Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music/Collaboration of the month

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current Punk music Collaboration of the month is
"Bikini Kill".

The next winner will be selected on May 1, 2009.
Last month's article was Blink-182

The aim of this project is to improve the quality of Wikipedia's Punk music articles through widespread cooperative editing. It is our hope that some of these will go on to become featured articles.

Each month a Punk music Collaboration of the month will be picked using this page. The winning article will then be the focus of a group effort to improve the article. Any editor, registered or not, can help the collaboration and contribute to the monthly article. This is specifically for punk rock-related topics which are not at a good status. The article may be a stub or being worked on at the open tasks page. Any registered user can nominate an article and can vote for any one of the nominated articles. On the first day of each month, the votes are tallied. For help please see the Punk music WikiProject.

 • The current collaboration can be found here.
 • Previous collaborations can be found here.
 • Nominations that failed to meet the collaboration criteria can be found here.

Voting

[edit]

A vote of support for an article shows your commitment to support and aid in collaborating on that specific article if it is chosen. Although you are not required to fulfill that commitment, we ask that you only support articles that you are able to contribute to.

Any registered user is encouraged to vote so long as you abide by the policies of Wikipedia, specifically Wikipedia:Sockpuppets.

Please add only support votes. Opposing votes will not affect the result, as the winner is simply the one with the most support votes (see Approval voting).

To vote for a nomination, edit the nomination and add the following to the bottom of the Support section:

 1. ~~~~

This adds your username and a time stamp to the numbered list item. The vote will look like this:

 1. Username 11:00, 21 Feb 2006 (UTC)

If you wish to withdraw your vote, do not remove your vote; instead, add an asterisk and strike-through tags to your vote as shown: #* <s>Username 11:00, 21 Feb 2006 (UTC)</s> This allows Wikipedia to correctly calculate the remaining votes and will appear like this:

 1. Username 8:00, 21 Feb 2006 (UTC)
 2. Username 2:00, 22 Feb 2006 (UTC)

Ties

[edit]

In case of a tie, voting will be extended for 24 hours. If there is still a tie, the candidate that was nominated first wins. During the extended voting period the old collaboration of the month should still be active.

How to nominate an article

[edit]
Note to contributors:

To add a new nomination, please:

(1) Copy the template below
(2) Paste it at the bottom of the list of nominations
(3) Replace "Date" with the correct date and "Date + 1 month" with the date, plus one month. For both, the year is not necessary.
(4) Replace "Comments" with your comments for why the article should be nominated.
(5) Please preview your addition to make it sure all information is properly filled in and the links are working.
article name
:Nominated Date; needs 3 votes by Date + 1 month (minimum 3 votes per month)
Comments --~~~~

Support:

How to express support

[edit]

To express your support for a nominated article, place the following code underneath Support:

#~~~~ – Comments

Replacing "Comments" with any comments you would like to make in support of the article. There is no need to add your signature, as the code ~~~~ will do this automatically.
