The Shadow-Fighter
[edit]Hello, AdRock;
You're welcome. I'd seen him get reverted a few times on a couple of dinosaur articles, so I checked his talk page and saw that no one had said anything to him about those articles or why they were reverting him. Heck, it get frustrating when no one explains what's going on! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for him on the dinosaur articles. J. Spencer (talk) 16:37, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Your band genres
[edit]Alright Dada, you caught me red handed (who made up that expression anyway?), I did forget all about your love for punk. And I put folk there because you said your favorite genres went from folk to death metal (and also because you love The Indigo girls). And now I can see that you probably wouldn't want to be pop (dispite it's popularity). And I put soft rock on there because you listen to The Rainbow Press (even though they are mostly considered psychedelic rock). Seya' whenever!
The Shadow-Fighter (talk) 20:15, 27 August 2008 (UTC) (P.S. Here's proof that nobody made an article for The Rainbow Press!! I mean, they must just be a little less popular than Napalm Death!! I need somebody to create that article or I'll go mad!!!!!)
Your band genres (again)
[edit]I changed your band genres to, well, why don't you see for yourself on my user page. But I'll just tell you that I made your main genre hardcore punk and your last genre alternative rock. The Shadow-Fighter (talk) 14:30, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Userbox
[edit]Hey, nice userbox and thanks, I was planning to do one like that. BTW, that one definitively goes to my userboxes, cheers. --Kmaster (talk) 03:52, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
- Updated. Thanks. --Kmaster (talk) 04:49, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Message from WikiProject Punk music
[edit]Hello!
You may be interested to know that WikiProject Punk music has recently undergone a major revitalization. Please visit the project page to see our new look and check out some of our helpful new features, such as the Assessment Department and the Collaboration of the week. There are also a number of tasks on our Things to do page that you may be interested in helping with.
We are currently holding a roll call to help gauge how many active project members we have. Please visit the project's talk page and add your signature to the roll sheet to express your continued interest in the project. Also, if you have not already done so, please take a minute to add your name to the Participants page along with a brief summary of your punk-related interests, so that other project members will be better able to collaborate with you. If you do not add your signature to the roll sheet by November 30, 2008 your name will be moved to our list of inactive members. We may also take the liberty of removing the project userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:WikiProject Punk music members. Of course you are free to rejoin the project and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active in the project again.
Thank you and we hope you will continue to support WikiProject Punk music!
You are receiving this message because you have previously identified yourself as a member of WikiProject Punk music, either because your name appears on the Participants page or because you have placed the project userbox on your user page. As a courtesy, if you have left the project, retired from Wikipedia, or simply no longer wish to be an active project member, please remove the userbox from your user page. This will remove you from Category:WikiProject Punk music members and help the project to keep its active membership list up-to-date. |

Moving pages
[edit]Hi, AdRock. Two pages you moved recently, Hopelessly Devoted to You Vol. 1 and Hopelessly Devoted to You Vol. 5 were done incorrectly. You should never move pages by copying and pasting their contents into a new page, because it separates the page from its edit history. The reason this is a problem is because the terms of the GDFL require that all contributors be given credit for their work, which is accomplished through the edit history. By separating the two, the contributors are no longer given credit, and thus the GDFL has been invalidated. Always remember to move the page with the move button, and if there's a redirect in your way, you can list it at WP:RM so an admin can delete the redirect for you. I merged the two articles I mentioned above, so don't worry about it this time. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, either here or on my talk page. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 18:20, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Please do not insert SPAM into disambiguation pages. That edit is extremely egregious. E_dog95' Hi ' 19:53, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- It was brusque. I apologize. My presentation could easily have been more formal and respectful. Bye. E_dog95' Hi ' 05:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Meinhof
[edit]If you are really interested in Meinhof, you simply also have to read the "letzte texte" from Ulrike (don't know if translated), from Stammheim. It really is heartbreaking stuff.--Radh (talk) 17:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Shadow-Fighter
[edit]I take it your son is no longer active? --King ♣ Talk 16:50, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, he kind of lost interest, as he's become more preoccupied with video games. It's kind of a shame, although frankly he was a bit young to be messing about on here; I didn't monitor his activity closely enough, which led others to have to do it, and I had wanted to avoid that. Maybe he'll come back to it when he's older. AdRock (talk) 17:08, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- That's too bad. I found his page whilst hopping around User:Utan Vax's contribs, and saw an impressive string of genre reverts. I gotta say, he handled being called out on stuff better than most people twice his age. Hopefully he returns to the project with renewed vigor (and an itchy <ref> finger). We need more metalheads around here. (Death metal at ten? I sense a parental influence... \m/ \m/) --King ♣ Talk 17:20, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- Haha, actually my role was to bring in the punk/hardcore influence after he first got attracted to metal at age, oh, about 8. Funny you should mention that though—we're off to see AC/DC this very night! AdRock (talk) 17:33, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Cleaning up social loafing
[edit]Hello, I have attempted to wikify this article (social loafing) on which you placed a cleanup tag, well, one year ago (happy birthday Mr. cleanup tag ! :p). I'll let you judge if this is enough or if further action is required. Best regards ! --Alþykkr (talk) 15:06, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
Re:The Shadow-Fighter
[edit]Hello!
To answer your questions: Part of our duty as oversighters is to actively monitor this sort of material, and in the case of your son we received a private request on the OS mailing list. For users over the age of 13, we have a little more lee-way in requests that aren't made by the editor that it specifically relates to. The expansion of the global oversight policy has increased this lee-way even more in local and steward judgment. For users under 13, privacy law requires us to shoot first and ask questions later to maintain legality and integrity.
I had to redact the entire conversation because personal details were still in the page history, including location as well as the name. If your son would like a copy of the exchange, I'd be more than happy to email it to him or you for posterity. I know how nice it is to receive those kinds of notes :) Happy editing to you, let me know if he'd like a copy. Suppression allows us to still access the information through private logs. Keegan (talk) 03:06, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- Hello, AdRock! I noticed your message to Keegan and, to give you some more comfort, thought I'd let you know that I was the one who noticed the thread in question on your son's talk page and requested the suppression. I had left him a few messages a while ago and watchlisted his talk page in case he replied there. I haven't taken it off yet, and I happened to be online when he posted that message. I read the comment and sent off a notice to WP:OS immediately; I was worried about drawing more attention to it by editing it out myself. Fortunately, your son removed most of the identifying information soon after he posted it, so it wasn't up for long. Let me know if you have any questions! liquidluck✽talk 04:36, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about the panic attack
[edit]Hi AdRock,
Thanks for your nice note on my talk page. I so did not mean to cause you and your wife the panic attack. You are so right to be concerned, especially in this dangerous age we in which we live. It's true, I am really and truly benevolent and maternal, so much as that I was acting that way with your son without consideration of the effects. My apologies. As a parent, I can totally understand your reaction. I commend you for your quick response and redaction of his comments to me. How lucky you are for having such an intelligent, precocious little guy. Both my kids are severely developmentally disabled, so I know what I'm talking about. That's probably why I responded to him the way I did, imagining/wishing for what I didn't have. Again, I apologize.
As far as the adoption stuff goes, I dunno. I mean, I'm not an administrator, so I wouldn't be able to redact anything, although I know enough admins that I could probably make sure it happens. It is cool that Keegan caught it; one of the marvelous things about Wikipedia is that there are plenty of folks around to make sure that policies are followed, especially ones like this one, that involve kids. I'm pretty busy myself, but I enjoy mentoring other editors and would do my best to help out. The more the merrier, as they say!
I'm also not sure what Jed would think of me. I'm an old lady, and my musical tastes are very different than his. I suspect he'd think I was this fuddy-duddy. See, if I were in a band, it might even be an orchestra or sacred music choir. Or I'd be a singer in a Broadway musical, or one of the kids on Glee. My tastes are more of the classic rock/pop/American Idol type. I just may not be cool enough, doncha know! ;)
If you like, though, I'll take a look at his edits in the next few days and monitor what he does. I'll try and not be so personal with him, and stick to WP business only. Boundaries!! Let me know what you think and how I can help out. I think it's so cool that Jed is interested in contributing to the project, and it looks like with monitoring, he could be great at it. It'll also teach him some writing/researching/editing skills, which in our day and age, is so important. I'll be happy to help out any way I can. --Christine (talk) 05:30, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Stimulators
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Stimulators requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Lavalizard101 (talk) 13:26, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
