[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Bankura horse into Arts of West Bengal. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:39, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your earnest advice. I'll keep it mind. বাক্যবাগীশ (talk) 16:03, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The requirements explained above also apply when translating from another language Wikipedia, such translating bn:বাণীকুমার to Bani Kumar. In addition to an edit summary such as Content in this edit is translated from the existing Bangla Wikipedia article at bn:বাণীকুমার; see its history for attribution, you should also add the template {{Translated|bn|বাণীকুমার}} to the talk page. Please see Wikipedia:Translation for further details. --John B123 (talk) 15:15, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Music of West Bengal, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 20:14, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dl2000: please notice that I used the "Music of West Bengal" template. I think when I used the "Music of West Bengal" template then the "Music of India" template is unnecessary.
"Music of West Bengal" content all the musical fact of West Bengal. So, please give your earnest activity.

Thanks. বাক্যবাগীশ (talk) 01:15, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The main {{Indian music}} sidebar has a link which refers to each region's music article, including Music of West Bengal, therefore it is not good practice to remove this template. Your edit also removed material not related to these templates. You may also want to consider setting up the {{Music of West Bengal}} templaste as a "navbox" for the bottom rather than the current use as a "sidebar". Dl2000 (talk) 03:05, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from elsewhere online. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Ways to improve Manasa chali

[edit]

Hi, I'm Rosguill. বাক্যবাগীশ, thanks for creating Manasa chali!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. It is unclear if this article's subject meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline. The easiest way to demonstrate notability and protect this article from deletion is to provide citations to multiple independent, reliable, secondary sources that discuss the subject in depth.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Prafulla Chandra Ray, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mercury (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Prof. S N De (right) with Sir Roy Cameron, Londdon, 1962.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Prof. S N De (right) with Sir Roy Cameron, Londdon, 1962.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 7 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

I don't understand why you reverted the edits in Nabadwip Wikipage without seeing the facts.
  • I used the book reference Chaitanya Charitamrita, but you removed this book reference, saying the issue of WP:RS.(For your information, Chaitanya Charitamrita is one of the most primary biographies detailing the life and contribution of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu). And it is no doubt WP:RS.
  • I used the multiple image template. This was reverted by you without any reason.
  • I fixed the problem (File:Nabadwip somaj bari nrisingha mandir bigroho.jpg & File:নটকনা বা সাতকরা.jpg, this two image was coded badly) in the section of Festival of Nabadwip wikipedia.
  • There were no references in Etymology part. I used reference and added some importent information. But unfortunately this also was reverted.
  • I fixed some typo, but this also was reverted. you added deleted image, but why I realy don't know. বাক্যবাগীশ (talk) 04:56, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your recent edits on the above article - thank you for expanding it and adding more sources. I just wanted to flag two things. First, in several places you unnecessarily duplicated information already present in the article. In some cases you added sentences describing events which were already described one or two paragraphs above, and in others you specified unnecessarily things which the reader would already know, eg:

On 18 August, The Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of the rape and murder of a doctor in RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata

In that instance you could just say "took suo motu cognisance of the case", since readers know what article they're reading.

Secondly, there were one or two places in which your edits included editorial commentary. Eg:

Coinciding with India’s Independence Day, the timing of the march keeps a stern reminder the women in India are still fighting for their freedoms and emancipation

That's expressing an opinion. It's an opinion I very much agree with you on, but it isn't the kind of commentary we can include in an article, unless it's being attributed to/quoted from a person or group.

Just wanted to flag those for future reference. Thanks. AntiDionysius (talk) 22:26, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll keep the points in mind from now on...Thanks and regards. বাক্যবাগীশ (talk) 22:33, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
