Please always add an edit summary

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Information icon Hello, I'm Fowler&fowler. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Mahatma Gandhi have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 17:26, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Fowler&fowler. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Jawaharlal Nehru have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Please note that your edits, which you make directly to the lead, do not reflect the summary style. They are moreover, generally undue. Please read WP:Lead fixation, and I mean this sincerely, not presumptuously. Best, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 08:01, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
@Fowler&fowler I'd recommend taking this to ANI for sanctions. APPU is already notified of discretionary sanctions for exactly these kind of edits. — DaxServer (talk to me) 09:05, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

DS/Alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Template:Indian patronymic, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please do not change templates with discussing and reaching a consensus — DaxServer (talk to me) 17:17, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to List of nicknames of the prime ministers of India. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Please do not add your opinions. All opinionated content must be attributed. See WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV — DaxServer (talk to me) 07:31, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Please read thru the sanctions page above and do not add unattributed POV to articles like you did at [1], [2] and do not add breaking changes to templates without consensus [3]. — DaxServer (talk to me) 17:15, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Template:Indian patronymic, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not change the format of the template without consensus — DaxServer (talk to me) 15:55, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Indira Gandhi. David Biddulph (talk) 17:24, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Postal stamps

Is there any specific reason to remove the postal stamp image in Periyar's infobox constantly? The postal stamp is the most clear image we got that focuses clearly on the subject and it looks more decent than any other images, see M. G. Ramachandran, C. N. Annadurai. Please don't change this anymore with out any solid reason. Thanks - SUN EYE 1 16:16, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

Page move warning

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you move a page disruptively again, as you did at Vallabhbhai Patel, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You were perfectly aware of the fact that there was a consensus against moving Vallabhbhai Patel, yet you decided to move it. Another such move and you may find yourself blocked. I'm giving you this single warning, mindful of the long history of disruption on your part.kashmīrī TALK 16:15, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion templates

Please stop tagging articles with a generic CSD template. You are using the reason as "overlooked" and "non notable", which do not meet any current speedy deletion criteria. If you believe notability is a concern, please take the article through the Articles for Deletion process.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:01, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Note that your CSD nomination of Harvey Oberfeld as "Extremely overlooked and unimportant article. No notability whatsoever", which is quite obviously not the case, leads to me consider whether you should be making any speedy deletion nominations.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:09, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
I second this. APPU, you are still relatively new here, and while you are still learning the ropes, maybe you shouldn't be adding any deletion nominations just now as you don't seem to understand the criteria. Instead of adding the {{Delete}} template as you have done recently at seven articles (all since reverted), please read about WP:Notability, and about the Articles for deletion procedure. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me at my Talk page. Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 20:43, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar

Information icon Hello, I'm Fowler&fowler. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Please note: as in Mahatma Gandhi, a short sentence about "Veer" being an honorific can be added later in the lead and boldfaced, but it can't be a part of his name. Notice

The article Phrases popularised by Narendra Modi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

What is this article even about?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TrangaBellam (talk) 18:25, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

It is modelled on List_of_nicknames_used_by_Donald_Trump and List_of_nicknames_used_by_George_W._Bush. The article is about the words coined and popularised by Narendra Modi. There are not less than several tens of them, but I for the time being could add only 6-7. https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/abcd-to-epi-modi-s-wordplay-continues/story-nzw191VYraFko1K1sL33CK.html https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/catchy-acronyms-their-masters-pm-modis-art-of-communicating/articleshow/68435281.cms?from=mdr https://www.business-standard.com/article/opinion/beyond-alliteration-the-pm-s-knack-for-acronyms-and-economic-realities-120061201183_1.html https://www.news18.com/news/opinion/aandolanjeevi-and-an-evil-fdi-pm-modis-wordplay-exposed-the-sinister-game-plan-of-those-fuelling-farmers-protests-3410450.html His coining of new words, acronyms or basically his wordplay skills are a part of his rheotoric. If this not notable, I wish it be deleted. I may choose to not remove the delete template by myself. Appu (talk) 18:41, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
