Vichy France
[edit]According to several books on the Occupation and Vichy France (see: Paxton, Robert O.; Vichy France: Old Guard and New Order, 1940 - 1944; New York; Columbia University Press; 1972, 2001 [p. 180 of paperback edition]), "de Pellepoix" was a false noble partonymic.
