Richard III execution of rivers and grey
[edit]Pontefract castle is also of importance in the history of the Wars of the Roses. Shortly before taking power, Richard uses Pontefract Castle to imprison and execute the relatives of Elizabeth Woodville (Lady Elizabeth Grey then later Queen of England), wife of Edward IV (who is the brother of Richard III), Arthur Woodville (Earl Rivers and Elizabeth's half-brother)) and Sir Richard Grey (son of Elizabeth and nephew of Richard III) are imprisoned there sometime in on/after April 30, 1483 and executed June 25, 1483 on charges of conspiracy to kill Richard III in favor of Edward V (if still alive) or Henry IV. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.132.140.103 (talk) 18:45, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
New Comment
[edit]Please note that John of Gaunt is the son of Edward III, not Henry III. He is the younger brother of the Black Prince and father of Henry IV.
I do not know how to make this change, but someone should make it.

- You're correct, and I've made the change. I was the one who introduced the error. Sorry about that, I'd linked to Edward III's article, so I'm not sure how I got the second part wrong. Nev1 (talk) 22:58, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
