No Official Confirmation of U.S. Release.

[edit]

It's true that this game has an english title ("Shadowland"), and that there are screenshots of this particular version of the game, and that a certain website lists it as the "U.S. title". However, there is nothing to officially indicate that this game was ever released in the United States. Now before anybody brings up Chiller, try to understand that that game was made in the U.S.. Since Yokai Douchuuki/Shadowland was made in Japan by a Japanese company (namely Namco), U.S. companies could choose not to bring it over. Until there is anything to officially indicate a U.S. release, this article must assume that there was not a U.S. release, and thus anything unsourced to the contrary is considered speculation. ROM dumps of the game, with English text throughout, exist, so it presumably recieved some sort of release in an English-speaking country. Kouban (talk) 01:07, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That somehow seems to be the case, as Hi Score Girl refers to the PC Engine release as "Shadowland". --Tailikku (talk) 04:13, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

the article title

other than the problematic "(Video Game)" bit, i don't think this game's title is supposed to be two words. the game itself just has "SHADOWLAND", and for the record... i don't think anyone figured out what to do about the "--YOKAI--" bit right under it. is there any information on this game from namco, or from some magazine that covered arcade games, or...? i really do seem to remember mame referring to this as a prototype, and it sure looks like one... their older localizations were always a bit more thorough... 75.177.119.25 (talk) 13:28, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
