DYK for Levobunolol
On 3 March 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Levobunolol, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the glaucoma medication levobunolol is more than 60 times as active as its mirror image? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Levobunolol. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Levobunolol), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Afatinib figure - C797S
Hi, Your figure "Afatinib covalently binds to cysteine number 797 of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) via a Michael addition (IC50 = 0.5 nM).[12]" is extremely interesting. My wife has NSCLC for 7 years, but has recently progressed on Tagrisso with C797S, retaining T790M.
Afatinib appears to offer a benefit in reacting with C797S, however short lived.
Could you provide a reference for the Afatinib / C797S interaction ? [I am trying to get Schubert-Zsilavecz, M, Wurglics, M, Neue Arzneimittel Frühjahr 2013.]
Many thanks for any help you can provide,
Alex Gouch alex.gouch@australwright.com.au Sydney, Australia

- Hi! Schubert-Zsilavecz is a seminar script and unlikely to be found on the internet. I have found a description of this mechanism here. The C797S mutation means there is no cysteine at position 797 but a serine, so afatinib probably won't be able to bind. This looks like a source for this assumption. However, that's all preclinical data that won't tell you whether and for how long your wife may benefit from afatinib. Sorry I can't help you more. I wish you and your wife all the best, sincerely, --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 19:07, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
C797S
Many thanks for your very prompt answer.
I have emailed the two gentlemen for the paper and the latest state of play. Meanwhile, I found "https://www.jto.org/article/S1556-0864(19)30599-4/fulltext" which indicates the problem of treating C797S is unsolved.
And thanks for your good wishes - she'll plod on with less targeted methods.
Regards, Alex 110.20.235.197 (talk) 05:28, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Implicature
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Implicature you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Lingzhi2 -- Lingzhi2 (talk) 10:40, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
Note
Hey. I'm putting stuff on the GAN page that seems to be in the new version of Stanford but not the old. I'm dropping a note here so this important point won't get lost in the thicket of text: just because I put something on the GAN page doesn't mean you have to add it to the article. You just need to them it over and see if you think any has details worth adding. Cheers. ♦ Lingzhi2 (talk) 12:36, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have a PhD in Applied Linguistics, but I never edit in that area. [Currently reading up on Black Monday (1987)]. But if you ever need someone to do a little yeoman work, I'll help if I'm free. Cheers. ♦ Lingzhi2 (talk) 00:47, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Lingzhi2: Thanks a lot for the GA review and pass and also for your kind offer! Cheers --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 07:56, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

Removal of link
hello there, Hope this message greets you well. Thanks for letting me know. I placed the link because there were no links or page related to Vraylar medicine on Wikipedia. And this post had the mechanism of action and the I just went through the guidelines now. It says the external links can be linked in the reference section for further read if it has more information regarding the topic. And the post I linked has a detailed explanation on the mechanism of action, side effects, written by doctors. I thought this can be helpful. Do let me know if it is ok to add in the link to the post in the reference section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poseidon3211 (talk • contribs) 15:39, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Poseidon3211: Hi! healthcondition.org seems to be a private website; this does not meet the standard requited by medical articles on Wikipedia as far as I can tell. I have linked to the official drug information on drugs.com. Ideally, of course, the information would be in the Wikipedia article itself :-) See WP:MEDRS for how to identify reliable sources for medical articles. Hella/Totally isogloss
Hi! I added a suggestion to the "isogloss" page, which you edit regularly, so I though I'd ping you, and you can add it if you think it's appropriate. I love the article, and it's hella/totally true!
Xardox (talk) 02:51, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I have no expertise whatsoever about the hella/totally thing. Being Austrian, I totally say "irr" or "ur" ;-) --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 07:43, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited GS-441524, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ADK (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The true and forgotten discoverers of rapamycin.
My name is Gionei Gomes da Silva, and I am a Brazilian physician. All publications on the discovery of rapamycin forget that the real discoverers were the Brazilians. It was really Canada that motivated the Brazilian researchers to go to Rapa Nui Island. It is also true that the researcher Suren N. Sehgal was responsible for the discovery of the magnificent properties of rapamycin. However, if the Brazilians had not discovered it the world would not have known it! I never could identify the names of the Brazilians. Because the commemorative plaque placed on Rapa Nui Island, in 2000, by Wyeth, in honor of the Brazilian scientists, does not contain their names. I am trying to find out here in Brazil the names of these Brazilians. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2804:14D:7E90:330B:F193:561F:EF07:616C (talk) 12:14, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- If you can find reliable sources on the discovery of rapamycin/sirolimus, that would be really interesting to add to the article! --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 12:29, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
