The persecution of Shia Muslims by Al Qaeda refers to the persecution of Shia Muslims by the Sunni Islamic extremist group throughout any moment from its inception.

[edit]- On September 14, 2005, a car bombing occurred in Kadhimiya, Baghdad killing 182 people, and injuring 679. On the same day Abu Musab al-Zarqawi declared war on the Shia.[1]
- On September 17, 2005, A suicide car bomber blew up in front of the al-Rasol al-Atham mosque, Tuz Khormato. This led to the killing of 13 worshippers and 28 people were wounded from it.[2]
- On November 23, 2006, Six car bombs and two mortar shells were shot into a Shia slum in Sadr City. The US determined it was done by Al Qaeda.[3][4]
