single or two player?

[edit]

[1] This link says that R-Type three from the SNES on the Nintendo Wii virtual console is two player, near the bottom, which it is cited as the greatest re-play value of the game. However, on the side panel of the article, it is listed as a solely single player game. Can anyone confirm this one way or the other? 71.222.93.73 04:36, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

R-Type III is definitely two player, I have played it with two players myself many times. The main menu has three choices; "1 Player", "2 Player" and "Option". I don't know if the original version had two-player support, though. Lifeisagame247 21:33, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PAL Release?

[edit]

This article mentions nothing about this game getting a PAL release, so I've been under the impression that it didn't. However, it was recently released for the Virtual Console in Europe and I've seen other mentions of a PAL release. Anyone know for sure? 213.66.220.85 20:53, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It did get a PAL release, yes. Listed on Gamefaqs as 1994, used to own a PAL copy myself. The PAL release was one of the ones that replaced the indestructable 'sperm' projectiles of the second boss with red eyeballs.
