[edit]

You guys realise the game was revealed to be a hoax, quite a long time ago, with the guys behind it admitting to this fact publicly, on IGN. Right? Shouldn't this page be updated with this? The entire thing was a hoax. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.162.169.191 (talk) 15:24, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide a link to the IGN source that claims that the game was a hoax? --ThomasO1989 (talk) 18:44, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

October 2010 Page Restoration

[edit]

Seeing how messy the merge of Sadness (video game) into Nibris went, I decided to fix that section up a bit. After doing some research on the game it ended up being really dense, and I decided that, given that the information on Nibris was pretty scarce already, the section on Sadness seemed to throw the entire article off balance.

I have decided to restore Sadness (video game) as an article and not a redirect. I have completely rewritten the article and addressed the major issues, such as lack of sources and incomplete or repetitive information, especially in the History section. I plan to expand the Setting and Game Play sections in the future, but I still believe I need more sources before I can really take off on that-- I have expanded it in accordance with the sources that are readily available.

I hope that my work has warranted the existence of this article. Despite its status as a cancelled game with little substance, there is a lot to write about it that differentiates it from other games. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 16:11, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice job. I think the game and this article is really interesting, and pulling Sadness into its own article was a good idea. There seems to definitely be enough information here to stand on its own. --Culix (talk) 04:52, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article feedback

[edit]

I just added an article to the list of assessment requests, and I see you added this article there as well. Since I am asking for feedback and an assessment on my article I thought I would also contribute and give feedback on one of the articles in the queue.

This article is off to a great start and the history of the game is very interesting. The article does a good job of covering what happened. One thing the article could use more of is in-line citations. For example, the article says Sadness "was one of the earliest titles announced for the system". Could you add an in-line reference there linking to an announcement of the game? Other examples include sentences like "Nibris promised that Sadness would provide "extremely innovative game play,"" and "Antolski ... revealed that the game's delays were caused by multiple disagreements among the staff". Do those statements come from somewhere? If they come from existing references those should be linked in-line. If we don't have references for those statements it would really help if we could get some.

The article could also use a bit of clarification for terms or claims that might come off as non-NPOV or weasel words. For example, it says "The game is notorious for being hyped ... as a ground-breaking title". Can we link to anyone actually saying that? Or to multiple people claiming the game would be ground-breaking? Does anyone actually define what they mean by "ground breaking"? Those would be good things to reference.

I think this article is definitely at least a C-class article, as it has a good structure and several references. Having a screenshot is good (and calling it an 'alleged' screenshot is a nice touch ;), and the explanation is readable and understandable. If the in-line citations were added for controversial claims or things that need references I would feel comfortable voting for this article to get a B-class rating (not that I am an expert).
