Board Games
[edit]Anyone going to take that on? I do not have too much time at the moment but surely Board Game Geek or a related site has something that can be sourced. If not then maybe I will make those pages and link them over Spring Break. 130.160.161.46 (talk) 15:23, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
FtWD season 4 color
[edit]Surely someone can come up with a better color than black which is already being used for season 6 of TWD.--2A02:C7D:892B:3D00:A42B:DE7C:B6FE:B3AC (talk) 05:17, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Retitle the article(?)
[edit]In recent events, AMC has referred to the franchise as a whole as, The Walking Dead Universe. This occurs at convention panels, as well as press releases. There was a logo for one of the most recent panels. Given that the company has officially named the franchise as such, I would argue that this article should reflect as much.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 22:22, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
Spin-off from TWD will be on Star

[edit]Can anyone put tales of the walking dead from pre production to filming because the show is currently on its final stages of filming and has been filming since January and until now no one changed it Abdulmajeeeeed (talk) 11:25, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Character names
[edit]I was wondering something. Most of the main characters were never given last names in the comics, or maybe we had only a last name or an alias. This is true in the TV show as well, but a lot more of them did get full names. Given that we know the TV show and comics are essentially alternate universes of each other, where characters can exist in one and (as far as we know) not in the other, or have different gender, race, age, occupation, family members, etc, I think it's fair to conclude that we can't assume the full name translates over from one medium to the other automatically. For example, if a character was only known as Joe in the comics, but in the show he was Joe Smith, would we retroactively assume his last name should also be Smith in the comics or would we leave that as an unknown? I think people have written the character articles assuming that the last name carries over from the show into the comics, but now that the main show is over I think it's time to address that and see if this practice should be changed. I could be wrong about that so I think it's worth discussing, although if we have a quote from Robert Kirkman saying "oh yeah, any time we give a full name in the show that's a retcon for the comics as well" then that's another story.
Here is what I'm talking about. In the lead paragraph, you might see it said, with my fake example, that "Joe, revealed as Joe Smith in the television series, is a fictional character in the comic book series The Walking Dead and the American television series of the same name." I think that's the wrong way to write it, because that implies to me that this is a retcon rather than a different name being used in a different media version. I think it should be said that "Joe" is a fictional character in..." and then either in parenthesis or after that part is stated, we make a note that in the show his last name is given as Smith. One example that I think handles it well is Alpha (The Walking Dead), which states that "Alpha (real name in the TV series universe: Dee) is a ..." I think that is one good way to address that the name Dee is used in the show but not the comics, because it is explained that way. I think The Governor (The Walking Dead) handles this acceptably in the same way.
So, for the characters who used full names (at least once) in the TV series, but not in the comics, we have several examples including Dale Horvath, King Ezekiel, Mercer (The Walking Dead), Negan, Carol Peletier, Sophia Peletier, Eugene Porter (for a middle name), Glenn Rhee, Tyreese, Shane Walsh (The Walking Dead), and Yumiko (The Walking Dead) where a full name is listed as having been "revealed as NAME in the television series". Conversely, Michonne does the same thing in reverse as she was given a last name in the comics which was not used in the show (so far, she's not quite done yet). Even stranger is Andrea (The Walking Dead) where it is in parentheses, but we have her "last name implied to be Harrison in The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct" video game - implied? Another question is how to handle a character like Paul "Jesus" Monroe who has a different last name in each form of media. In some cases page moves may be necessary, but that can be worked out.
I am proposing that those articles be changed to either list the TV show name in parentheses like the example of Alpha given above without the suggestion that it was "revealed", or that the name from one media only be moved to the end of the lead sentence and explicitly stated that this is the name as given in that media and not a revelation or retcon - this is the name in that media, and this is the name in the other media, and they are different versions of the same character. - OK, so I went through these characters and made changes, namely changing the "revealed" part to be similar with what I had already done at Maggie Greene as a parenthetical note stating "full name in the television/comic book series: name". Jesus was special so I tried something else with his name. Please discuss this with me and let's see if we can come to some kind of consensus on how to handle these. :) BOZ (talk) 05:20, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Ratings table
[edit]Alex 21, I'm not sure why you're deleting confirmed and sourced [1][2] (the sources used in the article) content regarding Fear the Walking Dead's episode count for season 8 and its finale date. Why are you excluding it from there, when it also appears in the various following tables here, here, and here? There is no guideline against this, otherwise that information would be excluded in all other instances. The information isn't "to be announced" (TBA), "to be determined" (TBD) or "not available" (N/A), as it is already confirmed and sourced. Per the instructions at Template:Television season ratings (the template used in this instance), the "episodes" parameter is the number of episodes included in the season in question. The count is for the total episodes, rather than how many have aired.
That would be 12 not "TBA". The "end date" parameter says, "The end date for the entire season in question; this is, the air date of the finale episode.
That would be November 19, 2023 not "TBA". Care to elaborate? Thanks. Drovethrughosts (talk) 19:01, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
The Walking Dead: Hexagone???
[edit]Just learned of the existence of The Walking Dead: Hexagone. Not seeing a lot of info about it, is it part of the TWD franchise? EarthFurst (talk) 09:06, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
