HeeneWest Worthing – West Worthing seems to be the name in common use for this area. Wikipedia's Naming conventions (geographic names) advises using the widely accepted name. The Ordnance Survey map for the area uses West Worthing rather than Heene. This article includes a line "the old name Heene gradually fell into disuse". Most of the article (except for medieval period) also uses the term West Worthing rather than Heene Peetred (talk) 08:41, 18 December 2019 (UTC) Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:22, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Heene" is only the name of a ward today, it doesn't come up with a settlement today. Vision of Britain (1887) says that "West Worthing" was a village and local government district in Heen parish. Heene was a parish until 1902 (click relationships and changes) when it was merged with Worthing. If you click on the map for the CP and choose 19th century you can see that "Heene" was a settlement on Heene Road while the 20th century map shows West Worthing (but not Heene) in Heene CP. "West Worthing" is indeed shown on the modern OS maps. This move looks sensible since we don't usually have separate articles for topics that have been renamed but it would be useful to know if "West Worthing" is a modern name for "Heene" but even if it isn't it might be argued that there's little point in having 2 articles. I would also suggest that if the move is made that we don't need to keep the DAB since the other 2 entries can be linked in a hatnote per WP:2DABS and are already linked in the article.
