I'm one of the original developers of Spelunker at MicroGraphicImage.

I question the claim stating the original version of the game had a bug preventing progress beyond Level 1. While that was nearly 25 years ago, I don't recall that. I'm one of the few who could regularlly play the game all the way to completion without loosing. I'm certain I was able to do this with the first version.

Like I said, it's not impossible I simply forgot this. Does anyone have a specific memory that makes this claim credible?

I can say from own experience that the Commodore 64 version is indeed possible to complete. I have done so, once. Spelunker is so difficult that after I had finally completed it (after almost half a decade of trying), I stopped playing it. JIP | Talk 18:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Spelunker.gif

[edit]

Image:Spelunker.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not in Playstation Store

[edit]

I have been through the Japanese Playstation Store several times and can not find the game. Editing part of the page to reflect that the game is pending release. Feezy501 (talk) 06:05, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sections merge

[edit]

The information in the "setting" section appears to be more relevant to gameplay than setting; the article would probably be well-served if the two sections were merged. Kouban (talk) 21:25, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOTGAMEGUIDE

[edit]

While this article does a reasonable job of falling into some of the typical video game articles, things like exactly which button does what starts to via into infringement of NOTGAMEGUIDE. I'd suggest removing exact button/key presses (saying 'you can shoot flares' as opposed to 'press X to shoot flares' or whatever). Also, the level descriptions are somewhat superflous. 143.92.1.32 (talk) 01:46, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did so, and I'm recording that diff here so that it can be migrated to a fanservice site such as Wikia. — Smuckola (Email) (Talk) 12:39, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
