Sir Geoff
[edit]Hiya,
Unfortunately I've been a bit busy and haven't done much around here for a while. I'll try and pop back as often as I can and have a look, and am willing to copyedit/read through any work you do, but don't seem to have any reliable time to do any editing for myself at the moment.
However, if I can find another hour in the day, I'll have a look!
Let me know if you want anything checking...
Hope you are well, –MDCollins (talk) 23:27, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Images
[edit]Images of modern players are harder to source than the older players; most of what I have uploaded are PD, which in Australia is pre-1955, but I don't know the rules in the UK. There are two pics of Boycott batting in the 65-6 Ashes series at [1] and [2]. However, they are not very good ones but if you apply for permission for GFDL use, in all likelihood you will get them. Another suggestion is to upload a low-res scan of one of Boycott's book covers, discuss the book in the text and claim fair use for the image - easy to do considering Boycott's controversial writing & commentary. This was done for Ian Chappell and received no objection at FAC.

WP:LE Barnstar Proposal
[edit]Hi SGGH :) as you know, my barnstar proposal has been sitting on the WP:LE talk page for about a week now, and I am asking your permission as project coordinator to go ahead and set up a consensus poll in which all project members would be invited to participate in to decide wither or not to make the Barnstar the official Barnstar of our project, the poll would run for two weeks, and when the two weeks were up, you would have the final decision of wither or not the proposal has achieved consensus, and as such you or another project coordinator could close the poll as successful or un-successful. If you have a better way to decide wither or not to make the Barnstar official, I am open to suggestions. Thank you, --Mifter (talk) 19:16, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, I have created Template:WP:LE Barnstar Prop to distribute to every member of the project, and I also have created Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Law Enforcement/Barnstar Proposal for the poll itself. If you want to change the wording of the template before I start distributing in you are more then welcome too, just tell me when I have the Ok to start distributing the template and then I'll make sure it gets to every member of the project, and you are also more than welcome to change the layout or content of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Law Enforcement/Barnstar Proposal to make it look, perform better. Thanks,--Mifter (talk) 19:52, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Also, if you chose not to use Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Law Enforcement/Barnstar Proposal you are more than welcome to just delete it and use the Main Project talk page instead :). --Mifter (talk) 19:54, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the vote of confidence :), although one more favor :), could you move your support vote for the barnstar to the page that I created, as well as re-directing the notice on the bulletin board to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Law Enforcement/Barnstar Proposal. Once Again thanks for giving me control over the whole process :), and if you change your mind and decide you use the main talk page instead of the page that I created as I said above feel free to delete it :). Thanks --Mifter (talk) 20:20, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Law Enforcement Barnstar Proposal Poll
[edit]Hello there SGGH/Archive12,
We here at Wikiproject Law Enforcement are currently in the process of deciding wither or not to make this WikiProject Law Enforcement's official Barnstar award. Being that you are a member of Wikiproject Law Enforcement, we are humbly asking you to voice your opinion here about our new Barnstar.
Thank You and All the Best, Mifter (talk) 20:27, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, could you explain yourself with respect to Max Freiherr von Waldberg? Your purported sources do not match the content of the article. --Michael Snow (talk) 05:41, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I see, the problem seems to have been that you assumed the citation to Kater in the Goebbels article covered all the material preceding it. In reality, the citation only relates to the specific sentence it accompanies. I've rewritten the von Waldberg article with a legitimate source. --Michael Snow (talk) 16:20, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Patrolling new pages
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages! Since you appear to be relatively new user and have not been marking new pages you review as patrolled, I was just wondering if you knew about this facility and its purpose. At Special:Newpages, pages that have not been patrolled are shown in yellow highlight, to indicate they have not been reviewed (and as "unreviewed" when using Special:NewPagesFeed a/k/a page curation). It may be a good idea to use the "mark this page as patrolled" link at the bottom of the new page if you think you have performed the standard patrolling tasks and do not wish a second opinion. Where appropriate, doing so saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks again for volunteering your time at the new pages patrol project. -- Andrew Mill (talk) 13:10, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

I can not write own text. All articles in the Internet are written or concerted with the author of Ukrainian Levkoy breed - by Helen Biryukova. The article must correspond the Russian and Ukrainian variants. The article also must be approved by Helen. Copyrights are not violated and correspond GDFL. Therefore for WIKI it is possible reason to consider an original variant. Can I now edit this article? Thank you for Your answer! Best regards, Kupala (talk) 17:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
I already have its permissions and authorities from it. It is impossible to describe breed and the standard by the own words))) Each word in such description has clear and certain significance. The description is academic and was discussed by many people, and also corresponds to terminology in felinology and genetics. When you will have an Ukrainian Levkoy, you will probably speak on-ukrainski))) I will try to acquire the American cat) Kupala (talk) 22:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]This is the version you would have seen when speedy deleting that. Please note that the under construction tag requests that you do not tag for deletion while the tag is in place, as I am literally writing it as we speak. That is the function of the under construction tag. I appreciate you didn't intend any harm, and as per regulations I have not removed the speedy tag, merely added the hang on. Kind regards, SGGH speak! 09:02, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed, and thanks for following that procedure, even after the mistake i made. I should have issued a PROD on this article instead. Actually im merely doing so since often people start articles without ever finishing them. In general underconstruction tags never get checked as far as i know (I had one several months old one time), so im just making sure that i both have the article on my contributions to check at a later date, and to prevent incomplete articles slip trough.

Request For Account Creator User Rights
[edit]Hi SGGH, as you may or may not know there has been a new user right created called Account Creators, users in this user group are not blocked from creating more than six accounts a day per IP as is enforced with other users. This right can be assigned by Admins the same way as rollback is (Thorough Special:Userrights), and being that you are the only sysop that I know, I am asking that you grant me this right. The whole reason that I wish to have the ability to create more than six accounts per day is that I often help out at Wikipedia:Request an account. The criteria for being granted to the right can be found here. If you think I need more time at Wikipedia:Request an account before I am given the rights, or if you do not feel comfortable giving out such a new user right, I understand completely :). Thanks and All the Best, --Mifter (talk) 16:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again SGGH, when you left the message on my talk page about the rights, you said to come back ask you again after a few days of maxing out. So here I am again :) if you look at the log I have now created a total of 29 accounts per requests at WP:ACC. So I am once again asking you to take a look at the criteria found here and to decide wither or not I meet those criteria and to assign me the rights if you feel that I need them and I meet the criteria, if you think that I don't need the rights or do not meet the criteria then I understand completely :). On Provost Sergeant and Regimental Police I tagged with this projects banner on the talk page, as both these articles surely come under the projects remit. While doing this User:Blackshod has just reverted the banner saying I should read the article and that me placing it is "Random", I just thought I would make you aware so if it happens again maybe you could oversee things and try and keep the tags there and also if you have time it might be an idea if you could read these articles and see if you agree with me? Request for Peer Review help
[edit]Thank you for you work as a peer review volunteer. Since March, there has been a concerted effort to make sure all peer review requests get some response. Requests that have gone three days or longer without a substantial response are listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog. I have three requests to help this continue.
1) If you are asked to do a peer review, please ask the person who made the request to also do a review, preferably of a request that has not yet had feedback. This is fairly simple, but helps. For example when I review requests on the backlog list, I close with Hope this helps. If my comments are useful, please consider peer reviewing an article, especially one at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog (which is how I found this article). Yours, ...
2) While there are several people who help with the backlog, lately I have been doing up to 3 or 4 peer reviews a day and can not keep this up much longer. We need help. Since there are now well over 100 names on the PR volunteers page, if each volunteer reviewed just one PR request without a response from the list each month, it would easily take care of the "no response" backlog. To help spread out the load, I suggest those willing pick a day of the month and do a review that day (for example, my first edit was on the 8th, so I could pick the 8th). Please pick a peer review request with no responses yet, if possible off the backlog list. If you want, leave a note on my talk page as to which day you picked and I will remind you each month.
3) I have made some proposals to add some limits to peer review requests at Wikipedia_talk:Peer_review#Proposed_limits. The idea is to prevent any one user from overly burdening the process. These seem fairly reasonable (one PR request per editor per day, only four total PR requests per editor at a time, PR requests with cleanup banners can be delisted (like GAN quick fail), and wait two weeks to relist a PR request after it is archived), but have gotten no feedback in one week. If you have any thoughts on these, please weigh in.
Thanks again for your help and in advance for any assistance with the backlog. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
