Soda Popinski
[edit]Ah, sorry; I intended to replace it, but couldn't find a good image to replace it with and got distracted from doing so.
Thanks for the approval of DIY for Glass Joe, but I don't know what you mean by Soda Popinski missing information for Punch-Out!! and Nintendo. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 06:25, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
DYK for Pinckney State Recreation Area
[edit]On August 7, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Pinckney State Recreation Area, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Allegheny Islands
[edit]Yes, I had seen the discussion - fixed the refs in Ricketts Glen first and was going to comment on the article's talk page. I tried to upload a photo and got the error message too - then tried to use my TUSC account and that failed (it was one of Nicholas T's Hickory Run photos - here - not sure if the license is OK or not). My guess is the bot will be back working soon, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:21, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks - not sure if it would be better to wait a day and see if the upload service comes back online. I will add the PA Manual acreage to the RGSP article. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:37, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Congratulations on the well-deserved star for Ricketts Glen State Park. Finetooth (talk) 01:40, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes indeed, success again! I will send out formal thank spam shortly. Thanks for all your work and patience, I have the feeling most other PA state parks won't be this detailed / require this much work. Will also work on the TN map, thanks for the heads up Ruhrfisch ><>°° 12:08, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

DYK request
[edit]Dincher, would you mind checking the Jeremy Bamber DYK that I suggested on August 11? The ones before it and after it have been checked, so I'm assuming it must have been missed. I added the source at the time, so it should be fairly easy to confirm, if you have the time. If not, no worries. Cheers, SlimVirgin talk|contribs 10:36, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Re: Ohiopyle timelapse
[edit]Great find - thanks! The file has to be converted to ogv format, which I do not know how to do. I asked at the MediaLab help page before and Penubag did the conversion, but he is not very active now. I will ask there for help. Did you see Red Rock Job Corps Center? I nominated it at DYK. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:05, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- The request is in at Wikipedia:Graphic_Lab/Photography_workshop#Help_converting_a_video_on_Flickr_to_ogv_format. The RRJCC is my get rid ofa red link in the article for FAC article for RGSP. Do you think it would be worth writing an article on Lakes in Ricketts Glen State Park - talk about Mud Pond and Lake Jean, then the former Lakes Leigh and Rose. At one point I thought about including Mountain Springs Lake and the former Ice Dam No. 2 Lake, but they are not technically in the park. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:05, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, that was fast. Thanks for adding it to the Ohiopyle article. I would be OK with adding the videos to the PA state parks list - which two images would we remove? I just realized we had talked about putting the Ganoga video into the RGSP article. I am not sure where we would put it though.
- I had thought about trying for a R. Bruce Ricketts featured topic. Ricketts Glen State Park, Waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park, Ganoga Lake, and Clemuel Ricketts Mansion are all already FAs. The Bruce article would have to be at least GA, and would probably have to get William Reynolds Ricketts to at least GA too. Lakes would fit in either topic. I think if we tried for a RGSP topic, Bruce, Benton Air Force Station and Red Rock Job Corps Center would have to be at least GA and I am not sure if Ganoga Lake and the Mansion would count for RGSP. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:58, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- I made Template:Geobox locator South Carolina and will do SD next. I forgot the village of Ricketts would need to be GA for a FT too (maybe not for the park). Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:06, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
- You are very welcome. Template:Geobox locator South Dakota is done now too - please let me know if they need to be tweaked. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:19, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I wonder if you could help here. I've replied to my reviewer's concerns within hours, but she is taking days to respond to me. Yesterday, I think I satisfied her latest concerns. Could you help this nomination along? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 12:43, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Hullo Dincher. As some good late suggestions have come in, I'd appreciate you taking a quick look at the Aug. 18 nomination you approved for Undershaw, built for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. As article creator and nominator, I have incorporated the best suggestions and would like you to examine ALT6 as the final makeover. Thanks for your time on this, I really want to get it right. Red Rock and plans
[edit]Thanks for the congrats on Red Rock - have you been getting many edits on your recent DYKs? It seems like they get fewer edits while they are on the Main Page now than they used to. Thanks for the Barnstar!
[edit]Hi! Many thanks for the barnstar. On a recent visit to my hometown, I amused myself by roaming around taking photos. I took some in Erie County, also. I have some from Indiana (Pa.) and Mercer that I haven't yet uploaded. Some of these little burgs aren't particularly photogenic -- for instance, there is no way to make Wesleyville or Harrison City, Pa., look beautiful. On the other hand, Mercer and Indiana gave me more to work with in terms of quaintness. Canadian2006 (talk) 02:22, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Can you take a look at Articles created/expanded on September 3 to see if this above article might qualify for a DYK. Apparently the previoulsy approved ALT1 is no longer approved. Perhaps ALT3 or ALT4 or ALT5 is better suited. Thanks.-Doug Coldwell talk 17:54, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

- Working through my upload backlog slowly, I now have all my decent pictures (and of course some of my usual weird ones like latrines and recycling staions) for Hyner Run State Park on Commons. Also uploaded the Michael Ross portrait in the Williamsport cat (photographed it in the museum there). Little Pine pix are next - probably this weekend, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:47, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- Glad you like them - I was looking at the official park map as I went through uploading the photos and I could trace the path I took through the park by the order of the pictures. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:31, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
- I got pictures of the CCC-built pavilions and latrine at Sand Bridge this weekend, including a panorama for the bottom of the article. Problem is there is not enough room for a panorama. What would you think of switching the picture column in the PA state parks check list to a list of numbers of photos on Commons, including panoramas? So Allegheny Islands would be 2, and Sand Bridge would be 12, 1P. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:39, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sand Bridge is only 800 B of text with the page size tool, so if we expand it for the panorama, we could also try for a DYK. The Pennsylvania Manual list or the History of the State Parks book list it as smallest - perhaps DYK ...that Sand Bridge State Park, the smallest Pennsylvania state park at 3 acres (1.2 ha), has three CCC-built picnic pavilions from the 1930s? We could use one of the new pavilion pictures. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:03, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
