Needs clarifying

[edit]

The text that reads "While living in Chicago,[3] Laurinatis met Michael Hegstrand,[3] later known as Road Warrior Hawk, and the two became close friends. When Laurinaitis was around eight years old, he and Hegstrand both moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota[4]" could imply that he knew Mike Hegstrand since they were 8 years old, and that they moved to Minneapolis together. When of course they first met each other in a gym as adults. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.30.141.29 (talk) 10:28, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Minnesota was already full of tough guys, and Chicago seemed tougher. InedibleHulk (talk) 04:09, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In case that link's broken, it's from Animal's autobiography and says: "Hawk and I also decided we needed a unique hometown billing that complemented our style. Although we were really from Minnesota, so were a ton of other guys, and we weren't interested in having anything in common with anybody. Besides, Minnesota was far too nice a place to hail from." They "looked at a map" and "had always heard about how tough the south side of Chicago was". "This town had guts. From that point forward, we were announced 'from Chicago." Animal

[edit]

joe was part of the ROAD WARRIORS WRESTLER a big fellow at two hundred and eighty pounds of muscle always wore leaather biker gang atire with his side kick hawk these two wrestler were in demand in the wrestling world all over the world omne thing about joe he had big arms must have been 24 inches and the chest must have been over sixty plus i would not want to to be in a locker room with these two big fellos powerhouses of wreestler but in real likfe they are probably very nice fella

  • I can't believe that the WWE would give him a heel turn, wash off his face paint, take off his shoulder pads, drop Animal from his name just two weeks before WrestleMania 22 in Legion of Doom's hometown of Chicago. I'm not totally opposed to the turn (though I am the name change), but I wish it was either done after WrestleMania or done so with still being Roadwarrior Animal. Especially with WWE pushing the DVD and even giving a WWE Tag Team title reign to the LOD reincarnation (Animal and Heidenreich) within the past year, you'd think they'd hold off. Besides, I thought Animal was brought in to bring back the fan support from the glory years not reconfigure his 25 year career!

Laurinaitis

[edit]

His last name sounds Lithuanian, is he? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Justakija (talkcontribs) 19:09, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page needs reworking

[edit]

It's obvious that a majority of this article was pasted from the Hawk article. This one needs some re-working to be more Animal-centric, I think. -Jacquismo 23:40, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can some please find out the reason for his release

"became a born-again Christian in 2003 and appeared at a number of Christian wrestling events run by Ted DiBiase and Nikita Koloff." is in all three articles relating to the Road Warriors. Does anyone know if both Animal and Hawk became Christians for a fact?

I went to a church (pastored by former wrestler "J.W. Storm") on 2008.01.13 where "Animal" gave his testimonial about becoming a christian. He said he accepted christ into his life when his son was 12. I'd guess this would have been around 1999 (give or take a year). So . . . I know for a fact that he is a christian, but I am not sure how to cite it. I don't think it is fair to say that he became a "Born-again" christian in 2003, since it should have taken place 3 to 4 years earlier. He didn't say a word about "Hawk", but after reading "Hawk's" wikipage, it would have made for an interesting story. This is my first post, hopefully I did things correctly. I'm not sure how this works, but I will check back at times if there are any responses, or if you want me to get further information

I am new to the contribution side of wikipedia. It seems the article has changed recently (which seems to be awesome). I would like to be able to contribute information for, Joseph Aaron "Joe" Laurinaitis, and Jeff Warner "J.W. Storm", but I am unsure how this system works. If whoever changed this information is interested in additional information on "Animal", or especially Jeff Warner "J.W Storm" (Since I met Jeff Warner, went to his church, and will see him again in about 16 hours), please let me know. I want to know how to contribute information to wikipedia. I absolutely love this site, and I would love to contribute what I can. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theoverman777 (talkcontribs) 08:11, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name change rationale

[edit]

From WP:PW talk page:

Resolved

Animal is listed as Joseph Laurinaitis, Hawk is listed as Road Warrior Hawk. I believe Animal should be moved to Road Warrior Animal. --Endless Dan 12:55, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And again, his most notable name is Road Warrior Animal, which he has been known as for 20 years which caused him to become a recognizable figure in professional wrestling. How is being a dad compare to the notablity of that? Naming conventions wants the most commonly used name, and I don't believe him being a father garnered him the same amount of attention. — Κaiba 23:25, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
