Deletion proposal

[edit]

This page should be deleted. -- Joe59108 (talk) 21:21, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I completely disagree, the page should NOT be deleted. The "Background" section may be the only section with text thus far, but the article will grow once she is on tour. Plus it is well written and has sufficient information with inline citation (about fifteen of them). It also has the tour dates section and the official promotional poster. This page has more cited information than most concert tour articles on Wikipedia and SHOULD stay. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 21:03, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A delete is ridiculous. However, I do support a merge and redirect to Miley Cyrus tours. This is little more than a list of dates right now, and could very easily be merged. -- POKERdance talk/contribs 22:43, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see no use in merging it because Miley Cyrus will go on tour in just about twenty days or so. Once that happens there will be sections named: set list, a concert synopsis and critical reception. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 00:30, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Great. 'Til then, I'm redirecting this to Miley Cyrus tours. Dig the page history up once this page can be expanded into a better-sized article. POKERdance talk/contribs 00:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I support this being merged to Miley Cyrus tours also, possibly for good. I don't see the reason for this tour to have it's own page. Most tours do not have their own page, the information about the tours are just gathered on an artists tours page. The only reason Miley's other tour, the "Best of Both Worlds Tour", has a page is due to the notability surrounding the ticket controversy and such. Unless this tour sparks something out of the ordinary or something like that, this is just like any other artist tour and should be kept on the artist's tour page. (I typed this a while ago and left it open & forgot to submit it but I see it has been merged now.) -- Rockin56 (talk) 01:09, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I meant it should be merged until its ready. -- Joe59108

Any model articles?

[edit]

Does anyone know of any good article or featured articles on tours? The best I could find was The Circus Starring Britney Spears, which looks excellent, but there must be a reason it isn't GA status (though this might be simply because it has bare urls.)Liquidluck (talk) 22:04, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Many U2 tours articles can be considered as models. Even if the War Tour is in fact a good article, I would go with the PopMart Tour. Sparks Fly 18:14, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! It's pretty clear now why Circus isn't a GA- it pales in comparison to the U2 tour articles. Liquidluck (talk) 07:29, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All of those are great exmaples. Also check The Fame Ball Tour. It is written very well. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 00:52, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Piano picture

[edit]

Can someone please put up a picture of Miley playing the piano during "When I Look At You"? Thanks! --DreadfullyDespised (talk) 03:29, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can see pictures of Cyrus singing "When I Look at You" here on Wikipedia. Unfortunately, we do not have any of her playing the piano, but and you can see pictures of her playing at other sites like Just Jared Jr. or fansites, and watch the full performance here on Youtube. Liquidluck (talk) 19:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted one put up on her tour page to show that yes she does play instruments on tour. But I see there isn't one. Too bad. --DreadfullyDespised (talk) 05:21, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does Breakout support Wonder World?

[edit]

I know that thus far we've treated it as though it isn't, but I have to say it seems strange to go on an international tour in order to support a 7 song EP available only in American Wal-Mart stores instead of a studio album. She hasn't gone on tour to support Breakout yet, starts the concert with Breakout, and I've seen a few reviews saying it supports Breakout (I can try to find them if needed- I haven't bookmarked them or anything). I think we should list Breakout along with the EP in the infobox. Liquidluck (talk) 18:48, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Time of Our Lives is now available worldwide and has a new cover art. At first it was just available in Walmart. And Breakout sounds reasonable because there are many songs, that are not singles, on the set list for Breakout. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Will the tour be released on video?

[edit]

Does anyone know if this will be released on video at its completion?Phelicity9 (talk) 23:27, 10 November 2009 (UTC)Phelicity9 11/10/09[reply]

Wait and see if there is any news of a DVD following the UK leg of the tour. Rag107 (talk) 23:39, 4 December 2009 (UTC.

Yes it will be, but who put April 12, 2010. Where did they get that? Source?

Well, this looks like another excellent article, but I'm sure I can find something to criticise. ;)

  • Quotes need a ref right after them, not just at the end of the sentence/paragraph, for example:
    • "more of a mature show" (in development)
  •  Done
    • "Normally, in a rock show you don’t need someone calling the show. In this one we had to take a more theatrical approach with someone calling cues every step of the way because there was so much going on at once between props and automation" (towards the end of development)
  • Can you find a more original way of ending a quote than "Cyrus said"?
  • Ditto London and, unless qualified, London refers to the city in England
  • Don't put quote marks round a blockquote per MOS:QUOTE
  •  Done
  • Punctuation should go after quote marks per MOS:PUNCT (for example, "Breakout." at the start of Concert synopsis)
  •  Done

Since GA doesn't require absolute MoS compliance, I'm happy to pass this, but the above should probably be looked at when you get a chance. Excellent work. :) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:52, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
