EndUN Userbox
Hi, you recently participated in the Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:DieWeisseRose/Userboxes/EndUN discussion. I have reluctantly submitted the closing statement by User:Tony Sidaway for deletion review. Please consider taking a look at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2007_July_1#User:DieWeisseRose.2FUserboxes.2FEndUN. Thanks. --DieWeisseRose 02:58, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Stewart Surfboards
I didn't get the message about it being up for deletion until now. I'd like to "assert" its notability, and recreate it. How exactly do I do that? Pinky 06:09, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- I read through it, and I think Stewart Surfboards is notable enough. Do I need to give you, or an admin links to websites that I think establish it as notable? If you search for it on Google, you can also find several sites mentioning Stewart Surfboards. Thanks, Pinky 03:09, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Love.Angel.Music.Baby
I might not be able to look after Love.Angel.Music.Baby's FAC process much as my exams are near. I know you are the father of the article. So can you please cater to the oppositions. I know you yourself have some. But can you deal with the problems which people have with the part you have written. Thank you so much. I will try to look after the article too. Thanks a ton. I am not forcing you. It's completely your choice. User:Luxurious.gaurav
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! It failed FAC. I am sooooo disheartened. User:Luxurious.gaurav
Just a question. Do you find selection of Featured articles through voting as the only criteria to be just? I mean, of course people should be asked, but i have seen in FA discussions of many articles in which they Object for no reason. And when asked about the reason, they say "My wish". Something similar happened with Taj Mahal if i can recall. Not sure. I will search for examples. Luckily this didnt happen with L.A.M.B. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I see. I had one more doubt. I am not able to interpret what is meant by Love.Angel.Music.Baby being a wide-eyed article. Can you elaborate on this point. And is Wonderful Life (Gwen Stefani song) the next single? User:Luxurious.gaurav
Ah, so something like a Gwen Stefani fan who has got excited by the facts about L.A.M.B and put it in the article in excitement in an informal manner. But i try my best to make out where the article lags behind. The only thing i could find was wide eyed. But can you please tell me a brilliant album article which is FA so that i can come to know where L.A.M.B has to cope up. And also, i am shocked by the number of discussions people are having on talk sites about wonderful life being the fourth single. It's a huge rumour. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I am talking about blog sites. I even scrutinised some discussions, but all are just saying. No one is scourcing. I think it's because Rolling Stone had said that it wants Gwen to release it as a single. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I can't keep it to myself anymore. But Californication is no better than Love.Angel.Music.Baby, yet it is FA. It makes me feel horibbly sad. Some things get what they don't deserve. Californication is like salt on my wounds. Well, my bad luck.User: Luxurious.gaurav
I have put up as much information on the album's impact on popular music as i could. So now can you please give some finishing touches to the section. Thanks! User:Luxurious.gaurav
Does L.A.M.B require a section for album cover. I was going through some FA album articles like Adore and i saw a section dealing with the album cover. So should there be one for L.A.M.B too? User:Luxurious.gaurav
So you will be adding in the article about Gwen saying that she had plans of releasing the albu under the pseudonym GS? And hehe, got to see how u look. Totally different from what i expected. I had wild imaginations. Gosh! User:Luxurious.gaurav
So, is the article done or still something more is needed. And is there any rule talking about the time gap between the previous failed FA nomination and new nomination? And yes, when is the "Current single Status" removed from a song article? User:Luxurious.gaurav
HeHe..I am doing a lot of campaigning for article's support. Luxurious.gaurav 10:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
oooooh...i c...luckily i told only those editors who participated in the previous nomination. I will clean up the mess. Done that! Deleted all the mess. So came to know you are going on wikibreak. I hope you are able to see L.A.M.B at FA. And how do we come to know the total number of edits i have made from day1? Luxurious.gaurav 17:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I have seen many a times that those people who nominate an article for Featured status themselves vote (of course in support). So is it allowed? And from where do we come to know oficially which will be the next single from The Sweet Escape. Or else excited fans won't stop putting up "Now That You Got It" in the article. Luxurious.gaurav 04:49, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
The "Now That You Got It" rumour has reached No Doubt site. http://nodoubtweb.com/wordpress/?cat=25 (look at extremely end of the article) Let's see where it goes. Luxurious.gaurav 11:29, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah! Its there. Great Job. Congrats. Luxurious.gaurav 08:17, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Should we add to the article that the album ended up being the 7th highest selling album of 2005? http://www.mediatraffic.de/albums-2005.htm Luxurious.gaurav 13:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
This sounds really ambiguous. Rock Steady sold 3 million worldwide and was certified triple platinum in U.S. So did it sell no albums in the other parts of the world. I have a copy myslef! Luxurious.gaurav 08:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
This was obvious- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Now_that_you_got_it I knew someone will make the page. This rumour has made me also listen the song 10 times a day. I am brainwashed. Luxurious.gaurav 16:25, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Hey Drew! So what are you working on currently? And what do you think about a Wikiproject for No Doubt and Gwen Stefani? And how to remove Luxurious from Peer Review list? Luxurious.gaurav 17:17, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
http://www.rt100.ro/top-100-edition.html You have to see this. Look at position number 64. i was shocked too! Gwen Stefani feat. Damien Marley :- Now That you Got It has charted! And it has a catalogue number also! which i think only singles have! Luxurious.gaurav 14:46, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Prince
You removed "award winning" citing WP:NPOV, but as Prince has won awards this means he is award winning. There is nothing in NPOV or WTA that suggests award winning is a point of view, it is more a statement of fact. Darrenhusted 15:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Listing awards is important, look at Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep, their intros do nothing but list awards. You quoted NPOV in removing it, there is nothing under NPOV I could see which backs that up. He has won at least a Grammy and Oscar, and for me that would cover award winning. Orphaned non-free image (Image:AllGoodThingsVideo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:AllGoodThingsVideo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:47, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Question about Peter Canavan
Hey, the following is from Lara Love's talkpage, but since she is on a break I thought I'd ask you because you reviewed fair use images for her earlier I had seen.
I have a DVD of the 2005 All-Ireland final. If I vidcapped a good shot of Peter Canavan from it (such as when he meets the President of Ireland, which is a tradition for the All-Ireland finals), would it be sufficient for the infobox?? And would it be within protocol to just vidcap a shot of every player that played on the day and use it for their profile infoboxes (such as Brian Dooher who was the captain, and therefore lifted the trophy? --Macca7174 19:36, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- PS. I'll second the barnstar for Good Article reviews, having experienced how thorough you are with them.--Macca7174 19:38, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I'll have to check some policies. I have to go to work now, I'll look tonight. LaraLoveT/C 19:47, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Anyway, I haven't had a reply, so I went ahead and uploaded this; Image:Canavan goal cropped.png. The quality is worse than I had expected, but I uploaded it more as a test subject. Is there any info missing that you need to assess its eligibility? Preferably I would want it to be eligible for use on Peter Canavan's infobox (or a better vidcap).--Macca7174talk 17:51, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the image can't be used. WP:NONFREE states that pictures of living people can't be used to illustrate what the person looks like (with the rare exception of recluses like Osama bin Laden or J. D. Salinger). The image will need to be tagged with {{rfu}} or {{orfud}} and be deleted after a week, unless you'd like to tag it with {{db-author}} for speedy deletion. I found a picture of Canavan with Sam Maguire on Flickr. The image is copyrighted, but if you'd like, I can send a FlickrMail to the uploader to see if he'd be willing to release it under a free license. ShadowHalo 18:18, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- How about if I got a shot of him meeting the President of Ireland as part of the pre-match traditions?? Would that be considered historically significant?
- The picture on Flickr includes a non-notable individual—would it be suitable?? The Sam Maguire you refer to is the cup in the picture, not the person, in case there was any confusion there. If it is suitable, then yeh, it would be cool if you could ask him. Cheers.
- Finally, on a similar note, would the second picture in this BBC webgallery be sufficient for Cormac McAnallen, since he died in 2004??--Macca7174talk 19:36, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- :Haha, I should have looked at the birth and death years in the Sam Maguire article. Easily fixed though. Any free license allows derivative works, meaning that the image could be cropped (and the perspective could be adjusted; note how all the vertical lines in the picture get closer at the top, making Canavan look tilted). I'll see if the Flickr user will release it freely. Regarding the picture for Cormac McAnallen, that's a good question. I've seen disagreement on the issue before. It's not replaceable in the sense that you can take a new picture, but I've seen some people argue that it's possible for someone who has taken a picture of the individual to release one freely. I'd recommend asking at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content or Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. ShadowHalo 20:17, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- I changed the fair use rationale, based on Image:Godfather15.jpg. Does it make a difference, and if not, would it be viable for the Cormac McAnallen picture I mentioned. Also, could I point out Image:Denis Law signs for Manchester United.JPG, and ask how it differs from the Canavan picture?? Cheers for your help.--Macca7174talk 20:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Re: He Ya!
Oh heck, I had forgotten , thanks for the reminder. As I have no other problems with the page I'll support. Gran2 07:21, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:ATC.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ATC.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 13:02, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Kafee Ahmed
Hi! http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kafeel_Ahmed&diff=143175967&oldid=143072051 - I am a newb, can you explain to me why this image has been removed? It is all over the web and alll over media. Did I make a mistake when I uploaded it? I *think* it should be fair use. DrippingGoofball 13:49, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use?
Hi Drew, would Image:Mugshot 50-Cent-a.jpg qualify under fair use for the 50 Cent article? I've tagged it for a speedy at Commons because it's not licensed under the U.S. federal government. I looked at Image:Hilton mug shot.jpeg and someone made an argument that it's already clear from the prose that she went to jail and that an image doesn't add significantly to it. What's your take on this? Spellcast 21:50, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Album articles can't be made A Clas??? I could see just 2 album articles in the whole wikipedia which are A Class. User:Luxurious.gaurav
The WikiProject
Hello 17Drew, thanks for informing me about the WikiProject. The trouble is, I know very, very little about WikiProjects, and my work in the pop music articles isn't content addition (in fact, I've barely added any content here on Wikipedia; a lot of my work has been improving existing content and correcting formatting, as well as removing vandalism, unsourced material, nonsense, and errors). However, if you want someone in the WikiProject who does that, then I'll put my username down. I'm not "saying no", I'm telling you about what I do, and if what I do is any use to your WikiProject. Acalamari 23:15, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've put my username down; the least I can do is help get the WikiProject started by giving it some support. Acalamari 23:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Question
Just wanted to ask whether the idea of a certification table for Love.Angel.Music.Baby is a good. It seems i will easily get all the certification of all major countries. User:Luxurious.gaurav

Are we allowed to put whatever we want on pages? like I want shut up and drive and umrella to be #1 everywhere and i put that in the articles. is that ok??? please reply..thanks
Question! Please guide
How to nominate an article for A-Class. Can you pleeeeeease tell the procedure. Please reply soon. Thanks a ton! User:Luxurious.gaurav
And what if i want to nominate a song article. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I was thinking of nominating Wind it Up for A Class. I know it does not match the status of Hollaback Girl , but i want to know what is the thing that makes them different. So i thaught an A Class nomintation will give me an idea. User:Luxurious.gaurav
You have to see this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:A-Class_song_articles I am scared. What is my name doing there. User:Luxurious.gaurav
No problems. I was scared and then i was laughing on how can my talk page be an A Class song article. And why is Hey Ya! taking so much time. I am waiting very anxiously for the result. Though it is clear it will become FA , but why is it taking time. I nominated Love.Angel.Music.Baby after you nominated Hey Ya! and i got the saddening result much before you. What is the matter? User:Luxurious.gaurav
And yes, does this article deserve to be a good article also? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Joins_The_JAMs And at one point, some editors were thinking of nominating it for FAC as you can see it in the talk page. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I had added some info to the Wind it up chart section and its mysteriously gone. I am trying to find whether someone has edited it but i am unsuccessful. User:Luxurious.gaurav
I see. I never knew that Chartrigger was a blog. Thanks a ton. And what will you work on after Hey Ya! User:Luxurious.gaurav
Nonfree image removal
Hi Drew, just curious as to why you removed the crowded house images that were in the templates? The policy says it, sure, but it's a policy that doesn't need to be adhered as the law is the primary policy. It's simply a guideline (though toted as a policy), however centrally in wikipedia, the policies are actually guidelines to give direction, but really, one can do anything with fair use images if there's a reasonable explanation for their use according to fair use/nonfree media laws. And of course, WP:IAR rules out the policies as it's the first rule. --lincalinca 08:56, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject
Is there any wikiproject related to Gwen Stefani or No Doubt. If there isnt, then don't you think there should be one. There are quite a good number of editors who are into stefani related articles. But i think No Doubt needs more attention. So a wikiproject might help No Doubt articles. User:Luxurious.gaurav
"Irreplaceable" talk page
Hi, I wanted to know why you deleted my comment about the "male version" of Beyoncé's Irreplaceable off of it's talk page? I mean, it doesn't seem like a "minimal discussion of music" since Beyoncé herself is actually implementing musical elements of this parody into her Beyoncé Experience performances of the song. an example. Also, just about every other performance of the song on youtube features the same elements.
I was merely suggesting that the information about the "parody" (I don't know about using that word, it might actually be serious) be incorporated into the article the same way the "No Pigeons" information was incorporated into TLC's "No Scrubs" article (""No Scrubs" was parodied in a song by Sporty Thievz titled 'No Pigeons'.") or better yet, the same way the "No Billz (Why, Why, Why) info was incorporated into Destiny's Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills article ("hip hop group Sporty Thievz famously recorded a rebuttal to this TLC hit entitled "No Pigeons" and would later go on to record a rebuttal to "Bills Bills Bills", entitled "No Billz (Why, Why, Why)". Not only that, Sporty Thievz along with a female rapper known as Jazz were featured on the main remix of Bills, Bills, Bills produced by the Trackmasters."). And yes, I am aware that there is a lack of info about the song; I SAID I couldn't find any. It was a REQUEST for others who might be better at finding info to try to look themselves.
Simple. Ian-sama 10:48, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
It was not vandalism
Huge Congratulations
Congrats so much for Hey Ya! and Gwen Stefani Discography. So now Stefani has 6 FA Class articles. I hope L.A.M.B is the 7th. User:Luxurious.gaurav
In Gwen's discography, the song Candyland is not mentioned anywhere. It's neither in the unreleased songs nor in the tracklistings of both the albums. User:Luxurious.gaurav
But at least the song should be mentioned somewhere. Songs which were never released have a mention in the article but a partially released song does not have mention. And any success in getting exact sales of The Sweet Escape? Some guy seems to be behind me as i remove 2.9 million sales from the article everytime he puts it. User:Luxurious.gaurav

Early Scooby Doo character designs
I have the DVD that contains that screenshot and it's amazing to see how much the character designs changed from the original concept to the actual designs for the series. For one thing Shaggy and Velma's predecessors look completely different, heck Velma doesn't even have glasses. Also, i'm curious if anyone owns the names and rights to the original character names from when the show was called Mysteries Five. Plus it would be interesting to see what the original character designs would look like in color so they could be compared to the actual Scooby Doo characters.(Scoobyfan1 17:56, 17 July 2007 (UTC))
I see you left a message on this user's talk page about an image they uploaded. Well, I would like to inform you that I am sure this user is a sockpuppet Jimmjet89 (talk · contribs) and Jimjet89 (talk · contribs). Jimmjet89 was blocked by Luna Santin and then by MaxSem, and I blocked Jimjet89. The edits and name of all three users are very similar; uploading unsourced images with no status to certain music articles. He seems to go from one account to the next, even thought his first two accounts aren't blocked indefinitely. I thought I'd inform you of this. Also, since you can view deleted content, I do suggest you take a look at the file and page history of Special:Undelete/Image:Rihannashutup.jpg. Thanks. Acalamari 21:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome; the user doesn't seem to respond to any messages though. With images, he doesn't add any rationales at all, despite the fact he's been told countless times to read the policy. It's likely, if keeps up his old editing pattern, he will end up getting blocked again. What's worse is that, looking through the contributions of all three accounts, he's done quite a lot of good edits too; it's just they are all not seen due to his image violations. :( Acalamari 22:11, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Concerns
Should video for '"Serious" be mentioned in the Gwen's Dicography article. It's video was directed by Sophie Muller i suppose. But the video was not released but got leaked (i know you know that). A special section for Serious video called "Unreleased videos" would not be a good idea. So what should be done?
Candyland- Gwen Stefani feat. Pharrel Williams is a song which is not mentioned anywhere in the Discography article. Unreleased songs have been mentioned in the article but a partially released song like candyland is not mentioned.
Should there be a section in Love.Angel.Music.Baby talking about the album cover. I was just going through FA Class Album articles and i came across Adore and i saw a section on album cover. User:Luxurious.gaurav

Can you please merge the references 11 and 13 in Luxurious. I don't know how to do it. Thanks a lot. And is Answers.com a reliable scource? User:Luxurious.gaurav
hehe..It's a result of unawareness. Once i put the tidles and my user name, IP address and date, all three came. Well, now i have started signing. Luxurious.gaurav 17:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I saw on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Assessment#The_A-class that even if one editor feels that an article is of A-Class, he can rate it A Class. So i have made Luxurious A-Class. And shockingly, even a radio station in my country is telling that "Now That You Got It" is a new "Hot song" and they play it atleast 2 times a day. Who knows! Luxurious.gaurav 07:22, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Stefani Controversy
Any opinion on Gwen Stefani controversy? Being from SoCal myself, I can tell you she has alienated most of her old fan base who love ska and old No Doubt. Most old-school ska/punk fans consider her a sellout of the highest order. Should this be referenced on her home page? http://www.thedaily.washington.edu/article/2007/1/4/gwenStefaniTheSweetEscape

WBFAN
Hi - I noticed the bot basically undid this edit. If you change your username in the source lists (e.g. Wikipedia:Featured articles nominated in 2007) the bot will reflect this change back into WBFAN (what it does is read the source lists and generate WBFAN, pretty much every day). -- Rick Block (talk) 01:05, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Shoessss, that comment wasn't referring to you. I'm a little confused as to why you're bringing up the fact that AfD is not a vote. The comments above yours were more votes than actual comments. Regarding the review, that's definitely a step in the right direction. But an article needs multiple sources to be considered notable. One source does not make a subject notable, much less all three. Because the albums are compilations, it's incredibly unlikely that there are sources that cover any of the major aspects of an album: recording/production, style/themes, and sales. 17Drew 23:02, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hey 17Drew, I’m sorry for getting pissy, you are right. The comments are not directed at me. Call it a long day – fingers typing before brain engages, or what ever. No matter the outcome, I am happy to say it does not effect my paycheck. Once again, have a great day, and "Yes" I do appreciate your efforts here at Wikipedia Shoessss | Chat 00:10, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
re: I've restored the {{plot}} tag. The purpose of a Plot section is not to describe the entire plot; it's to give context for the rest of the article. Take a look at War and Peace, which is twice the length of a Harry Potter book and still has a much shorter synopsis. 17Drew 17:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- I get your meaning, but what's there is really giving away too much already for something this young. It'll only get worse as more people catch up with the reading end of things, and I'm totally amazed this much is already up. Hence a short cryptic sense by chapters makes more sense to me so we can for a while police plot give-aways. Encyclopediac revelations and links in depth can follow. I'd rather see a whitewashed skeletal treatment for now. Chapter by chapter seems the best way to manage the editing for that for a while. This kind of detail only ruins it for the little people I'd rather encourage an appetite for literature in. Best wishes// FrankB 18:13, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Valid screenshot
Hi Drew, a quick question. Would this screenshot, Image:50cent piggy bank music video screenshot.JPG (assuming it wasn't high resolution), be valid on the 50 Cent article, specifically this section: 50 Cent#New York rappers? I question whether there's really enough critical commentary to justify this pic. Spellcast 20:41, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
re: removed list of killed characters, any important deaths should be contained in the plot summary as prose)
- I've seen a number of requests in forums for a list of people who died in Deathly Hallows. It's also one of the most common questions that came up with fans last night at the Harry Potter launch party. Given the demand for this list, it feels newsworthy to me. Is there a wiki guideline behind why you removed the list? Kanamekun 20:58, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
re: Lists should only be used when prose is not a suitable way to present the information. Prose is by far the best way to discuss events in the plot.
- I was not trying to discuss events in the plot. I was making a newsworthy list of the major deaths in the book, not suggesting a list of FAQ's or a list of statistics. I looked around a bit, and found this other Harry Potter page with a similar list [1]. Do you have a link to a Wikipedia policy that addresses this directly? If not, I will revert and restore the list... or we could move this to the Talk area of the article
re: Continued removal of list of deaths: the list of deaths serves as an EASY-TO-READ guide. it is useful for at-a-glance viewing and contains details that are not in the prose. you may not find such details important; others do. Jimm 89 00:19, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Spoiler Tag
All I have to say is that the whole article is fit for a spoiler tag, and I was just trying to reach a compromise without people whining that there is no warning, and without a certain other editor typing out a warning not to put up a spoiler tag up and not to read the next section if you're going to read the book while misspelling "Do not", which really happened. - Hairchrm 02:09, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah. You're probably right. - Hairchrm 02:17, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Deathly Hallows death list

Non-free use disputed for Image:Bill_Drummond_at_the_1992_Brits_Awards.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Bill_Drummond_at_the_1992_Brits_Awards.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 21:54, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Sophomore
Hey Drew, would you consider the term "sophomore album" (as opposed to second) to be too US-centric or do you think it's fine either way? I noticed on Wind It Up (Gwen Stefani song), you used the term "second solo album". I'm asking because WP:MUSTARD was recently changed to allow "sophomore album" if it's wikilinked. I just want to get a wider response from people who edit music articles so there can be a more firm concensus on this term. Spellcast 10:09, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
My only opposition to the term is that some people may not know what it means. I just prefer to use terms than anyone can understand, which is why I think "second album" should be used. Anyway, if the jargon is explained in sophomore album, I suppose it's alright. Spellcast 17:45, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:DestinysChild.jpg.

Re: Youtube
Feel free to put the Youtube links that are not copyright violations back. I was simply cleaning up after TBSfan1223, who has added several hundred Youtube links without explanation. I'd assume that many of them are copyright violations - the user has many warning messages about that on their talk page. I will go on to do something else. Also, as an experienced editor, I don't appreciate being given warning messages designed for inexperienced users - see Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars for some insight on that. Anyways you obviously know more about this than I do so I'll let you do any more cleanup needed - I can do a mass-rollback on my edits if I know which ones to mass-rollback on. I actually found that you corrected a Youtube link in a page history - I forget which one - but I wasn't sure why that link needed to be there. Sorry for probs, Graham87 08:20, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yikes, it would have helped if I had read YouTube #Media recognition before going on the deletion spree. I checked the YouTube article several times under "Copyright infringement" and found nothing relevant. Thanks for even considering this.--Esprit15d 15:55, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Does this help?--Esprit15d 16:11, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
- Some editor (other than me) wrote in the article "The chord progression is "1-6m-4-1 - 5-6m-4-1" and, in the case of "Waiting on the World to Change", is in the key of D." If that means anything to you, then visually demonstrate that. If it doesn't, then go ahead and do the first two bars, as you suggested.--Esprit15d 16:40, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:FergaliciousVideo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:FergaliciousVideo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
The musical section looks good! Great work. Concerning the United World Chart, it was originally directly sourced from one of the references which chronicled a great number of worldwide charts; after it went offline (unfortunately), I was unable to find another reliable source, so perhaps we'll have to remove it unless there's another method we can access. I have no memory of the German Singles Chart, whether I'd added it or not, but perhaps I could locate it online. Velten 16:29, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

- Hehe... no :D That was a weird way of me saying how, as could be the case with a hypothetical Aaliyah duets album, an entire song could be put together using old/unreleased recordings of her voice — Madonna's "Take Me" is a fan-made mash-up of various clips from her songs and audio books! I don't know why, but I'm addicted to it; if you don't think I've finally gone off the mental deep end by now, you can look for it on Google or YouTube (I don't know if I can link to it here) by searching for Madonna Take Me.

Copyright
Do not take it too serious. But I am the owner of hyphen and arrow copyright in the same way as EOM owns copyrights of Bob Dylan´s lyrics.--Pjotr Morgen 23:16, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I have to apologize. I really mistook the "rm" for "my" after having some drinks (at least 2 or 3 too much!). Anyhow, I think it is a pity that for some great songs it is not possible to show all the lyrics. I don´t think that less copies of the records would be sold, if such a text is available on the WP. Thanks for your patience, despite my aggressiveness.--Pjotr Morgen 18:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Shut Up and Drive/Don't Stop the Music covers
Hi ShadowHalo! I've realized that Bestuevermet has uploaded several single covers that exceeded the resolution recommended by WP:FU. You have tagged one of his covers, and I was wondering if you could tag the others. Here's the list:

Question about Images
I'm relatively a new editor and I'm still a little unclear about using images properly. I have a couple of questions and I wonder if you could help me.
First, you recently marked Image:P11 kasparov breakout.jpg for speedy deletion, and I hope it wasn't because of something I did. I added this image to my rewrite of History of artificial intelligence, by copying the reference from Artificial intelligence. Is there something I should have done when adding this image to a second article?
Second, when I first started editing, I uploaded some images that I probably shouldn't have, and I can't find them again. Is there a way to list all the images I uploaded?
Thanks for your help. ---- CharlesGillingham 06:12, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Computer Chess
Hi, I added a fair use rationale for computer chess as you requested. However my efforts resulted in a rather ugly page. I hoped that somebody would fix it, but rather it has been removed. Can you take a look? Thanks. Sander123 13:55, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Christina Aguilera Singles
Hi! What i add is official and not my imagination. Just Greek website for IFPI charts does not has a history page of old charts so i can show you that Ain't No Other Man ... the link is www.ifpi.gr I had added a link of a website that it's about Christina's singles & albums and their positions in the charts of all the countries.. You can also see there that ANOM peaked at number 23 in Greek Singles Charts.--Chronisgr 22:40, 28 August 2007 (UTC) IFPI Greece does not hold history of the charts so i doubt if your find it there but it did peaked at number 23. By the way i cannot understand how New Zealand can be bigger than Greece.. About Candyman's peak in Italian Singles Chart: the single did peak at #8.. Also you should better look at Beyonce's Irreplaceable page to see what's going on there... Many charts with no sources and maaaany fake positions like the one i'm sure(Greek Singles Chart at number 1!!!) --Chronisgr 21:01, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
