I'm not sure what UK series you're referring to? I'm not seeing any.connection to the cross dressing show in the UK. That article looks to be sourced to IMDb. Seems we should get the article on the New Zealand television series up ASAP so readers can locate the right subject, a popular television series in its 3rd season that's even attracted the participation of the Prime Minister. Once it's up I'm sure it will be expanded and improved. Leaving things to languish in draft space doesn't help anyone. FloridaArmy (talk) 07:11, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- I've renamed it to Draft:Funny Girls (New Zealand TV series) but it needs to be beefed up a bit with more news sources and description. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 07:14, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

- Keep them coming. You can use New Zealand Listener for "Noted" and "The Listener" articles: [1] Also threenow profile [2] for external links unless you found another official website for the show. NZ Herald has a lot of articles like [3] [4] This article has some information on how the writers/producers construct the show: [5] Rose Matafeo awards [6] Funny Girls suffrage episode [7] AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:38, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, it definitely needs.to be expanded and disambiguated from the burlesque show venue. Cam you please move the entry to mainspace so people interested in the very notable subject can find it ans work on it? FloridaArmy (talk) 16:13, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

Great American Doll Company
Hello. Please tell me what I need to add to get this article published. Can you do it for me?Uncoveringcelebrityhistory (talk) 08:13, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
- Uncoveringcelebrityhistory, you need to find sources that are independent of the subject to write about the company. The verbiage about Lot 18 needs to be removed as it is copy-pasted from another website. The extensive list of doll offerings should be removed WP:NOTCATALOG. Awards appear to be non-notable as well and sourced by the website. Can you find news articles that post the awards results and reference that instead of the corporate website? about my article
sir i have posted a article on new era school of sciences chhatri (H.P). Its a high school located in himachal pradesh distt. kangra (H.P) we have a website too thenewera.org. please accept my article — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asheeshraina (talk • contribs) 18:37, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
Asheeshraina You need to rewrite the article in your own words, and not copy the website's wording. You also need to find news articles that cover your school in detail as well as government websites that list your school. The article should mention it is a high school and what grades it covers. Also, link to Wikipedia articles to show where your school is. I'm assuming it's in India somewhere. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:56, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
Reconsidering the Koffee with Karan episodes list
Hi,
I saw that you declined making this list its own article.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:List_of_Koffee_with_Karan_episodes
As the newest season of the show is starting today, I was just wondering if you could please reconsider making it its own article, or at least, if we could just move it back into the main article instead of making it it's own? If bad references are the problem, then why not use this one - there is a catalog of all the episodes on here, the official website: https://www.hotstar.com/tv/koffee-with-karan/s-74
The only reason I would still ask to keep a list, even when we have that site, is that because on the website you have to navigate all of them manually, which is tedious- if it were on a list it would be much easier.
I don't know if you are from India or not, but this particular talk show is not like others in the west which are a dime a dozen. This is one that is well-established and most people recognize it above almost all other talk shows, and people will tune into it from the star power alone. So for that reason it would be nice if we had the natural listing for episodes because people like to keep track of it. There are particular moments from specific shows that people remember, i.e. pairings and quizzes, etc., so it's not just like a generic talk show where you don't even remember who came on last week. Please reconsider or let us know how we can go about it. Thanks. Rush922 (talk) 07:48, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- Can you find other listings for the guest stars besides TVDB or TV.com? If the official website has a list you can cite that. Otherwise please cite the news articles that list the episode guest stars. It needs something to show that it is indeed more notable than the generic talk show in booking guests. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:46, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry it's been a while, but I was able to find some news articles that list the guest stars, at least for this particular season. I think this should show that it's more notable in booking guests, that most regular talk shows:

- Let me know if this is enough to allow the episode list to be its own article. Thanks.
- (As an aside, I have seen other talk show article lists that do use TvDB as a source. For example, check out the episode listing page for the Ellen show (very popular in the US, if you know about it) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ellen_DeGeneres_Show_(season_1) )

Koffee with Karan episode list revisited
Hi AngusWoof,
About a week ago you responded to my query above regarding making the Koffee with Karan episode list it's own article. You said that I would need more relevant sources than TvDB. A few days ago I responded and it looks like you were not notified or just didn't see it - I found a few news sources that might help make the case to let it be its own article. Since it was a bit long I'd rather not post all of it here, but instead I'll just post the link to the original query location above where I responded -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:AngusWOOF#Reconsidering_the_Koffee_with_Karan_episodes_list
If you could answer either there or here I'd appreciate it. Hopefully those sources are good enough. Thanks.Rush922 (talk) 08:38, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Rush922 my concern still stands in that you don't have any reliable sources for the list of guest stars. You're citing TVDB and TV.com which are user-submitted/generated databases. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 09:37, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Actually in the response to the original query I added 3 news sources for your consideration:
- https://www.ndtv.com/entertainment/koffee-with-karan-6-bhumi-pednekar-rajkummar-rao-join-guest-list-1937483
- https://in.style.yahoo.com/kapoor-siblings-sonam-kapoor-rhea-083200994.html
- These are all related to this latest season; I've found it very difficult to find lists as such for previous seasons. And I actually did not cite TVDB or TV.com myself. If you're referring to the article itself, I didn't create it- someone else did- I'd just like to see it reinstated is all.
- Although I must say, I have seen other talk show article lists that do use TvDB as a source. For example, check out the episode listing page for the Ellen show (very popular in the US, if you know about it) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ellen_DeGeneres_Show_(season_1) ). Not sure why that show is allowed to use TvDB, but this one is not?
- Rush922 (talk) 09:52, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- True. I have since found one other link, which refers to season 5: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tv/news/hindi/koffee-with-karan-season-5/updates/51379318.cms. I've actually thought of something else (and I've edited the sources in the article itself to reflect this): I must say, why can I not simply use the season pages from the original web page (Hotstar), that stores all the episodes online to be watched at any time, as a source? It is a direct and reliable source: it IS the company that originally aired it, it literally has a collection of each season, and the original air date of each episode is listed right on the videos themselves. Please see this (season 5) as an example: https://www.hotstar.com/tv/koffee-with-karan/s-74/seasons/season-5/ss-4109. Notice how on the thumbnail for each video is the episode name and original air date clearly marked. I see no reason why I cannot use each of the Hotstar Season pages as a direct source.
- If you are still arguing that it needs evidence of social relevance as per news articles, I have already given that proof in these few links, which I've added in the 'References' section of the article. It clearly shows that this talk show is being covered pretty heavily by even major Indian news outlets. If you need further proof that it has been relevantly covered since it's inception, I've found a few older archived articles: https://www.thestar.com.my/story/?file=/2006/1/2/tvnradio/12970463&sec=tvnradio, http://www.rediff.com/movies/2007/mar/22koffee.htm
- But practically, it would be near impossible for me to find lists of each season from all the way back to 2004. That's why I am arguing that the combination of these news articles, plus the Hotstar direct links, should be good enough to infer reliability. I think this is a time where the technicalities of resourcing ought to be given a little leeway for common sense.
- If for some reason you disagree, I would please ask to take the matter to either a third party or some higher delegation on Wikipedia if you could lead me to it, as I think I have a strong case. Thanks.
- (PS, I think you may have missed a point I made in an earlier answer: I must say, I have seen other talk show article lists that do use TvDB as a source. For example, check out the episode listing page for the Ellen show (very popular in the US, if you know about it) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ellen_DeGeneres_Show_(season_1) ). - Right, I did just that a few minutes ago actually. I was confused since you had OK'd the Hotstar ones. But Rosguill had issue with a referenced Twitter post, so I replaced it with a news article saying basically the same thing. I wrote on his/her talk page and clarified it, and removed the tag so it should be good. Rosguill seems okay with it for now.Rush922 (talk) 00:57, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Puminian Punthasee
Hi AngusWOOF,
I was assigned this professor as an assignment for my analytical chemistry lecture; my grade depends on this article getting published. What can I do to fix it, so that it is acceptable for publication? Also is there a way we could spin the article to make him notable for his teaching?
Thanks in Advance,
Allyson10500
- Is he tenured? Then you can argue that he meets WP:NACADEMIC #5 "5. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon)." But I'm not sure about that. Maybe you can see if he meets WP:GNG Here's an article you could use [8] but that needs at least two outside references like that. Lumberjack is a student paper for Humboldt State so it's still connected to the school. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:03, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- I would also remove the student feedback scores and the exact names of classes he teaches. Those aren't really notable. But you need to find more sources that discuss him and his career if it stands a chance of being published. If you can choose another professor that meets #5 above that would be better. Good luck! AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:23, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Also you could try resubmitting and see if another editor might be more sympathetic to your case, after throwing in that columbia missourian article AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:28, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- I would have your instructor read WP:INSTRUCTORS and be amenable to considering a draft or sandbox of the article even if it doesn't get published. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:28, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Allyson10500, I also suggest cropping a picture to have just him in it for the infobox. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:19, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
My rejected wikipedia page.
Dear AngusWOOF, I am concerned about your decision to take my Wikipedia draft down. All it said was that it was a channel and it wasn't really supporting it. Also, there is a coca cola page that says it is a soda and no one has taken that down. Lolz I'z Iz weird (talk) 16:44, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Lolz I'z Iz weird
- Lolz I'z Iz weird, your user page says otherwise. "Lolz I'z Iz weird (Lol's-eyes-is-weird) is a creator and publisher on Wikipedia and part of the Youtube channel Yerkz Clan. He is a real person and definitely not a robot." (my emphasis) [9] AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:48, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Notifications for CSD
Hi! I see that you are doing great work picking up copyvio in drafts – that's so important, thank you! I also noticed that you've sometimes nominated a draft for deletion but not notified the creator – a recent example being Draft:Strategy Execution and User:Strategyex. I don't know what method you're using to add the speedy tag (I use Twinkle), but it doesn't seem to be doing the notifications for you. This is just to ask you try to remember to do them manually if the software isn't doing them automatically. Thank you so much, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:37, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Justlettersandnumbers I'm pondering if it's when I use AFCH and select copyvio CSD from there? I normally use Twinkle for straight up CSDs which should notify the user. Maybe I unchecked something? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:19, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I was wondering if it was to do with the AFC script, certainly. I don't think I've ever selected to tg for deletion form within the script (rightly or wrongly, if it's an outright copyvio, I don't bother to decline it, but just tag with G12). This might be worth bringing up for discussion with other editors, I think. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:59, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, will keep an eye out for when I try a CSD G12 from within AFCH and see what happens. I know it tags the article but not sure about notifying the author. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:02, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- {u|Justlettersandnumbers}} I just did a AFCH / CSD checkbox on Draft:DgFarm US and it didn't send the CSD notification, so I pasted in the subst:notify afterwards. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:53, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

DRAFT:Honest_Mum edits
Thank you for your great edits to DRAFT:Honest_Mum. I understand most of your edits and I learned a lot from them.
I think the mention of specific article titles was not cruft because the titles weren't meant to be notable in themselves, but rather to give the reader a more concrete idea more specifically of what the general statements about lifestyle, etc. really come down to. But I cut that section quite a bit anyway.
Thank you for helping me understand how things should be bolded, italicized, etc. The replacement of my section titles with more standard ones, in a more standard order, was a huge benefit.
I also think that there may be some gender bias creeping in when activities involving hundreds of thousands of WOMEN on a daily basis are considered not notable. Both Honest Mum and BritMum are big deals to a rather significant subculture in several countries, and the fact that a book published by a major publishing house has resulted from blog activities suggests that a feminine pursuit (blogging about female concerns) is surfacing in major media. I could list a bunch of page view statistics in the hundreds of thousands based on Google Analytics; does that indicate notability better than what is already there?
The most elusive element is NPOV. I thought I was there, but clearly not, so thank you again.
- See if you can find more news sources that aren't coming directly from Honest Mum or Brit Mum. We're trying to get the article to stand on WP:GNG and WP:ORGCRIT They should give an objective description of the blog site, even some criticism, and aren't press releases connected to the site, and not be passing mentions. If Honest Mum extends beyond UK you can find some news sources from those countries as well. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:21, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
- If there are some notable women's websites (ones with Wikipedia articles) that discuss Honest Mum, that would be helpful too. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:23, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Hey,
Sorry for bothering you, it is the first time when I'm trying to create a topic.
Yesterday I created a topic and sent it to a review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Lordmancer_2
You rejected it, I fixed the issue and sent it once again. And now I don't understand what is happening now. I see that you have removed one of my references. But what is now? Have you rejected it once again or is it still under review?
Could you explain me? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Anton — Preceding unsigned comment added by SittingOnTheSeat (talk • contribs) 12:44, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
- SittingOnTheSeat, basically you can't cite other Wikipedia articles as a reference as that would be WP:CIRCULAR. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:41, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, you wrote " Comment: See if you can find more reviewers that are on WP:VG/RS Pocket Gamer is one of them but it appears to be a very brief article. Need some in-depth ones. " But I also used a reference to Kotaku.com. It is the whole article dedicated to Lordmancer 2. Do you think that two reliable sources are not enough?
- Pocket Gamer doesn't go into depth on the game; it's only a passing mention. Kotaku is better. Can you find another one like Kotaku that is qualified under WP:VG/RS? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:52, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Draft: PEI-Genesis Submission on 11/1 by Snydej
Hi AngusWoof. I'm trying to clean up my submission that was rejected on 11/2 in terms of providing more reliable sources and by changing the tone of the article. I have changed a good bit and feel like it reads very similar to a company's page in the same industry called "Mouser Electronics" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouser_Electronics). They use a few citations from their website as well that was not rejected. Just looking for a little more guidance on if the tone of my article is better, and how many more sources deemed reliable it would take to be accepted. Thank you for your help. Snydej (talk) 14:53, 2 November 2018 (UTC) Snydej 11/2
- Snydej Can you find sources that aren't press releases? It needs to meet WP:ORGCRIT with secondary sources independent of the subject. Getting press releases from Amphenol or PEI itself is still connected to the subject. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:37, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
I didn’t say appearing in SI was her notability, that’s just one work she has done. But if that’s the barometer, she has been on the cover of a notable magazine. She has several reliable sources that have written articles on her, not just mere mentions in them.Trillfendi (talk) 16:08, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Dear AngusWOOF, you declined my article submission, however I disagree with your assessment. You indicate that my sources are not reliable, however BoardGameGeek is the most famous blog about board games and an authority in the field and it is listed as source of all board games and board game designers article on WikiPedia (it is in some cases the only source provided for this class of articles); AIAA is a peer-reviewed scientific journal and KU Leuven is a top European University. If you have any suggestion for me, I would really appreciate it in order to improve my article before re-submission. Article on Flying Theaters
Many thanks for your comments, Woof. For reference I copy it here: Comment: This reads more like a brochure. Need more formalized section headers. Need to connect descriptions to references. there are whole paragraphs that are unreferenced. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:23, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
I understand that I was too enthusiastic when I said that something is "a perfect fit for museums". I also understand that I need to connect descriptions to references more thoroughly. But what do you mean by "more formalized section headers"? Thanks for your help. Cheers, Andreas Entertainmentpro (talk) 10:02, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
- Entertainmentpro The header "One goal - different concepts" is more like a brochure header for advertising rather than something for an encyclopedia article. WikiProject Amusement Parks/Standards is very helpful - thx! One question: can an article in the Washington Post from November 2017, which is now behind a paywall be used as a reference? Entertainmentpro (talk) 08:15, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Paywall sources are okay to include (WP:PAYWALL). If it's an agency-based (e.g. Associated Press, Reuters) article, then other papers might have available for free. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:40, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Request on 14:20:30, 29 October 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by CarlySila
Hi AngusWOOF, thank you for taking the time to review my page! I tried structuring it based off of the other similar companies I found on Wikipedia, but I definitely understand needing more external resources. I am working on that now to help prove that this is a notable topic. Is there a recommended amount of external sources I should aim for?
Could you provide more insight into what is too "peacock-y"? I tried writing just the facts, but I might be too close to my writing to see that I strayed. Your feedback can help me improve on this and future pages I work on.
Thanks again,
CarlySila (talk) 14:20, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- CarlySila, any verbiage where it looks like it is bragging about the company's success, or sounding like it comes from their corporate brochures, and accomplishments should be neutralized. You can see WP:PEACOCK and WP:NOTMEMORIAL. I wouldn't open with "largest" in the lead sentence. I would remove "the late" and "the passing" for David Hillman. WP:EUPHEMISM The stuff about being one of six or the only one isn't needed unless you're trying to explain finalists and winners. They can see that from the award itself. If you can find more news articles that discuss Southern Management, that would be helpful too. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:42, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

stub tags
Please take care not to add {{stub}} to an article which already has a specific stub tag, as you did here.
And why do you think it needs more or better references? The two provided look reliable and seem to support the entire text of this stub.PamD 19:05, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- PamD, I was stubbing it from the Page Curation / New Pages Feed. Should it just be checkmarked as good then? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:51, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- PamD, if that's all that can be found about the subject, should it be marked as a WP:PERMASTUB then? It's a really flimsy dictionary definition of a notable person. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:00, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- It's a stub, but was already tagged as {{UK-artist-stub}}, so there's no point in adding {{stub}} which does nothing except to bring it to the attention of stub-sorters, whose time you will be wasting. She's notable, she has material in national collections. A stub needs expansion, by definition. Just accept this harmless article and move on to those which are damaging the encyclopedia. Request on 01:08:45, 11 November 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by RealityTVfanatic
hi, I need help with getting the proper non biased sources for this article so it can get approved. I used some sources from the production of her show, namely corus entertainment that produces real housewives of Toronto and also a convention bio, which I guess isn't a proper source. Can someone help me fix up the citation sources of this page. WE can delete the quote. that's fine. Please help.
RealityTVfanatic (talk) 01:08, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- RealityTVfanatic The only one that's kind of a decent source is the King Weekly Sentinel article. Everything else is just passing mentions or primary sources / press releases. Hello! You recently rejected this page for not having the right resources. I agree with that, so I removed the random YouTubers, and tried to find reviews on Metacritic or GameRankings. However, the first has the game listed but no reviews are available, and the second doesn't have the game listed at all. Now you may ask, why want to include this game at all? Well, since this is the only game published by YoYo Games's original author Mark Overmars himself. The app's popularity has on its peak in 2013 been ~50.000 downloads as far as I'm able to track that, so I would like to include this page not based on it's popularity but rather on the fact Overmars created it. It has recently (after some discussion) been added to the List of GameMaker Studio games and I was wondering how and if it would be possible to create this Wikipedia page. Thanks for answering!HollandMill (talk) 10:15, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- HollandMill, if you have game reviews supported by reliable sites as listed by WP:VG/RS, then try to use those. Same with academic papers and news articles that might have discussed his work. If this is Overmars's only game, then why not create a section on the game in his article? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 14:18, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- AngusWOOF, several sites in the list mention the game or have a page about it, but most of them contain zero reviews, e.g. Metacritic: https://www.metacritic.com/game/ios/super-snake-hd The only one I found to show a review is Pocket Gamer: https://www.pocketgamer.com/articles/046847/free-apps-of-the-day-x-runner-super-snake-hd/ As far as I can find, it is his only game, but it was made together with Jochem Schut (designer). Therefore I didn't want to just make a small mention of the game on Overmars's page. I don't have too much experience on Wikipedia, so I wish to ask: what do you think? What would be the best to do? HollandMill (talk) 14:58, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- nl:Mark Overmars has a brief paragraph about the game and collaboration with Schut. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:32, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- AngusWOOF Thanks, I'll incorporate it in Overmars's page instead. The Draft page on Super Snake HD can therefore be removed.

I saw you rejected the new article about "Kate Manne" on the ground not sourced and not notable. I disagree. I properly sourced both her book and her assistant professorship. The Book has hundreds of reviews so definitely notable.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Chickensparta (talk • contribs) 19:25, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- You should cite the reviews from the major critics then to show she meets WP:NACADEMIC or WP:NAUTHOR. Like I said before if she is only an "assistant professor" she won't be able to meet WP:NACADEMIC #5: "The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon)." Zig programming language article
I added a `Design` section to the article, in hopes that it would make it seem like less of a manual page.
The examples aren't meant to mirror manual pages, but instead give a brief view into how common tasks are written in the language. I did this in lieu of finding other programming languages that do the same (e.g. Nim programming language, Haskell programming language). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benji is me (talk • contribs) 20:21, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
- Benji is me, can you find some news articles that discuss the language? That would give it more notability than shared repository sites like Github. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:23, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
The only articles I could find were the ones from "Infoworld.com," "Sdtimes.com," and "Jaxenter.com". The language is somewhat new, but has gained a lot of attention recently. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benji is me (talk • contribs) 20:27, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

Creation on New Article Draft:Liu Guodao
Hi @AnguWoof:, could you please help me to review another article I created here: Draft:Liu Guodao? I tried to take all your previous comments in consideration. Your advice will be highly appreciated. Many thanks.--Hongkongneteyes (talk) 02:22, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
- I would apply the same advice as recommended on the Wang Yan article as a starter, and as long as it has plenty of WP:GNG sources, you can submit it. Doesn't have to wait for me to review. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:29, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

- @AngusWOOF: Following your comments, I reviewed the guidelines of WP:GNG and sorted out the reference items into 3 categories: 1/ those from secondary sources, independent of the subject giving significant details; 2/ those from secondary sources, independent of the subject giving brief details; 3/ those from primary sources that give verified details, but mainly based on biography or press releases related to the subject. Hello AngusWOOF,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

Request on 12:04:53, 19 November 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Hormatsingapura
Dear AngusWOOF, I recently had a article reviewed by you. Your comment was "How are years of service awards for a particular department notable for Wikipedia in general?".
Have you seen the "see also" section where there are wikipedia pages created for similar uniformed services in my country, namely the police force, civil defence force and armed forces. Although my draft lacked the pictures that those similar pages had but I have the pictures ready with me. It is just that wikipedia does not allow me to have them uploaded.
Hormatsingapura (talk) 12:04, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hormatsingapura I went ahead and accepted it, but need citations that the first three general medals are appropriate for ICA officers. It's still on the stubby side as specific awards for years of service aren't really that notable in itself, but if you can get sources for the Pingat ones and others, then those might be worthy. See also the annual report for other increments of service that might have been awarded but not publicized in the S202 and S203 documents. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:57, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Salina Vortex Corp
AngusWOOF,
Thank you for your help with edits to Salina Vortex Corp. Please note that although I have been reading through all of the Wikipedia materials as thoroughly as possible, I am still new to the uploading process. In the past, I have focused more on the editorial, instead of the creation process. I believe I have taken necessary steps to gather quality sources, but if any are beyond the scope of Wikipedia, please let me know which specific sources those are, so that I can make the necessary revisions. I am currently in discussions with the company, Salina Vortex Corporation, to see if I can obtain image licensing to supplement the wiki page.
Thanks again for your mentorship as I learn the Wiki upload process and I hope you have a nice day.
Ltc1993 (talk) 21:44, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- The main part of sources is that they meet WP:GNG, which means no primaries (website material, press releases, connected trade magazine articles), or passing mentions. Picture licensing is a different beast, if they can submit some freely licensed pictures via OTRS/email to get them approved by commons, that would be good. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:41, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, for the additional information, AngusWOOF. After reviewing your description and the Wikipedia guidelines, I am still a bit fuzzy on sourcing for the topic I'm discussing. As I understand it, you are saying community news sources (such as CNN) are credible sources, but industry-related sources (such as a trade magazine) are not acceptable because the written content was likely submitted by the company itself? Thank you for the additional description. Sorry I am having trouble getting my head around the sourcing complexities. Ltc1993 (talk) 22:46, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ltc1993, you can check out WP:RS on what's considered a good reliable source. Trade magazines are okay if they aren't written by the company or interview heavily with the company. In other words, if the journalist did the research on the company and summarized that, then it's okay, but if the journalist rehashed what the company told the person then not so much. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 00:34, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, AngusWOOF. I am not associated with the company and have not been paid to create the company page. I am a local resident. This company has a unique local history, so I am creating out of personal interest. Also, as I am making revisions, I notice that I do not have a "Resubmit" icon. The draft is once again ready for review. Is there some other way for me to "submit" so that the reviewing board is notified? Thank you. Ltc1993 (talk) 15:25, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

In regards to the draft Frank Reckard page
Hi AngusWoof. Thanks for taking the time and your contributions to this draft page. I added a NYT citation and also came across info that I added on Reckard's guitar. I hope these edits (esp those you provided) now meet standards. Please let me know if I can provide additional info. Mkbergman (talk) 16:23, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mkbergman, The NYT one is still a passing mention. Can you find some articles that focus more on Reckard himself? The one in Guitar World / Guitar Magazine was a good one. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:30, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- AngusWOOF Thanks for continuing to help. These are good finds, but I agree I am having difficulty finding another specific online review of Reckard. I know he was given a cover treatment in Guitar World in 1984 [16], but that is only available in paper and not online. I have not tried to write up a person before, but did so for Reckard because I think he is so amazing. There are quite a few clips of him on YouTube, but I suspect that does not meet Wikipedia standards. Is there enough here to get this guitarist some of the treatment he deserves? - The article doesn't have to be online, as long as it's in-depth like that one. Maybe we can add that as Further reading? Can you add the ones I listed above in the meantime? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:34, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mkbergman, on the chance that you have the actual magazine, can you look up the page numbers for his article and also find the title as well? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:43, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mkbergman, I found it! Well, the table of contents anyway. https://www.amazon.com/GUITAR-PLAYER-Jaco-Frank-Reckard/dp/B00EVUEZ4W AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:49, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mkbergman, can you find a source for his birth date and place? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:59, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- AngusWOOF Thanks again for your help!. I will look to fill the open gaps you noted (have some already). Are you suggesting adding the 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 links? If so, where is the appropriate spot? At any rate, I really appreciate your help since conforming to standards is not always so straightforward! Mkbergman (talk) 20:56, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mkbergman, some of the articles discuss his playing style or review his musicianship so those could be integrated in the music section. Others concern the groups he played with so those can be used to beef up those sentences. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:41, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Re: the rejection of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Shuttl
Hi, thanks for taking the time out to review the page. I'm sorry it didn't meet the guidelines of Wikipedia before. I have edited the page in accordance with your suggestion to provide more context and remove terms that make the page look like an advertisement. All the links referenced here are independent, notable media sources. Please reconsider this page for submission. I would be grateful for any further advice that helps make the language more neutral and makes the page more suited for Wikipedia.
Ankush (talk) 06:33, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- Ankush, I'll take a look, but make sure the media sources aren't rehashed press releases, and also the article should have some criticism of the products if such exist so as to be neutral. You may want to ask K.e.coffman as well on the article as he has rejected the latest version of it. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:06, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Article draft- AO Music
Hi Angus,
Thank you for reviewing the draft I submitted today for AO Music. I just read the requisites for musicians/bands, and I wonder if you could help me be more clear before I edit and resubmit for your approval. AO Music has released five albums since they formed, and three of the four musicians in this group are very well known in the industry, having composed, produced and performed with a long list of A-list artists (Jimmy Buffett, Queen, Glenn Frey, Bonnie Rait, Tina Turner, George Michaels, Chick Corea, Dave Weckl, Pat Metheny, on and on), and are heard in major motion picture soundtracks, etc. I gave links to their AllMusic credits. Do you consider AllMusic a solid reference? I studied several artist wikis and noted where they used AllMusic as an industry-standard resource for credits verification in their article references.
Also, please tell me if this will help: AO Music recordings composed by Richard Gannaway of AO Music have twice been the Grand Prize Winner in the USA Songwiting Competition and The John Lennon Songwritting Competition (World Music category 2011 and 2013). Will showing those accomplishments help this article get approved?
One more question: Radio broadcasters who submit their playlists to Zone Music Reporter as one of the few reliable broadcaster communities where World music artists in the US and Western Europe can gain relevant chart ranking rely on it heavily for good contextual place in the genre’s market, and AO Music has twice won their award for Best World Music Album In 2013 and 2017. The group was in competition with several great world music/new age music icons when they won those awards. ZMR is not a mainstream, though a very reputable music chart for The World music genre, whereas this genre is very eclipsed by the mainstream music genres on Billboard...which is why it is so useful a relevant to the international World music community. Therefore, World music artists and broadcasters very much depend on this chart, which is a true representation of the artists’ rank amongst their peers and fans. I hope this chart is acceptable in you view, as it has been a Godsend to our ability to gain credibility as such a small genre.
Please tell me your thoughts, and help me with this article. I would appreciate it very much. My PhD study is ethnomusicology, and I’ve watched this group and a couple others be extremely influential in bringing hybrid/contemporary elements to the World music genre over the past several years, which has great helped the genre to gain more public appreciation.
Many Thanks!

- yh, several of the musicians have their own Wikipedia articles, so if they have worked directly with other musicians, then that's relevant for their page and not AO's page. We need news articles about AO Music and their contributions as a band with those other artists. Have they toured with those bands? Have they headlined any concerts? If they frequently visit South Africa, can you dig up some newspapers and magazines that review their albums and songs? South Africa has RISA and EMA charts. Please see WP:BADCHARTS for a list of what charts are good and what are not good for reliable sources. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:50, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Request on 14:26:41, 22 November 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Mheppler
Thanks for the feedback, AngusWOOF. Are you suggesting the topic is covered in full by the existing content on the Alex Smith pg? Could I add a new "Theismann-Smith_coincidences" subheader under the "Washington Redskins" section? Any other specific suggestion to improve the content are appreciated. Gobble-gobble.
Mheppler (talk) 14:26, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- Mheppler, it can be summarized in a few sentence or two; it does not lead a list. For example, "Writers have compared Smith's injury situation to that of Theismann's x years ago in month and day, quarter, yard line, play, and final score."(add references here) AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:28, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Matthew S - I followed your directions
Hi AngusWOOF, thank you very much for your support! I followed your directions to create my article. Are they okay now? I hope so! If it's not ok... Can I ask you for help in creating my article? I'm writing an article about a famous Italian artist. Best, KIODOS — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kiodos (talk • contribs) 19:11, 4 November 2018 (UTC)

- Please indicate on the draft which articles enable it to meet WP:MUSICBIO requirements. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 02:26, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
As articles you say Reference link? I answered you directly in the draft. I have read the "Criteria for musicians and ensembles". From how I wrote in the article He respects all the points. Kiodos (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:29, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Kiodos Thanks for listing those articles; editors can now review those for MUSICBIO. I don't see where he meets #2 "Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart." or #3 "Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country." or #8 "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award.". So can you clarify what you mean by he meets all the points? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:42, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you so much for this clarification, then as I wrote in the article Matthew S was named "MTV best new generation", I added some reference links, and this summer was in the Top 10 MTV Dance Chart, with Many international artists like David Guetta, Tiesto, Bob Sinclair (also here I have inserted the reference link). He also participated with Benny Benassi and Robin Schulz at the MTV digital days(also here I have inserted the reference link). Can this be enough or do you need more information? I've been as complete as possible. Kiodos (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:04, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Kiodos, MTV isn't really the country's national music chart or a major national award, so maybe other articles per musicbio. I found one by Alto Vincentino Online that I just added to the lead paragraph, which could help with secondary sources. Can you rewrite the timeline section into prose? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:07, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your edit, What meaning in prose? sorry :-) Kiodos (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:12, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

AngusWOOF what should I do now? Do I still have to make changes to the article? I have not received any news from you. You are very kind! Kiodos (talk)
AngusWOOF I have no more changes to make in this article. Do I have to wait for your confirmation of publication? What I have to do ? Thank you! Kiodos (talk)

AngusWOOF I've seen many artists on wikipedia with articles written by local newspapers. I hope this goes well! You could not confirm my article now? How can I resubmit it ?? Kiodos (talk)
- Kiodos, it appears to be resubmitted. I left a comment on the article for someone else to review the sources. To me, it's very borderline as most of them are still interviews or primary, and the ones that are not are passing mentions / insignificant coverage. But another reviewer may beg to differ. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:33, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
AngusWOOF I wrote on kiwi IRC, they gave me support for the correction of the article.

AngusWOOF Hi, I have implemented the sources. Can you see if everything is ok? All the best, --Kiodos (talk) 17:33, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- Kiodos, the only change since last time was that there was an additional article on Canadian Beats that has a passing mention of Matthew S's name on one of the remix tracks. The Teardrop Lever Article Citation Problem
Hi there AngusWOOF. You recently commented on my article, the one on the teardrop lever. I totally understand why you made it a draft, but I simply cannot find any reliable citation anywhere. I got this information orally from my French horn teacher. Do you think you could help me with this problem? I will probably have this problem in the future, as I am the kind of person who deals with strange information.
Thanks,
MrEagerMcBeaver (talk) 03:18, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- MrEagerMcBeaver, are there some books that discuss this term? Is it specific to French horns? I do see something in Vienna horn about a lever that looks like a teardrop. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 06:00, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
I have recently heard that this is not specific to French horns, or musical instruments at all. The Vienna horn thing is the reason why I created, or tried to create, the article in the first place. It was red-linked.

Article on clustering standard erorrs
Thank you for your review. I made some changes, mostly in how references are included. This article does not include any original research and cites papers published in the top quality peer reviewed journals. All the information in the article is mathematical facts, there is no opinion. If you are not familiar with the subject matter, please find someone who is so that they can review the article objectively. I don't know what else I can do to make it sound more encyclopedic. BTW, I have published in actual print encyclopedias on various subject related to economics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.0.144.37 (talk) 03:31, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- 50.0.144.37, you can resubmit it and let another editor review it. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 05:04, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi!
When I was reviewing some drafts submission I saw this one Draft:Kuami Eugene. As you can probably guess, I have no clue what to do. Because WP:GNG and WP:NMUSIC wise, he fails them since none of the references attached are significant coverage of him and without listing NOTHING of his discography. BUT he won an award on Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which makes him pass WP:ANYBIO. So should this be accepted just because of this or not? Jovanmilic97 (talk) 17:25, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- Jovanmilic97, is the Vodafone award a significant music award in Ghana as with WP:MUSICBIO #8. "Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award." I don't see him listed in the Artiste of the Year there, so it must not be that big of a deal. WP:ANYBIO is more for awards that are well-known world-wide in general like Nobel Prize. Can you find other news articles that cover his life and career? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:31, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- You looked at the wrong Award (not UK) but above it that is also referenced per https://www.myjoyonline.com/entertainment/2018/April-15th/full-list-of-winners-at-2018-vodafone-ghana-music-awards.php. But still...such a bizzare borderline case. I am not able to find something about him as much to contribute towards GNG. Seems like a WP:TOOSOON since he has an upcoming album in December. So yeah, the question is if Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is enough to push past the facts this is a poor article which also fails main notability guidelines. Guess I will leave it to you or someone else to decline or accept if needed. Since I am on a 2 month probation for AfC reviewing, I dont want to make a mistake here. Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 17:40, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm looking at Vodafone_Ghana_Music_Awards#Ghana_Music_Awards_Artist_of_the_Year. I'm asking if that's the equivalent of the nation's Grammies to meet WP:MUSICBIO #8. Is there another article for Ghana Music Awards besides Ghana Music Awards UK? There's this one too from AFRIMA [17] I think those two would be pretty good for MUSICBIO #8 if those are the top music awards from that country. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:02, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- Great find on the second award! He does seem to be passing the criteria in hopes someone will cleanup the article in the future when his album is released. if that's the equivalent of the nation's Grammies no clue there, hence I came here since you were one of the AfC reviewers who also acted before on the draft. I would assume so if it is sponsored by Vodafone and is running for 18 years, but dunno. Jovanmilic97 (talk) 18:07, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

- Jovanmilic97 the reason I initially rejected the draft was because it was saying how he has released a bunch of hits, yet there was nothing substantial to back that up (no charting of any note) or even a chronology/discography of what he was released. And there was also a major COI scrubbing. The article should be scrubbed with the other sources present, make sure those are coming from reputable and RS websites and not just random contributors. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:11, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello, AngusWOOF, thanks for taking the time to review the submission article, over the past few days I did tried may best to scramble for more information on the page I created Take 3 (STAR Characters) Is it possible that you can help edit the page and add more to it by contributing to it, that would be great if you can contribute to the page and would be helpful as much as awesome!!! Thanks, Tvfilmmusicfan
I actually took the same format from THE GAME (U.S. TV series) where Melanie Barnett-Davis, has her own character article created but they also have another joining page of list of characters from the tv series. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tvfilmmusicfan (talk • contribs) 04:01, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
PS, I am actually not a first time editor I have anonymously edit for quite a few years now, just wanted to create a new page. But it would be great and respectful if others can add to it like a helpful community. It would be great to see this article go public and others can contribute with great intentions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tvfilmmusicfan (talk • contribs) 03:42, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- As I said on the draft article feedback, the group as a trio has to be notable as that trio. If there are reviews of the show that discuss them as that trio, then that would be helpful. If on the other hand, they just discuss the individual characters, then it's better to just leave them as a subsection in a characters list. Josie and the Pussycats does not have their own "band" article, for example. List of Naruto characters has a number of trio teams, but the individual characters are more important than the team article. Charlie's Angels is also a trio but doesn't have a team article. Jaime Mendez draft page
AngusWOOF, thank you for input on my page. I have several questions, things I don't understand, and I'd like to understand for the purposes of not only this page I'm working on but also any Wiki work I do in the future. Regarding this specific Mendez page, I definitely want to proceed with the page because this person IS a real, notable public figure worthy of mention in Wikipedia...so I want to make whatever changes are needed to get the page published.
1) So you're saying NOT to use Wiki articles as references? I have seen other pages that do this...I figured if Wiki articles are thoroughly checked over for accuracy, they should be good reference sources. But you're saying NOT to use them? You also said to take out the LinkedIn reference...I know of a published page that has ONLY 2 LinkedIn references...how was her page Ok'd/published? I'm just confused about the process. But anyway, I can change the Wiki and LinkedIn refs.
2) I thought if I used a variety of reference sources, that would look better overall than using fewer references which are all the same type of reference...but it sounds like you'd rather potentially have fewer references if it means every reference will be of higher quality/verifiability?
3) You suggested redoing the lead paragraph to say that Mendez is a news anchor and reporter. But the lead paragraph already states that, so I'm not understanding why you suggested to include that. Did you mean something else?
4) There's mention that a major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with the subject and a neutral point of view is needed. What is this referring to? The KUNS TV reference, because that is his employer? If so, why wouldn't this be considered reliable? To me, his employer, who has done checks on him as to his background and experience, is in essence a source of confirmation of his status, background, and experience...right? It's not exactly a neutral point of view, but it's not a questionable, controversial source/point of view either. Please just further explain this comment as it pertains specifically to this article, not just in general.
Thanks AngusWOOF, I look forward to your further clarification. JaiMen95 (talk) 01:46, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Lydia
- Okay I will try to answer these questions:
- 1) Regarding wikipedia articles as references, do not use as that is circular. Read WP:CIR. Instead, use the references on those Wikipedia articles that refer to the subject. Linkedin should be sparingly used WP:SELFPUB, like if there are no other sources to verify that he was employed with a certain company.
- 2) I'd prefer higher quality sources that detail the subject and not just mention his name in passing. See WP:GNG and WP:V
- 3) The lead sentence should say what he is, not that he was born in (place). Being born in that place doesn't make him notable. Saying he is a (nationality) news anchor for (channel) will be clearer. See MOS:LEADSENTENCE and MOS:OPENPARABIO
- 4) If you're his employer you probably have a conflict of interest (WP:COI) in writing up the biography for the person. It might be better to just write up his bio in your website, and then cite the website, making sure to reword it so it is not a copy-paste of the writeup there. This would still be considered a primary source or even a press release, so it would be better to find secondary sources (news websites that aren't connected to the subject) that cover his career and life.
- Hope that helps explain things. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 01:59, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
FURTHER RESPONSE:
Thank you, yes that does clarify. Especially on #3...you meant to suggest that I change the lead SENTENCE in the lead paragraph...this makes sense.
I don't know if I can just add response to you like this or if this is not the correct way to go about it ( I assume I don't create a new topic)...hoping you can help with this additional topic: HOW do I access the draft page easily now so that I can continue editing the page? Meaning how do I get back to it? And if I get signed out or something, how do I retrieve it? Because the username is in red and I just get messages that my page doesn't exist...but it does cuz we've come this far, it does exist...what does it mean that it doesn't exist? In the userpage tab there is a sandbox heading area and beneath there is now a red link redirecting me to Draft: Jaime Mendez, but when I click on it, I don't know what to do next, and then when I try to navigate it asks if I want to leave the page cuz I might lose work I've done. I've never quite understood this whole process of creation, and in the past I seemed to have lost previous work and had to start over again...can you explain HOW it all works and how I navigate easily and properly from here? I'm really afraid of somehow losing all of the work I've done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JaiMen95 (talk • contribs) 04:11, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
- JaiMen95, You can access it at Draft:Jaime Méndez; it's still there. The thing about the page not existing is your user page. The sandbox is still there. I changed it so that if you go there it will have a message saying to click over to Draft:Jaime Méndez. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 04:18, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, I've been working on the page per your suggestions and clarifications, thank you! Oh I'm not his employer. I've added high quality sources that detail the subject and his career/life, changed some content/wording including the lead paragraph. I'm going to continue working on it and will hopefully resubmit it soon. Thank you for the guidance! JaiMen95 (talk) 16:56, 15 November 2018 (UTC)Lydia
NEW RELATED MESSAGE: I've come to find out that there's a published EverybodyWiki article about Jaime Mendez that is a version of the page I created...it's not the final version that I submitted, though...what is this article/how did it get there? Is there a way I can replace it with the "final" version I created that is waiting for approval as an official article? Or can I take this page off if I so choose? Please advise. Thank you. JaiMen95 (talk) 00:26, 25 November 2018 (UTC)Lydia
- JaiMen95 I have no idea what Everybody Wiki does with Wikipedia's drafts. They could take whatever version they want and tweak it. It doesn't matter, it's not Wikipedia. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:25, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
Kind of an Emergency.......question about Redirect
Hi AngusWOOF, I have a question about a Redirect page Pinkfong. I am preparing an article for Pinkfong, which will be my 4th contribution for Wikipedia Asian Month which ends on November 30. The page must be in my name for submission, and its creation date must be in November. I will have it ready to upload by the morning of November 30 (KST). What can I do about the Redirect page for Pinkfong that already exists? I need to create a new page (and will add the 2 pages currently linked by redirects there). What can I do? Thank you in advance.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 06:45, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- You could replace the redirect with that article if it passes notability and is all ready to go. I don't see the redirect being protected at the moment? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 06:55, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, AngusWOOF for your fast reply! So I just go to the Redirect for Pinkfong, edit it by removing the tag for redirect and enter my new article and upload on that page? I thought it would retain the name of the original editor that created the Redirect in September 2018? Thanks, it's just I once had a Redirect of my own become an article with my name on it....so I am trying to understand the exact procedure.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 07:28, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- I don't know about the technicalities behind who they consider the original editor, but it doesn't matter. They should see from the edit history that you would have contributed the most to the article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 14:40, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you again. I have now asked the original editor to delete it, if they will. I would do it for anyone, as I have created several Redirects, then wondered what would happen if someone wanted to create a "real page" on that subject or person. The Asian Month project first rule is: "The article is newly created by you (i.e. not expanding stubs) between November 1, 2018 0:00 and November 30, 2018 23:59 (UTC)." I think they had too much difficulty in the past evaluating expansions.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 23:22, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- A redirect is not a stub. You should be able to post your page on top of that, and have it credited as your work. Stub would be more like someone already having an article that says "Pinkfong is a company that does this and that." AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 23:25, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Oh, do you mean just edit the existing Redirect by blanking the tag and adding my new work there? Then the original Pinkfong "Page Information" will show me as "Page Creator"? --Bonnielou2013 (talk) 23:47, 29 November 2018 (UTC) and it will change the "Date of page creation" to November 30?--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 23:54, 29 November 2018 (UTC) The page CNCO is one that I have experienced with Redirect. I created the Redirect in February 2016 and it never changed although other editors and myself made it into a real page. [18]--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 00:01, 30 November 2018 (UTC) Actually reading back on the history, I was the one notified I had created a new article....not the other editor that first added some poorly sourced information. I felt so guilty that I did go on an contribute to creating the page.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 00:12, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello - this individual has enough significance in his industry to warrant a Wikipedia page. in fact, he's very well known and respected throughout the global tattoo industry. He's considered an icon to many for his design creativity and sacred geometry influence. He's so well known that Kat Von D contacted him to tattoo her in 2015... That tattoo session on Kat is known to have made this style of tattooing more popular (as referenced in the Paramount link and -- for what it's worth -- through my personal experience talking to people who have never actually met him but follow him and love his work. He's that well known.).
Kat references him here on Twitter after he tattooed her forearm: https://twitter.com/thekatvond/status/580502555148587008..
He just did a new interview it looks like and it highlights him tattooing Chris Hemsworth in Morocco recently... https://www.tattoolife.com/dillon-forte-and-the-archetypal-truths/
He has global recognition within his space which will only continue to cement itself and there are plenty of tattoo artists with Wikipedia pages.
Please let me know what advice you have. This is my first article and I hope to see it through.
Thanks, Steve

- 2600:1012:B055:BF2B:A969:B9DD:A998:EC8C, the main thing is to find reliable sources independent of the subject but cover the subject in detail, like more magazine articles, less blog posts and word of mouth. A tweet by a celeb isn't the same as such an article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:00, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Thanks. I will look to satisfy you here, but to be honest I think the multiple full articles about the subject from diverse sources satisfy gng as it already stands. Can we have someone else look at the article at the same time, to see what they think? Thanks. --2604:2000:E010:1100:BDF5:355B:7678:CF80 (talk) 20:28, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Request on 02:42:37, 29 November 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by The Navigators
I object to the article being declined on the grounds of "There is already a detailed article on warning signs, and safety sign redirects there." and "There is also Hazard symbol which covers this topic." It isn't a content fork issue because they are actually different.
- The Warning sign article has almost exclusively been an article about traffic warning signs. And that's how it's written and edited, adding it there, seems inappropriate. Further the length of the article been raised as being an issue, so trying to add an entire new article to it isn't going to help that issue.
- Hazard symbol more operates like a list of symbols, there's overlap, but again not the same thing, and I recall reading somewhere in the help pages that you should not just completely rewrite an article unless there's an actual fault with it justifying rewriting it.
The old Safety signs article was merged with Warning sign in 2007, because the content was entirely unsourced and deleted. The 'Warning sign' article then was about traffic warning signs, and has remained about them ever since.
If there's other flaws with the article I accept a decline for those reasons and would like to hear them, but I object being declined solely for this reason. --The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 02:42, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
The Navigators, maybe you can check with the editors over at Warning sign article (post a note at the talk page) and see if they are amenable to splitting off the Safety sign redirect. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 06:52, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- I made a split request discussion on the talk page and placed notices on the page. I'll also be requesting to take redirects for Wet floor sign for somewhat obvious reasons, I'll make edits to my article to include information on floor signs.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 09:35, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- The Navigators, thanks, that will help it from being a content fork. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 14:37, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- So, JJMC89 just replaced the Draft:Safety sign with a redirect to Warning Sign, without comment on either pages' talk pages, the split discussion or my talk page, so I reverted it. Is there a template I should put on the draft to draw attention that we're discussing its rejection.--The Navigators (talk)-May British Rail Rest in Peace. 00:50, 2 December 2018 (UTC)

Lee "Wolf" Jae-Wan article
Hey AngusWOOF, thank you for the guidance and feedback on the article. I've added more personal information regarding the person, changed wording to be more neutral and added various sources which focus on the person itself rather than his team. I'm quite new to this, so it's hard for me to know what exactly is a quality article. Please let me know if anything has to be changed.
Thanks in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TZand (talk • contribs) 19:33, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- TZand, if you can identify articles that cover him in detail that are independent of his team, those would be good. They need to meet WP:GNG. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:47, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- TZand, please connect the references to the article itself. Do not leave them sitting at the bottom of the article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 20:42, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
AngusWOOF, thanks for the guidance once again. I've resubmitted the article. In-line citations were added, many more sources and some unreliable ones swapped out. A lot more personalized information (e.g. his personal storylines as opposed to only the team's) and sources to back those up. On top of that, there is more general information about him in the infobox than before.
Once more, if there is anything that should be changed, please let me know. Definitely looking to improve the draft to the best of my abilities.
Thanks

Thanks for taking a look at my submitted page. I had gone through guidance for resubmission with User talk:K.e.coffman and was hoping that the main reference being in Hungarian language didn't get it rejected again. This draft wiki article has a link to a 15-page article in the Hungarian national magazine Szemle, here is the link: https://issuu.com/mzsk.hu/docs/szemle15_2_netre/75 It is a print magazine that has reproductions available online. The article focusses solely on the subject of Anina Pinter. Yes its in Hungarian :) But it can be translated looking through Google Translate video etc if it is not apparent that the article is about Pinter. These are the different issues online, I think its a quarterly magazine. http://www.mzsk.hu/szemle/ 67.201.9.50 (talk) 03:25, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- If it's google translatable then we can check if it has significant coverage on Pinter. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:29, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry that’s what I meant by Google Translate video. You would have to hold an iPhone up to a computer screen with the Google Translate app running, translating thru camera vision. Because the magazine is a printed one, the link I provided doesn’t give selectable text. It is searchable text so you can see how many times the name Pinter comes up through the article, if doing the translate app approach isn’t your thing! Thanks for taking a look and I could always find a way to share screen grabs witb translated text if needed?67.201.9.50 (talk) 07:04, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- Are you able to help or is there a place on Wikipedia where I can find reviewers who won't just reject this article because its main supporting references are in Hungarian? Both you and a previous reviewer have rejected it despite a substantial article, how should I get it reviewed by someone who is able to read the references? It seems that WP allows foreign language references for criteria such as notability. Thanks. 67.201.9.50 (talk) 21:14, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- You can resubmit the article and have another reviewer check it out. It doesn't have to be me to re-review. I will try to jump in and clean up the citation so it is presentable. 21:27, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you! In the meantime I've found a translation site - yandex translate.. that can provide an English translation! Its not a great translation but its functional enough. I'm afraid that another reviewer will have the same reaction but if you are able to help in any way, cleaning it up etc - yes please. And if the translation site I've found can help, even better. Please let me know if and when you think its ready for me to resubmit. So if you use this https://translate.yandex.com/translate and choose "SITE" at the top left for the translation mode, enter the site address https://issuu.com/mzsk.hu/docs/szemle15_2_netre/75 and set it to Hungarian for the source language and English for the result lang, it will provide a decent-enough translation. 67.201.9.50 (talk) 21:37, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- 67.201.9.50, can you find some more articles about Pinter? The Szemle one is really good detail, is there another magazine writeup on her? The other sources are just passing mentions of her in credits. Also did she win any awards for her costuming? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 17:54, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
- I don’t know about any awards, none that I can find but there was a mention of an Italian award in the Szemle article. I found a link to an Italian film festival where she was a judge, not a full article either https://www.notfilmfest.com/copy-of-judges But I haven’t found many other substantial articles yet. I was encouraged to write a WP article as I thought I could pass the notability requirements by combining an in-depth article like in Szemle with the various less substantial references that establish the notable films this person has worked on, but if I need to keep searching I will. Thanks for all your time looking in to it 67.201.9.50 (talk) 06:52, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, I found a mention in another (Hungarian but google translatable) article about a recent project. https://magyar.film.hu/filmhu/magazin/brutalis-lett-es-gyonyoru-peter-strickland-magyar-nepmeseje.html?fbclid=IwAR1UEjqiMwInhvbKZRGVyKQi7xhk85Rq2y1P0prI2R4Q6vZaKqvLOkkwA-s Are you still up for helping me clean up/ make presentable/ resubmit? I don’t know how to go about making that detailed article in Szemle’s translation obvious to other reviewers, for example. Thank you.67.201.9.50 (talk) 17:55, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- PS just seen that you have done a bunch of work on the article, thank you very much! 67.201.9.50 (talk) 17:59, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for all your hard work. I have resubmitted the article for review, I know you don't necessarily want to be the re-reviewer, but its there if you do. Thanks again.67.201.9.50 (talk) 20:45, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- @AngusWOOF: Hope I didn't resubmit before you were ready! You've found a lot of good stuff and I've added a few more details.

Hi AngusWOOF,

Deaf in Nazi Germany
I see that your MFD listing of drafts had to be relisted four times. I think that the real reason is that you were using Miscellany for Deletion for a function that we have agreed from time to time is not in its scope, and that is to discuss some action about a draft other than to delete it. There have been repeated discussions of whether MFD should be Miscellany for Discussion, and it has been agreed that it is only for deletion discussions. Since neither you nor anyone else had proposed that those drafts be deleted, they were actually out of scope. Did you think that MFD has or should have a further role about drafts than deleting them? If so, we may need to revisit the policy issue. I know that you were seeking guidance, but maybe you would have gotten your guidance somewhere else somewhat sooner. Do you have a different perspective? Robert McClenon (talk) 07:35, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Robert McClenon, please see my latest recommandation concerning those drafts. I think of those, two can be deleted. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 14:29, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- Robert McClenon, it's in the context of content forking like too many drafts of the same material repeatedly submitted but just worded slightly differently and all with lousy (single source) referencing. Of these, I tried to clarify that I wanted two of them to be deleted. I think the author eventually got the point that they could work on expanding existing articles. But, yes, there was stuff to be deleted, which is why I brought it up to MFD. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:00, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:AngusWOOF I have just reviewed the MFD page one more time, and I still don't see any deletion recommendations. If you were trying to recommend that some of the drafts be deleted, I don't see that recommendation, and I think that the other reviewers didn't either. I am not saying that you did anything wrong, but I think that you didn't do anything right either. It appears that you were, in good faith, using MFD, which is a deletion process, as a discussion process, and it doesn't work like that. If you think that it should be revised to be also a discussion process, that can be discussed on the project talk page. I think that you meant well and wasted time. If you think that MFD should be changed to Miscellany for Discussion, maybe you can propose that, but I think that there is consensus that discussion of drafts and other stuff, except about deletion, can take place on draft talk pages (or user talk pages or project talk pages). - Yes. You originally nominated the pages on October 27, and they went through three relists with little or no comment. Finally on December 3 I said to keep all of them, and you then replied with specific recommendations. It still appears that you were, in good faith, using MFD as Miscellany for Discussion. Request on 17 October 2018 for assistance on AfC submission revived
Hey Angus,
We couldn't finish talking about my last request, so I'm reviving it in this new discussion. I'm copying below an excerpt of our last back and forth to give you some context.
"I've corrected the buzzwords and other edits you made. My only question is: We don't have any articles or links about the inauguration of our LATAM offices. Do we have to provide a citation for this? The only sites we can provide as "proof" are the job searches we carry out on each country where we have an office. Can that count as a citation? Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AdaLovelaceDev (talk • contribs) 18:06, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
Do you have any news articles written about the company? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 18:10, 22 October 2018 (UTC)"
To answer your last question: we don't actually have news articles about the inauguration of our LATAM offices. The only sources we have are job searches on each country that we are based in. Does that count as citation? Thanks Angus. AdaLovelaceDev (talk) 15:47, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- The question is more whether you have any citations that will meet WP:GNG / WP:ORGCRIT standards. It's okay for some of the citations on the article to come from primary (company website), but there needs to be significant coverage in multiple secondary sources that are independent of the subject in order for it to be Wikipedia notable. Can you identify any of those citations? AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 16:07, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Angus. Does this link count as a source? https://themanifest.com/co/app-development/companies
Otherwise, as I said, the only sources we have are job searches on each country we are based in. Those searches are not published only on our company website, they are in various job sites (such as Glassdoor), so we would have diversity in the sources. Draft for List of Zac Efron performances declined
Hi, there! I thank you very much for reviewing my list and giving me feedback. In my opinion, the filmography for Zac Efron is getting to be quite bloated and the actor isn't showing signs of slowing down anytime soon (meaning it'll only get larger), so I figured I would preemptively make a separate list for his performances. There is an ongoing AfD discussion regarding his discography and I believe the best way to make everyone happy is to split his filmography and discography into one separate list. Is it possible to be bold about this and simply conduct the split with plans to clean everything up the second it's approved in AfC? Or do you believe a discussion needs to happen first? I thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. — Miss Sarita 03:42, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Miss Sarita, you should discuss this at the talk page for Zac Efron, get approval for splitting there first. It doesn't need to go through a drafting. In the meantime, you should put your edits into the filmography at the main article so you don't waste your time in editing at two places. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:48, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Much appreciated. I will heed your advice and follow proper protocol. Thank you! — Miss Sarita 03:50, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
