Notability of The Impossible Quiz
[edit]The Impossible Quiz meets WP:GNG and WP:WEB as it has received coverage from multiple outlets such as Polygon, Wired, Engadget, Rock Paper Shotgun, and CBR among other sources. I was initially surprised to find that no one had attempted to create an article about the game with some of these sources, until I saw that the article was SALTed over a decade ago due to so many deletions, which I only surmise to be from stans unfamiliar with Wikipedia's notability guidelines (even back when they were more lax). I can't access the old versions obviously, but I'm 110% sure my version is nowhere near identical to the older ones, so this definitely isn't a case of WP:G4. Regardless, I think this is fitting for my 1,000th edit, because I wouldn't have ever imagined 4 years ago that I would edit on Wikipedia, let alone ever reach this milestone. Thanks, PantheonRadiance (talk) 07:05, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
- Congrats on the 1000th edit, and agree it's surprising the article has only found its feet now. Thanks for creating it! VRXCES (talk) 23:44, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
- I took the liberty of closing the AfD as I read through the sources indepth and they absolutely appear to indicate significant coverage. Furthermore, opinions were unanimous it was notable including myself. I'd be happy to reopen if there is some sort of reason that has not been said, but it seemed like the page was just assumed to be spam when it was not. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 06:46, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
- Zxcvbnm Yeah, it was probably a procedural nom based on that AN discussion to ensure it met the guidelines between the time it was deleted and now. Thank you so much for closing the AfD; I really appreciate it! Also thank you, Vrxces! PantheonRadiance (talk) 22:15, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

- ... that despite the game's name and difficulty, The Impossible Quiz is actually possible to beat? Source: Engadget, Wired

- Comment: Quite a shame that this article was deleted so many times that it led to the article’s SALTing over a decade ago, even when sources from Engadget and Wired did cover the game back then. Because of that, what was easily one of the most iconic titles in Flash game history is virtually an obscure fossil only remembered by kids old enough to experience Flash games in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I hope this DYK brings a bit of nostalgia for Millennials and Gen Zers. PantheonRadiance (talk) 07:00, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
Created by PantheonRadiance (talk). Self-nominated at 07:00, 28 August 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/The Impossible Quiz; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Meets length and newness eligibility requirements. No major Earwig copyvio issues. Both hook and article correctly and properly sourced. User has 3 previous DYKs per talk page, so no QPQ required for this one. Suggest tighter, and perhaps more pithy, hook:

- Sounds like a better hook, thanks for reviewing it! PantheonRadiance (talk) 22:30, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
