Story Sections
[edit]Dumping a copyright violation notice in the article seems like an exceptionally clumsy way of handling this issue. If the story summaries are indeed taken from copyright material, just delete them and rewrite it in an appropriate manner. Personally, I'm dubious as to whether there's a violation in the first place, but supposing there is, dumping a really long template on the article is tantamount to vandalism; it breaks up the flow, distracts, and replaces vital information. I'd take it down here but that would just result in an edit war if we can't reach consensus first. (note: it would appear that the same thing has been done on all the Sparkster series pages) Darien Shields (talk) 23:33, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Is it really even an issue to have the story listed there? It is freely available in the demo of the game. I do not think Konami is going to file a copyright claim for free content meant to attract attention. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.39.43 (talk) 15:16, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- The user who did this, Mkativerata, admitted in his talk page "not knowing anything about the subject matter or having any reliable sources on it". He is clearly doing this without having any idea about what he is dealing with. As the 142.162.39.43 user mentioned, this was taken from a story text which is actually present in all the demo versions of this game, which can be accessed for free by every single person who simply has a Xbox 360, a PlayStation 3, or even a Windows based computer. Konami is not bound to fill any copyright claim about this when it is employed by them in free promotional purposes, but then again, even this is just copyrighted content for some persons who even don't know who is Sparkster. I for one think that we should, if nothing else, simply remove the story section and place the warning in the TALK page. That huge tag is more than a little annoying and unprofessional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.218.229.233 (talk) 21:14, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Copyright problem removed
[edit]One or more portions of this article duplicated other source(s). Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:55, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- By the by, the story segment you claimed I copied from xbox.wikia.com was actually the original plot description I wrote when the article was first created with additional info added myself after playing the game on its release (feel free to check the history). It's pretty unfair to claim I copied something from a site that is literally copies of Wikipedia articles.Wonchop (talk) 15:00, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- My apologies for not noticing that you were restoring earlier contents; using edit summaries can help other contributors to understand what you are doing. But if you're under the impression that this notice in some way refers to your behavior, you have misunderstood it. It refers to this copyright investigation, with content copied from the in-game story menu. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:00, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
"attack range is complete"

Japanese title
[edit]Why is the Japanese title specified at the beginning of the article, when this is not a Japanese game? Should every game that has also been distributed in Japan have its Japanese title in their articles? --87.217.142.147 (talk) 20:46, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
