Objections to evolution
Hi, AE.—The article Objections to evolution ends up being mostly a criticism of those objections, as described in its talk page. Would you mind helping to clean up the article? Jchthys (talk) 02:17, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- Then again, there's been significant discussion on the talk page, and it looks like the way it is written is the way it's going to have to be. Maybe you shouldn't worry about it. Jchthys (talk) 03:42, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not too good at things like that, but I hope it goes well! God bless, TheAE talk/sign 03:49, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Good job!
Wow, you've been adding some great references to the Kirk Cameron article. I'm seriously impressed. Keep up the good work, and let me know if I can help! -- edi(talk) 04:10, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks! I really want to bring the article to GA standards, and the sourcing is a problem. There are still some sources I want to replace (like EverythingParentToday, WretchedRadio, ChristianWomenOnline, and so on), but it's coming along. You're free to help in any way you can, I'll probably be going really slowly. :) TheAE talk/sign 05:04, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I'll be adding anything I can find. GA is a totally cool goal. I'm working on getting my hands on some stuff in hopes that it'll help. Keep your fingers crossed! :) -- edi(talk) 05:11, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Wikicup?
I'm sorry if I'm bringing up this too much, but what if, after a while, if the SE Wikipedia got more members, we went through with my proposal? We won't use a bot, lol. Any suggestions to improve it? Any way I can convince the community that the Wikicup won't be useless? I want to feel that self-satisfaction of starting something good. obentomusubi 20:35, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Kirk Cameron
Hi. In your recent Edit Summary, you mentioned "hide unreliable source". I'd hate to nitpick, but the source doesn't even mention that Kirk and Chelsea met on Growing Pains. So completely apart from whether it's reliable, it just plain doesn't support the material. Just FYI. :-) Nightscream (talk) 00:54, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

- I fully agree 100%, you did a wonderful job! As I said in the review, articles that involve religion are usually very tricky and not neutral, it was refreshing seeing a neutral article! Wonderful work! CarpetCrawler (talk) 00:45, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks... I can't believe I forgot to do that when I went over that silly article with a fine-toothed comb multiple times yesterday! I guess that's why it's all about teamwork, right? :) Also... just so you know... I'm watching your work on Kirk Cameron and I'm totally impressed. I'm really confident that you're going to get the GA. What to do
About an editor who joined Wikipedia to insert conspiracy theories and immediately try to become an admin? and then sought to have me blocked for an edit that a sympathetic sysop told him was appropriate? Encouraging, rather than purging, such editors hurts the Wiki project. I will not claim to be a model editor (not yet) but I am not a recalcitrant loon. I want to discourage this editor, who seems to have no sense. Look at the editor's history...Jimintheatl (talk) 03:36, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Happy April Fools' Day! | ||
Hey, it's finally the day...! Some of you have been really anticipating it, and helping Wikipedia by preparing nonsense for the Main Page or doing other silly stuff. It's only 1 day out of 365, so us overstressed wikiholics should use the day to look at things a tad differently. ;) Have fun! Jamie☆S93 01:58, 1 April 2009 (UTC) |
Charles Spurgeon
I made some changes to the introduction to this article that revert some of your edits from 29 January here. You replaced Reformed Baptist with simply Baptist & you added "AND OTHER MENTAL ILLNESSES" to his depression. What? He was never diagnosed with depression in the first place (not many were in those days, but he had symptoms)- but I am wondering what other mental illnesses you are aware of Spurgeon having? Is this a joke or a mistake? I want to assume the best since you are an admin. Thanks.Brian0324 (talk) 13:47, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi AE, I was reverting the vandalism by 205.125.19.88. I was a bit sloppy to catch 173.73.9.176's edit as well (I guess its sort of collateral damage). But since both terms are acceptable, I decided not to restore 173.73.9.176s wording. Feel free to restore it if you want. Thanks John Sloan (view / chat) 19:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Wouldn't it make more sense to put the newest special underneath the two original ones? Especially since there's a section and table already created just for that purpose. R7604 (talk) 00:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi, AE. Do you think you’d have time to collaborate with me on this article? (The bee is quite big—national, with a $100 000 top prize, so I don’t doubt that it will meet notability requirements.)—Jchthys 01:19, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, I moved my completed version of the article to the main namespace at National Bible Bee and added links to it from Bible bee (disambiguation) and Bible quiz. Tell me if you have any suggestions.—Jchthys 21:02, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Project:Film TaskForce: Christian Film Industry Movement
Hi, I've noticed that you've been working on several pages that have to do with the growing Christian film industry movement. I'm considering proposing the creation of a task force for WikiProject:Film that would focus on this topic (Christian films, festivals, schools, people, companies, etc.); would you be interested in joining such a task force if it were created? -- Filmcom (talk) 16:28, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Write the steps of how to put my name on Jack's list of people or if you want, you could do it for me. I am also a beginner in Wikipedia! Thanks for your cooperation! Hi, American Eagle. I made a little collection of ribbons for you that you can put on your userpage instead of the (IMHO ugly) templates.

Christian films work group
Noticed you are the first signed member of the Christian films work group. Would you have any interest in maybe making a little statement in the May issue of the Christianity WikiProject newsletter regarding the new group in the "From the Members" section? I get tired of seeing my own comments there as much as anyone else does, I reckon. John Carter (talk) 13:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I was basically just thinking of doing a little introduction of the Christian films group in the "From the Members" section of the template linked to above. I acknowledge the bloody thing can be a bit of pain to find stuff in, so if you want to add it below the template, I could ultimately put it in myself. But I do like the idea of letting the members here about the group from one of its members. John Carter (talk) 18:43, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, it was actually for the Christianity WikiProject newsletter, not the Film project, so I had to adjust the opening a little. You can see it at Template:WikiProject Christianity/Outreach/May 2009, in the "From the Members" section. I hope it looks OK to you. John Carter (talk) 19:41, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your support
Unfortunately, my RFA was closed recently with a final tally of 75½/38/10. Though it didn't succeed, I wanted to thank you for your support and I hope I can count on it in the future. Even though it didn't pass, it had a nearly 2 to 1 ratio of support and I am quite encouraged by those results. I intend to review the support, oppose, and neutral !votes and see what I can do to address those concerns that were brought up and resubmit in a few months. If you would like to assist in my betterment and/or co-nominate me in the future, please let me know on my talk page. Lee Strobel: Former Atheist?
I believe you that it is claimed in a number of his books. However, that does not actually prove the assertion to be correct. A third party source is need. This is especially true when one takes into consideration that the "former atheist" claim is one of the most popular among apologetics and evangelists. Provide a source that is not related to Strobel in any way, shape, or form. Until then, the edit will be reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.30.2.242 (talk) 22:55, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
