First Person...Shooter?

[edit]

The article opens by saying that Red Steel 2 is a first person shooter. But I'm a bit cautious about using this term to describe the game, seeing it's predominately based around sword fighting. Unfortunately, the official Red Steel 2 site doesn't offer much help in defining the genre. Kotaku refers to the game as a "First person combat" title, while at one point the game's creative director casually referred to it as a "first person fighting" experience when answering a question on Ubisoft's forum. I'd personally opt for calling it a "First Person Action" experience, rather then FPS.--LostOverThere (talk) 12:23, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree this game does not qualify as a FPS. It should be changed to just "shooter".--FUNKAMATIC ~talk 09:07, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nah just calling it a shooter refers to top-down shooters, and its not really FPS so just an action game72.199.100.223 (talk) 20:25, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This actually is an FPS. It's focused as much around gun-play as it is around swordplay. You can go through the entire game only using a gun in fights. I can use a melee weapon in Team Fortress 2, that doesn't mean it isn't an FPS. 76.178.228.63 (talk) 21:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete the Previews section

[edit]

Seeing the game is now release, the previews section seems quite pointless. I gather we can delete it now? --LostOverThere (talk) 04:52, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Good point :) Just did. GameLegend (talk) 18:05, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For anyone looking to expand the reception section:

Last Sentence

[edit]

The last sentence in the section about the sequel doesn't make sense. "... it is cetain not to be a wii exclusive making use of the wii vitality sensor." This seems to suggest that it will not be just for the wii, but then goes on to say it will use the wii vitality sensor. Please clarify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.105.166 (talk) 21:47, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Swap Plot and Gameplay sections?

[edit]

As a casual reader I find it a bit confusing to find a releatively long description of the plot at the top of the article's details. This is especially so, because I had the impression that Red Steel 2 is remarkable because of its gameplay noveltys rather than its plot. May I suggest that the order of the two could be swapped (Gameplay first, followed by Plot)? Wolfbjoe (talk) 07:04, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
