[edit]I removed the trivia bit that said that Sektor's presence in MK3 is unknown; his bio clearly states that he was to hunt down Sub-Zero with Cyrax and Smoke, and that - like Cyrax at the time - the automation process stripped him of his soul.66.233.188.87 06:19, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Good call; I distinctly remember reading that about the cyborgs (can't remember which one). EVula 06:28, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Does anybody else recall Sektor being referred to by the nickname "Sextoy" back in the day? I know everybody I knew at the time did...
- When I first came to Wikipedia there was a piece of tirvia that was roughly Many kids mistook his name as "Sextor" when MK3 came out, why was that deleted? Was is considered uneccessary? vandilism? Something that couldn't be proven? BassxForte 02:41, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not certain of what piece of trivia you're specifically talking about, but there were two additions somewhat similar to your idea written by the same anonymous ip who left the unsigned comment above yours. His addition to the trivia stated that, "A majority of fans also refer to him by the name 'Sextoy'." Both of his edits were reverted in about 30 minutes, once by me.[1][2] The problem with this is that it's completely unsourced and unverified information. What "majority" is this speaking of? I certainly can't find any source to back up this claim. The same issue applies to your statement. Who says that "many kids" mistook his name as "Sextor"? Is there some reliable source to verify this? I did a Google search test and, while I got more results that I expected, none indicate that there was some widespread misconception among players regarding Sektor's name way back during MK3's initial release (Most seem to be deliberate misspellings simply to make fun of the name, no mistaken perceivings of it as you are implying). Barring all this, even if there was some source to cite this claim, it's definitely not worthy of any encyclopedic value. At least I can't think of a reason why it would be necessary to mention this. It's not common, notable, or even particularly interesting to the average reader. Regardless, this is all still a bit moot since "many kids" or "majority of fans" are both misnomers. It seems that these names are very small and isolated cases, not something representative of any noticeable part of the fanbase. MarphyBlack 09:23, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
I see... I wasn't saying that piece of information belongs on wikipedia, simply that I was curious as to why the original piece of information was deleted, Sektor is my favorite Mortal Kombat character and I feel it neccessary that this page lists most if not all details about him, as long as it dosen't turn this page into a game guide.
