Note on adding full Eastern Orthodox Project to your watchlist
[edit]This is a note for members of the Eastern Orthodox Project: Since the project's main page has been converted to a portal-style box format, each of the boxes is actually its own page (you can see the page outside its box by clicking the 'Edit' link on any often the section boxes on the project page, which takes you to the edit page for its contents). Because of this, updates to individual box contents will not necessarily show up on editors' watchlists, if you've only got the main project page watched.
In order to keep up to date with all updates to the Project and its pages, I'd recommend adding each subpage to your watchlists. These are:
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy - The main Project page
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Intro - The introduction to the Project text, in the top box
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Scope - Goals of the project text
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Subsections - Listing of Project sub-areas
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Tasks - Main listing of pages, etc., needing work
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Templates - Listing of Project templates
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Participants - Listing of members
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Related - Listing of areas related to Project
- Wikipedia:WikiProject_Eastern_Orthodoxy/Notes - Notes on Project
If you add all of the above pages to your watchlist, you should be informed whenever any part of the WikiProject Eastern Christianity is edited/updated. To discuss this, please see the relavent section of the Project's talk page. —Antonios Aigyptostalk 09:26, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]My dear Givi, I got the book you wanted from University Library, will commence with photocopying the materials which interest you and God willing you get it by October :) Im also sending Dawlings rare work. Its a biggest jewel of scholarly work on Georgia I have ever found. And you thought that only Wardrop, Lang and Allan were the only ones :) I’m really excited and curious to know your opinion on that book after you read it. Let’s communicate via emails when you have time. Cheers. p.s please review my edits on Georgia Ldingley 20:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I notified him because he was involved in the naming of the article back in July 2005. That's the same reason why I contacted mikka. I can let D.Papuashvili know about it too if you want... —Khoikhoi 05:56, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Happy St Ketevan Martyrs day!
[edit]Dear Kober, this day is very special not only for Georgian Christians but for all Christians around the world. The heroic death and struggle of Queen Ketevan shall be forever cherished and remembered by Christendom. She suffered and overtook the same path as our Lord Christ, through horrific suffering and final sacrifice for the good of her nation and her faith. I’d like to wish you and your family all the blessings on this holy day. Praise be the holy soul of St Ketevan. May God keep you well. Yours, Ldingley 14:57, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Givi. I am planning to go out with my gf and celebrate this day with George. BTW what an amazing job you did on Kosta Khetagurov and on Ossetian "referendum" (great job on finding sources). Also can you please add Senator Lugar's visit to Tskhinvali and his comments on Russian peacekeepers in Tskhinvali? Here is the source: [1] Thanks Kober. Ldingley 15:17, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Dear Kober, i noticed that this article Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze did not mention that Sergo annexed DRG. I added some sentence but please review if its suitable. Thanks. Also review Gaioz Devdariani as time will allow. Thanks. Ldingley 17:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kober, another and last request :) sorry. There is no article about famous Niko Nikoladze and general who died in Abkhazia Geno Adamia (he is the only one of which I dont have any info in my collection, but i do remember him during the conflict, very nice man). My many thanks Ldingley 19:00, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kober, you made me very happy with Geno Adamia article. On August 13, they showed him a tank where 3 Georgians (ages 17, 19, and 21) where burned alive inside. They refused to leave the Gulripsh Bridge and eventually were killed by mortar fire. He fell on his knees in front of this tank and cried. He was a very good man, a man of peace rather than of war. Thanks again for this article. Ldingley 14:26, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

This special barnstar to Givi Kobridze for his excellent contribution on Wikipedia Encyclopedia. Question
[edit]Are you online right now? —Khoikhoi 06:06, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I use Firefox but I can't see Armenian or Georgian on my computer. I can see Armenian on Safari, however. Do you think it's because I have a Mac? Are there extensions for Georgian and Armenian I can download? Thanks. —Khoikhoi 07:10, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem. Thanks. —Khoikhoi 07:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Abkhazia
[edit]Well I am back, now then bad news first, even though I made an excessive photo attack on everything deserving photographing, my camera succesfully fell out of my hands in New Athos cave and...kaput. Externally the memory card has survived, but I have not been able to recover any images (although there is still hope).
Now then a few impressions to share. First of all, like they say there is Moscow and then there is the rest of Russia, well same with Abkhazia there is territory northwest of Sukhumi and then there is the rest. Despite the massive tourist industry which in terms of numbers now annually surpasses the Soviet times, and the money they bring, infrastructure is APPALING in all respects. Take a look at this photogallery and it speaks for itself [2] [3].
In terms of beaches, however, compared to our resorts like Anapa or Sochi, in Abkhazia its crystal clear water. All in all I had a great time. New Athos Cave railway is being drafted...--Kuban Cossack 00:24, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
are u online? Ldingley 16:42, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- Per your question on where I was. I speant a week in Gagra and then a few days in Sukhumi and then travelled eastwards to a few Cossack outposts on the border areas next to Georgia proper and hiked in the mountains, before coming back to New Athos (now you can see why I feel so disappointed in losing my camera, still no luck in recovering anything). --Kuban Cossack 12:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kober, while reading Nikoladze article, please review changes on Ilia Chavchavadze. Thanks Ldingley 14:18, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Wow Kober, your Nikoladze article is something :) I never knew those facts and i have no idea where you found them. I really enjoyed it, thank you so much. If you dont like some things on Ilias article, please modify. Mr Nikoladze told me that his Canadian/British friends are coming to Tbilisi in November and i want you to meet them. I also will pass them some book for you. If you have time to meet them, it would be great. Let me know about Dowling book after you finish. Thanks again Givi. Ldingley 14:32, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Kober, i wounder who was the briliant person who wrote on United National Movement that they are nationalist party and try to get controle over "suvereign" states of Abkhazia and S. Ossetia. License tagging for Image:Prince a g chavchavadze.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Prince a g chavchavadze.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:06, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Kober, im glad that you liked the book. Please review my changes (Abkhazia, Upper Abkhazia, De-jure Government of Abkhazia, Malkhaz Akishbaia and Chkhalta) and contributions and make any edits which you think should be done. Thanks a lot. Ldingley 15:15, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kober, recalling ambassador means a state of war with the country. It was their gravest mistake and will cost them dearly. EU, US in this case will support Georgia. Some US agents were arrested in Latin America and charged with spying. US did not recall its ambassadors from those countries. Also these "agents" were simple terrorists who were planning the sabotage and terrorists acts on Georgian territory. Its state sponsored terrorism. Everbody knows that in the west. Putin can’t fool anyone here. GRU always operate din Georgia, they were instrumental in waging Abkhaz war, Ossetian conflict, Sumgait massacre, Khojaly massacre, and masterminded the Chechen crisis. Their presence in Georgia was always high and very active. Now their are loosing this grip on the country and that is why, Russia panicked. More mistakes like that, better for Georgia in the long run. I am glad that opposition fully supports the administration. This is the sign of true democracy. What is the fresh news so far? Ldingley 15:11, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- "which played an important role in the ethnic and cultural consolidation of the Georgian nation." BRAVO. Ldingley 15:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Im not surprised. Ingush always viewed Georgians as their older brothers. Actually there are no ethnic differences between Ingush, Tush and Kists. :) Very interesting news. So by evacuating military personnel they will help Georgia to get rid of their military presence in a very short time, rather than till 2008? Wow, Russians are brilliant as usual :) Ldingley 15:24, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- November, return to Tskhinvali :) and finally i can make some photos there. :) Ldingley 15:39, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- "Ossetians produce excellent beer, btw" That’s a POV statement and much disputed controversy. I never heard of Ossetian beer :) NPOV should be respected due to vast variety of excellent beers from Belgium, Germany, Canada, Scotland, Ireland and even in Georgia (Kazbegi, Natakhtari, etc) :) Ldingley 16:01, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- That’s it! I had enough. You are being warned for personal attacks on other beers and POV pushing for Czech beer, which is un-sources and un-referenced claim! :) Im sorry but they suck Kober :) Why is Russia calling for emerg meeting in SC of UN for abkhaz-georgian conflict? Rwanda Genocide
[edit]Kober, im still working on this article Rwandan Genocide. It would be good if someone can translate it into Georgian (short article), its very important topic. Thanks Ldingley 15:22, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kober dont worry, we will keep off any ultra-nationalistic attacks on those articles. You must realize that recent evens play a great role in disturbances on Wiki. Abkhazia article, Upper Abkhazia, S Ossetia will be under attack due to politican tention. Many thanks for your hard work dear Givi. Ldingley 16:05, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Mikheil Kasyanov, leader of Russia's Peoples Democratic Union and former Prime Minister who has publicly stated his presidential ambitions, has condemned the actions of the Russian authorities regarding Georgia.
A statement issued by Kasyanov reads:
"The actions of the Russian leadership, which called upon the UN Security Council for the resolution of an incident that occured in relation to Georgia and which made the decision to implement informal sanctions against the Georgian people, are unworthy of the status of a Great Power. This policy can not be justified by the incorrect, and at times provocative, actions of the Georgian leadership.
The ongoing campaign of discrimination not only against the people of the neighboring state, but also against [Russian] citizens of Geogian nationality, have led to the violation of the Constitution, which directly forbids the limitation of citizens' rights based on ethnicity. We have to admit that Russia's first presidency in the G-8 would be marked not only by gas scandals, but also by chauvinist hysteria." civil.ge
