I'm interested in anything having to do with the Civil Air Patrol. I watch more than 100 CAP-related pages, including some that don't exist yet, and hope someday to see a WikiProject set up for this organization. I was once a member of the CAP (several decades ago) but commit to keeping WP:NPOV in these edits. My interest in the CAP includes articles directly about the CAP and its history, missions, and programs, as well as biographies of people who have or had a connection to it. My interest does not quite extend to articles about various airports that happen to mention they are the meeting place of the local CAP unit, but if the airport has a more significant connection, then it may also be of interest to me.
I have some limited interest in certain aspects of criminology. I follow, but don't usually edit, some articles related to disproportionate sentencing, especially death penalty cases, as well as the penalties imposed for those labeled as sex offenders. My interests in criminology are primarily US-centric.
Somebody needs to watch that page, right? I don't follow any other color, just purple. I invite others to watch the other colors; although I am sure that someone already does! (This should not be confused with the novel, the film, or the Tony Award winningplay by the same name!)
I've been watching some lottery-related articles. My interest is primarily modern lotteries in the US and Canada. My plan to win more than a billion dollars (US) in the 13 Jan 2016 PowerBall lottery failed. My single "quick-pick" ticket matched exactly one number -- not a winner of any amount -- so early retirement is out for now! I tell people that I win $2 every time I don't buy a lottery ticket, and there are millions of tickets I haven't bought; presumably, I should be worth millions now (if only I could figure out where it all went!)....
Wikipedia is an amazing database! I cannot even begin to imagine the complexity of the underlying database structure. Yeah, I'm sure I can dig in and find the stats someplace, but I'd rather just look at the project as a whole and admire it! Meanwhile, articles about Wikipedia interest me, but I resist the urge to edit them. User pages, talk pages, barnstars, userboxes, Templates, AfD, MfD, TfD, XfD, Jimbo's talk page, etc. are all of interest to me.
"Etamni" was the short-form of the name of a character in a book that I read in high school. It was a fantasy novel, but I do not now recall the name of the book or the name of the author. I identified with the character, and have used the name from time-to-time since then. I am a private person, and do not usually associate the name Etamni with my actual name. The word 'Etamni' also spells 'inmate' backwards, but I'm definitely not an inmate!
If you know the source of the name 'Etamni' please feel free to drop a note on my talk page -- I'd love to find that book again and see if I still identify with the character that my teenaged self found so intriguing!
There are others out there on the internet who also use the name Etamni.
Pursuant to the security exception of WP:VALIDALT, I have registered Etamni-m as an account to use while on a mobile device or public WiFi of any kind. The user page and talk page for that account redirect back to my main account. For those to whom it matters, please be aware that my primary mobile device uses dynamic IP addresses when connected to cellular data, and may also use the same IP address as my main account if I am using it to edit while it is connected to my home WiFi. I commit to not using this alternative account for inappropriate purposes.
You know you've been editing Wikipedia too much when you go to make changes to a MS Word doc, and start off by trying to click an edit button at the top of the page. -- Etamni, 9/21/2015
