Advert tag
[edit]I have removed the {{advert}} maintenance tag from the article. In my view it is no longer written like an advert. Voceditenore (talk) 19:06, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
Referencing overhaul
[edit]I have removed quite a few utterly redundant poor quality references (there was a lot of citation overkill in this article), updated urls, and added more complete bibliographic information to many existing references. A bigger change was the switch to list-defined references combined with the use of Template:R. The article looks exactly the same to the reader, while the vast amount of clutter within the article's editing window is greatly reduced, making it much easier to edit and proof-read. Compare: old version and new version. It also makes it much easier to update refs as they are all contained in a single list, e.g. [3]. There is a full explanation of this reference formatting method at Help:List-defined references and Template:R. However, editors adding new refs can still use the old inline "Blah blah blahed in blah.<ref>blah blah blah</ref>" method if they wish. It can co-exist with list-defined references and the mixed format will not affect the appearance of the article. Voceditenore (talk) 12:43, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
New President
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Good afternoon,
I am employed by Global University Systems (GUS) - the company that owns University Canada West (UCW); my Conflict of Interest (please see my Talk Page for all COIs).
I am requesting that the following sentence be added to the end of the 'History' section:
“In 2019, Brock Dykeman was named new president of the University.”[1]
Can this please also be updated in the info-box?
All advice and insights from Editors is appreciated.
Thanks FunkyKoala (talk) 14:53, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

History
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Good morning,
I am employed by Global University Systems (GUS) - the company that owns University Canada West (UCW); my Conflict of Interest (please see my Talk Page for all COIs).
Looking at the ‘History’ section on the UCW Wikipedia page, it might benefit from having subheaders. This would provide more clarity on the history of the institution and its evolution through the years.
The first header could be ‘Initial years (2005 – 2008)’, starting from the first paragraph to the sentence ‘Later that year the university was sold to Eminata Group’.
The second header could be ‘Eminata Group Ownership (2008 – 2014)’, starting from ‘At the time of sales, it was reported that UCW was teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and struggling to attract students’ to ‘Coren was previously the dean of Kwantlen Polytechnic University's business school.’
The final header could be ‘Global University Systems Ownership (2014 – present)’, starting from ‘Eminata sold University Canada West to the Netherlands-based company Global University Systems in November 2014…’ and can continue to the end of the ‘History’ section.
Any insight from Editors would be appreciated. MsAttempt (talk) 11:26, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
- Done, with a couple of very minor tweaks. ElKevbo (talk) 06:51, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
