Errors
[edit]Due to a typo in character descriptions on the official site and in the booklet that came with the game, many mistakenly think that Meg is the "Countess" and Eleanor the "Baroness". But on the official site as well as in the game, it has also been stated that Meg's the "Baroness" and Eleanor the "Countess". Further analysis has shown that the most likely answer is the second one and not the first.TomitakePrincess 00:02, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Presentation section?
[edit]There's a lot within the game which hangs on the setting and the themes, for instance the music, health restoratives being old-fashioned 'goodies', tradeable items being trinkets like marbles and ribbons, the visual look etc. etc. Would it be worthwhile seperating this into a section of its own (instead of say having a music section and incorporating the other data elsewhere)?
Some detail on the storybooks within the game and the chapter system will probably be needed in the story section. A little puzzled about how to take this forward, though things are finally starting to drop into place and the big picture is beginning to make a little sense. QuagmireDog 05:17, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- Instead of that, I've created a heading for 'Plot', containing the character and story sections, mirroring the MGS3 article. In addition, I've included a 'themes' section within 'Plot' to collect together the umpteen themes running through the game. A soundtrack heading is now there for anything regarding the game's music. Fanning them out in this way is going to be a BIG help when it comes to getting my head around this facets of the article. Gameplay tweaks and web referencing is one thing, story sections and more subtle nuances are new to me. I think that themes are also a lot more important to RoR than to most games, a section for them seems appropriate. Only thing that seems to be missing is a development section, but until I've actually placed a cohesive story and filled out the other sections it's not a priority. Any suggestions or advice most welcome. QuagmireDog 09:52, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Concept
[edit]I was curious to understand what Rule of Rose was about, but this article didn't satisfy me; I had to go elsewhere to find out. The article is confusing if you don't know that Jennifer is an adult remembering her childhood. There are some references to that fact--for example, saying that Jennifer found Brown when she was a child--but the lack of a clear explanation makes those references even more confusing. I don't think this would be a spoiler as long as you don't say what happened in Jennifer's childhood. Or if it really is a spoiler you could put it behind a warning, maybe?Gorramdoll (talk) 15:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Print run?
[edit]I've heard it was around 15000 copies that are known to exist of Rule of Rose, around the same number as games like Suikoden II, could anyone confirm this? --Schala ★ 18:39, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
Was this game really banned in the UK?PeterMan844 (talk) 00:51, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Late response, but it was cancelled, not banned. Two very different things. It had actually been approved for a UK audience. Rapunzel-bellflower (talk) 18:19, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

IMPORTANT: Keeping plot concise and neat.
[edit]We need to come to a conclusion on how to keep the plot concise. The nature of RoR as a very convuluted early 2000s horror game means it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep the plot summary short and sweet, but I have also noticed several attempts over the years to make the plot very long and wordy with unnecessary descriptions and elaborations. I am also guilty of doing this. I know it's out of sheer love for this game's incredible story, but Wikipedia standards are unfortunate for something like this.
I have once again edited down the current article like I've done in the past, but I would appreciate input from other people especially in terms of grammar, chronology and accuracy of events. I want to work together to make a nice Wikipedia article for one of my favorite games. UnapolMaker (talk) 08:19, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
