No Atari ST Port
[edit]An Atari ST port does not exist. This should be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.141.5.105 (talk) 04:20, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Hard Rider not happening
[edit]According to Dan Geisler's Twitter, Hard Rider is not being funded: https://twitter.com/DanGeislerSr/status/473132551750815744 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.75.232.144 (talk) 15:33, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Road Rash 3d
[edit]Guys, I've noticed that the playstation version of Road Rash is listed as being just Road Rash. I own the game, and it is sitting here right besides me. However, the cover and in the game, it is labeled as Road Rash 3d. Why does this article not list the 1996 Playstation game under Road Rash 3d? Stuurm (talk) 03:02, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Road Rash 64
[edit]Theres no section on wiki about Road Rash 64, and it definitly needs its own page :) Great game--HiPNoTyQ 21:17, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- No it doesn't. This game almost isn't notable in the first place. --Can Not 05:18, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Almost isn't? 71.236.147.130 22:51, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Disambiguation/splitting pages
[edit]- Agree. It needs to be split into each seperate game.
- Agree. We should disambiguate these pages. --Guroadrunner 11:43, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Disagree. Unless there's more than 2 pages on Road Rash/Road rash then it's fine how it is. BillPP 00:28, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Agree. It need to be split. Has they is going to be other road rash game. --SkyWalker 09:19, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Agree. Road Rash should lead to a disambigution page between the video game and the medical condition.
- Dissagree. There is not enough information currently on Wikipedia to warrant seperate pages. Stuurm (talk) 03:02, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Wow, I remember that part when you get so hurt you pass-out/die, and the ambulence picks up your bike, and leaves you behind... hahaha...--69.170.226.182 30 June 2005 03:31 (UTC)
"PC" explanation for lack of controversy
[edit]I don't understand this bit:
- Road Rash got little to no attention in the video game controversy of the '90s. Some of this may be attributed to the designers skewed, yet balanced rules of political correctness: Violence and rewards are divided up equally between ethnicity and sex and stereotypes are balanced by representing a cross-section of characters all behaving badly.
Now, it's been a long time since I've played the game, but I don't recall much in the way of "political correctness" there, and I certainly don't see what the point is. I'm also not sure what "... skewed, yet balanced ..." means --- it strikes me as an oxymoron, frankly.
(Oh, this was a great game. Wonder if it's still available for PC/N64?) --fuddlemark 21:08, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
PC/Windows version
[edit]There is a PC/Windows 95 version of Road Rash. This article does not mention it. --CrazyTerabyte 13:16, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
Good explanation of game mechanics
[edit]Whoever wrote the article including things like "aggression decay" or whatever really knew their stuff.
3D0 before Mega Drive?
[edit]Currently the article suggests that the 3D0 version was released first, followed by the Mega Drive (Genesis). I'm 99% sure that that's nonsense -- anyone confirm otherwise? 62.56.89.184 22:32, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Yep, that's totally screwed up. The mobygames link confirms it. The problem is that there was a numbering reset for the 32 bit versions. I think a lot of this article was written by someone who wasn't aware of the first three. 71.236.147.130 22:56, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
First racing game with combat?
[edit]"Road Rash was the first racing game to allow actual combat between racers." Either I don't understand the terms here, or it's simply wrong. Deathtrack was published 2 years earlier. --89.113.75.152 07:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I dispute this too. Racing Destruction Set came out in 1985.
Skydivemayday 09:08, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
I think they may have meant, first racing game where it's actually the PEOPLE doing the combat rather than vehicle mounted weaponry/armour, i.e. Kicking and Punching others off their motorcycle rather than shooting/dropping mines etc.

Fansite deserving of link?
[edit]I've just been on the fansite, and it's very patchy, with a lot of information missing or incorrect (e.g. it wrongly says that Madame X is the only user of nunchucks in RR3). I'm not sure it deserves a link on the page - if fansites of that low standard were allowed on music/band websites, each major artist would have hundreds of external links! 86.140.143.162 13:28, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
No-one has objected, so I'm getting rid of it. Any problems, let me know. 86.136.6.58 09:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
re: Fansite deserving of link?
[edit]The website (mine) is quite authorative its the only one i know that is actually dedicated to the 16-bit era of road rash
weve got scans of magazine reviews, prototype screenshots, ads, manuals, covers, each and every character in the game has a profile (If something is wrong eg the nunchuks issue with Madame X pls email me at james@welcometotherash.com and I can correct but pls tell me who else has nunchuks in RR3 AFAIK it was only her so a screenshot for verification would be good)
We also have all the afterrace comments by the other characters on the 'comments' page, i ripped these from the ROM then formatted them, and a list of all the weapons and bikes etc
I also have the very early version of RR3 cited on the 'versions' page which im waiting for someone to dump for me which i will realease on the site for everyone
I understand the design of the www isnt fantastic (I always value content above looks) but im currently rolling out a wiki here: http://welcometotherash.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page which i may roll out as the main site when its finished
i accept too many fansite links are an annoyance in droves, but the fact is AFAIK this is the only one around ATM, and has some material of interest to RR fans
cheers :) Man traic 14:13, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- Looks good to me and appears to be a worthy resource for linking. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 19:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Restructuring article
[edit]Okay, I began chopping up this skewed article. Can someone determine where the "playable characters" are supposed to go, or if it's even necessary to put it in this article? Cos I seriously doubt it has a place, regardless of what game it belongs to. (Onore Baka Sama (talk) 00:02, 13 June 2009 (UTC))
Road Rash 3D is a separate title from Road Rash 3Do/PS1/Sega CD
[edit]Road Rash 3D featured fully polygonal models, and alternate routes. It had a different soundtrack. It was a different game. Maybe I'll write a section on it, but I'd have to dig it out and play it. I own both Road Rash and Road Rash 3D for the PS1. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.9.92.65 (talk) 14:27, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I concur with this. After the Road Rash 3DO (and subsequent Saturn/initial PSX/PC version) but before Road Rash 64 was Road Rash 3D which was distinguished from previous versions by it's 3D polygonal build (as opposed to Road Rash '3DO's' Need for Speed style 2D build). Here are examples of the two: The initial '3DO' version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Nw_ob0gKR8&feature=related
And the Road Rash 3D version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEKM0zv5nlo
I distinctly remember the soundtrack of 3D having Sugar Ray, Kid Rock and Civ amongst other bands where as the '3DO' version had the early 90s A&M bands like Swervedriver, Soundgarden, Paw, Monster Magnet etc. It was definitely a different release. What year, I can't remember off the top of my head, but I believe it to be somewhere between '96 and '98. (118.210.105.222 (talk) 03:53, 28 November 2010 (UTC))
- The 3DO version of Road Rash has a 1994 copyright in the instruction booklet. --108.29.18.202 (talk) 06:42, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Road Rash on Sega Mega Drive unwinnable?
[edit]I own the game (PAL version) since its release in 1991 and I've been wondering if anyone can confirm this. After finishing every race in the 5th level on first position nothing happens, there's no ending screen or anything, the game just continues at the race selection screen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.85.170.142 (talk) 04:40, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Isn't that the case with Road Rash II? Once you complete the normal races, you race against cops but it perpetually crashes from that point?? (118.210.105.222 (talk) 04:00, 28 November 2010 (UTC))

Splitting Road Rash game from 2009
[edit]Road Rash for mobile devices was released in 2009. However, this needs splitting to the new article. Longplay Watcher (talk) 07:29, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- Unless enough reliable sources justify such a page, no it does not. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 00:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- As there is insufficient content and references to justify a split, I have removed the request.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 09:14, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
