, even naengmyeon (made with beef broth), or kalguksu. Of course, Korean cuisine includes many vegetarian dishes such as sachal eumsik (Buddhist cuisine) or namul, but why do you edit Korean cuisine article????? In Korean wikipedia, I have edited many foreign foods which I am very interested in or intend to eat in the future. I partially agree with the anon at Talk:Korean noodles. --Appletrees (talk) 19:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to ask you about the one single question on your diet, but absolutely did not intend to imply or convey whether you're unqualified in editing Korean cuisine or not. I have to say, you totally misunderstood and read my question from very bad faith. You're being very sensitive and your response is more like a personal attack to me. To correct, I have not asked you any single personal question about you except the one case here. You've rather inquisitively asked about my personal information a lot such as shiitake, hotteok, and countless occasions) which I would not want to reveal myself. I felt unpleasant about your inquiries, so hurried to archive my talk page but did not let you know of that. Maybe that is the big difference between you and me, and I'm very upset at your unexpected overreaction again and regret to question about the thing. You asked me yesterday about the category and taste of yukgaejang, and you did not try it due to your daily diet and perference, so I just have a little curiosity before I intended to build a rough frame of Korean soup, stews articles. I'm not good at writing articles in English, so I needed your help to sort out dishes even uncategorized in Korean websites because broth types and thickness of the dishes are key to categorize. I'm not interested in you at all but your edits on Korean cuisine here. Don't worry, I would not talk you again from now on. If you felt unpleasant of my mentioning of the anon's question toward you, that is because his/her correctness on your light seaweed broth. --Appletrees (talk) 20:12, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- My comment of Why do you edit Korean cuisine articles???? is not equivalent to why do you insist in editing which you falsely accuse of. Please don't lie--Appletrees (talk) 20:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Please explain...

You still seem to not have learned about WP:V, Heavy metal fashion is fine now, though it still needs a lot of editing but metalhead has much information that is unverifiable. Also, why did you lie about me in your block?? You said i used, "profanity, all caps, and abusive language"consistently, which is a lie. I used all caps a few times (which does not break any rules and is really not that big of a deal, pointing it out just makes you stuck-up), but even then I did it only a couple times on a few words. You need to learn more about wikipedia policy. And I seriously suggest you read WP:V. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 21:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, after complaints on Commons, I had to add a user verification system to CommonsHelper and flickr2commons, two tools of mine that are used in FIST to transfer images from Wikipedias and Flickr to Commons. I didn't have time to add a "central login" to FIST yet; tonight, hopefully. For the user verification, go here. Regina Spektor article lead -- we need to fix this.
Hi there. As you aware aware, the article's initial mention of her Jewishness and Russian Americanness :) has come into question on formal proper Wikipedia article structure grounds.
Please take a look at the flagging admin's rationale made explicit on my talk page, here: User talk:Mareklug#Regina Spektor. Optionally, you may take a look at what I wrote back on his talk page.
Clearly, we need to expand and source the questioned info in the lead, as deleting it would be a poor alternative in this case, as you seem to agree. If you have an immediate solution, with an appropriate source, please expand the lead accordingl, complete with a proper citation in superscript via <ref></ref> tags with a {{cite web}}
embedded, or whatever is appropriate. If you cannot, do let me know, and I guess we'll think about how to do it, and keep looking for the right source. Best, --Mareklug talk 19:21, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I grasp the pertinence of your reply (?). Did we write to one another at the same time, or did you perhaps mean to write what you wrote on my talk page -- on the flagging admin's talk page? At any rate, you are not addressing the issue, while I am perfectly aware what Jewish Russianness means, thank you. --Mareklug talk 19:27, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Damn! Please read more carefully. I am not the one questioning the lead; I am merely trying to enlist your help in bringing it up to standard, as it has been questioned by an admin. This admin wrote extensively about the problem on my talk page, and both you and I reverted his removal of Regina's ethnicity from the lead. But if it will stay, it will need to be contexutalized and sourced.
Do read what he wrote, above your writing on my talk page, per the link above. And fix the article or tell me that you are unable to. --Mareklug talk 19:37, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
YOU NEVER DISCUSSED IT WITH ME, PERIOD. YOUR ENTRIES ON MY TALK PAGE ARE ALL IRRELEVENT AND DON'T ADDRESS THE ISSUE I RAISED, AFTER IT WAS RAISED BY AN ADMINISTRATOR.
CONSEQUENTLY, I WILL PERSONALLY REMOVE THE UNSOURCED INFORMATION FROM THE LEAD, AS IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT NOT WILLING TO FACE THE PROBLEM. PERHAPS WRITING TO YOU IN ALL CAPS WILL HELP YOUR READING COMPREHENSION. --Mareklug talk 21:27, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- My status as an admin' isn't pertinent to my position on this issue and we should remain civil. This is an insignifcant issue that should not cause discord.
- Badagnani, it would be appreciated if you could improve the lead and contextualise the presence of her heritage in the lead to rationalise its retention. Otherwise, in its current state, it does not merit such prominence. Regards, SoLando (Talk) 22:19, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Any demonstration of significance in the main body is irrelevant when there remains no assertion of significance to the subject and relevance to the lead in the introduction . Please review my comments here. SoLando (Talk) 22:24, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of David Van Vactor
A tag has been placed on David Van Vactor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Thavil article
Greetings, I'd like to comment about your thavil article. Yes the body is made of jackfruit wood. The finger caps are nowadays made from cloth hardened with cement or/and synthetic resin. The thavil is hung by a *cloth* strap from the shoulder of the player as you can see on your thavil picture (it is called nadai). The thavil is not tuned, it is only tightened before performances. The leather straps to tight the instrument aren't used nowadays, everyone is using the bolt system. This make you thavil right picture outdated. "rope tuned with dowels and hammer" probably applies to other instruments. They are no ropes and no dowels in thavil.

Hi there
Thanks for your interest in these articles.
I redirected zinc ricinoleate to the parent acid because I can't find many reliable sources online talking about this particular compound. I did, however, include a line about the uses of this compound. This has been the approach I have taken for a while - redirecting relatively obscure anions to the parent acid. One of the things I would like to avoid would be the mess of unexpandable sodium citrate stubs - for the mono, di, trisodium salts.
While one can hope, I don't believe this article will be written any time soon. Same goes for copper salicylate, which appears to be a compound of poorly defined stoichiometry [12]. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 17:11, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Do you know if there is anything about "粿", the Chinese rice-based steamed "cakes", in wiki? The closest I can find to it is Chai tow kway. You can get a good idea of what one type of kway look like by google image search of 紅龜粿 Sjschen (talk) 19:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

True. I'm thinking of an articles for all types of kuehs, just like there is a pie article for general descriptions on all kinds of pies. Sjschen (talk) 14:58, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi. You recently reverted two of my edits to this article without explanation. Could you please explain, either here or on the talk page, what this article has to do with the Hawaii WikiProject, and why you added a "from Hawaii" category when this person is not from the state? Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 03:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- By way of explanation, I went to the article and found that, despite this person being from Maui, there was no cat reflecting this, so I added it. I was unaware that this was a revert; I do make it a practice to add a "People from X" category for all biographical articles, adding the cat for the place where the person lives. Similarly, I found that this person, who lives in Maui, had been removed from the Hawaii project, and simply went ahead and re-added him, as he does have a home there and is a Mauian. It's fairly straightforward. Badagnani (talk) 03:44, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The person is not from Maui, and the article has nothing to do with Hawaii. The project and categories that we use concern articles that the project is working on improving and categorizing articles directly related to people from the state. As a member of this project, I can tell you that we are not working on it and that it doesn't belong in the category. Because it is tagged, it also appears on our project watchlist, which we are trimming as we reassess articles. I reassessed this article and found that it is outside of the scope of WPHawaii. You are, of course, free to bring this up on the project page. Viriditas (talk) 03:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- The New York Times states that the individual is from Maui. However much you may wish, or hope, that he is not, which your repeated messages this effect indicate, the New York Times is a reputable source in this case, and thus, the removal of the category "People from Maui" from this individual's article was improper. Badagnani (talk) 04:56, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- There appears to be some kind of language barrier here, so I'll keep my language simple. Mr. David Lewiston is from the UK, not Hawaii, and there is no reliable source that states otherwise. Viriditas (talk) 05:04, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

As I've stated, now more than once, there's no confusion nor language barrier. The description of the category "People from Maui" is quite clear: “ The following individuals were born on, have been residents of, or have been otherwise closely connected to the Hawaiian island of Maui, which constitutes Maui County, Hawaii ”.
If we can trust The New York Times on this (I believe we can), this individual is a resident of this island, and is thus "from" there. It would seriously twist the English language to claim that only individuals born in a place are truly "from" that place. As I stated earlier, if you choose to disbelieve The New York Times, that is fine, but please do not insist on removing quite accurate categories that are properly sourced, on such a hope or wish. Badagnani (talk) 05:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Mr. Lewiston is neither "from" Maui, nor does The New York Times or any other RS say he is "from" Hawaii. The category criteria that you refer to is subject to your interpretation. That category only has four members, two of which are directly connected to the culture of Hawaii and two of which are not. A third, a Mr. Dunn, apparently died on Maui and is not tagged by the project. A fourth, the one you added, does not seem to have been covered by any Hawaii media and does not seem to have had any role in Hawaii. Therefore, there is nothing the project can do to improve and expand this article, and as such, it should be removed. Lastly the criteria needs to be interpreted by people who understand the topic, and if necessary, restricted to preserve accuracy, which in this case is entirely absent. We have many people tagged by the project who are from Maui, yet are not members of this category. Lewiston is from the UK and has not, to the best of my knowledge, had any impact or influence in Hawaii. Unless local sources are provided, demonstrating his relation to Hawaii and her culture, I see no reason for this category to contain him or for the project tag to remain on the page. Viriditas (talk) 06:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- BTW, I forgot to thank you for trying to populate the category. If you have any interest in Hawaiian music, please consider joining WP:HAWAII and helping us out. Viriditas (talk) 12:10, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi. I see you have reverted my edit. Please understand that there are hundreds of articles similar to this one. At the moment they are at the moment under the scope of the Classical Music project and not Opera. Are you intending to take this matter up with the projects concerned? This would be fine by me. You can start the necessary discussions and arrange for the categorization of 'Opera conductors' en masse. However I would appreciate it if you didn't just revert odd, single pages in haphazard way because it is confusing for everybody. Thanks for your understanding. --Kleinzach 09:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Poor undiscussed edits?
You have a loss of long-term memory, first off we discussed these edits months ago when I stated I was getting these well researched secondary sources. Second, how are they poor edits? The edits were made utilizing texts written by authorities on Korean culture, unlike the sources that were used originally from web sources. Wikipedia looks to use proper published web sources, not tertiary web sources that are written by propagandists as many of the sources are/were for this section, yet again as we discussed months ago and it seemed everyone agreed to.--Chef Tanner (talk) 05:26, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Retaliation?
Cute attempt to make me look like I was vandalizing the article. Unfortunately, I have only made good faith edits that attempted to rectify your violation of the rules of Wikipedia. no information was removed by me from the article and I am not the only one who removed your comments.
So again:
- do not insert in-line commentary into articles
- all comments are to be addressed on the talk page
If you truly believe that putting those patently false warnings on my talk page and the claims of blanking in your edit summaries will somehow make you look any better, I think you have another thing coming.
You can delete my warnings and admonishments to your heart's content, however the record of your abuse towards Wikipedia and other contributors lives on forever in the summaries and histories of your talk page and the articles that you "contribute" to. It will not remove the report I filed against you and any possible sanctions that are meted out.

- Comment - All reverts were reversing straightforward blanking, which comprises WP:VANDALISM. There is no proscription against the insertion of targeted, good-faith editing comments which ask for clarification for specific sentences in the article, and such WP:POINT blanking of another editor's text is impermissible at our project. Censure should take place against User:Jerem43 for such repeated, edit-war-like, WP:POINTy blanking. Badagnani (talk) 20:46, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Badagnani (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
For several reasons: First, all three reverts were reversing straightforward blanking, which comprises WP:VANDALISM. The edits were not the same, and the editor who insisted on blanking the editing comments initiated the edit warring. Second, blocking editor has a history of antagonistic relationship with me vis-a-vis earlier solicitations ( http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AScarian&diff=213810092&oldid=213799105 ) by User:Navnløs on heavy metal-related articles, who had asked that editor to block me after I had similarly reverted massive, non-consensus blanking at such articles. We do have a rule that exceeding 3RR is not an offense when combating simple vandalism (i.e. massive, non-consensus blanking). User:Scarian most likely has had a vendetta against me ever since by watchlisting my talk page, which comprises wikistalking.
Decline reason:
You raise four points: 1) The edits you reverted were not blanking, they were deletions of comments you added to the article and are not covered by the exception for simple vandalism. 2) Another editor's misconduct does not excuse your own. 3) Earlier contact with Scarian does not in and of itself make the block unjustified. 4) You were blocked for edit warring, not 3RR, but the reverts do not need to be identical, just substantially the same. — Selket Talk 22:20, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- A few of points: 1) A notice was filed at WP:3RRN. 2) User:Navnlos also submitted a report which I acted upon, you were unblocked anyway. 3) Wikistalking does not include having someones talk page watchlisted (Which I haven't anyway) :-) ScarianCall me Pat! 23:21, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Changes of my discussion page posting
Please reverse this edit of my talk page comments by User:Jerem43, which changed two properly spelled words to improperly spelled words. Badagnani (talk) 21:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
The editor who, apparently in bad faith, changed the spelling of my comments at Talk:Korean cuisine, now says the following:
“ | I also would ask that this editor, who has a history of disruption on this article, be banned from editing it in the future. This is not his first incident of a 3R violation resulting in a block on his account; he has a history of edit warring on other articles as well that did not result in a block. He was one of the primary editors in a major edit war last year that ended up with the Korean cuisine article being completely locked down for a month. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 21:04, 11 June 2008 (UTC) | ” |
Any "edit warring" at Korean cuisine on my part comprised perfectly permissible reversion of massive, non-consensus blanking from the Korean cuisine article by User:Melonbarmonster (which itself comprised simple vandalism), never violating 3RR. This request lacks credibility or good faith. Badagnani (talk) 21:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, correction of spelling and grammar of comments is not a bad faith edit. Also, I was referring to your other five previous 3R violation blocks (read here), not anything related to the Korean Cuisine article. However, whatever your reasoning, you were one people involved in the edit war and one of the primary instigators in case that caused me to initiate the ANI discussion. Your behaviors again caused me to seek this block because your intransigent position in regards to not posting your issues on the talk page, violating the rules of Wikipedia and your attempts to make your violations as perfectly allowable.
- Also:
“ | When a long comment has formatting errors, rendering it difficult to read. In this case, restrict the edits to formatting changes only and preserve the content as much as possible. Generally, page formatting can be fixed as well (i.e. to move a new comment from the top of a page to the bottom and adding a header to the comment). | ” |
- Spelling errors and incorrect choice of words constitute formatting errors. I corrected the spelling of your comment to make you look better. Improperly spelled words can subtly color others' opinion of you. I wished people to see what I perceive as your misanthropic ways based solely on their merit, or lack there of.
- I had thought you used the wrong word in this case:
- What you used: Cultivars - A race or variety of a plant that has been created or selected intentionally and maintained through cultivation.
- What I thought you should have used: Cultivators - One who cultivates
- That is my mistake, which does not mean it was in bad faith.

Re: Hui opera
Probably they are same. 徽戏 (Huī xì) literally means Huizhou's opera or Anhui's opera. You may read Chinese Wikipedia's article 徽劇. Some sources say there are subtle differences between 徽戏 (Huī xì) and 徽剧 (Huī jù). But most sources used the two terms interchangeably. --Neo-Jay (talk) 05:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Letter G
Hi Badagnani, The letter G has received quite a bit of attention at the Arabic Wikipedia. I would be happy to include a section on the different ways of transliterating the letter G into Arabic (some day). --Fjmustak (talk) 07:48, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree about including a section on additional letters. Before adding it, there are many considerations, however. As this article is about the Arabic alphabet in the broad sense (like Latin or Cyrillic), and not the alphabet of the Arabic language, it should include additional letters used in Arabic and other languages that use the Arabic script. Additional letters in Arabic are only used in transliteration, while in other languages such as Farsi or Urdu, they are part of the base alphabet. Arabic doesn't have p, v, or g. Farsi and Urdu have the letter p and g (v is the same as the Arabic waw و). Also, as pronunciation differs from country to country, transliteration differs. For example the letter jim ج corresponds to the letter j in most parts of the Arab World. In Egypt, however, it is pronounced like a g (as in golf). Therefore in Egypt, in order to transliterate something with a J, they use the letter ﭺ (with three dots underneath). Outside Egypt, the opposite is true: ﭺ is one way to transliterate the letter G. While in Iraq, ﭺ is used to write "ch" (like Persian). --Fjmustak (talk) 08:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Re: Mahmoud Guinia
I think adding both spellings is ok. It's good to have a spelling that returns Google hits, but at the same time, if that's how he writes his name, and there's a character for the letter ك with three dots, it's good to have it as well. I don't know as much about Maghrebi Arabic as I do Standard Arabic or Levantine Arabic. My point of view is based on the latter two. A person from the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, etc...) could provide better perspective on local transliteration and writing rules. --Fjmustak (talk) 08:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Re: Wind instruments
Again, I am not as much of an expert on localized versions of Arabic as I'd like. Especially those outside the Levant (and Palestine in particular). Even within Palestine, there are colloquial words that could mean something in one village, and a different thing in another... That said, I do not believe shalabiya (شلبية) and salamiya (سلامية) are etymologically related (judging by the sound of it alone, and not knowing what either of them is). Doing a quick search on شلبية, I haven't found anything related to a mizmar. The word shalabiya (شلبية) in colloquial Arabic means something like good-looking, If you did a search for shalabiya, the first few results come back for 'bint il shalabiya' (or some variation thereof), which is a famous song by the Labanese singer Fairuz meaning (the pretty girl). As for a dictionary with etymologies, I do not currently possess such a book. Almunjid is a very good Arabic dictionary (which I do not have on me). It is especially difficult to find etymologies of colloquial words from different Arab or Arabic speaking regions. A collection of old lexicons can be found at http://lexicons.sakhr.com/ Common words can be found there. --Fjmustak (talk) 08:36, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Kawala
Hi Badagnani, It seems "kawala" is synonymous with the Egyptian "Abdullah Helmy". I always seem to get his name when searching for the instrument in English or in Arabic. Anyway, from the CD covers of Abdullah Helmy, http://cdbaby.com/cd/abdallahhelmey1 and http://cdbaby.com/cd/abdallahhelmey2, the Arabic text on the CD says "همسات ودموع الكوله" or "the whispers and tears of the kawala". Kawala is written as كوله or الكوله.
Therefore كوله or كولة is a more legitimate Arabic name for the kawala. I trust the CD cover more than the website I linked to.
Here are some YouTube videos of various musicians on the kawala (notice the Arabic in one of the comments on the first video says كاوالا). The others have كولا in the title.

--Fjmustak (talk) 09:34, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- كولا is the spelling for cola. Even so, different words could have the same spelling, even if they're pronounced differently. This is due to the "short vowels" that are usually not included, except sometimes for disambiguation (as well as in religious texts and educational material). If you notice on the first CD cover I linked to, the word is الكَوله with a fatHa (ـَ) or a short "a" above the kaf (كـ). Thus a person who does not know what the word means would be able to tell that it is pronounced something like "kawla", and not "kula". That said, I do not feel that the short vowels should be added to the Arabic names. As for كوله vs. كولة this is another Egyptian vs. non-Egyptian standard. Linguistically, كولة is more correct, but in Egyptian Arabic, Ha (ه) is sometimes (informally?) used instead of taa marbuta (ة). In any case, I have sent my cousin (who is a flutist [or a flautist], and has a strong interest in flute-like instruments) an email asking him if he knows the origin of the word, and the correct spelling, and also asked him for resources on less known instruments. I will share whatever he tells me. --Fjmustak (talk) 21:50, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- More on كولة vs كوله: The same CD cover that I mentioned, has it written as كولة on the side strip (using a more formal font). See http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/4199/untitledscanned03od0.jpg . I suggest removing كوله and keeping كولة. --Fjmustak (talk) 22:35, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

What are you doing?
I decided not to visit here due to your previous personal attacks on me, but what are you doing? It is too blatant that you have been following me for a long time. Yesterday is Liancourt Rocks and WP:ANI today? Due to your wiki-stalking, I do not even need an air conditioner in this hot summer. I had very many opportunities to report you to WP:ANI or WP:RFCC, but did not. - You shouldn't be. Though I am thankful Badagnani has not reverted my latest edits on the metalhead article (for which we warred over before) he has still shown a consistent streak of not following wikipedia policy (such as WP:V and WP:OR) and blatant lying. He also called some of my edits in the past "blanking," when I was removing original research. Oh and he also claimed I was profusely using profanity or something when I used the word "crap" once. Oh and he also complained to admins when he was blocked that I was using all caps, which I did ONCE (and its not even against rules or anything, just simple etiquette; and it was only on a single word so that does not even break etiquette). And then he said I was offensive or something, which I was not. I don't think I need to go on. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 16:32, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Vilac
A tag has been placed on Vilac requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ~~Meldshal42 (talk) 00:43, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Danchinese.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Danchinese.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
IP address funny business
Be aware that the IP address that you're doing some degree of battle with, on one of the Native American pages, is now claiming that I'm your sockpuppet. [13] Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 10:48, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Finger vibrato
Please join in the discussion at Talk:Finger vibrato#Naming proposal. At least some of the material you have now twice inserted to the finger vibrato article isn't actually about vibrato at all. Andrewa (talk) 17:39, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Need your help or comment
Looks like user:Ohconfucius thinks we are over-doing it for the food projects. He marked quite a few for deletions and merge. I do not agree with any of them. Please put up a comment here or here. I already asked him to stay away from WP:food articles if he has no interest. Benjwong (talk) 16:10, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I would like to take you up on what I felt to be your very sloppy revert of my edits. I fail to see how your edit summary is justified. I have now commented all my changes in the article's talk page. Would you be so kind as to tell me what I got wrong, what I improperly capitalised? Ohconfucius (talk) 03:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I was about to erase the tag but you edited it before me :)
Edit summary, again!
Hi Badagnani,
Please remember to use edit summaries. It really makes everyone's life a lot easier. --Slashme (talk) 06:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Tatsoi and Zha cai
The two are different mustards and their similarities in names likely come from names from different dialects. I thinks the only way to make them less ambiguous is by referring to their taxonomic name. Something like what is slowly being done within the bok choy article. Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to have those dessert articles tagged. If you could, please continue to have the owner of the bot hit any other articles categories that are unclassified.
On the other side, I wish to condemn you for making more work for me and the rest WPFood assessment squad. Pthft.
that second line was a joke.

About your edits at Nanyue
Could you please explain at Talk:Nanyue why you insist that Nanyue is part of the History of China series. I find such an idea extremely insulting. 122.105.146.201 (talk) 01:29, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the help
Hey, thanks for helping me sort the meat dishes into the new "dishes" categories. --Alynna (talk) 00:34, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Thank you again
Thanks for having the food articles tagged. It goes a long way to help the project.

I am having TinuCherian hit the main categories of food and beverages tomorrow. That will be a huge number of articles, I am guessing 3000-6000 more. --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 16:55, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

About Webster121's serial policy violations
Once again, user Webster121 has inserted his doctored versions of other people's maps into Nanyue. This time he has also resorted to sockpuppetry under the IP address 75.4.6.119. I have also discovered that an unusual number of edits at other Vietnam-related articles under the name of combating Sino-centrism have been coming from 75.3.x.x and 75.7.x.x. It seems that whenever the opportunity arises (such as whenever a debate occurs), he will do anything to make his point. Judging from his actions, he seems to censor anything in Vietnam related articles that obviously suugest Chinese influence.
I believe that it is time to report this user, who has already been blocked four times for 'edit warring'. Thanks for the heads-up about his mischievous edits. 122.109.98.117 (talk) 00:36, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
