Paid editing

Hi MPJ_DK, I warned you before about serious problems with some of your paid edits, but I see little improvement since then. You edited Zigma8 directly in the article (not on the talk page of it, as requested (per WP:COI, "You are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles.") In those edits[1], you made an unsourced change to the client list (one I can not find in reliable independet sources, only in Zigma8 publications, and which was already in the list as Bank Day anyway), and you added a second copy of the same press release to the statement that they are a member of the AAAA. Using press releases is a bad practice in general for these things, but using the same press release twice (in an effort to increase the number of references, probably) is even worse. As the company doesn't seem to be notable, I'll nominate it for deletion, but in the future, please use the talk page to propose your edits, and please make sure that the edits don't violate our policies and guidelines (no unverifiable information, no promotion, ...). WhatCulture Championship

i saw that you made a statement about why the page about the WhatCulture Championship should be deleted. and yes, it is a fictional championship which isn't even a normal wrestling championship, but there's one reason why this page should not be deleted: the size of WhatCulture. Super promotions

Hi, you really did a major job promoting hooks over the weekend. There are only 15 approved hooks left on the noms page! I'd just like to note that 4 out of the next 6 preps have people images. We usually try to stagger the images, like people-nature-buildings-other things-paintings. I was also surprised that my hook was promoted only 2 days after it was nominated. It's true it was approved, but in this case I was trying to nominate it before the 7-day deadline, and some major work still needed to be done on it, so I asked that it be returned to the noms page. It's preferable to promote hooks from the top of the nominations page first, and if it doesn't work out in terms of balancing sets, you can always leave a few slots blank, since new hooks are being approved all the time. @MPJ-DK: I just removed Template:Did you know nominations/Pingjiang Road from Prep 1; it didn't yet have an approval tick, and per Rule H2 you cannot promote a hook that you approved. Mexican politician hooks

Hi, there are quite a few Mexican politician hooks on the nominations page, and more coming all the time. I suggest running them every other set, if not every third set, to break them up. • mi without a period appears to be the word for the note between re and fa in the musical scale.
• In U.S. English, the abbreviation for mile is always written with a period.

Hi, I just noticed you promoted Church of England border polls 1915–1916. I have also seen that the original reviewer @Johnbod: has said retrospectively that when he stated his preference, he got it wrong and meant to say ALT2 here. If I'm, honest I think he is right that ALT2 is a bit hookier than the one that he erroneously promoted so could I ask if the hook for that could be switched to the one he meant? GA Cup Announcement

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup Greetings, all! We would like to announce the start of the 4th GA Cup, a competition that seeks to encourage the reviewing of Good article nominations! Thus far, there have been three GA Cups, which were successful in reaching our goals of significantly reducing the traditionally long queue at GAN, so we're doing it again. Currently, there are over 400 nominations listed. We hope that we can again make an impact this time. The 4th GA Cup will begin on November 1, 2016. Four rounds are currently scheduled (which will bring the competition to a close on February 28, 2017), but this may change based on participant numbers. We may take a break in December for the holidays, depending on the results of a poll of our participants taken shortly after the competition begins. The sign-up and submissions process will remain the same, as will the scoring. Sign-ups for the upcoming competition are currently open and will close on October 31, 2016. WikiCup 2016 November newsletter: Final results

The final round of the 2016 WikiCup is over. Congratulations to the 2016 WikiCup top three finalists:

• First Place - Cas Liber (submissions)
• Second Place - MPJ-DK (submissions)
• Third Place - Adam Cuerden (submissions)

In addition to recognizing the achievements of the top finishers and everyone who worked hard to make it to the final round, we also want to recognize those participants who were most productive in each of the WikiCup scoring categories:

• Featured Article – Cas Liber (actually a three-way tie with themselves for two FAs in each of R2, R3, and R5).
• Good Article – MPJ-DK had 14 GAs promoted in R3.
• Featured List – Calvin999 (submissions) produced 2 FLs in R2
• Featured Pictures – Adam Cuerden restored 18 images to FP status in R4.
• Featured Portal – SSTflyer (submissions) produced the only FPO of the Cup in R2.
• Featured Topic – Cyclonebiskit (submissions) and Calvin were each responsible for one FT in R3 and R2, respectively.
• Good Topic – MPJ-DK created a GT with 9 GAs in R5.
• Did You Know – MPJ-DK put 53 DYKs on the main page in R4.
• In The News – Dharmadhyaksha (submissions) and Muboshgu (submissions), each with 5 ITN, both in R4.

MPJ-DK, I was wondering whether you thought this article was of GA quality or not. MS-Japan hasn't edited on Wikipedia for at least seven weeks, and hadn't posted to this individual GAR for nearly two months before that; furthermore, it's clear that some parts of the reassessment are clearly not per GA criteria, such as the image comments. You were working on improving the article, though based on your comments I'm not at all sure you'd been able to do enough to satisfy the criteria.

Vandalism

Someone undid my edit saying it was vandalism. I changed the date of John Cena's 3rd US title reign from November 18 to November 16 and left the date it aired as it was, November 18. He won the title on SmackDown and SmackDown is taped. What can I do if he keeps undoing my edit and says it's vandalism? WikiCup December newsletter: WikiCup 2017

On 1 January 2017, WikiCup 2017 (the 10th Annual WikiCup) will begin. This year we are trying something a little different – monetary prizes.

For the WC2017 the prizes will be as follows (amounts are based in US$ and will be awarded in the form of an online Amazon gift certificate):

• First place – $200
• Second & Third place – $50 each
• Category prizes – $25 per category (which will be limited to FA, FL, FP, GA, and DYK for 2017). Winning a category prize does not require making it to the final round.

Note: Monetary prizes are a one-year experiment for 2017 and may or may not be continued in the future. In order to be eligible to receive any of the prizes above, the competing Wikipedia account must have a valid/active email address.

After two years as a WikiCup judge, Figureskatingfan is stepping down. We thank her for her contributions as a WikiCup judge. We are pleased to announce that our newest judge is two-time WikiCup champion Cwmhiraeth.
