TBA for PS3 Version

[edit]

I changed the ever-changing released date for PS3 version of Twisted Metal to TBA... as 2010 would give people a false hope that there is a new installment in development.

As everyone knows the E.S.P has stated that they are not working on a new installment, there has been rumors but as of yet, they remain so.

So please leave TBA as release date, not 2010 or 2011...

Thank you, 98.164.224.193 (talk) 04:25, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

News section?

[edit]

I really dont think a news section should be on wikipedia. I suggest it be removed. Alcryt (talk) 09:44, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

mrgrimm

[edit]

I changed mrgrimm a little on the black section, it inaccurately stated that mrgrimm was always insane, but he was drove to insanity after the torture from when he was captured. --Lakecityransom 12:12, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is a bit lavish in its praise

[edit]

This article is a bit lavish in its praise. Certainly a significant game franchise, but the article needs some toning down. --CVaneg 23:41, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)

There's no praise from the author, only stating whether a certain game was or wasn't a hit with critics and fans.
The author does not have to state a direct opinion for an article to be considered non-NPOV. The article only has to be written in such a way as to present a particular point of view (in this case it seems the point of view is that Twisted Metal is one of the best game franchises of any platform). I've already edited the overview, which I thought was a bit much, and I don't really think that
In addition to this fanfare, Twisted Metal 2 is also regarded as a PlayStation classic and almost always makes the list whenever the gaming media compiles some sort of "20 Best PlayStation Games" list.
is a good sentence either. It would be far better to say (Magazine X, Magazine Y, and Magazine Z all ranked Twisted Metal 2 as one of their Best Playstation Games of all time). Anyway, in general, this article feels more like a game review than an unbiased encyclopedia article. --CVaneg 00:14, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Individual Games

[edit]

Is there any specific reason why the pages for all of the individual Twisted Metal games (except Twisted Metal: Head On) just redirect to this page? I would think that they are all noteworthy enough to have their own pages separate from this one. - Hihihi 01:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Twisted Metal 1 and 2 comprise the series' canon and must be studied within the series as a whole (not to mention that TM1 was not famous enough), Twisted Metal 3 and 4 surely don't deserve separate pages, just mentions of what changed from TM2. Small Brawl too. And the current games (Black, Head-On) have separate pages. --kAtremer 08:33, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to see the Twisted Metal article be renamed to Twisted Metal (series) and have all the games, not just Black and Head-On, have their own articles. The Twisted Metal article is just so long and messy as it is now. I could go ahead and start creating the articles but right now, the individual titles all redirect back to Twisted Metal and I don't know how to change it. I also don't know how to rename the article to "Twisted Metal (series)". If anyone wants to collaborate with me, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I'd be happy to work on the articles once the formatting is changed. Tygartl1 17:54, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Figured out the re-naming and have created separate Twisted Metal 2 page. Tygartl1 22:36, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Twisted Metal 1 section is getting out of hand. I'm going to change the Twisted Metal page from a redirect to the series page to its own page and trim down the info on this page. Tygartl1 15:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Character/Location Page

[edit]

This article is very cluttered. I propose to move all the characters from this page onto one of their own and just create a box for them here. The same goes for the locations page as well. If no objection is made within by Friday, I will go ahead with my action.

5/29/06, I started a new Twisted Metal Characters page.

Wouldn't it be better to create separate pages for TM1 and 2 (as it is for Black and Head-On now) and list their characters there along with locations and music/graphics details, call this article Twisted Metal Series and give only general info here? I suppose TM characters are of little value separated from the game info. --kAtremer 08:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I belive that the age of the games makes then hard to create there own page because of lack of information. At the same time, the character page shows off how the vehicles were used differently and kept in canon or had continual story lines. Also, I plan to change to page name from Twisted Metal Characters to The Cars and Characters of Twisted Metal, becuase of how both parties have evolved as the series went on.
I don't understand what do you mean "lack of information" - see the games, that's all. TMAlliance documents them in detail, somebody even noticed music in TM3&4. Anyway, your effort seems to be more appropriate for a separate site, which Wikipedia could use as a reference (if you don't use Wikipedia as a reference). --kAtremer 06:11, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone put the character page back? I'm sure that the information that was there before is better than the non-existant information thats there now. The game's plot revolves around the motives of the characters and the wishes they want granted, those aren't even listed anywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.111.154.88 (talk) 02:12, 31 December 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Twisted Metal: Get Him

[edit]

What is Twisted Metal: Get Him? It was listed as the main article to TM: Head-On, I changed it to the real article. --kAtremer 08:34, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Twisted Metal 3 and 4

[edit]

It says in the article that 3 and 4 became best sellers . . . can some get a citation for this because I've never heard that before (and I have a hard time believing it).

Both games made it to Sony's Greatest Hits line of PlayStation games, which, as far as I can remember, require sales of 500,000 copies. It wouldn't surprise me if TM3 and TM4 sold well based only on the name recognition.
My copy of TM3 has a green edge. Greatest Hits. Gopherbassist 04:01, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My copy of TM4 has a green edge, too. It definitely sold well, but wasn't well received by TM1 and TM2 veterans.

Dragula

[edit]

The song is listed as the "Dragula Matrix Mix" but this game came out before the Matrix and the mix is actually called the "Hot Rod Herman" Mix so I'm going to rename it.--67.181.131.193 20:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, that version was written specificly for The Matrix. Even if the game came out beforehand, it doesn't change the reason why it was written.

Question about TM3's Music

[edit]

I owned TM3 when it came out and all (I believe I had the Greatest Hits version) and I remember a Rob Zombie song was in the first level. Now, being something of a Zombie fan myself, I'm curious as to which song, exactly, this was, and Wiki doesn't seem to list it. So if anybody can tell me which song this was, I'd be appreciative. Onslaught Six 22:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was called "Meet the Creeper" and is also featured on the Hellbilly Deluxe album.
There's more than just Meet the creeper on that game... Meet the Creeper plays during the Opening video... Not during the first level... I can't find the name for that one...--Biggman15 19:01, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

i've been trying to find the music list so i can put it on my computer right but i've only got 2, 3, 4, and 9 (where track 1 in game info and not playable) here's my list:

2) Superbeast - Rob Zombie - Hillbilly Duluxe 3) Microwaved - Pitchshifter - www.pitchshifter.com 4) W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G - Pitchshifter - www.pitchshifter.com 5) unknown 6) unknown 7) unknown 8) unknown 9) Meet the Creeper - Rob Zombie - Hillbilly Duluxe

Black is missing

The article goes straight from TM4 to TM:SB.

An anonymous user removed it July 17 and nobody noticed. I added it back in. Ace of Sevens 22:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zhang Liao's Shout

[edit]

Wish I could add on my two cent for the Twisted Metal Series, but you all have so I will say this. Twisted Metal should, at least, be sold as a fun pack for any fans out there who love cars and vehicles that can blow up stuff. The only thing I wish for is that Twisted Metal could've lasted a bit longer.

More to the point, why not include, if haven't, add the stories up to Twisted Metal Black. (Only if they are not there). --Zhang Liao 08:39, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely, this article needs a little bit o' clean up and creating new sections

[edit]

Since Twisted Metal is a hit with videogamers, there needs to be a separate section for each of the games. In deed, Twisted Metal 1 and Twisted Metal 2 are dramatically in both aesthetic and plot. It would be a great injustice to allow them to stay in this muddled article.

As mentioned by others, this article is very unencyclopedic. Vivid verbs and words in addition to proper grammar will be needed to make the article appear at least somewhat professional. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Groar! (talkcontribs) 05:56, 11 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Calypso Picture

[edit]

The current picture of Calypso (the cartoon one) is from Twisted Metal 2. Can anyone get a screenshot of the actual Calypso from the original, where he had the melted face? At least I think he had a melted face. DudleyScardsdale 00:56, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can I just remove a line from the trivia section?

[edit]

I was one of the developers on Small Brawl and I think the trivia about Small Brawl not having any cheat codes is incorrect. I seem to remember there were cheat codes and I asked a couple of the other developers and they thought there were cheat codes as well. However, I have no way of verifying this at this point in time.

Qrw (talk) 14:15, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have decided I am just going to remove it.

Character list

[edit]

There articles that have lists of the characters for other video game series like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, so why isn't there one for this series? Is because it's not as popular? —Preceding unsigned comment added by FiercedeitylinkX (talkcontribs) 04:14, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Twisted Metal (series)Twisted Metal — Since the launch of the first game Twisted Metal has developed into a wide series consisting of numerous games. Thus Twisted Metal is now more commonly referred to as a series rather than as simply the first game. Hence the first game should be moved to Twisted Metal (video game) and the series page should be moved to Twisted Metal. An example of how this has been done before is that Ratchet & Clank directs to the series page while the first game, Ratchet & Clank is under Ratchet & Clank (video game) KiasuKiasiMan (talk) 12:42, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
