Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Unconditional (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Carter (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Courageous screenshot.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Courageous screenshot.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:06, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

When God Writes Your Love Story

Hi American Eagle,

Thank you for your feedback with respect to the When God Writes Your Love Story article. I have ordered some more sources through my local library, so hopefully I'll be able to expand the article a little more. I agree with your assessment of the second passage you mentioned (the one about the non-notable newspaper editor whose girlfriend brought him a copy of the book) and have therefore removed that passage completely. I have also shortened the first passage you mentioned from three sentences to one. I think it important to keep a mention of Gardner's book as she criticizes the Ludys' book for advocating passivity and inaction in pursuing a romantic relationship. I think Gardner is misinterpreting the Ludys' book, but I can't justify removing her assessment completely; she is a college professor and her expertise is in this area. Please let me know if you disagree or have any further recommendations. Once I receive the other sources I mentioned, I'd like to put the article up for an independent copyedit and nominate it for good status.

Neelix (talk) 12:44, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

Hi American Eagle,
You may be interested to know that I misinterpreted Making Chastity Sexy the first time around. I managed to get a physical copy of the book today and realized that Gardner argues the opposite of what I originally wrote in the article; Gardner doesn't write that the woman had a fractured fairy tale because she followed the Ludys' advice, but because she didn't follow the Ludys' advice. I like Gardner's evaluation a lot better now.
Neelix (talk) 00:29, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
I have added an "External links" section to the article and placed a link to Ellerslie there. I still have a few more sources coming from the library, so I'm holding off on filling out the lead and submitting the article for an independent copyedit, but I'd be glad for any other recommendations you have.
Neelix (talk) 18:40, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
Thank you for your interest in the When God Writes Your Love Story article. I have nominated the article for featured status here. I thought that, as a contributor to the article, you should be notified of the featured article candidacy. Any contributions you are willing to provide in the discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi American Eagle,
Thank you for your comments at the FAC. I have removed the image of Anne Curtis according to your suggestion and the resulting consensus. If you have anything further to add to the FAC discussion, I would appreciate your thoughts.
Neelix (talk) 15:53, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
It has been a week since there was any movement on this FAC. Do you have any remaining concerns about the article?
Neelix (talk) 19:37, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
Thank you for your continued support of this article. I have reviewed your recent edits, have reverted a couple with explanations in the edit summaries, and have addressed the two issues you raised with the inline templates. Please let me know if you have further concerns about the article or about my review of your edits. I appreciate your desire to make this article ready for the main page date. I am excited about it as well. An Ellerslie employee contacted me recently to suggest various changes to the article. If they contact you, please keep in mind that, because of Wikipedia's guidelines on conflict of interest, we cannot portray the subject of this article in a more positive light because of the recommendations of someone who has a financial connection to the subject. The article has a bare-minimum amount of negative criticism already, and Wikipedia prefers secondary sources over primary sources such as Ellerslie.
Neelix (talk) 15:25, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
I think I am misunderstanding something. What do you find incorrect about DeMoss's statement? It seems completely in line with the Ludys' book to me. The Ludys write that a single should enter a relationship because one has determined that the relationship is God's will based on the advice of a "team ... made up of godly people who can keep us accountable to our commitments, pray with us, and provide a refreshing outside perspective." I apologize if my last message made it sound as though your edits were promotional in nature; that was not my intention. You have made valuable contributions to this (and many other) articles and I hope that we will find ourselves collaborating on other articles in the future.
Neelix (talk) 19:47, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
Thanks for your help in guarding the page from vandalism today. I laughed heartily when I read your barnstar comments. You're probably right; humility is important, on Wikipedia as anywhere. Thank you very much for the encouragement.
Neelix (talk) 15:40, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi American Eagle,
Because you participated in the FAC for the When God Writes Your Love Story article, I thought that you should be notified of the article's current featured article review. Any constructive comments you would be willing to provide there would be greatly appreciated.

A tag has been placed on 168 Hour Film Project, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please don't link articles on your user page to live articles like you did with Tracy Goode. When the article is published, you can link it, but not while it's residing only on your user page. Niteshift36 (talk) 18:30, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Wow, I haven't touched that page in over 5 years. I blanked the page to avoid this problem. American Eagle (talk) 18:38, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Dajavu listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Dajavu. Since you had some involvement with the Dajavu redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 04:01, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Michigan State University College of Law, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kent County (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:37, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:20, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Notice

The file File:Facing the Giants Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Facing the Giants#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:56, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
